I wish I would've stayed with Verizon even though I wouldn't be saving money. When ordering this plan online they wanted to know what carrier I had been using. Verizon wasnt on the checklist since checked "other". When I received my Sim card and inserted it I started noticing problems; couldn't connect to Internet unless on WiFi, couldn't receive or send pictures/video and random local calls coming/going as international calls. I never received the settings that I was suppose to receive. I called customer service and they told me I should've gotten a Verizon Sim card and not the AT&T that they sent. I told the foreigner about me checking "other" because Verizon wasn't an option. She had the audacity to tell me that I would need to purchase the correct Sim card! We went back and forth for about 5 minutes. She was determined that I would have to PURCHASE the correct Sim card. She finally hung up on me. I searched the Internet for solutions. I changed my setting to no avail. After almost a month the only problem changing the settings resolved was the Internet connection when not on WiFi. I wish I would've researched reviews before I left Verizon.
Straight Talk is a cellphone service purchased through Wallmart.
The coverage is not bad, but the customer service is the worst I have ever encountered. All calls to customer service go to India. It took me three tries to get someone that I could understand. Even then I'm not sure she comprehended what I was saying. I called because my phone was shut off on 6/6/2011.
I purchase 1000 minutes per month and my current month ran from 5/25/2011 to 6/24/2011. I was told that I had used my 1000 minutes up and would have to purchase more minutes. My call log on the phone showed I had used only 326 minutes so I requested a copy of my calls showing how I used the 1000 minutes.
They refused to give it to me. Finally after speaking with a supervisor I was told that I would have to send them a notorized letter (cost more than 1 months service) with:
My name
My address
My home phone number
The phone number of the phone in question
The serial number of the phone
A photo copy of the back of the phone showing the serial number (this was the impossible part since the serial number was too small and showed blurry on each copy)
The date range requested
And finally the reason for requesting the call logs.

This is by far the worst provider i have ever encountered! I attempted to write this review on my phone and after eight minutes of waiting for this sight to finish opening i decided i had better wait till i got home! Im not sure if they dont have internet all together or its really actually that bad! I wont tell you to not get there service because its so bad that you actually should see it for yourself to get a grip on the idea of how horrible it actually is! Some could wright it off as it being there area! If this is actually true then i would say if you live in the area of the entire state of Michigan, this is not the provider for you! Ive had there service for 4 months now so i could say i gave them a solid chance! Each month it gets worse and gigs run out faster and faster! But i can understand this because sometimes it can take up to 12 minutes to load a single page! I am nine days into my fifth month and i will be changing my provider tomorrow with no regard or concern about the other 21 days ive already paid for! Some might say thats a waist of money! But i can assure you on even the worst provider you will get into more searches and sites and connect with more calls and texts in two days then you will with straight talk wireless within the entire month of service! I feel 100% completely robbed by strait talk wireless so i rate them 0! But they are number 1 on the worst list so theres that! I will add proof i have there service and submit this just as soon as the picture finishes sending to my cousin! Shouldnt take much more then 7 minutes or so since i sent it before i started writing this review! And yes im dead serious!
Have had them for over 10 years purchased the gaslaxy s23 screen stopped working been going through it since may sent ohome back in August been getting the run around about replacement no one understands a word im saying keep hetting tilr phone out of warranty then get someone else they say did i send the phone back ask for corporate they will ask more questuon then say well when did you send the phone back or we don't sale that ogone anymore and still paying for the phone no answer resolve they always sayinf sorry and stil dont understand what you are saying basically repeating what wver yiu say then ask you over and over what or when or how
Lets see always have a problem with getting my mins on for 1 thing becouse they want me to switch to verizins service they was suppose to send me a phone not once but twice and after 2 months of them suppose to do this still havnt they did my bf phone but not mine. Another i paid for service on my bf phone and the next day they turned it off expecting me to pay more money to have it turned back on so i talked to someone else about it and got extra mins for my bf ontop of them turning it back on now once my mom gets home tonight they will be hearing from me again as of they did the same $#*! to my mom after she just paid 30 days of mins last week and they shut her phone off and they wont turn it back on for her. They are crooks they will try and steal your money. And then every time i tried to log in it dont let me i ask them why and they said they i dont have a account with them this has been the 2nd time with that so all my points have been gone that i saved up. Once i get enough money we are switching. I do not recommend straight talk anymore at all. Thank you straight talk for now becoming a $#*!ty phone company.

