Con Artists
May 25, 2022

Don't use this company. The are con artists. I had them for two and half years and the customer service is terrible. When you want to make a change to your account and try to login online it will tell you your request cannot be processed and give you a disconnected number to call. Once you find the right 800 number to call, you have a 30 minute hold time to get through to someone that you can't understand. This happens every time you try to login to your account. I got tired of their BS and switched carriers. My son bought a new iPhone 12 pro max direct from Apple that he used on Straight Talk for 11 months. When I switched carriers they told us we had to pay them $50 to unlock his phone because we had not used it with them for a full year yet. How the heck do they have the right to charge me a fee to unlock my phone that I paid full price for from Apple? That is illegal. How can they hold my own phone hostage from me. I paid the 50.00 fee and now have to wait up to two days for his phone to be unlocked. I wish a lawyer would bring a suit against them for unethical behavior. Apple should be able to over ride scams like this when they can search their records to verify that you purchased your phone from them. Super Pis*ed off customer.

Since they moved from ATT to Verizon, I have called multiple times and all they say is that i have to change the sim card, they has sent me already 2 sim cards and the problem has not been solved. Spoke with multiples agents and no luck, the last one, Named Esteban, did not want to communicate me with a Supervisor, even when I asked him if he wanted to loss a client, well they did lost client! NEVER Will Recommend this Company!

I finally got tired of Verizon's $150+ a month bills and extra charges a little over 3 years ago and decided to try StraightTalk. I have been nothing but happy with the price ($48.16 per month), the customer service, the reception and the phones available. Everything is unlimited; calling, texting and data usage plus I get Verizon as the automatic carrier (the only one that works in my area).

I see a lot of reviews here complaining about the phones themselves, but the phones I have purchased are brand new from the manufacturer and you get what you pay for. If a SIM card fails, StraightTalk will send you a new one expedited and not charge you for it. Customer Service is also extremely friendly and helpful. StraightTalk has all the latest smart phones available from $90-$600, you simply choose which one you want. No, the price of the phone is not hidden and rolled into the plan the way Sprint, Verizon and all of the others do and you must buy it outright. But, with your service there are also no hidden or extra fees.

StraightTalk works really well in bringing your cell phone costs down, especially as a single person and you DO NOT have to go to Wally World to get it. I found it much easier to just do everything directly on their website.

I would recommend (and do) StraightTalk to anyone.

I was a customer for a long time. When I tried to change my number, my phone stopped working and wouldn't make or receive calls. I talked to 7 customer service agents and none of them got my phone fixed. I was without service for OVER 36 HOURS so I called and canceled my service and went to AT&T. I had half of a month of my service left and wanted them to refund me the money that they owed me. The refund guy was very rude and told me that I would have to call my bank to get my money back.

I have been with STRAIGHT TALK for over 6yrs. This month, they decided to cut my data on my $55, ($60 after tax and about 4 other fees) plan. When I called, the woman couldn't even speak English, and tried telling me the phone I have isn't supported with straight talk.
When I explained my phone is an Unlocked IPhone 12 (meaning any carrier is supported) and have used 3 unlocked IPhones with straight talk since I've been with them (this one for over 2yrs) she was certain that was why. She couldn't explain why I could still text and call, and emails would still come in yet wouldn't load. I am now after 6yrs a cricket customer. Never again with straight talk! You don't get what you pay for.

Scam Artists
May 25, 2022

New customer 3 days ago. Brand new phone. Brand new sim card supplied by them. Spent 2 hours on the phone getting it set up. Everything worked fine for 3 days. They "guaranteed" I had service til 6/25. Here we are 3 days later they allowed someone to take my phone number and transfer it to another account. They refused to give me any information. Said they would fix it but they need me to hang up and they will call back in 15-20 minutes. An hour goes by so I call back. Sit on hold for another hour and a half where I was then told I would need to purchase more service to use my phone. When I asked how service expires in 3 days, it was responded by "we decided the sim card is not compatible". Talked to 3 different representatives: Benjamin, Emely, and Jocelyn. They would not assist me without getting more money from me.
After hanging up the one text (with no service) I was able to receive is straight talk letting me know someone changed our account and to please log in if we didn't authorize it. I already purchased a new plan with AT&T for my husband and I. I will be sure anyone I care about doesn't use this service.
Thank you straight talk for robbing us, and jeopardizing my safety by having no forms of communication.

Calling straight talk has always been the absolute worst part of using their service. Their customer support has always been awful. But they found a way to make it much worse. Their reps are much more open about their impatience now and will just hang up on you. After waiting for 10 to 20 minutes on hold you get to beg them to help you and hope they will not make you have to repeat the process. I've used Straight Talk for over 5 years, the best part was that setup was complete and I didn't have to deal with their customer support much.
I recently tried helping a family member try switching to Straight Talk. They purchased an activation kit and I attempted to activate their phone. The website said I needed to order a new SIM card, even though there was one in the kit. So I ordered another one. Same thing, I needed another new SIM card. I've gone through this process before, I've bought and sold over 100 phones and am very familiar with them. I checked compatability, it was good. So I tried calling...
I am so done with Straight Talk. Their service sucks and their coverage in my area has gotten worse. I literally have nothing to lose by going with anyone else.

