I've been a customer of straight talk for a very long time now. This year my incoming/outgoing calls and incoming/outgoing messages does not work at all any incoming calls gets sent straight to voice-mail as of January 3rd, 2023. I pay the 495 for a year service I have not been able to send or receive multimedia messages through my texts since I upgraded my last phone to the Samsung galaxy note 9 as of March 2022. I've been hung up on twice by customer service when they transferred me to the higher up to take care of my persistent problem however this being a long time customer and a screw up on their end they want me to pay for a new sim card and refuse to refund me the money for the time left under my year of service plan. It's not that I am upset about having to pay $0.99 for a new sim card but it had nothing to do with the sim card and that it was their company that made the mistake and refused to fix it 5 people 2 hang up calls in less than a week at that and not once I can send a sim card or fix this small simple mistake from our end and the fact that I went through all these people and it took that long to find the issue which could have saved so much time and hassle You constantly get someone who cannot speak English very well. And come to find out the screw up on their end is the phones imei # someone put the wrong imei # associated with my sim card # they refuse to fix it without telling you to purchase a new sim card. Save yourself the headache and go with someone else. It's even cheaper through spectrum I pay more with straight talk than I would have if I just went through spectrum or elsewhere. Hope this helps some who may be experiencing the same issues as I am! And if you chose to go through with straight talk Goodluck wish you the best with this service it was not all bad but after the change in my phones it went downhill and has steadily been declining my opinion and frustrations with this service!
I can't say enough negative things in regards to my experience with this company.
To start with if you're going to port in your number good luck.
I spent 3 hours on the phone with customer service along with supposedly tech support
Gave the correct account number pin number and nobody seen to be able to figure out how to port in a number. I ended up having to get a new number and losing a number I had for 15 years to say I was angry as an understatement.
Next when I purchased the Galaxy a53 which is a 5G phone I was told by the store representative along with multiple customer service Representatives it's straight talk my home is in a 5G service area sure would be nice if straight talk customer service Representatives actually knew where the 5G service area actually was I drove in the same amount of miles figuring out where the 5G service area began turns out I live 60 miles from the beginning of 5G service my 4G service is spotty at best if I want decent data service I need to hop on my Wi-Fi which is definitely not what I am paying my service fee for.
I am seriously looking at other service providers.
I had originally switched from Verizon (only because of our financial situation at the time). My husband and I ported our phone numbers over. The same phone numbers that we have had for around 10 years. I never had many issues after initially getting everything switched over. We had spotty service in some areas that we rarely visited so not to bad. Recently I paid my monthly re-up for the new month and the next day straight talk allowed another company to just take my phone number. I realized I didn't have service but my husband still did. I thought my phone was just messing up as it is a few years old. I called customer service they could not tell me why my phone number was ported out or what information was given to approve the port out. To port out of straight talk you have to have the pin number the customer created the account number and the phone with that number in your possession because they either call/text a code that you have to provide to the person your currently on the phone with. They also told me that I forfeit the amount I just paid to re-up for the new month. I wanted my phone number back. They supposedly put in a order to have this done and said I would get a call within 48 hours. Over 48 hours later no call and customer service was terrible. My husband and I kept calling they never got us to the correct department, constantly hung up on us, would not look up the order number to see if they got the number back, HORRIBLE! Never Again. Since my 2 children now have phones we went back to Verizon. We have truly unlimited for all phones for $40 cheaper a month than straight talk. Very happy with Verizon. Would give a negative rating if I could.
The agents that answered my phone calls were not knowledgeable about the services they were rendering. I did not speak to one that truly understood me all together. My issue was that I was sent a Sim card from Straight talk to replace the sim in my phone that was in my phone which was a at&t compatible sim for straight talk. I did not have any issues before the Verizon card was inserted. After I inserted the Verizon card my phone went down hill. I could not figure out why some of my calls were not coming through so I put the old at&t sim card in one of my old phones and it was still active. My phone number shared two sim. I explained this to the agents and they kept asking me to reset my phone. Rest my phone. Why can't you get that my issue is not my phone but the two sim cards. They continued to tell me to wait 24 hours for my service to work. It has been 9 days today that I have not received phone calls on my phone. Oh I can make calls but receiving them is another story. Most of my text messages are also going to the other sim so I don't get them. The agents need training because this is unacceptable. The kicker for me was when I suggested to one of the agents that I may need another sim card.He told me I quote, " You need to go to Walmart and purchase another sim so we can get your phone to work". The reason my phone is not working is to no fault of mine and you want me to go buy a sim. No purchasing a. 99 cent sim is not a problem but why was it not offered to me. I have been with straight talk since 2009 and I honestly thought I would stay, but I can surly say that after this experience I will be finding another plan elsewhere soon. Finding people that know what they are doing and are passionate about the work they do is a must when working with customers. I do it every day and I can toot my own horn and say I know I am good at what I do. I needed to get my experience out and pray that my issue is resolve before my service end date is over. I am just tired. I will not recommend any one else to Straight talk and they 30 plus people that have followed me to straight talk over the years will be leaving with me.
