I've spent numerous dollars with straight talk. Only to be disrespected to the point of no return with customer service/support. I've literally spent the last 4 days (all day) trying to get my phone activated & have spoke with at least 15-20 different ppl! (Unless they're giving fake names) only to be hung up on mid conversation. Or during being transferred to a higher up supposedly "management" so they say. It honestly feels like a joke is being played & they are all in on it together. It got to the point of me giving a different first name, because as soon as I say my name or number they hang the phone up. Or don't take my call seriously. Kept walking me through the same steps for 4 freaking days! And my phone is still not activated. It's time for a new service. With a base who cares and value their customers.
Customer service sucks they hang up on ya time after time. If you have a problem you'll get to talk to no supervisor because they say there's not one tomorrow when I call corporate and we'll get to the end of this everybody. I'll talk to my hope is fired if they can understand English.
OK, so we get StraightTalk phones fo our office, most times they work great, but when they don't... they don't and there is no help. Or the help is so basic you are better off searching the vastness of the internet to find your answers. That being said, it is a good deal IF you do not depend on your phones for business.
Had this service for over 3 years on the same phone, nothing but trouble. Finally decided to switch providers. They informed me I could not unless I had service for over a year. I have it over 3 years. During my time with them, voice mail would not work, calls kept getting dropped, inside their service area, and more. Could never get anyone who spoke English well enough to understand the issues. Would not recommend to anyone.
I had issues with having to buy a new plan when I already had active service and then my service was interrupted before it was up for renewal. I guess I'm part to blame, but they really need to streamline things. You have to jump through to many hoops to correct issues. You have to give an authentication code before they can do anything. Total pain in the rear. Especially if your phone is broken. You will be on the hook for a new plan even if you have minutes remaining.
SMS verification codes we're not working for a week and cause a lot of problems for me. I just figured it out today and got them to fix it but they refuse to reimburse me for the past week simply because I did not call them a week ago to tell him what the problem was. How could I possibly call them and tell him what the problem is if I didn't even figure it out till yesterday. Customer service sent me around in circles and circles and refuses to give me any sort of reimbursement for paying for services that don't work.
First of all, I can't even tell you how many times I've called and no one can seem to verify me and ever help me. I switched my phone number over to a new phone number as you can do with your same phone and over thirty times tried and every security question I give is wrong. I now consistently lose the ability to text people or call people which means zero service and no one can help me because I'm unverified. My husband bought me a new phone because I can't use this one and I'm not receiving any support and realized I have autopay. I cannot shut it off though because I cannot add my "active" phone to a straight talk website without errors no matter what I try. They will not shut it off without the same three security questions such as what's your dad's middle name and it's wrong. I messaged someone via chat who assured me auto refill is off and guess what it is not. Now I have to change my entire debit card because everyone that works literally has a brain the size of a worm.
My service was interrupted with no explanation from straight talk. Their customer service is the absolute worst EVER! Forget trying to call the customer service number. I am paying for service that they interrupted, yet they think I can text them with responses! Save yourself A LOT of stress and go with a different carrier. My husband and I have tried to resolve this and after two days still no phone service. We can't even switch to another carrier because they won't give us the transfer number. The manager of the store with the new carrier we are going to was amazed at how horrible straight talk is. He spent over two hours trying to help us switch over. Next stop a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. -5 stars would be a good rating for straight talk.
Every time I deal with their customer support it's horrible. Yesterday I tried entering a plan and the card's numbers are not always clear. The number would not go through. I had to call. You get someone from a different country and they speak broken English and it's very difficult to understand. She runs through the numbers and decided to transfer me. Took 4 minutes to transfer and the new person, I had to start all over again. 18 minutes of broken English not understanding, when it can easily been resolved in 3 with a it's all fixed. Thank you! Instead it's blah blah blah! The cellular service is great everything else just sucks!
