The engine I purchased for $1,495.00 was not in working condition. When the engine arrived, it looked like it had been pulled from a junk yard, spray painted and shipped. It was missing parts, parts were cracked, and there were even broken plastic parts within the engine compartments. My mechanic was appalled by the condition in which the engine arrived and advised that after a closer inspection, he didn't know if it was worth trying to repair the broken parts. Since I needed my vehicle, my mechanic spent a lot of time cleaning out all of broken parts inside of the engine, not to mention replacing missing bolts, repairing the damaged hoses, and crankshaft pulley, to name a few. As a result, I had to spend approximately an extra $900.00 with my mechanic so he could replace parts before installing the engine. I also encountered storage fees as a result of SW Engines, not to mention the shipping delays for which no one could explain. SW Engines advised that the engine was put through quality control but there is no way in hell that engine went through quality control. Take a look at these photographs. Horrific experience.

Short and simple;; this is not a good company to deal with; they sold me an engine on 10 /25
It didnt arrive until a month later, found out it was no good, didnt know their ratings was so low. ITS BEEN( 7 MTHS) STILL HAVENT Driven MY VEHICLE...

I was invoiced and paid for a motor 20 days ago, I get the same story every time I call - waiting on shipper. I have left multiple messages for DALE JONES - a manager there and no return call, This place is a joke. Call LKQ or anyine but these folks..

S&W engines does not cover any warranty issues as they claim to. I bought a 5.9 diesel Cummins from them. They sent me a bad motor and they will not honor it. I sent them all the documentation they requested and sent videos of the engine smoking and they will not talk to me. They hang up on me. This is being an ongoing issue for six weeks. I cannot get through to anybody in management. I have spent over $9000 on this engine installation and I'm still stuck with a bad motor I should have never bought from them.! Disgusting company. Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. The #Warranty department is an Asian answering service and they ask the same stupid questions every time you call them and then they hang up on you and they said they're gonna connect you to management. That's how they operate.

Don't do any business with this company they are crooks. They do not honor their warranty. Bought a Transmission from them it was bad from the start. Tried to contact them for refund got no satisfaction. Called a number of times. Don't return your calls or they hang up on you. Bad Business.

Negative stars

If it were possible to leave negative stars this company would get negative a million. This company is 100% a SCAM. They will send you what you ordered, maybe a month later but you do get it, however you need to have the engine fully inspected while it's still on the pallet because they will try to keep your money by saying the warranty was void when the engine gets installed. Then when returning the item, they will NOT communicate with you on when the engine gets back to them, and they will try to keep your money, by telling you they will send the refund and then never doing it. This company hasn't done a SINGLE thing they have said they would. Don't waste your time or money on this company. They should be shut down for being scam artists.

They sent the wrong engines, then charge me a restocking fee $478 An never sent the right engine,Call them 20 times asking to speak to a supervisor never got a call. This is the worse company i ever had to deal with, Dont buy anything from them rip off

Wrong engine and Thieves

I ordered a 3.0 V6 from these people who were very spefic about needing my vin number to send me the correct engine.and said it would take 2 weeks to receive my engine. It took them almost 8 weeks to send the WRONG engine and than charged me a restocking fee and all the shipping I paid 1670 dollars for the wrong engine and only refunded 360 dollars.as my refund and they blamed me.
Biggest Thieves out there don't buy from these people..

Very unprofessional, asked me for a secured code from my bank that your told to not give out; representative told me it would be fine...she said then that she would email the invoice to me to e-signe and approve...she emailed me the invoice alright but it wasn't to verify and e-signe.
When I called back and spoke to a representative I was calm but upset and tried to explain my predicament...I was told to " $#*! off and Go $#*! myself" by a gentleman representative before being hung up on! % Facts here, no bs because I was unsatisfied...I'm no Karen! Just blown away is all!

I bought 2 engines from then for ford rangers and both of them we beat up when we got them and the timing chains were broke and laying in bottom valves bent so had more money in them then I could have bought a new one. Call them they said take pic and we will refund u the parts and labor and put the engine together cuz I couldn't hold my bay up and the customer was not happy how long it was taking. Then now it's been about a year I have been fighting with them to get my money and now they r saying that none of that is under warranty and that the timing chain and the valves being bent is just an Accessory and not a main part... they wont refund me anything. This company sucks and I hope nobody buys from them if they had a 0 rating i would give it to them...

