Sunbasket has been great for our family. We have been using them every week for 3+ years. Ingredients are high quality and fresh. Shipments are well packaged. Menu options strike a good balance between creative new options and keeping weekly favorites available. One thing that also stands out is their customer service - shipments are typically perfect but if there is ever a problem, customer service is easy to access via well designed self service portal, online text messaging with a real human, or phone. Any problems I've had have always been resolved to my satisfaction (ie quick refunds or credits issued, free meals, etc). Highly recommend!
After receiving my first Sun Basket delivery containing rotting, limp produce and herbs, I immediately sent an email to cancel my account and received a confirmation. The next week, I came home to find another delivery on my doorstep that I was charged for! More poor quality ingredients including rotting swiss chard. I called Customer Service and they claimed to have not received my email, although I received a confirmation email from them. Stay away from this terrible company!
I just moved to the Bay Area for an amazing but very demanding new job. Thought I'd make it easier on myself by ordering good healthy food. No dice. The food just never came, but they keep me busy with emails and excuses. Guess I would have known had I read other reviews I'm seeing now. Save yourself the trouble, find another service (please let me know which one works!)
I went onto sun basket to check out their menu. Somehow without me knowing my account was reactivated. I never received any email or notification. I only found out when my PayPal account was charged $80. I immediately contacted sun basket and out in a claim with PayPal. Of course they did not get back to me until it was too late to cancel the order according to them. I never even received an email letting me know an order had been placed. They have refused to refund my money. I find this to be poor customer service and dishonest business practice. If the only way they can get business is by deceiving people I think it says something about their product. I would advise not going on their site at all.

They sent me a box that I had cancelled and then refused to make it right. Said they would give me 1/2 of the $85 dollar charge. Customer service is horrible, long wait times and poor resolutions. I am going to make sure people are warned about this company
Always fresh! Always delivered on time! Easy preparation and fun to prepare. My husband has prepared several of the meals also. First time he has ever made an entire dinner. Every meal has been delicious! Very thankful for this service..

Watch out for their "coupon". I got 60% off and scheduled it for about 3 weeks later since those were the meals I wanted. Got an email that I got 86 dollars off my first delivery. Cool. When it was time to be charged for it they charged me the full amount (143 freaking dollars). I don't think so. You also can't cancel on their website like every other service out there. You have to call or contact them. I have no idea how the food tastes and I don't even care. They are terrible. There are plenty of these services out there who are better than this and don't make you jump through hoops to cancel. The most you can do without contacting them is skipping 6 weeks. Avoid avoid avoid.

I ordered 6 meals and I received an ill packed box, barely cold proteins and 1 small steak, one small chicken breast, and small package of shrimp that was supposed to complete 6 meals?
This is the worst box from a food delivery service I have ever received!
I switched fro Home Chef because wanted to new menus and what a mistake!

Great recipes. Amazing food. Easy to prepare. Overall 10 in my opinion. During the quarantine/pandemic my 12 year old son learned how to cook by making my sun basket dinners each night. It was safely delivered to my house and we ordered 3-4 meals per week. My son and I will keep ordering! Thanks!
When I was trying to cancel my subscription last week, the only thing I could find on their website to cancel was to send an email to *******@sunbasket.com. I emailed them well before the deadline for the next box to be shipped. I have proof of the email sent, but I never received a confirmation. I then get a notification yesterday that I was charged 78 dollars for a delivery next week... are you kidding me?! Now they are saying they won't refund me because the payment was already put through, even though the box hasn't even shipped yet according to the tracking information on the FedEx website. Definitely sticking to HelloFresh after this whole thing... it's ridiculous that I won't get reimbursed for a mistake made on THEIR end.

Gave it a shot hoping it might be better than blue apron. Ingredient came rotten. After initial order updated to skip future delivery. Apparently not that was not updated properly and got charged for it. Once charged they say they cannot cancel even though they don't ship for 5 or 6 days.

