Horrible
December 3, 2015

I try to cancel my account because I haven had a single wedding from this site and I can't afford the price. I spoke with Jill and Brad and the only think about getting paid, they said you are in a contract for a year if you don't paid the balance we will send you to collection. Well that is I want to cancel so I does get to that point but the only think the care is getting paid. DON'T SIGN UP WITH THE KNOT YOU WONT GET CLIENTS AND STILL HAVE TO PAID FOR A HOLD YEAR THANKS FOR NOTHING THE KNOT I WILL NEVER USED YOUR SERVICE AGAIN

Having seen other friends who got married using the knot for a website, I thought that was the 'go-to' place to have a one-stop place for people to RSVP to our wedding, events, and contribute to a registry without paper. WRONG! Sure, I can put together a website, but here are the major flaws that ANY Tech person in this modern day would be flabbergasted about:
1. Your guests can RSVP for your wedding but you can't email them through the website. So you need to export the whole list and find another way to communicate them. Annoying? YES!
2. You can create 'events' like the rehearsal dinner or other fun things to do but your guests can't RSVP unless you manually invite them. And by manually invite, I mean you need to click an icon for every single person and every single event. So we have 5 smaller events, and this means I would need to spend my time clicking 500 (100 guests) icons just to INVITE them. They don't have a bulk invite list. And even with the "open RSVP" option, it still requires an individual invitation.
3. Sure you can link your registry. Sounds great right? But it doesn't connect the registry to your list of guests. So you have to again MANUALLY input each gift to each guest.

The final review: most brides and grooms who are busy planning don't have the time to mess around with these ridiculous extra details that are frankly, common sense. Use ANY other wedding website than theknot.

I love love love The Knot! Between the checklist, the wedding guestlist help, the different articles and the knottie forums... I wouldn't have been able to plan a wedding half as cool as the one I am planning! This is a MUST for anyone planning their own wedding or helping someone plan. I HIGHLY recommend it!

Dishonest!
May 30, 2023

They use clickbait button on the room booking page for the bridal party. You think that the bridal party is the one that put it there when you book the room. We called 5 minutes after booking this is for two nights 2 months in advance there's absolutely no refund. It's third party booking with never any intention to return any of your money and they'll tell you that Hilton won't give them the money back. That Hilton's declining the refund and that's why they declined the refund. No matter what you say or how many times you call they have your money. Which is the whole point and their business model. We had to call the bride and they weren't even aware that this was on the website. They didn't know that parties could be sucked into booking and not being able to get their money back as well as the rooms not going toward the bridal party block and not even discounted. And it seems that there are a lot of these complaints so I don't know how a company can continue to operate and steal from people. Do not use the this company!

Inaccurate reviews
September 10, 2015

The knot will let anyone write a review. So even though you have no idea what he client and vendor agreed to, you can still write a review, which is not a true representation.

Want to search for a venue within 50 miles? Affordable vs. Expensive? Based on the number of guests? Well too bad, because their filter doesn't even work. Fail.

Do not get sucked into their year long advertising program. They only send robot/catfish leads that create NO revenue for you. I have found all of my clients on Facebook.

Amazing night
March 22, 2015

My son and his new bride Heather had their wedding at the Waterview in Monroe CT last night. Our guest are saying things like "Rock star night" Epic, over the top, amazing.
These words were echoed to me and my wife Joanne all night by the 300 guests we had.
This all started with the General Mgr. Joanna Sheriff who made us feel special, important and most of all at ease that the night would be special for our kids. Sue Beaumont was the next contact person who was simply unbelievable. Every detail, every request was meet with a smile and perfection. The wait staff, bartenders and culinary department shined bright and attended to our guests like they were family. From the cocktail hour in the beautiful Garden room to the 30 foot Venetian table totally exceeding all expectation.
The grandeur of the Waterview was on full display last night as this magnificent building rose to the occasion and handled our 300 guest with plenty of room to spread out. We would like to again thank the Waterview staff and ownership for making the New Mr. And Mrs. Martino's wedding a memory that will last a life time.

I set up my wedding website through The Knot and the day after I sent out my wedding invitations with the wedding website details the site decides that it will not load anymore. So now my guests will be going to a blank page when trying to get onto my website. There has been zero help from "The Knot" support team to help me - I have also noticed on several online forums that other brides have had the same issues with The Knot personal wedding webpages. DO NOT USE THEM FOR YOUR WEBSITE!

TOTAL SCAM -- AVOID!
August 20, 2015

Spent roughly $1500 over the course of 1 year for advertising. NOT ONE SINGLE CUSTOMER OR LEAD was generated. The sales rep, Margaret Fazio promised me the moon, telling me about all the site traffic theKnot gets and how I was in such a good geographic market. Then when I said I wasn't seeing results she said it was because I hadn't completed the "bio" section of my profile, a feature they had recently added. Total BS. I filled out the bio and it made no difference. I wish I had researched this SCAM company before I signed up. Lesson learned, expensive as it was... I will always research companies in the future.