I got a Straight Talk $35.00 plan, thinking it would be great because it "used all the other cell towers". Almost as soon as I got it, I wasn't able to make or receive calls or texts. This was horrible timing, as my daughter left for a vacation overseas and I came down with bronchitis. I was concerned for my daughter and couldn't even call her, and I was miserable with an illness and couldn't call my doctor. Google maps didn't work. Nothing worked. I spent nearly two weeks in isolation until my daughter came back and I was able to switch to Verizon, which works just fine.
I called Straight Talk and spent an hour on the phone with three different people trying to get my money back. I had their service for two weeks and wasn't even able to use it! They informed me that I needed to take it back to the store where I purchased it, which is a three-hour round-trip drive for me. I told them that wasn't possible, and would they please refund my money. They acknowledged that they could see I hadn't made or received calls in that time period, yet they wouldn't refund my money.
I ended up driving back to the store after I recovered from my illness, only to be told it had to have been returned within two weeks. They wouldn't refund my money and advised me to call Straight Talk. Useless.
I just gave Straight Talk $35.00 of my hard-earned money for ZERO service!
This is a HORRIBLE company with HORRIBLE customer service! DO NOT TRUST THEM OR THEIR SERVICE!
I called yesterday and was inquiring about why no one called me to let me know why phone I ordered a moro got canceled. I looked at order the man in sales put my billing address wrong. That's why I said to self. So I called asked for supervisor in sales. I got a female would not give me her ID number or name as I asked since she had no knowledge of miro 2022 moldle what made it better than 2021. She stated exactly this. ( it the moto 2022 has new particles in it?) I couldnt believe what I was experiencing. Particles I asked? Particles are debrie or particulit not electronics. I then asked for her supervisor she stated this exactally. ( We straight talk, dont do that antmore) I stated you dont transfer to your supervisors you wont give me your ID number or contact. I must say your not wanting me to explain what I'm experiencing with you. I was fed up. They did billing address wrong yet they take out 45.00 plus tax out of same card. Does this make since? Does oarticals fall under why a phone better. The incompetence was growing. This grew into nightmare. I decided my son works for att I'm going there. I did try to call back but I'm thinking got same person. I asked to talk to superior the girl with heavy accent hung up on me. I can only hope straight talk will see this review. This is so weird I would classify it strangest things. I bw leaving this 10 plus years of straight talk because well it's all here to understand why... it was terrible
0 stars. I've had straight talk for years. I work on my phone. My name is Marissa Cobbs and I have tried to keep two lines due to the fact that I work on my phone.
I have three lines with them now because I just recently lost my phones during an emergency situation.
I need my email to transfer my phone number over or answer verification questions.
I cannot get into my email because I need the phone number to verify my email. I cannot verify my account because I cannot get into that email nor can I verify numbers that I have called because I work on my phone and unfortunately am not close with my family.
I have my driver's license with all of my information on it that they have on file. They refuse to allow me to send a copy of my driver's license for verification purposes and because I cannot provide other people's phone numbers or get into my email, they refuse to transfer my number over. I logged into my straight talk "my account" application and I attempted to pay my phone bill, in which they did allow me to do for the phone number on file on my "my account." However, when I tried to activate this new phone and transfer that number over they would not allow me to do that. I have important information on both of those phones that I cannot get into because I cannot get into my email without my phone number that they refuse to transfer over. I activated my new phone with a new number and email address because I wasted my money buying this phone, however, I still need something for now. I will not be continuing my service with them next month. They are thieves and this is a law suit if I wanted to go further in action. This new phone that I bought is so slow that can't even watch videos. It's just pathetic and sickening how they treat someone whose been with them for years.
