I work for the financing group for the talbots CC and geez a lot of you are horrid individuals to service workers. Reality check! Your stupidity does not equate to others having to deal with your nonsense. Call the right numbers and realize you aren't the center of the $#*!ing universe!
Went to a Toronto Talbot store. Bought 7 tops, good quality and fit. The store manager started to verbally bully me several times and followed me to the register while I was paying and kept on haranging me.
I have shared this story with friends and family who say I should report this. I don't want to be responsible for the manager losing their job. A different salesperson came over to me and said that I should let it go because it's Christmas. I don't celebrate Christmas and I don't go to a store to be told how to behave and what I should accept in how I am treated. I wonder how head office allows this. I won't shop there in the future. I do not believe for one second that I am the only shopper who was subject to harrassment. Talbot need to train their emplyees better.
Have shopped there for 45 years and am now stopping having become more environnentaly responsible.
Single items of clothing are shipped and arrive in store in individually wrapped plastic bags. When the garments are unpacked the plastic is discarded as regular trash. Jewelry packing is even more earth un friendly. For example a pair of earrings are in a small plastic bag, then two pair are placed in a larger plastic bag. So 3 plastic bags for 2 pair. All that is thrown out when unpackaged. Then when you purchase something at the store, they want to wrap is in tissue paper, use a sticker to hold the tissue in place, then place it all in a plastic bag. Why don't they use paper and eliminate the tissue? What a misuse of plastic, waste of time and money. No wonder the prices are so high. If you care about the earth...
Waited forever to get credit. They sent me a pre printed shipping label. I had no idea I'd be paying 8.95 to ship that small item. ( they take that shipping cost out of the refund) refund has taken 20 days. When I inquire all I get are automated, " We are experiencing shipping delays." I paid to ship and return what was deceptively photographed in the online catalog. It looked like it was two pieces but it was only one piece. Then when I emailed corporate as I thought it was an error $ 17.90 in shipping for a $62.00 item I get an email ( after two more automated emails saying they are experiencing delays…) in which the corporate support tells me they will refund me the return shipping in 5-7 business days. This puts my refund close to one month from the time I returned it! I've wasted lots of time dealing with them and trying to get answers. I only got a reply after emailing corporate directly ( reply came within two hours after waiting almost three weeks, amazing!) I only both with this review for one reason…. Let others know customer service is not at the forefront. Buyer beware.
I just want to say that I shop at Talbot's Outlet about twice a month but recently I have been very disappointed after receiving an email of a sale and when I get to the store they have the same old winter leftovers on sale when they advertise new Spring arrivals on sale. I wish there was a website for Talbots Outlet with the prices listed so I could avoid a long trip to the Outlet. Otherwise, I like the clothing but I feel the prices are very high and there are not enough coordinating fashions.
I shopped at Talbots outlet in Bluffton on Thursday. I hope I am writing to the correct place but I had to tell you how GREAT Judy and Shirley were. I did not know how else to do it but they went above and beyond. Please let them know that I appreciate them very, very much.
Thank you
Carole Dempsey
I purchased a cashmere sweater with gift card returned it, but I was told it went to my account as-digital merchandise credit, don't trust this, they steal the customer money.
Have you noticed / are you aware -- that the female population is changing.? There are growing numbers of elderly women who search fruitlessly for clothing that fits their shorter, wider bodies. Your new magazine that just arrived shows, cover-to-cover, tall, very slim, young ladies who, of course, look perfect in your beautiful garments... but isn't that an age-group that is diminishing? If you'd visit one of the hundreds of assisted living/senior residences and observe the women there, you'd realize how unlikely any woman in this category is likely to wear your garments. THEY DON'T FIT! Loving family members bring some of your lovely clothes to these women, only to return them later, when they find that they don't fit (up, down, or around). Well, I think you get the point. I hope you'll add a new "section" to your apparel inventory to include items for those of us who have to keep wearing the same "old" now shrunken and shabby things over and over because we can't find anything new that fits.
I have always liked Talbots but have changed my opinion recently. I can order from Nordstroms and have free shipping and returns and have a larger selection of items.
I rencently ordered pair of pants from Talbots the shippping was $8.00 now they are charging me tax on the shipping! I am done with Talbots.
Answer: China, where everything else is made these days. I don't think many, if any, of their products are made in the USA.
Answer: They are sneaky. Waited over a month for a jacket, returned it and a month later I asked where is my credit. They said they received and put a credit in my account (not what I wanted as I purchased jacket elsewhere) but never notified me they received and I have a credit. In other words, they just keep unsuspecting customers' money and never tell you. I will never shop there again (except to use my credit if I can't get them to credit my card hahaha)
Answer: I have never had an issue with exchanges. I have never requested a refund.
Answer: The quality of the clothes going back about 10-15 years ago was EXCELLENT. I still have shorts purchased then but they are now showing their age. Purchased similar over the last get years and while they are still $60 the quality is on par with perhaps Walmart
Answer: They are easy to reach and cooperative. They are responsive to customer's needs
Answer: They are a legitimate company and have been in business for many years