I was unable to get anybody on the phone. The texting service and email service do not reply to the issue you talked about. They charged me shipping when the shipping should have been free. The order came a day late and the meats were completely thawed out. The customer service may be horrible due to the virus. However, I have learned my lesson and will not try a food delivery service again. It's easier just to do a pick up at Food Lion or Walmart.

I love to cook delicious food with fresh ingredients, and Sunbasket helps me to do that every week. The recipes are delicious, not too complex to prepare on a weeknight, and the ingredients are organic. Meals are satisfying and nutritious, even my kids have become adventurous eaters because this food is so good. I love picking my menu and knowing that I'm going to love any option; the variety & spices have kept me happy for a year and a half. I'm a very satisfied customer!
I cannot believe how much they charge compared to the quality of the commodities. Groceries are usually in poor shape when they arrive and do not last more than two days for produce. The prep times listed should be doubled. I have worked in commercial kitchens for 30 years and have yet to do a meal in the time suggested.

I have tried most all of the meal kit delivery services (blue apron, home chef, sun basket, green chef and plated) and by far Sun Basket is the worst one. Not only is the customer service terrible but it's more expensive than most others while the ingredients are of the same or lower quality. I received wilted produce and rotten fish and "customer service" would only refund $10. I recommend any of the other meal services mentioned above instead of Sun Basket

The food is incredible; we feel as though we are going to a different upscale restaurant with every meal. So many different countries and nationalities covered with the menu options. So far SunBasket is my favorite - good quality food, easy to follow recipes, less packaging than Hello Fresh. Also egg free, soy free, and gluten free options. Even if you don't continue the service, you will get some really good recipes to do over and over again :)

Delivery was fine and boxes are well insulated with dry ice so the food stays fresh in hot weather. The non-oven direct meals were a bit involved so prep wasn't quick. Ingredients were all good, healthy and fresh, but unfortunately after perhaps 10 meals, I didn't find any that I'm really interested in eating again. It's not that the food is bad, it's just bland and not wildly delicious as they advertise. I've had Trader Joe's frozen food which while not as healthy, tastes better. Also had an issue with one of the ice bags leaking from the box onto our wood floor, that's annoying and hopefully it hasn't damaged it.

I bought two gift cards for friends through Sun Basket. I thought they'd be decent since Williams Sonoma is promoting them on their website. Both recipients had terrible customer service experiences. When their orders didn't come up to the $100 I gifted them, Sun Basket wouldn't refund them (or me, the buyer) the $20 balances. They only want subscriptions, they don't care about someone who places a single-meal order, even as a gift. I have no idea how the food is; one recipient was so upset she told me to cancel and get a refund.
Best meal kit delivery service. All products are fresh and the meals aren't boring. Definitely recommend. I also like how you can add things from the market if you're just not feeling any of the kits. I've also never had a bad fresh and ready meal, the cauliflower Mac is my favorite. We just recently started stocking the short rib burgers too, soooo good.
I first signed up for sun basket in early 2017. Its been my favorite meal delivery out of all of them. The meals are unique and still made in a reasonable amount of time. However, as of 2018 their menus have changed. They now charge extra for organic, when this is supposed to be an organic brand to begin with! Now the box costs over $80 per week. I'm sorry but I can go to trader joe's and spend that same amount and have food for a week without having to eat out at all. I will most likely be canceling my membership.

Charged before sending your order to you. After trying the first order - we canceled but they had already taken our $80 from our credit card. Guess we are stuck with the next order but very disappointed so far with the first 2 meals we received. I can do better in the grocery stores. Too expensive - not good quality of food and tastes bland. Hello Fresh was far superior to this company.

We've been getting Sunbasket for the past five years and I have to say, we've never appreciated it more than we have during the pandemic. Knowing we have healthy, delicious, flavorful AF meals to look forward to at the end of an uncertain day has been a certain comfort.