I had straight talk for myself, my wife and my mother in law for 10 years. We changed all of our phones to another provider in April 2022 because of poor customer service. The problem is that my mother in laws phone was on auto-fill and Straight Talk has continued to charge monthly for the cancelled phone service. We have called customer no service several times about this issue, but to no avail. We no longer have the phone, so we can't provide the ISM# and Straight Talk says that the cell# we had is no longer associated with an active account. This equates to an 80yo widow with congestive heart failure being stolen from every month. We now have no recourse but to cancel the debit card that ST is drawing from, getting a new card number and updating electric and land line providers with new payment info. Do yourself a favor... DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO STRAIGHT TALK... There are better discount providers that are less expensive that have US based customer service. P. S: The only reason I rated this review with 1 star was because there wasn't an option to rate with no stars!

Unbelievable disgust. Bought new Straight Talk phone, ordered SIMcard, since mine didnt come with one. After 2 days of screaming and yelling... OMG by magic the SIM finally arrived. Put it in new phone, called to have them activate it. After speaking with Bob, Dave and finally Jim... I was told my phone was not compatible. WRONG! I ended up going online, and activated my new SIM to my new phone all by myself. Incompatible my $#*!! They are not trained well enough, they truly do not understand ENGLISH, and they speak it even worse than someone from Kentucky (no offense to Kentuckians). After I hung up on the supervisor because he was also inept, he actually called me back, and asked me... so, is your new phone activated? Since I had ALREADY told him I activated my phone ON MY OWN, for the 4th time, I finally just said you listen just as poorly as your reps, and hung up for the final time. Straight Talk... quit OUTSOURCING TO INDIA! They make you look worse than you already are! Just disgusted

Bought the card at Walmart first code worked 2nd code didn't work I called support they added but messed up gave me 1gb been on support with them 3days still have no internet they hung up on me I wouldn't even give them a star I work daily with my phone so I need internet I have none they see I have the unlimited plan but they can't figure out how to fix it its crap it shows on our plan it's unlimited
If you want good service would reliability and some sense of security from your company do not buy from straight talk do not buy expensive phones when they get stolen they will not turn them off they let the person who stole them continue to use it and sometimes even change your number then my stolen phone was sold back to me I had to go out and buy a byot SIM card kit to bring my own phone back to Straight Talk unfortunately it comes with like four SIM cards one for AT&T phone for T-Mobile one for Verizon and guess what those very same people while giving me a ride home from Walmart took the AT&T SIM card in the T-Mobile SIM card and I asked a company to deactivate those those cannot be used since they're quite expensive I paid a pretty penny they simply hung up on me people take your money in your business I'll swear you are valued as a customer and not just once you spend your money they could give to kids about you go with the company the kids because this one doesn't all they want to do is take your money and after that they could care less about you

I have been off and on with Straight Talk for the past 9 years and I've never really had a problem with them until the past 5 months I pay for the $55 unlimited plan with 15 gigs of hotspot I use those hotspot gigs for my work computer every once in awhile and the past 5 months I have been shut off at 10 gigs at 9 gigs at 9 and 1/2 gigs at 7 and 1/2 gigs at 6 gigs and well this month I'm at four and a half so I ended up calling the customer service and they said that I used up a full 15 gigs and I have not I know I have not, the phone that I have tells me how much data I have used on my phone plan and my Hotspot and it's never been wrong before I have been watching this go on and on and they shut it off after I called they sent a message to me saying that I used up all 15 gigs of my Hotspot data not even 30 minutes after I called they are literally ripping people off we are paying over $60 for a plan we only get about 5 gigs of hotspot on this is b******* there's other phone plans out there that is way better than this that does not shut you off before your plan is ended f*** them. I rate them a -2 stars everyone stay alert and watch your phone plan

Answer: Cheaper than ATT for a landline. I never thought of the problems I am having trying to get service started. I don't know how they stay in business considering the gift fact that Verizon owns them.
