Worst decision I ever made.leads are all fake and they just give false hope. You are locked in for 1 year and cannot get out. ALL FALE LEADS AND CALL CABO NUMBER IS NOT REAL….STAY AWAY
Throughout my wedding planning process, I have gone back to The Knot time and time again for help with various aspects of the ceremony, reception, transportation, and everything in between.
I have utilized the accurate, honest vendor reviews from other brides on multiple occasions on the message boards, and gotten solid advice about how to handle various situations. I can usually rely on the honest, straightforward responses of the others. Even my fiance has said "ask the girls on The Knot about {insert situation here}."
I have also utilized the customizable checklist. That has been a good reference for making my things to do list for everything wedding related. The budget tracker is also quite helpful.
My only issues with The Knot are basically that updating profiles, etc. is quite difficult. It needs to be more user friendly, because not everyone is an expert at writing internet codes, which is required. If that were made more user friendly, I think it would add a lot to the site.
I had a poor customer service experience. I booked a room through The Knot as a guest at a wedding and wanted to modify my reservation. First of all I never received a confirmation of booking or an itinerary after I originally booked the room so I had to call to even confirm I had booked successfully and to get my itinerary number. The picture attached shows how the room was marketed when I booked, clearly stating that there is FREE cancellation. However, when they finally gave me my itinerary it said non-refundable. I have not been able to contact a useful person who has any information to help me, everyone I talk to is just playing dumb. Be careful, if you finally get someone to talk to they will say they are going to forward you to the customer service line and either they just hang up or send you back to the automated voice at the beginning. Additionally they wouldn't allow me to change the type of room from a single King to 2 Queens despite the room rate being the same. The room rate is also $20/night more expensive when booking through The Knot compared to booking directly with the hotel. I thought I was getting some kind of discounted wedding party rate but clearly I should have shopped around.
UPDATE:
After I left this review I was contacted and given a refund. I am happy with the end result but I don't think I should have to leave a review to get assistance. My experience was still poor. Rating updated from 1 star to 2 stars.
I started my business many years ago, any website we are affiliated with gives the user more control over what gets posted/reviews, except for the KNOT. I hate that I wasted my money every month on a service that has so little regard for its business owners. They allowed and still remains one bad review on their site, which apparently they could "care less" about. My first email to report the abuse was never even replied to. Now, 3 years later, I am trying it again. This is the worst site to do business with, don't waste your money. My business has a perfect 5.0 star rating on 20 other sites, and if it weren't for that one Brides nonsense and non factual events. While I still maintain a 5.0 star rating from my clients on this site, its not the point of it. The point is, they allow anyone, to say anything, true or not. BE LEARY! Also, I have tried to take actions to have my business removed, all they would do is move it to a FREE listing. I do not want or care to be a part of any website such as this, who allows such nonsense, they are NON CREDIBLE and do not care about their consumers.
Ordered on 12/1. Item was guaranteed for christmas. Received an email that it won't be here for christmas. Cancelled my order. Worst customer service too. I will NEVER order from here again.
I contacted Donna a week before our event and she graciously accommodated our needs. Her attention to detail was amazing and the calligraphy came out perfect!
I would highly recommend her service!
Honestly, I am not someone to leave reviews but my experience ordering my invitations through The Knot was beyond awful. Not only did I receive the order late but it was incomplete - no actual invitations or addressed envelopes! (Only the RSVP and details cards were in the shipment). What a joke! I called and emailed multiple times before getting a reply which then they stated they would rush reprint and overnight. The following day still not update or follow up email to let me know the status of my order. I had to call 3 times before getting someone on the phone to help me. I finally got a call back that the reprint would take 2 days and that I would not get my order until the following week. My invites are now going out over 2 weeks late and my wedding is now less than 50 days away. I didn't think planning a wedding in a pandemic could get worse yet here we are. What a joke of a company that prides itself on being "the nation's leading wedding marketplace."
I honestly wish I would have just gone with Minted. We used them for our Save the Dates. The first print came out very dark so I emailed them. The following day got a response that a designer was going to personally fix them, have them reprinted and overnighted which I received 2 days later. On top of it, they offered a 25% discount on what I already paid for. Their customer service was amazing and I regret not using them for our invites.
