I've placed several orders through this platform and every time the quality is simply so low. Grammar mistakes, wrong vocabulary, wrong and inaccurate information. Zero research. Writers are lazy, provide completely inaccurate information and clearly English is not their native language. Wasted money. Awful experience. Don't waste your money on this platform.
Textbroker is a legitimate way to make income. It is not suitable for professional writers though. It is ideal for individuals seeking a way to work from home who aren't experienced writers. I gave it a three star rating because the pay rate is to low for quality work. For a more in depth review check out my full review at http://writeoutblog.blogspot.com/
Low price-per-word rates and nearly impossible to get a 5-star author account so you get stuck doing 2 cents per word orders with very demanding and specific formatting and style requirements.
The writer I work with is on point, gets what I'm asking for and the tone requested, and fully understands SEO. Feeling blessed to have found this service! Makes my life much easier!
Loved dealing with textbroker. Great service and fast writers willing to accommodate my needs. I can't think of another service that does what they do in the same manner
Hi Ryan! Thanks so much for sharing your feedback with others! We're glad we've been able to help meet your content needs!
I use text broker to quickly get content for our website and in less than a few hours, we typically have the article being worked on. Then a day or less later, it's done. Love it!
Hi Chris! Thanks so much for sharing your experience! We hope to continue providing you with top-notch services for many years to come!
This site violates the laws regarding theft of wages. They come up with bogus rules that make contractors employees. Like what happened with Uber, someone needs to sue them.
I've used this service before at my job and now set up my own account to use for my clients. The payment system was frustrating to begin with. Once I got all that sorted out I started putting in orders. Several of the authors did not follow instructions and refused to do a revision, at which point the content was due to my client so I wrote it myself. Apparently, when the authors kicked back the articles into the pool it removed the due date and I was charged for three pieces of content even though they were past due.
This and several other issues (including setting up my own author pool, tracking changes, customer service, etc.) have led me to be hesitant when using TextBroker. I can't write everything myself so I have my own writers I use and will still use TextBroker but only in case of emergency. Its also not the highest quality content but its worth what you pay so if you pay the premium it might be better, I just haven't had an experience that warrants spending more money than I have to.
Hi ME, I'm sorry to hear that your experience didn't go smoothly! The best way to ensure that your orders are completed in a timely manner is to use the Author Search feature to locate a suitable author and work with them on an ongoing basis. The next time you're thinking about placing an order with us, feel free to get in touch and we'll walk you through it:)
Also, please remember to delete orders you no longer need so that you aren't charged for them!
I have been a writer on Textbroker for nearly a year. I started out as a four-star writer and was recently promoted to the five-star level. Textbroker has been a safe, reliable and user-friendly way to earn extra income online with my writing skills. With one minor exception, I have had great experiences with Textbroker's clients. I have written content at Textbroker for various projects ranging from small websites to larger corporate clients. The editors have always been helpful and professional, and all my questions have been answered in a timely manner. I can safely say that writing for Textbroker has developed my writing skills more than several college-level English courses. Even though Textbroker's quality standards are very high, success is within reach as long as one takes the time to fully understand their requirements and apply their guidelines carefully. Their high standards ensure that clients know what quality to expect from Textbroker authors at each level of service. Textbroker has built and maintained a strong reputation in the area of online content for a reason. I'd recommend it as a great option both for writers looking for a place to use their skills and for those looking for good writing services.
I have used TB since 2016. They started off great. I've used them for many articles. Throughout the years I have noticed the quality being no better than the freelance services online. Granted I didn't have 5 star articles written but most of the time the author didn't follow the direction even after a revision request. I find that after rejecting the article Text Broker is quick to refuse your rejection without paying attention to your side of the story. After years of using them and paying for a service that didn't meet my expectations I have no choice but to use other providers. Save yourself the BS of contacting customer service after they wrongfully reject your rejection. The quality assurance team isn't thorough. They are quick to refuse you and make you pay for something you didn't want.
Anyway they did refund my money but it wasn't until I disputed it via email and through a customer service rep. They had to look into my side. Whoever declined it originally copy and pasted the crap in the email.
I have worked with Textbroker for years on both sides of the spectrum: as a content manager needing content for my certain projects on the job and as a freelance writer looking for work. No matter what position I'm in, I know I can always count on Textbroker to deliver an assortment of highly-qualified writers for my project's specific needs. Their writers are skilled in a variety of different subject areas and also do additional research when needed. I have always gotten my articles on time, and in many cases, early. Plus, the price for content is fair based on the quality and length of the article. And if you do run into an issue, their content managers are there with you every step of the way to resolve any problems. They can help you set up a content project, find the right writers, and even assist in managing the project to ensure you stay on track and meet your content goals. Textbroker is definitely a resource any content company and/or professional should have in their arsenal.
Tip for consumers:
Use the author search feature to narrow down writers by star-quality level.
