My hairstylist is independent and doesn't work for a salon. She rents a stall at a salon. When I would need to make an appointment, I had to text her and it took forever going back and forth to make an appointment. Since she joined Styleseat, I can view her calendar and make an appointment easily. I told her thank goodness she signed up for this service because I don't think I could've handled any more text appointments eventhough she's the best stylist for my hair type.
Have had multiple issues with the service, from "stylist" not showing but still charging me, to stylist agreeing on one price only to tip themselves generously without asking me first. Stay far away

As a beauty professional, I pride myself on providing excellent service to my clients, but I'm increasingly frustrated with the way StyleSeat operates. I've been using this platform for some time now, and while it has its benefits, the fee structure has become a significant concern for me.
To start, the new client fee of 30% on every booked appointment is quite steep. It disheartens me to think that after pouring my heart and soul into my work, I'm only left with a fraction of what I earn. It feels discouraging when I realize that I'm only seeing about 2/3 of my gross pay after StyleSeat takes their cut.
On top of the new client fee, there's also a transaction fee that StyleSeat charges, and this is in addition to the fees charged directly to the clients for booking. It feels like a never-ending cycle of expenses, and it raises my eyebrows that they even take a cut from my tips. This is particularly saddening considering how hard I work to earn those tips.
When I finally start to account for my costs—supplies, products, and overhead expenses—the reality is that I'm not left with much. I can't stress enough how demotivating it is to see my income dwindling due to these high fees. I want to provide the best for my clients, but the current structure makes it challenging to sustain a profitable business.
I believe that it's time for StyleSeat to reconsider their fee policies, especially for new clients. While I understand the need for a platform to cover its costs, this model ultimately leaves beauty professionals like me feeling undervalued and overburdened. Here's hoping they can find a way to create a more balanced fee structure that supports rather than hinders our success.

I am a hairstylist and I use the platform to market my business to help generate leads and new clients.
On 01/27/24, I booked an appointment with "Tee" for a natural style. Her page states she does natural styles; and that she can bring your vision to life. On 02/01/24, I emailed to confirm her address.
She asked what kind of style I wanted. I was thinking that she could do natural curly styles; since she didn't have any pictures of her "natural" work.
She then told me to Google a style, started speaking unprofessionally to me, and blocked me.
She continued to unblock and harass me throughout the next day.
I reported her and she's still at it.
She does hair out of a small shack. Other reviewers stated that her kitchen was nasty.
Please be ware of "Tee" that does locs/braids in Oklahoma.
Tip for consumers:
Don't book with "Tee" in Oklahoma.

I began seeing a new stylist who used Styleseat to book her apps. And that didn't SIT well with me from the beginning because SS charges me/you THE CUSTOMER $2. I feel like THE STYLIST is employing SS to book her appts and SHE should pay them or SS should get it from their client. I liked her work so I was a suckered and paid 3 times for appt with her on top of a 20% tip which I also felt like deducting $2 from but thought I would seem petty. Here's the thing, what do I get for my $2 from SS!? Except warnings of charges i automatically get if I'm late, or cancel last minute or don't show up. Once my stylist was texting me she was on her way as I waited outside her door for my appt. Not cool. The last straw was my last booking when I was half way there for 3pm appt and she texted saying she'd have to move the appt to 1 1/2hour later. Told her that won't work and immediately got online to let SS know and tell them there better not be one penny charged to me from either of them. I will NEVER pay to book an appt with a stylist again. NEVER
Styleseat is an app that scammers flourish in using because regardless if services are rendered or not, you will be charged! Many of the stylist aren't real and customer service is 100% nonexistent. Styleseat doesn't refund any funds only the stylist or scammer can, and they won't because they don't have to. The app is completely useless. It gives you 0% of protection. You're giving theives your bank information freely to be scammed. Legal action need to be addressed.
Tip for consumers:
This website has scammers on it

