Sunbasket has been great for our family. We have been using them every week for 3+ years. Ingredients are high quality and fresh. Shipments are well packaged. Menu options strike a good balance between creative new options and keeping weekly favorites available. One thing that also stands out is their customer service - shipments are typically perfect but if there is ever a problem, customer service is easy to access via well designed self service portal, online text messaging with a real human, or phone. Any problems I've had have always been resolved to my satisfaction (ie quick refunds or credits issued, free meals, etc). Highly recommend!
After receiving my first Sun Basket delivery containing rotting, limp produce and herbs, I immediately sent an email to cancel my account and received a confirmation. The next week, I came home to find another delivery on my doorstep that I was charged for! More poor quality ingredients including rotting swiss chard. I called Customer Service and they claimed to have not received my email, although I received a confirmation email from them. Stay away from this terrible company!
The pics on the Sunbasket site make everything look inviting and tasty - I'll give 'em that.
The reality was the complete opposite. The 12 different premade meals I received looked pretty much the same and tasted pretty much the same. The worst was the spicy black bean quinoa bowl. The black beans were RAW... down right crunchy and inedible... there was little if any spice in the meal and the jar of salsa roja provided was lack luster with the spice of a Taco Bell salsa packet.

We enjoyed the food and varity of options. I'm GF and we used that and Paleo options. The trouble started the third week into our subscription. The order was a day late but food was fresh and cold. It appeared from tracking that the delay was from the shipper. This week my order hasn't been delivered and the tracking says it hasn't gone out yet. I have no luck with all the automated contact. There's no personal service and no way to resolve a situation like mine. Very disappointed. Cancelling and will try another service.
-After I wrote this review Sunbasket contacted me and all the issues were resolved. They more than made up for the problems and I decided to continue with their service.

I've tried two other service and Sunbasket by far offers so much more variety and delicious meals. I am relieved when my box shows up and I don't have to think about what to do for dinner.

I received a notification, from Paypal, that I made a payment to Sunbasket. I thought that couldn't be because I skipped each week. I do that regularly. I looked and apparently my skips had been placed back to approved orders. I did not go into my account to change them over to approved orders. So I tried talking to customer service to cancel it and refund the money but they gave me several awful excuses as to why I wasn't getting a refund. One of the excuses exposed them as liars. Telling me that I couldn't stop the order because they already started my order but later said that I could change my meals. But if they started my order, how could they change my food? I am going to send a complaint to Paypal and see if they can help.

As we are a subscription-based service, we have a very strict cutoff time and can not make changes or modifications past the cutoff time. We were willing to make a one-time exception for you and change your recipe selection, which you declined. We also offered you a courtesy refund, which you declined.
Truly appalled. The packaging is horrendous, flimsy brown bags that don't hold up to anything, especially the melting frozen water bottles thrown in the box. The freshness of the produce is questionable at best. The romaine lettuce, from the DAY I RECEIVED the box, August 13th, was wilted and brown. Reverting back to the packaging, the box, BEFORE I OPENED IT, was leaking fish/shrimp smelling liquid... which is now all over my refrigerator, thanks for that. I am actually regretting giving y'all a chance. I will stick with Hello Fresh. Now, to figure out what to make my kids for dinner since I have read other reviews and I am now afraid to feed it to my kids. Thank goodness I have Hello Fresh coming next week, they have NEVER disappointed!

Customer service and policies forced us into paying for meals that we could not eat. Please don't try this service regardless of what promos you may see. They will get you in the long run.

I am sorry but I received 2 weeks of deliveries and I didnt eat one thing out of those boxes. First and foremost my packaging wasnt even close to your pics. I had 1 lonely freezer block in the not so insulated box. I temped the protein the second I opened it only to find all were out of the danger zone and god only knows for how long. For those of you ignorant in food safety the zone is 41-135 degrees. In that zone bacteria grows exponentially. My proteins arrived anywhere from 48 to 56. They are going to really mess up someones digestive track not to mention salmonella and ecoli. The mirepoix(finely diced carrots, onion and celery was putrid. At least a week old cut. And all of the (fresh herbs) were not fresh at all. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. I am a C. E. C. And know quality. This is far from it.

Not only do they use all eco friendly packaging, they are always coming up with new items. Though their meal for one menu is a bit lacking.
Their customer service is hands down the best in the biz.
I found out about SunBasket from my sister. She raved about it so i thought i'd give it a try. I ordered the Paleo menu cause my wife wanted meals low carb. We live in Florida so it's freakin hot in August! The temp of my food was a concern. So our first order came on Tuesday afternoon around 4:00pm. I unboxed my food and realized one of the entree's was missing! I called customer service and the guy told me they would credit my next order $25.00. The first two meals were good but the produce did'nt look very good afer the first day! I actually went to the store and bought the missing entree and fixed the third dish. I really wish i had'nt! The recipe was horrible.We couldnt even eat it! I'm expecting three new dishes on Tuesday Hoping it will be better! I'll review again at the end of the week.

All the meals seem to be very bland and oddly put together as far as ingredients. The packaging and everything else was great, just not impressed with the overall recipes. Tried it for two weeks.

I have tried at least 2 other food prep companies and Iusy say that Sun Baskets customer service is the best! I also love their food, their eco friendly packaging (as pictured below)and their price!
I received a box of warm food that had bugs in it. The bell peppers were cracked and not fresh. The meat was not cool. The entire box went to the dump. Scary stuff.

I decided to try SunBasket again since the pandemic has taken another turn and the holidays are here so grocery stores are busier. I ordered two meals. Should have been $53 (estimated). I got a charge on my credit card of $77! I'm getting some beans and an egg, and a two pieces of fish. Seriously? I could actually do the same meal for under $25. I tried the chat... had same experience as everyone else and it just ran me around in circles. Let's do be clear about one thing, folks. We are into this pandemic now for what, 8? 9 months? Are you seriously believing that poor customer services is still related to covid? Uh... seems a bit off to me. Seems to me the perfect way to not have to address the poor business practice and quality issues (which is why I left last time. My food always had an inedible something in the box)... It's been two years since I used the service. I'm done. Cancelled. Will probably give the overpriced fish and beans away. SunBasket is a true joke. Poor business. Wish I could give minus five stars!

I too am very disappointed. I have been using this service for about a year and in the beginning they were excellent. The food was always fresh & delicious. I loved the organic angle and the fact that the sauces were pre-made (saves a little time). However over the past 4-5 months it's been one thing after the next. Spoiled produce, sloppy packaging resulting in items spilled out in bag, substitutions, even sending ingredients to make your own sauce & some produce not marked organic (so now I question that). I started skipping all weeks & picking at last minute alternating with Blue Apron (not all organic but delicious and fresh + cheaper). Last week was the last straw with spoiled produce (its getting hot and that can only get worse); I cancelled (in writing-online). Of course they said sorry to see you go but if you come back we'll give you $20 off your next order. No thanks, that just kills what I had in mind here. Good food, all layed out for me to cook & enjoy. I will stick with Blue Apron and maybe try one of the others.
They are horrible at handling your account. Do not keep good records. It is impossible to find the cancellation policy online and they make it very hard to cancel.

Recipes good but produce is not. Opened box to overwhelming odor. Realized it was rotten soggy kale. Also avocado so hard it would take a week to ripen. I used my own avocado and threw away the kale