Hi Brittany! Thanks so much for your detailed review! We're happy to hear that our Managed Services have been so helpful in meeting your content goals. We hope to continue providing your company with exceptional service for years to come!
Having used them for 5 articles, I can say with certainty that the work their supposed "5 star" writers suck. What's worse, if you tell them you're unhappy with the quality of the work, they don't care. They still keep the crap writers at 5 star even with poor customer feedback. Bad customer service, crappy writers, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
I took two writing jobs that paid a tiny bit of money for 500 words, same client, approximately. Client wanted a rewrite 4 times on one of the articles. He was only paying 1.80 and I am worth way more than 1.80 an hour.
He was unwilling to pay for more than 2 stars and I told him that 1.80 was not going to pay my bills. I advised privately that more stars would get him more rewrites. I saw at the end of the week that he had eventually asked for 5 star writers but they too put his job request back into the queue, as he was asking for too many rewrites.
The only problem I have with this site, is that the client can ask for 2 star writers and then demand that they write, re-write and re-write again if the client wants something different then what they originally asked for. People are cheap at heart and want as much as they can get for as little as possible. I wish there was a place on the website and under the jobs available where we as writers can put comments about the clients, so that everyone doesn't waste their time.
That way clients that are especially difficult, the potential writer knows what they are walking or accepting into.
Great overall experience, from having my initial questions answered by the customer service team to final dleivery of my well written quality content. I will be back for more!
Hi Daniel! We're so glad to hear that your first experience has gone so well! Please feel free to reach out to us again if you have any additional questions or concerns.
I have to laugh at the guy who said $15 for 500 words is "insanely expensive". If you're expecting professional work, you'll have to pay someone a liveable wage in order to get it. You should expect at least a couple of hours to be spent on a high-quality, SEO optimized piece of 500 words and $15 isn't going to cut it. If you want keyword-stuffed ESL-garbled webclutter, you can probably get that for your price range.
My experience with Textbroker is pretty lousy considering the success I've had working for other content brokers and private clients. I like the business model of broker sites, but even at four stars at TB you're earning half of what other sites pay for two-star writers. It's hard for me to understand why four- and five-star rated writers would stick around and teach clients that $15 is an "insanely high" price for a quality piece when they could double or triple their earnings elsewhere.
Textbroker's editors don't like the way I write and I've only received negative reviews from them in spite of rave reviews from clients there. I have had great success at two other broker sites along with a bit of good work from private clients so clearly it is just a mismatch for me as a writer.
I surely will not be busting my butt for TB's editors only to get pennies slung at me. Writers, think better of yourself and your work and move on.
I see a lot of horror stories from writers on here, and I don't get it.
I'm currently on Textbroker and working on moving up to better clients. I've been 4 star my entire time, never had an issue with reviews. As for the complaints like, "They blocked me accepting other articles after a coupe of weeks, so I couldn't pay my rent," they mention the five article block for new writers, and you are getting paid 1.4 cents a word or less so this isn't something you should rely on for money.
Clients that complain about keyword stuffing or word count inflation, this is what you get for 1.4 cents a word. A lot of the orders on the site come from clients that don't care about writing quality, they just want their keywords in a piece of an acceptable size. This leads to writers trained to focus on those aspects and not on creating quality writing.
I'm fine with writing on Textbroker for now. It's been a source of extra cash while I build better habits in myself. This isn't a long term writing solution, but it's good enough for the first couple of months.
First, it took Textbroker at least 10 days to even look at my writing sample. When I inquired, they approved it later that day with an apology. They also accepted my article samples. But later, after giving me a 4-star rating, they took my article links down, saying my byline was against policy. I hadn't realized that, so I understood. But why accept them in the first place?
Besides this, which was a mere frustration, the rates are poor at best. I've written professionally for almost 20 years, drumming up freelance on my own, and Textbroker rates are CRIMINAL, even for beginner writers. Four-star writers receive around 6 cents per word, if that. Even the lower paying assignments I've had with various companies and websites have paid 20 cents more per word than this text mill, at the very *least*. If you want to work hard (writing can be tough) and provide valuable content that clients will profit from much more than you will, then go for it. Work for Textbroker if you need a start. Even a bleak one. But if you value yourself and your work, don't.
You're better off approaching companies, websites and organizations on your own, without this middleman to rip you off.
Very reliable high quality. Our clients have a wide range of niche industries. The amount of niche-specific research the 4-5 star authors do is wonderful. Very happy client
Hi Ed,

I have been ordering content for five months on Textbroker and I have to say that I'm happy with the quality of content I receive at the price I pay, It takes some time to find your go-to writers but when you take the time to create your own team and offer a reasonable rate, you will get several writers willing to work for you and do a good job.
Hi Cesar! Thank you for your review and the great tips for new clients on how to the most out of our services!