I had booked an appointment on a sunday morning. Selected the services and since i wanted a travelling stylist, i selected the travel fee. I then realized (after booking), the ad showed the artist address ( which is over 50 miles away). I then used the style seat messenger ans sent a few messages to the stylist (of course no response). A few hours went by( i re messaged with no response). Then I get a "completed appointment" message. This crook not only charged me fully for the appointment, she still charged me for a travel fee and then tacked on a 50.00 tip! Styleseat only offered the artist to refund me, but her response was " no refunds"
Do NOT use this site as they will not help
I had to report fraud to my cc
Do not add your credit card to this app. If you happen to get a shady stylist, they have the ability to charge you without your consent! I was charged a "no show" and "late" fee ($75) because they didn't communicate the correct location and subsequently cancelled my appointment through the app without notice. Styleseat support did not help whatsoever. Terrible service.
The issue is paying for a booking fee then having your card charged and the tip added automatically. This should all be manual. If the provider cancels, you as a customer is screwed because styleseat will not refund your booking fees and good luck getting your money back. Additionally, some provider ask to be paid in cash then you're double charged and style seat may or may not refund you. And then if you're not happy with the service then too bad because styleseat automatically charges 20% tip, ridiculous
This is the biggest scam. We bought a hair service for 135 dollars, and when we saw the receipt, it said that our total was 195 dollars! We contacted customer support and they said "StyleSeat will charge a small service fee." But we had no idea about this. And when we went to cancel our appointment, it said that we had to pay a 50-dollar cancellation fee! There are so many hidden fees, that it's almost not fair!
Stylist right away appeared kind but didn't trust her. Was charged a booking fee and you pay for the balance if you pay on style seat I guess. Well the hair dresser was not aware of the holding fee or booking fee, either way I get it back if I paid in cash like she wanted, but noooooo she charged my daughter the entire fee and not the remainder. I'm not in business to just give out money and work hard. I wonder who runs this company because it is so unprofessional. I will be disputing with fc and bank as well.
I'm not sure who to blame, the software or stylist. Services are list but after booking and adding your credit card information can you book only to find out the stylist does not offer the service. Someone needs to figure it out.
They told me they would take $6 as a "hold" on my debit card for an appointment. Charged me $556. No customer service to call just general emails stating they had no clue. I had to report them to the ftc and report fraud through my bank to receive a refund!

Clearly it's just a scam site whatever you pay for up front they're going to say they don't do that service and you can't get a refund because your past your appointment time don't waste your money find a normal person to do your hair because this one is a total scam
Book an appointment with Curl da World a month in advance in February 2023 with Ashleigh Owens. 2 hours before my appointment I received a cancellation notification as well as a text from the stylist. I text her back and ask her why was my appointment cancel.
She reply that she want be able to do my hair because I obtain service from another stylist.
And that its creating awkwardness between them.
My reply was if you are book and I have an event to attend or just want my hair fix why is it an issue?
If you are book, or you have things plan with your kids etc etc It should not be a problem to let another available stylist to assist.
This shop is extremely very unprofessional
I was advise by Ashleigh to book my appointment at another salon,
The jealous and envy is awful in this shop.
Tip for consumers:
If your stylist is book up in this shop
you are not allow and you are forbidding to
utilize another stylist in this shop,,,
BEWARE of Ashleigh Owens

