“I've had nothing but good experiences with SwipeBids”

Sandy C.
7/1/10

I've had nothing but good experiences with SwipeBids. I'd tried BidCactus before but it was getting to be too complicated. SwipeBids is much easier to use. It's true you have to pay $150 up front which seems like a lot, but for the experience it was worth it for me. Once I had won a bunch of bid packs I was able to deal with the bigger auctions fairly well. Obviously you have to pay attention to the bidding process but once you get the hang of it, it's a lot of fun. I know I've saved more money overall then I've paid for my bids, so I'm happy.

I lost my money also went on the site. Did not know that I would get swindled out of $150 back on 8/01/2010. I did not win no bids and of course they would not refund my money, because according to them I did not qualify for it. I would give them no stars but it would not let me.

I am disgusted. I almost entered my credit card number and then decided to google it first and came across this site. I could not believe the stories I read on here and am thankful I did not enter my credit card number. However, for all the people that were not as lucky as I was to not get scammed, I filed an online complaint with the Better Business Bureau on all of your behalfs. If you happen to read this and you got scammed by swipebids, I encourage you to file with the better business bureau, just as I did, and maybe we can stop these low lifes from scamming anyone else and I enough people file, maybe they can caught and have to pay for what they have done by having to refund money and some jail time.

I too was scammed for $150. By the time I was through registering, they had already billed my credit card. When I called, they refused to refund the money,
I have not seen any positive reviews on this site anywhere. Go to Scamraiders.com and pennyauctionwatch.com and you will find the same. I filed a complaint with the FCC, FTC, Ic3, FBI and the Utah BBB.
They have changed their web site several times since they started. THey have bots who bid on the items each time the clock runs out, until they have the money they want, Then, sometimes they will let someone win. Probably one of their employees. Please file complaints with all the agency's you can. They all have complaint forms you can fill out on line. It costs you nothing and just maybe someone will get tired of reading all the complaints and do something about these crooks. James

This site is a site of criminals. Before I understand what has happened they have charged my credit card $150.00. I called my credit card company immediatly, not to transfer any money to them. Swipebids listen to my conversation and tried to interupt the conversation. I have Comcast and Swipebids were able to overhear and spy my conversation. Please don't get into the trap of loosing your money. Can you imagine how much money they make on the peoples sufferings? The prison is eager to have these thiefs locked up.We all need to report to the police as soon as possible!

For anyone taken by Swipebids, there is a 1976 law - Fair Credit Billing Act. If the initial purchase is not what was agreed upon, and you try to resolve with the retailer, then you can take your arguement to your credit card company, they will refund and take up your arguement with the retailer. How many arguements do you thing Visa and Mastercharge will take up before they just ban the site outright and save everyone the hassle. Good luck to those who were scammed.

I havent read anything thats been posted baout anyone actually getting a refund but on day ten I will call back my bank and dispute the charges and if need be I hate to say it but Lie and say my CC was stollen adn used to make this purchase. Otherwise Im out $150 and thats njust not going to happen.

I like the post that puts a name to this low life scam artist. Jesse Willms. P. O. S. I hope you scam a real prick and they come for you Jesse. You deserve to have both knee caps broken to crawl the earth on your belly like the worm you are. God help you if we ever should cross paths. On behalf of all who have been scammed... Lesson learned.

A total scam. The "membership" fee is not clearly stated and they charge your account without authorization saying that is stated in the application. I tried to deny the charge on my debit card and was told that I had to take it up with the credit card company. They indicated that I had to file a complaint, which I did. They advised me that it was stated in the application and there was nothing they could do! I am reporting them to the BBB and consumer affairs, but doubt that anything will come of it. DO NOT GO ON THIS WEBSITE!

TOTAL SCAM! They don't tell you your card is being charged $150 "membership fee" when you enter you cc#. Then you can't cancel the transaction. They tell you to fill out a 4 page form (don't make a single mistake on it or they will not accept it) and then you have to use all of your bids up ( but they give you more every day) and after 30 days, you have to send in the form AND contact them via chat and ONLY IF YOU HAVE NOT WON anything ( which they can easily control) will they consider giving you a refund.

I can't believe that the major news channels are touting this rip-off as a great deal! I would never have signed up had I not seen the video of CNN doing a story about swipebids saying how great it was.

After registreting, I quickly learned the site was both a fraud and bait and switch. No matter how close and how quick you are, a ringer always wiins the big items. The ringer keeps bidding to up the price of the item and makes you spend all the bids you have purchased from them. If you get to close to winning, they fix it so the site has a "glich" and you can't bid or win. When you complain, you never hear back from them and you have lost all the bids you spent. Since this is a nation wide fraud, the U.S. Justice Department should investigate the owners and operators of this corrupt site known as swipebid.com

Very clever scam. If that creativity was put to honest uses, just imagine. What do I think of swipe bids? Everyone making money from the site should be in jail, real jail where 'bubba' lives.