This company makes me very angry. We ordered an engine after business hours on the Friday before Thanksgiving. Less than 24 hrs later I called to cancel the order but even tho the voicemail said their business hours included Saturday, they were closed (I assumed due to holiday). First thing Monday morning I called and waited on hold over an hour to get a cancellation form email to me. They still charged me $443 restocking fee! There's NO WAY there was a restocking fee. They are nothing but rip offs. AVOID THIS BUSINESS!

I purchase a 2013 Audi A4 engine from these people. Invoice number ******* on Feb 2023.
They sold me an engine they never had at all and agent told me they will credit back to me the CORE amount when they get the CORE back. She also said the company will pick it up at their cost when we finish installing. ALL LIES, LIES, and LIES. They did not send the engine until May 2023 and they did not pay back my CORE credit. I am filing the law suit against them. If you need to sue them, lets do it together by filing the same file you can call me at *******893

Everything seemed fine

Caveat emptor. Maybe this is a good place to buy an engine, maybe not. I don't know because i never received mine. Lots of high and low reviews on line - here's mine: ordering was easy, definitely five stars. Saw a lot of those reviews. The same reviews also typically said "haven't received my engine yet". That's because swengines asks for a review as soon as the order is completed. Wait a couple of weeks. You won't get a response from an online "contact us" inquiry. So you finally make a phone call. Again, very friendly but not too helpful. In my case i found out that my order had been "deleted" four days after it was confirmed. After talking to three different very friendly people over four separate phone calls the best i got was my order was deleted. No money due, no refund pending. Done deal. Maybe in a way i got lucky and i'm not one of those who say they got a pallet full of junk. The credit card company will get to figure out where my payment went and get it back. Good luck.

SW Engines

I went with these guys because the website promised a steam cleaned, shrink wrapped and crated, tested engine. What I got was an engine unsecured on a broken freight pallet, lying on it's side, no wrapping, intake and exhaust ports left open to the elements, dirty engine oil left in the crankcase, hole in the cast aluminum valve cover, cut hoses and harnesses, rust and grime etc. Look at the pictures.

Purchased a motor for 1999 jeep wrangler sport standard.i received a 1998 xj automatic.it arrived sideways on a pallet with a seat belt tied to the pallet. After the mechanic cleaned it up saw that whoever pulled it out of the wrong car had took out 1 of the timing cover bolts and put in a longer one "most likely to hold the strap" and punched a hole through the other side and put a hole in the blocked.now my mechanic is pissed his bay is tied up and sw engines says we will get back to you in 2 or 3 days. Please do not buy an engine from them see pics

There is little good to share about this company. This company appears to be a high volume middleman for selling used engines "as us" despite advertising about clean and tested engines. #1 engine was filthy and two of the six cylinders were bad. One had zero compression. #2 engine had 5 good cylinders but the 6th had deposits on the top of the cylinder. #3 appears to be a good engine but the company refused to share any information including mileage on the engine. Plan on spending your money to test these engines. Plan on a marathon for getting a working engine. You will spend hours on the phone waiting and talking to people that care less about the customer. It took nine months to get my car back in service. This company is an embarrassment to American business.

I was offered an engine that was suppose to be completely checked out low mileage and steam cleaned. What I got was a dirty, mistreated, weathered, engine. On the scale of one to ten I would give it a two. Worst customer service ever. BEWARE!

Paid $2995 for a "quality " engine. Took 7 weeks to get it, once unloaded realized I had gotten a junkyard motor. Both valve covers broken and duct tape over. All lines and hoses cut through. Demanded a return and refund. They picked it up and won't refund me the s&h charges. Do not deal with these crooks!

Do not waste your time!

Wish I had seen these reviews sooner! I ordered an engine for a customer. Getting the engine was another story, I waited over two months! Then when the engine failed a couple of months later, they shipped a new one but did not honor their guarantee of paying for labor. After reading the other reviews, I'm lucky that they even sent a replacement engine! Customer service gives you the run around, disconnects you when they say they are transferring your call, or won't even answer your calls! Trying to get and file the correct warranty papers is a no win, red tape process. They offer a 5 year warranty but do not honor it. You need a full time person just to call, email, and process the warranty paperwork with this company! Buyer beware!

Scam artist with zero customer service
December 16, 2021

My mechanic said they sent me a broken engine as soon as he received it.

Called them repeatidly, and they refused to help us, or even return any of our calls.

After several weeks of no response from them, my mechanic had no choice but to put in the engine anyways to get the car out of his shop.

6 months and less then 24,000 miles later and the engine completely died.

It took two weeks of constant calling before the company said since you didn't file the warranty in 10 days it's not out problem.

These yahoos cost me over $5,000 in lost money.
