It has been easy to contact Telecan whenever, I am faced with any issue. The customer care representative listen and have given me solutions that best fits my needs plus the customer care are pleasant and will allow me express my requirements. The customer care representatives are knowledgeable about support in the network. Call wait time is realistic and there is no waitlist, so I don't have to worry about holding on phone or waiting to be transferred!

Always takes too long to get a connection. Sometimes more than 10 minutes. Not easy to refresh your ip-address. Occasional random service dropouts when connecting to overseas servers (that problem did not occur with previous isp.) On the plus side, no contracts, no fee increases. So I stay hooked up.

I have been with Telcan for some time now and as of recent have been in search of plans that better suit my budget given the stress higher food and energy costs. To be fair, I did reach out to Telcan and asked if they offered loyalty plans for long term customer? My answer was a flat out "No"!. I would have given them a 5 star but feel that customer loyalty is important to my as I am loyal to a fault when I find a company with few faults. Sure they could do better with more updated equipment offerings and their customer service has its issues but overall deserve 4 stars.

Bad customer service they came to my place November 22,22 install but still can't watch TV modem don't work and now I need to wait again for technical support who's English is bad and speak very low. Asking for refund 0 ratings.

Old outages Rogers modems are junk. Customer service is horrible. Tech service is even worse. They will also make mistakes on your billing trying to get every cent out of you. Definitely not recommended

So far my Telcan internet and home phone are working fine except for the occasional glitz of the modem, when this happens The home phone incoming calls goes directly to the voice mail without getting a ringing sound! I always have to re-boot the system to get it working again.

Don't use this company for the internet.
If you are lucky you will get 48 mbps
Most days I am getting 8 mbps, that correct pretty much useless.
Stay away, their prices are great but the service is awful!

Can,t seem to talk to some one from Canada every thing is done on line from India with people that speak very poor English. Sad way to run a Canadian Company. I would be afraid to go with them.

At least one outage per month, you try to call customer service and they hang up in your face. Steer clear, even the price doesn't justify the terrible service.

When I acquired Telcan internet for my home I was concerned the service wouldn't be good enough for a rural location. I was and am glad I made that choice. FIRST, the internet service is excellent. Multiple devices all running without loading any problems, even at peek usage times. There was only ONE time their was a service interruption since my service was installed over 4 months ago and that was because of a ROGERS nationwide outage. SECOND, the price is below other providers for 500mbps, so for my family, Telcan provides excellent internet service.

Tip for consumers:
I placed the modem above the floor and not behind objects that interfere with the signal such as behind a television or glass.

I work remotely from home, so I am demanding to disconnects. For 3 month disconnects happens may be 2 or 3 times for a short period. It`s acceptable. Internet speed is excellent. The price also.

Was assured minimal downtime on sign up. This is important as both the wife and I telework and it was made clear on signup.
Initially sent a defective modem, billed me shipping for the replacement modem, took almost a week to finally get internet and VOIP meaning the wife and I couldn't work and had to use our limited personal time off days. No web interface for VOIP like Teksavvy so every day you have to do *98 to check messages. Teksavvy VOIP sent an email with attached voice message. No support area and no personal Telcan email address provided.
NOT WORTH THE MONEY I AM SAVING BY SWITCHING

The details! They are very much lacking in any details on exactly services provided and support wether it is online or upon activation. If I had known these details, I never would have signed up

Telcan is an Ontario telecommunications company founded in 1998. We started as a platform provider of prepaid telecom services to service providers in North America. Companies currently use our infrastructure to provision prepaid long-distance, international mobile phone recharge, as well as home and business Voice-Over-IP (VOIP) services.

As a result of internal restructuring, and to take advantage of recent CRTC mandates, we acquired our ISP license and launched our very own Internet and home phone service to the markets of Ontario and Quebec. We combine our experience in the telecom business with a robust and proven infrastructure, to provide high-quality internet services.

OUR HISTORY
Telcan began as a long-distance phone service provider founded in 1998 by 3 University of Waterloo students who did what engineers do best - find technical solutions to everyday problems.

The first problem we solved was how to provide businesses with dependable, affordable phone services. In 2004 we launched Callture.com, a provider of cloud business phone systems. In 2015 we launched oyemobile.com, a provider of prepaid international phone calls and international mobile top-up services.

Today, established telecommunications providers see a change in the Internet industry as a problem to overcome, but we see an opportunity to improve Internet services for Canadians.