I am very frustrated and upset with the way this website does business. I got the total run around from their customer service representatives on the phone and also the Live Chat customer service representative. I asked nicely for my refund of $150 dollars but was told there is no refund for signing up even though they have a money back guarantee that is impossible to complete. They are truly scamming every single person that signs up for membership. It is a well thought out plan and the crook that started this website needs to be sued and put in jail for taking advantage of so many consumers. I am a bid fan of eBay and use it often. But this website makes me furious. I have written to the Attorney General in Utah, the Better Business Bureau in Alberta, Canada, the IC3.com internet crime complain center, consumer affairs, and now I am posting on this website. I agree that a class action law suit is needed to help bring the owner of swipebids.com Jesse Willms to justice. He is getting rich while he steals from all of us tricked consumers. Good luck to everybody who tries to get their money back from their credit card company. Don't give up and let this company get away with this. There are too many fraudulent scammers on the website that just hope you won't take it any further than just posting on this website.

Never saw such a fast scam and it works so well. BEWARE all user! This is NOT a fill out the form to become a member. No matter what they say. As soon as you fill out the form THEY CHARGE YOUR CARD $150.00 instantly and refuse to give you credit back.
Then, after you "CHAT" cause that is the only way to get hold of them, they send you a Refund Form that says, YOU HAVE to wait 30 days, YOU HAVE to bid on thier stuff AND YOU MUST NEVER HAVE Won a prize on their site!

DON"T DO IT!

I will agree this is a scam... and as a site note to their most recent scam they automatically sign you up for their automatic bidding which charges another 12.00 a month to your account. BEWARE... DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. THEIR MONEY BACK GUARANTEE IS A JOKE!

I got scammed for the $159 membership fee about 2 hours ago and I have already chatted with the agent who can't cancel my membership and refund my money for 5-10 business days; sent email to the company; sent email to a lawyer looking into a class action suit; callled the bank... I have $86 to my name right now. I am on a fixed income and i can''t afford to callously throw away that much money UNDISCLOSED for registration! If I could stand to visit every web site on the net to complain about this company I would but I think it is making my blood pressure go u[p. This company is a SCAM!

There is absolutely "nothing" penny about the whole process. BECAUSE IT COST YOU to just bid on the auctions. You can spend dozens of hours and hundreds of $$$ without ever winning anything!
I will list out the following facts
1) $150 minimum join in, non refundable. Comes with 300 "bids" which will last you may be 5 minutes on a popular item like the Macbook ( without winning it of course)
2) Must buy more "bids" to bid for future items. Or spend your "bids" bidding for
More bids in hope of buying them at a lower rate. Bottom line, each bid carries a cost of $0.025-$0.005
3) Each $0.01 increase in the price displayed on the item being bid on represents 1-50 "bids" spent by some bidder.
4) Example, the Macbook might display a winning bid price of $350. BUT, that is the equivalent of approx. 300,000 individual "bids" all the bidders spend collectively.
5) Assume the winner spent just 20% of that by coming in late and monitoring the auction carefully and diligently without using the automatic bid, he/she would have to spend approx. 3-4 hours of time and anywhere between $600-1,200 (for accumulating 60,000 "bids") before forking up the $350 "winning bid" real money
6) You do the math.

Still think it is a deal?

Additional fact, the last listed top bidder spent over 30 million "bids" on various auctions to win the 2010 Honda Civic listed. Thats like somebody spending over at least $30,000 in buying "bids" and spending them in bidding for various items with an unknown % of successful winning bids plus the price of the winning bids spent for the winning items.
The MSRP for the same car is approx. $16,000

Do not get sucked in. Do the words fraud, deceit, dishonest, and ripoff mean anything to you? Then stay away from this site and DO NOT ENTER YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO! You will be charge immediately for $159.00 even if you decline to buy any bids! Your Mom was right, if it sounds to good to be true, your being scamed.

IMPORTANT: If you are scammed by SwipeBids, do not take the time to fill out their Money-Back Guarantee form. This is a ploy to prove to the bank that you understood what you were engaging in. Simply, call up your bank, state your credit card was stolen, and that you noticed it with the SwipeBids charge. Your bank will remove this charge, you will get your money back, and it will help shut down sites like SwipeBids due to high chargeback ratios.

GOT MY MONEY BACK FROM SWIPEBIES so far. Back in June, I contacted my credit card company. I told them that I was dissatisfied with the service that Swipe Bids gave me. The bank charged all my charges back to Swipebids and so far they have has not tried to defend themselves. All you would have to do is show the bank the BBB rating and print out this blog and they would look pretty bad. Just be sure you are not charging them with fraudulent activity, I thing you could have success. Try it anyway.

I too was ripped off by Swipebids.com in the amount of $150. My bf and I tried our damnest to talk to "swipebid representatives" online and actually on the phone. Every single person said the same thing " NO, this is not a scam blablablabla... We have a 30 day money back guarantee as long as you lose all of your bids in 30 days we will refund your money." **FYI** They give you 30 bid points per day even if you do not log in, so it is IMPOSSIBLE to get your refund.

****FYI**** Report it to your bank or credit card company IMMEDIATELY even if it includes you reporting your card stolen or lost.
I reported my credit card stolen and my company "investigated the charge" and gave me my money back easy as that.