Also, they refuse to give me a refund so I had to contact my bank.
It has taken me two weeks to transfer service to US Mobile. Customer service at straighttalk is utterly incompetent.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I contacted straight talk wireless on May 17,2022 requesting a refund for my monthly bill since my device was suddenly no longer compatible with their service which meant I would have to spend money not only on another month of service, but also on a new device which I had not been forewarned about. The representative I spoke to on May 17,2022 advised me that the refund had been processed & I would see it in my account in 1 to 2 business days, at most 5 business days. I contacted Straight Talk today, May 19,2022 to inquire about the status of my refund. I was advised that the refund was not going to be processed due to having ported my number to another company. However, when I spoke to the representative on May 17th, I confirmed with him more than once that not only would I receive my refund in 1 to 2 and up to 5 business days, but that my phone number was also transferable for up to 90 days. Each time I confirmed this with the representative the answer was yes, I would receive my refund and I could transfer my phone number. At no point was it advised that I would have to remain with Straight Talk in order to receive my refund. Also on May 17th when I was attempting to transfer my phone number, Straight Talk then required that I spend an additional $11.46 for 7 days worth of service in order to have my number transferred. This means I am still technically a customer of Straight Talk, I simply do not have an active device at this time. I spoke with Juan in their corporate office and was advised I would not be receiving my refund, and when I asked to speak to a supervisor he told me straight out no he would not transfer me to anyone else, and when I advised I would like to file a complaint against him as well as representative who gave me incorrect information his response was "go for it." This company has no problem taking people's money but yet will trick them out of their refunds when they ask for them.
I got a Hotspot 2 years ago I go to buy a plan and it doesn't work they tell me I need a new Sim card which I get and it still doesn't work 0/10 this is ridiculous
I have been waiting on a phone replacement for several months and when I finally get someone on the phone the keep transferring me and then the call ALWAYS discounts.
Every month regardless of the fact that I paid my bill they shut my phone off and argue with me all day even though I have proof I paid
You still get the great service and download speeds of the major providers, but at a much lower cost. WIN WIN!
I am so glad I read these reviews because I thought maybe I was the only one having problems. Guess I was wrong.
Back in January my uncle try calling my straight talk cellphone but my cellphone never got call from my uncle that day.
Straight Talk has horrible service as well as horrible customer service! Absolutely not worth the money!
I ordered a new phone from Straight Talk that was supposed to arrive in 2 days. Received notice it would be delayed and needed a phone so I went to Walmart and purchased one. When the phone I ordered arrived, I returned the package, unopened. They say the refund could take up to 2 billing cycles... I was generous and gave them 3. When no refund showed in my account, I contacted customer service. I provided my order number (including a screen shot of the order confirmation) and the return UPS tracking number (including a photo of the ticket). I had checked UPS tracking and the item had been received and signed for at the center in TN. They dragged their feet and kept passing me off to different people over the course of 3 weeks. During that time, the UPS tracking limit of 120 passed and they claimed they couldn't prove it arrived. Then one of the people I spoke to said he found confirmation of the return and would elevate my claim to the next level and I should receive a refund in within 48 hours. That time came & went and nothing. I contacted them again and the whole process started again. I contacted the BBB and 2 days later, Straight Talk contacted me... but nothing changed. I haven't received any refund and communication from them has stopped as well. I paid $300 for a phone that wasn't even opened. This all resulted from them not delivering my order on time in the first place. I am a single father of 2 and although it might seem like a small amount, the money has a strong impact on my family. I have been a loyal Straight Talk customer for at least 10 years, but that will end if they don't refund the money they owe me. I have spent hours dealing with something that should have been automatic. EXTREMELY disappointed.
I had straight talk for about 4 years. My service use to be good now it's fallen apart instead of getting better
-5 stars. Straight talk has no warning that you cannot switch carriers without a service plan active. Thieves
How does anyone get the help by calling StraightTalk's customer service number? They hang up on you repeatedly,
Answer: Cheaper than ATT for a landline. I never thought of the problems I am having trying to get service started. I don't know how they stay in business considering the gift fact that Verizon owns them.
Answer: I've been pretty consistently able to get a hold of them. As far as them being helpful not at all.
