I've had nothing but good experiences with SwipeBids. I'd tried BidCactus before but it was getting to be too complicated. SwipeBids is much easier to use. It's true you have to pay $150 up front which seems like a lot, but for the experience it was worth it for me. Once I had won a bunch of bid packs I was able to deal with the bigger auctions fairly well. Obviously you have to pay attention to the bidding process but once you get the hang of it, it's a lot of fun. I know I've saved more money overall then I've paid for my bids, so I'm happy.
I lost my money also went on the site. Did not know that I would get swindled out of $150 back on 8/01/2010. I did not win no bids and of course they would not refund my money, because according to them I did not qualify for it. I would give them no stars but it would not let me.

This site is a total scam. Before you realized what has happened they have charged your credit card $159.00. I have done everything they told me to do to get my money back to no avail. Please don't get suckered into loosing your money. They have given me nothing but a headache! Big looser in North Carolina
I also was taken for $159.00 because I never noticed anything about a registration fee and when I hit submit no prompt was given for me to verify the amount that would be taken. I thought the information was only for purchasing purposes should I bid on something. I was looking at a camera for my daughter. I cannot afford the amount taken and all that was offered to me was a refund form to MAIL back in. After they receive it, they review it and make a decision as to whether or not I should get my money back. I am sick over this.
Complete Scam. Anyone seeing a positive News report on their TV should now contact that same news organization and report the big scam that is going on to encourage them to rebroadcast what is really happening to unsuspecting people. Maybe enough people doing this will make it public faster that these people are complete crooks. And, hopefully some Federal organization will throw their asses in jail and ban the site immediately.
As many of you I signed up in the idea that my credit card would be used in case I won a bid. Oh no, my card got charged with $150.00 immediately and I was not aware of this. The only way you can get your money back is to bid and not win and than you still have to wait 2weeks. After the 2 weeks you get nothing back. This is the biggest scam ever. They claim that the $150.00 charge is on the website (that is after you gave them your credit card info and the money has been taken out already).
Take a look at their site and keep an eye on the timer it goes to 2 seconds and than back up to whatever they seem good for them. This goes on for hours!
This website is very misleading and is totally designed to to just suck money out of bidders and to deliver nothing., by the time you figure out what they are up to you have lost many, many, many dollars and when you complain about it to them they refund your sign up charge and refuse to refund any other charges. This site should be stopped immediately. If you have been ripped off by this company please report it and lets stop this!
I basically concur with everything that's been said. I registered only to find that I was charged $150.00. Then I try some bidding and sink a little deeper. Then I try the AutoBidder which really did number on my number of bids I had saved up. Between me not knowing what I was doing and the fact that you can not change any of your credit card info on file prompted me to cancel the card and take my lumps ($). Not recommended.
This is a 100% rip off, they say that if you don't win something on your initial buy in of 250.00 dollars you get more bids. But... be careful because if you buy a bid package of let's say 40 bids they consider that winning. ALSO, by error another 250 dollar bid package was purchased (clicked too many times) when I called them they wouldn't even consider giving it back. Now out 450.00 and no products! STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY! RIPE OFF FOR SURE
SwipeBids did the same to me. I registered and then saw they took $150.00 from my PayPal account. I went back and saw the charge of $150.00 off to the left of the form I was filling out. It was not on the form at all. I went through there "Grantee" procedure to get my money back and at first they said I won something so I can't get my money back. I did not win anything. Then they said that was their mistake and I should expect my money in about 4 weeks. Well I did not see my money and contacted them again. Now they say I have to get my money from my credit card company. On and on this went, finally PayPal being the best to me investigated this situation and refunded me my money, but they never did get their money from SwipeBids. SwipeBids will NOT refund your money no matter what! So consider whatever you give them it is theirs now and you will not get it back no matter what guarantee they have and how precisely you follow the instructions. Mark
The swipebids website is now defunk. I tried to get my $150 dollars back and never got anything. When it was actually put on Channel 2 news in Orlando I thought it would be a good website... but Channel 2 news has caused a lot of people to loose a lot of money. Shame on you Channel 2 for this.
I lost my money also went on the site. Did not know that I would get swindled out of $150 back on 8/01/2010. I did not win no bids and of course they would not refund my money, because according to them I did not qualify for it. I would give them no stars but it would not let me.
I joined this site with the expectation that I was going to pay $1 for the sample bids to try it out. By the time I got done entering my credit card information I realized they took me for $150! It is impossible to change the package to the $1 package. And they won't give me a refund. They keep giving me the run around. I believe this is also a scam in the fact that you can bid and bid but never really win. There are bidders that are on every single auction. Why is that fair? They should limit people to a few auctions at a time. They apparantly have a way that the site will just bid for you every so often. This site needs to be closed down! Don't fall for it! They are ripping people off!