The FCC allowed Verizon Wireless to take over Straight Talk since then my reliable cell phone service is no more I have dropped calls and my phone goes out completely, frequently this is the fault in my opinion of the FCC please file a complaint if you are having the same problem with the FCC and let them know what they have caused. Verizon Wireless is a greedy company and they do not want people to have an affordable cell phone plan.

So when I brought my own phone to straight talk the Verizon SIM card I bought was broke so they used the AT&T one instead and was going to send a new Verizon one well during the port over they entered the sim information wrong and after three days they finally figured that out after multiple calls to them well it's now been three months I haven't received the new SIM card yet and after buying my minutes my phone stopped working so we called about a dozen of times and kept getting hung up on until one finally told us that my SIM card in my phone has been deactivated by them so now I have no phone and will not have one for a week so honestly this company is nothing but issues yes they are decent priced but with the amount of headaches you will get it's not worth it

Tired of wasting my time.
December 22, 2021

For three months, I have been trying to get some one on the phone. I have paid entirely too much for the past 4 years to be given such $#*!ty service. I just now finally got ahold of some one. Asked for my last payment on my plan to be refunded. He said he doesn't do that and I would have to go through some one else. He gives me a number to an insurance company that tries to figure out how many miles you drive your car a day. *******355. The agent I spoke to is named Samuel. I 100% advise you to not waste your time and money on this company. There's absolutely no way to get ahold of them when something isn't right. They lie, they take your money and don't bother to assist you. You get locked out of your account. I wasted $800 on a phone that I now have to give up because they will not unlock my sim but will give me an option to see if I can. The serial numbers on your phone don't match anything in their system, or so they claim that to be the case. You try to cancel your plan and they still continue to charge you for months that you're not using. I cannot express how angry I am for allowing myself to waste the money and time with them that I have. Note to self. Don't.

Tried to transfer my # from my flip phone which I only did because they threated to cut it off, my new smart phone would not accept the transfer. Not able to make the transfer have no service on my old phone with the transfer process. After many hours with the customer service, still no service. After three days at Wal-mart (about 5+ hours) taking up their time; still no service and no way to make any calls or receive calls. After buying a new phone and buying a new service plan (because the minutes would not transfer) and paying a roaming fee to try and get my old phone to work, I AM DONE WITH THEIR $#*!! Not sure who yet, just anyone else,

THIER WEB SITES WORK FOR SALES OK, BUT TO GET SIM CARDS SORTED OUT CORRECTLY THEY THROW EVERY ODD BALL QUESTION AT YOU POSSIBLE, AND WITH A POOR PHONE CONNECT., AND BAD LATINO ACCENTS. THEY OFTEN HANG UP ON YOU, ASK FOR PASSWORDS ON HOME PHONE CARDS, OF WHICH THERE ARE NONE. ITS INPOSSIBLE TO LOG IN. I HAD A WALMART LADY TRY TO HELP BY CALLING THEM, SHE COULDNT BELIEVE THIER MESS OF STUPID QUESTIONS, AND STILL NOTHING DONE. OUR FCC MUST ENJOYING A BIG BRIBE FROM THEM.

Unabe to use hot spot after just 8 days of my monthly service renewing. Hardly even used my Hotspot and Straight Talk said I used all 15G's. The prior month I never had a problem. It's the 22nd of December and Straight Talk Customer Service said, I will need to wait until the 14th of next month to renew my 15G's. When I ask Customer Service to show proof of usage they said they said they can't. Their accents were difficult to understand, they offered no solutions, and could not show proof of why my hotspot ended in 8 days. This is poor service! I do not recommend them. I would give them 0 Stars if I could.

Every single rep I get when I call ( which is multiple times for the same thing) is foreign & hard to understand! Next. Don't even try to port your straightalk number to a different service like Verizon, etc because it has taken HOURS to get it through their brain if they have one what to do. And you can't do it yourself, even with the wrong activation 5 digit zip code ( which isn't the same as your home zip code) or a 4 digit pin to provide to new company! It's a pain in the BUTT and absolutely unacceptable customer service! DO NOT GET THIS SERVICE! My opinion, NOT DISINFORMATION!

Horrible Customer Service
December 10, 2021

There customer service is so bad. I believe they just copy/paste responses from answers they have online. Also, not one single time have those standard FAQ answers actually helped me. My wife tried to get on straight talk by transferring her IPHONE 12 pro over. We text ******* to ensure it was compatible, it said yes. Of course, when we tried to actually activate it, it said it was not compatible. Called customer service 3 separate time. Transferred me to buy a service plan, each time on transfer the call dropped. When we finally were able to speak to someone she did exactly what we did online and just said, "No, it does not work with Straight Talk." Again, even though we verified that it would work thru *******. The customer service rep just said, well you need to buy a new phone. That is not a solution and you should have better answers than stand FAQ answers. Straight talk has 100 percent the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Oh, almost forgot the phone they said wasn't compatible is being sold on their website for nearly a thousand dollars! Get it together straight talk and actually train you customer service reps to be something other than bots that regurgitate standard FAQ responses!