I am disabled and am below the poverty line so I use my cell phone to watch TV programs news or just plain surf the web. Since I only draw less than $800 a month I figured that unlimited data would cover be my best option but since 60 gigs is the new unlimited I am sitting in the library parking lot using their wifi to post this. Straighttalk has outgrown their original mission the customer service socks if can even understand what they are saying and they are changing the definition of words I was taught years ago
Very slow service and the internet keeps dropping so I'm giving him a negative review because when you call them if you don't respond immediately they hang up in your face and your phone goes slow even though you have unlimited their their service is a joke they say unlimited when it's really not is it and my cousin has had to call them multiple times and has literally gotten hateful with them because they want to refuse to do nothing about their screw up let me post it
I recognize that writing a negative review about straight talk is like throwing dirt on dirt, but these people are genuinely the worst. The support is beyond belief, they even tell you on the phone you are most likely to get cut off, and they mean it, so kudos to being upfront. I spent over two months trying to resolve an issue, maybe 5 hours on the phone, and must have been cut off two dozen times. Even now, they claim the issue is resolved, but I've not seen it. How are these people still in business?!?!?!?
This service is horrible, from the automated service which kept disconnecting after providing information, down to the live representatives. Spoke with Marlon, that had my information as far as my phone number, he pretended to check my phone number and disconnected the call and did not call me back. Went through the process online as far as transferring my telephone number, completed all the information, received an all done. Later a text message saying that the pin on my activation card was incorrect. Did a live chat with Paul, provided my information, them informed that I needed to speak to someone from CS, that will call in 15 minutes. It's now been almost an hour and no call. Considering counting it a lost on my $45 card and staying with my current provider, if customer service and activation is this aggravating!
I have been with this company for several years and had no issues, but due to budget constraints, I needed to transfer to a different service provider. StraightTalk is refusing to manually transfer my families phone numbers to the new provider until a full week after we initiated the process even though they have the ability to do so now. Avoid this company at all costs.
Bought a sim card to replace my canadian one since I was going to be in the States for an extended period.
Needed to spend 2 hours with tech support the first day in order to get data working. Called a week later because I could not make calls to Canada even though it was included in the package. Spent approximately 4 hours on the phone with tech support because when they tried to resolve the calls to Canada problem, they disabled my data. Got the data to work but not the international calls. A week later, lost data once again. Spent over 15 hours on the phone with tech support over 3 days to resolve the issue. They could not do it, although SOME agents had obviously been able to resolve the issue the 2 last times. Massive incompetence. Just decided to throw the sim card away and to make sure that everyone knows it is a $#*! company.
Straight talk is absolutely horrible to get through to for a transfer pin! They hang up on you constantly and are absolutely rude! They need to not be a service provider! Got lied to multiple times over the last few days! Even by the higher ups
Straight Talk used to be a good phone service but for a while now they have become the worst phone service I have ever dealt with. My phone is constantly kicked offline. Only works about a third of the time, if even that much. Definitely going t ok another phone service asap.
I had brand new blu 3 30 days old, 16 days left on service and I could not make calls or text, everything else on phone worked, I put 40 hrs into fixing that phone on wait with service rep with no fix, I couldn't understand a thing she said the whole time, the same woman to 1 woman on the whole team? Sad I dropped them
I bought a iPhone 15 for my wife for her birthday but the phone was reported stolen for some reason even though I have the paperwork to prove I paid for it then they said the turn around would be 72 hours to get that fixed so she has to go without a phone for that long unacceptable I'm going to try and get a full refund for the phone shouldn't have a bought it to begin with
We (my boyfriend and I) both purchased Silver plan, but we cannot connect our devices (iphone 12) when it's supposed to be compatible. We call the support line, they told us our provider in Canada is not covered by them so our purchases are useless. Can't refund us, walmart won't refund us. Straight Talk suggests us to buy a phone from them, when our trip is 7 days in the US. Or to sell the cards to somebody that will use them, we don't know anybody in the US.
Answer: Cheaper than ATT for a landline. I never thought of the problems I am having trying to get service started. I don't know how they stay in business considering the gift fact that Verizon owns them.
Answer: I've been pretty consistently able to get a hold of them. As far as them being helpful not at all.