Do yourself a favor and learn from my experience - DO NOT ORDER YOUR INVITES FROM THE KNOT!
Hi Christina,
We are so sorry to hear about your experience ordering invitations, we certainly don't want our couples to feel this way! We appreciate your feedback and would love to ensure it is shared with the correct team to help improve our process. If you are willing to share a bit more information about your feedback, please reach out to us via private message or at help@theknot.com so we can further investigate this. We look forward to hearing from you!
My husband and I had a horrific experience with Eivan's Photography and are still trying after 8 months to get our photos that we paid for. He wrote a review of their company on The Knot twice and both times the Knot REFUSED TO POST IT stating that Eivan's said it wasn't factual. Which was a complete lie on Eivan's part. We have received a non-downloadable link to our wedding trailer and video which they took down and we cannot access anymore and watermarked photos which they also removed and archived so we do not have access to them until we pay a $760 unarchiving fee. So my husband has sent documentation of our dealings with Eivan's and we are now waiting to see if The Knot will allow honest feedback on their site. Either The Knot is getting paid by Eivan's to block their bad reviews or something else shady is going on here. It makes me realize that I should not trust the other reviews on The Knot anymore. Is anything trustworthy these days?
Hi Sara,
We are so sorry to hear about your experience with this vendor! Our team would be happy to look into this for you. When you have a moment, please send us a private message with the email address you used to leave your review so we can take a look at this for you.
This is my second time reviewing them and boy does it get worse. Pay attention to all the five star ratings. If you go on glassdoor.com, a website where employees rate their place of business, employees tell of how they were forced to go all over writing positive reviews for their own company. What kind of garbage company needs to do that? I called up to advertise with them, was told I could cancel at any time, then when I called a few months later to cancel was told I had signed a year long contract. I did no such thing but they refused to cancel my account and CONTINUED to bill my credit card. What is better, they then refused to respond to email or calls for two months. Then when I finally cancelled my card they called and threatened me with collections. They continue to send me bills each month too. VENDORS: report any and all wrongdoing by wedding pages llc to the state of Nebraska, the BBB, and to the FTC. The only way they open a case is that they get enough complaints to trigger an alert on a certain business. The reason you should complain is this: if the FTC decides to sue on your behalf, you will be entitled to any money they gt back from these scammers. So everyone, go to the FTC website and file a complaint.
I advertised with The Knot and Wedding Wire (they have merged and are now one company with two sites) for 3+ years and paid them over $6,000 in ads. My contract term with the knot was for 12 months. I recently received a call stating that I was past due on payment with them. That sparked a concern for me as I had paid the full 12 months for the contract term that ended in April 2020 and it is now July 2020 when I got this call. So I pulled up my bank statement and saw that even though our contract term was over in April they had so called "auto renewed my contract" without my approval or signing of a new contract. They auto deducted money from my bank account for May and June! When I emailed and called to get a refund for the two months of overcharge they said unfortunately there is nothing we can do since you did not call us and tell us you didn't want an auto renew ad listing! That is highway robbery and extreme shady slyness. Also in the last 12 months I have only booked ONE client from their leads. The amount of the wedding I am photographing does not even cover the 12 month cost of the advertising. Honestly the whole thing is a total rip off!
Answer: My honest opinion... do not use theknot.com for your wedding. It crashes often and can be extremely frustrating. Believe me... I used it and was locked into using it because it was on all of my invitations. My best advice: use weddingwire.com. But, if you're not going to listen to my advice or are locked in and stuck as I was, go to your wedding website (not in preview mode) and click on guest list from the dashboard... well... After 9 attempts, TK will not load properly so that I can step you through it (everything else on my computer works great). Sorry, that's all I have for you. I hate theknot.com!
Answer: Tell them the same thing they say to you when you contact them for help in any way! "I don't think it is in our best interest! You are on your own... Good luck with that!"
The Knot has a rating of 1.7 stars from 375 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with The Knot most frequently mention customer service, credit card and wedding wire. The Knot ranks 79th among Wedding Planning sites.