This is a scam. I, too, joined only to find out I was charged $150.00. I was smart enough to stop there in hopes to get my credit card refunded. Will try, but not hopeful, even though I have done everything possible. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS ONE!
It proves that cheaters are found all around the world. I wonder they are busy looting people at their will and u can't do anything about it. Please do not fill out their membership form that is a big fraud. You will be ripped of by $150/- for nothing and will not be able to do anything about it. Their name should be (swipemoney.com)
They send you an email promising you can join for $1 instead of the usual $150. But when you join, they still charge you $150. I see that numerous other people got scammed. When I tried to get my money back, they refused and claims that they sent me the email by accident. Then there's the fact that you will probably waste alot of money trying to win things that you can't really win. Don't waste your time or money on this scam.
This is not an online auction but more like gambling with the odds heavily in favor of the house. The participants have no more chance of obtaining value for their money than a person betting in a crooked casino. Avoid this site and its dececeptive registration page which almost always ends with a quick fleecing of $150 US for the priviledge to start bidding
Okay, I was just a click away from signing up for this website and on second thought I did some search and came across this blog... Seriously I was about to fall for this scam. Thanks to you all I backed out. Sorry you all have to go thru this type of scam, and my concern is why not file a complain about this site to FBI. Also News9 is equally responsible if that little news headline they are playing on swipebids.com is true. They shud be sued for every penny... lets all join to file a lawsuit against this website and also news9..
I was upset when I saw my bank statement with a $150 charge from swipebids. I contacted them and said that it was for the 300 bids for the first sign up. I told them I was not aware of that and if I can refund it. Of course they said they can't refund it. IT WAS A BIG SCAM! I tried it so I can save a little but instead I got robbed for $150 and its not a small amount of money for a student like me. I just wish that people will read the fine prints before they sign up for anything. Im so sad for all of us who got scammed by this. And i believe in karma and someone above all of us. They will be punished for this.
This site dose NOT make it clear that you will be charged $159 when you sign up. Thay make it seem like you credit card info will be used to pay for winning bids. It's not until after signup is complete that you realize you've been charged. You cannot call them. No one on the "Chat Help" will help you get you money back. You will only get prepaired Cut-And-Paste disclaimers. I am disputing this though my bank.
An unauthorized debit was made from my bank account. Someone used my name and debit card info to set up an account. I noticed a $150 debit from my account. I called the customer service number on the website and was told that per their policy they do not refund anyone's money, when the account is created you agree to the &150 charge. I told them that I did not create the account - someone stold my information. They still refused to refund the money. Stay far far away from this site.
I agree w/ all of the other comments... SCAM. I thought I was putting in a credit card number so that when and if I bid I would be charged the bid price. Then my card was IMMEDIATELY charged $159.00. I contacted their customer service on line to request refund and was told it was no possible since I had entered a credit card #. They stated that there were 4 places on the initial screen where I could opt out of it and I didn't so I bought it. Then I called my bank where I have the credit card and they also said SORRY you agreed to it... so you bought it. I then went on the SWIPEBIDS website thinking that I can at least get my $159.00 back by winning something. WRONG... the bidding never stops. It is obviously done autobid style. Shut the site down... SCAM... SCAM... SCAM.
I saw the ad for this site and went to it. 90% off eh? The old saying as stated before "If it seems to good to be true, it must be". Before going to any site such as this, I always check it out. This should go for anyone! Anyone who gets scammed shouldve known in the first place. Always do you "homework" before getting into a dangerous situation. Ive learned my mistakes by going to sites like these and other sites too. I could lecture all day, but those of you who learned the hard way, I hope youve gain some experience out of it.
I got suckered in after seeing the site on a reputable morning television show and then an email offering 1000 free bids and a $25 walmart gift card... After I signed up with the code they required... the 1000 bids were not credited and neither was the gift card. I contacted online customer service and they told me that i must not have filled out the registration right. I told them I used their code and that they did manage to take $150 from my bank account... Needless to say, they credited the bids but told me i would have to win the gift card...
So, i tried for a $10 gift card that i won for about $1.50... The actual cost to me for the $10 gift card would have been $6.50 ($4.95 shipping) Again i contacted them and told them the cost for shipping was crazy... DON'T DO IT... It can be addicting and I really would like to get something for my money but don't think its possible... I should have used my better judgement that "if its too good to be true, it must be a scam"