Tried to add my Salon: Southern Girl Luxe Hair and contacted support 1st time because my password would not reset and work. Support responded in 2 days (too long).
Next issue same day I have been unable to add services so I have 2 profiles for 2 accounts and can't book appointments!
First the save button was faded and would not allow me to click on it. This was a 5 day problem that would not clear. It has now been an additional 5 days and all I have gotten is an automated response of "sorry for the delay... high issues to resolve... will get with you as soon as we can.
It has been 2 weeks and no support given to resolve this issue and I just emailed asking to delete both of my accounts.
Well, I immediately received 2 marketing text messages within 5 minutes offering me a "profile boost" saying how stylists benefit when they stay on Styleseat.
I just got this email from them right as I was about to submit this review.
Styleseat has been highly detrimental to the success of my new business.
If I continue waiting for them to get me up and running on their booking app I would lose far more business than I already have.
This is what happens when you deal with tech people who raise a crap load of start up capital pitching a "great app idea" to investors and don't take care of the customer service side of business.
Styleseat is making an extraordinary amount of money every month without having to offer good customer service and most importantly by not talking to their "valued customers".
It's time to cancel Styleseat. Too many other booking apps out their to be ignored by Styleseat.
Tip for consumers:
Don’t use if customer service and your business is important to you.
Most of their "professionals" are scammers who don't provide any services, don't respond to your emails or messages and then GET YOUR MONEY from cancellation of your appointment. They're not even real businesses with real addresses. DONT TRUST THEM. I just lost $40 on a scam artist from this website, don't repeat my mistakes.
Booked on the site and drove to the appointment. The stylist did not work there anymore, and left months ago and SS was not updated. DO NOT USE unless you know your stylist still works there and exists! I contacted the stylist on Facebook and she said she tried MANY TIMES to take herself off of SS but the system won't let her. Make sure they don't charge you for services you never received!
I used the scheduling app for the first time around 5:30 am this morning 5/17/23. The app advertised booking fee of less than $3 indicating fees are charged after services rendered. I could not locate the address of the Salon I booked the appointment at on the site until I booked the appoint after adding my American Express card to the site. After the address was revealed I cancelled the appointment within 2 min. I then received a notification of a charge on my Amex card for 39.00 by StyleSeat app. Next I received an email from StyleSeat notifying me that they charged me a cancellation fee of $39.00 This all happened between 5:45 and 5:48 am. I reached out to Style Seat by email and they responded and indicated that the salon stylist had to issue the credit. The Salon owner says it was not within her ability to reverse the fee. I want at least $36.00 of the charge credited. The site did not reveal the address of salon until after I scheduled the appointment and advertised a booking fee of $3.00 or less.
I was feeling quite tense and stressed before heading to the spa, but I left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. The masseuse was very experienced and knowledgeable, and the massage was tailored to my individual needs. I would highly recommend BESTBODYMASSAGE spa to anyone looking for a luxurious and soothing massage experience.
Tip for consumers:
It was truly a relaxing experience! The massage therapist was very skilled and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere of the spa was calming and peaceful. I felt incredibly at ease and would definitely recommend BESTBODYMASSAGE spa to anyone looking for a quality massage session.

I'm a professional cosmetologist, and I recently started doing business with StyleSeat. I've had a few clients get booked for an appointment, and they were charged immediately. I got a notification stating that the clients had been charged and my money will be dispersed in two days. The next day I received a notification stating that the clients had been charged for a tip, as well. Fast forward, it's been a week and I haven't received anything in my bank account. I've called the number to speak with someone and it's not a live representative to speak to. I've emailed them, which is also an automatic messenger. I received an automatic email stating to log on to the website and go to the helpline. I've contacted them several times regarding my money, and I haven't heard anything from them. I don't know when they'll disperse my money, but it's bad business. I believe that they are scammers and it's unfortunate that I had to find out like this. If anyone is considering doing business with them, proceed with caution. The only reason I rated it a star is that I couldn't submit my review. Other than that I wouldn't give them a star because they don't deserve anything but to be cursed out.
I scheduled an appointment with a stylist. The stylist emailed ME and informed me under the 24 hour deadline that the appointment was going to have to be rescheduled. I informed her that I could only come the next day or the appointment would have to be canceled so I could find someone else to book. Well the stuff read my message and never responded. I emailed Styleseat with screenshots of the email and the text messages of stylist attempting to reschedule through messages and emailing me after the 24 hour deadline and all they told me was that their team was not able to cancel appointments. That I would have to reach out to the stylist to cancel or reschedule the appointment since it's past the 24 hour mark. Again, I have reached out to the stylist and I have not gotten a reply from her. So what is the next step? They have an awesome way to make sure their stylist don't get scammed but what about paying customers? It also gave menthe option to cancel the appointment if I payed 50% of the appointment fee. I'm not really understanding how I have to pay for something when I was prepared and ready for my appointment but my stylist was the one who wanted to cancel/reschedule. So i'm supposed to still pay her 50% without getting a service provided to me? This whole thing sounds like a scam and I will be deleting my account after this is resolved. I've been on this site for years because my previous hairstylist used this platform but i've moved to a new area and needed someone new. I see now this site is not reliable or trustworthy.