I just started writing for Textbroker and I've already had my first bad experience with my first article! I wrote about a 250 word description for a client and received a hyper technical critique from a proofreader. I felt like I was being graded on a college English exam! I don't mind constructive criticism, but, this was ridiculous! I don't believe for a minute that the average person landing on the website page that my article was intended for would have had any problems with it. I was rated as a four star author going in so, to someone at Textbroker, at least, I was worthy of four stars. But, this uptight proofreader felt differently and literally stated in the critique that, "This order needs to be reworked for quality. There are too many errors present in this order for a 4-star order."
First of all, there was nothing wrong with the "quality" of the article. I used the same sentence structure and grammar rules in this article that I used in my writing sample that garnered me the four star rating. The "problems" mentioned by the proofreader were technical in nature.
If I'm going to have to deal with a different temperament every time a turn in a simple article for a measly three bucks each time then they can count me out!
I have been writing for Textbroker for about 6 years. Sometimes I do well and at other times it seems that nothing I do is right. I have been mostly a level 4 writer, but lately it seems that I have been targeted to be smacked back to a level 3 for minor offenses.
My biggest complaint is how the editors nitpick. Can't an editor add a comma or make a minor change to an article? Since writers don't own the articles I don't understand why that would be a problem. Is that not what editing is --or is it to act as a teacher who grades the paper and gives it back to the student?
Many of the instructions are confusing. When I get something back because the instructions were confusing, I copy it and save it for one of my other writing sites and cancel the process on TB. What's interesting is that I write for a site that rates me higher and pays more than TB for the same types of articles, so I can almost always use what TB turns down.
Some orders have several links that one must click to read pages of instructions An article that seemingly pays well ends up paying a few cents per hour by the time one reads all of the instructions and watches the accompanying YouTube videos. I guess people who want to feel like they are real writers praise TB. However many of us who write for TB know that we are hobbyists at best. We probably would not give them a second look if we could land some really good paying freelance gigs. Unless one has nothing else to do but sit a computer all day, it is just a another content mill and o. K. for some vacation change.

Within some years I ordered 8 articles. Orders were done in time and the quality was at the higher level. I plan to use Textbroker services in the future.
HI Nikolai! We're happy to hear that you intend to continue using our services! Thanks so much for being a valued client!
I needed help in the next step of posting my article. The associate helped me through the process. When I completed it, he did a followup to confirm the article was posted.

I've been a TextBroker client for years and have always been happy with the level of service from their team, quality and quantity of writers and their easy to use user interface.
Hi James! Thanks so much for your great feedback! We've loved having you as a client!
I've worked in the content marketing world for nearly a decade. I've seen the good, the bad, and the ugly - from Blackhat SEO practices back in the day, to the repercussions of Panda- and Penguin-gate. Textbroker has been a valuable resource for me to find and vet authors, building relationships that, with some authors, have spanned 8+years. While the biz model of Textbroker is set up for turn and burn "set it and forget it" content needs, what I appreciate most about them is their ability and overall willingness to create a system that works for me. Putting out content needs to the general public makes it difficult for me to get quality work... I have too many specifications and specs on my orders, so TB has allowed me to work with authors one on one, which in turn establishes a system that works for all of us. Above all, I appreciate their prompt, IMMEDIATE, and thorough response time. I get email and chat responses in minutes and their team goes above and beyond to help me, every time.
Tip for consumers:
You get what you pay for...only wiling to pay .02/word? Expect your content to reflect that. Author bonuses go a long way :)
Hi Jo! Thanks so much for your review! It's always great to hear how Textbroker has been able to make a client's work life a little easier. We're glad to have been able to work with you through the years and look forward to many more years of meeting your content and customer services needs!
Ever since I started using Textbroker for content, ALL of my sites are ranking better and the writers are amazing, especially Kathy H.
Excellent customer service too.
Textbroker is the leading digital content creation site. We bring clients and authors together to create custom content, such as blogs, product descriptions, press releases and more!
The idea behind Textbroker is to satisfy the growing demand for custom content. As an SEO provider, Textbroker founder Jan Becker-Fochler experienced first-hand the increasing importance of unique content to his clients; after all, unique content leads to a better ranking in search engines, more traffic and more revenue. Then, in 2005, Becker-Fochler came up with the idea to search for authors, motivate them to write, rate the quality of their work and compensate them for their effort. To accomplish this, he commissioned the development of a preliminary version of the Textbroker platform.
Within a short time, thousands of authors eager for the chance to earn money with their writing signed up. In 2007, Textbroker launched the Internet’s first content marketplace. Today, Textbroker authors deliver high-quality product descriptions, blog posts, press releases, social media posts, news stories, and technical articles and a wide variety of other written content to clients around the world. In essence, Textbroker is a better, faster, easier and less expensive way for companies to get freelance written content.
