I signed a contract with theknot.com for a year as a vendor. Seven months in, I have received NO business from their site. I've tried getting out of the contract and have also gone to the BBB. Unfortunately, I've gotten no where. It is robbery! A SCAM.
They presented a great sales pitch with stats and demographic info that sounded like a sure way to expand my business. I have not received any sales from the $100/month placement that I have paid for the last 7 months. After contacting them with my dissatisfaction, they said nothing could be done. I have received approx. 25 "inquiries" from "couples" that say things like, "we would love to learn more about your services and availability" I've responded with info or a request for specific interests that I can help them with and I get NO RESPONSES. THESE ARE FAKE LEADS and The Knot is getting away with it. I REALLY wish I could prove this but they have it figured out, so they can continue to take money from vendors. They don't care and have no moral compass. Yes, I could cancel my credit card on file with them, but then it hurts my credit when they come after the money.
I just hope that one day the truth comes out about this horrible company.
Rev. Sandy LaRouche/ EverAfter Weddings, officiated our wedding ceremony September 20th 2015, in the hystorical Tower Grove Park in St Louis, MO. She is absolutely wonderful and creates her ceramonie's to be as unique as the bride and groom are.
"This was the most beautiful ceramony I've ever witnessed." "I've never been to a wedding as touching as this one." Are just two out of countless compliment ' s that we recieved. Many of the gentlemen guests were seen wiping tears from their eyes right along with the ladie's throughout the wedding. Sandy made our big day personal, unique, romantic and even witty at times. It was like a fairy tale.
I would recommend her to anyone who's vision is of a truly original wedding ceremony, a day that will be completely your own, "unforgettable".

I've been advertising on The Knot off and on since 2012. I decided to stop advertising with them when my contract was done in November '23 and sent an email to the person that was supposed to my contact in case I had questions about my renewal. Well they never got back to me so I sent along a couple of other emails as reminders.
Still crickets and then my card got charged for December's payment so I disputed it with PayPal. Now that $$$ was involved, surprise, surprise, I get someone to reach out to me and because they did ZERO research, they had the nerve to approach me by threatening to send my account to a collection agency.
After I calmly explained that I'd tried to cancel the account weeks ago with no response, she initially acquiesced and told me they'd take care of it. After a day or two I get an email (unbelievably) that since I reached out 4 business days vs. 5 business days before the deadline to cancel, no matter how ridiculous the customer service was I wouldn't be getting a refund.
A BILLION dollar company somehow needed my $125 payment for December. They always had an excuse stating "policy" and kept asking me if I had any documentation prior to what I'd already sent so they could "help me out." It was so tawdry and petty and to top it all off, they COMPLETELY removed any trace of me from their site (10 days before the end of the month mind you so the pymt actually turned into a penalty). No, I couldn't just slide into the unpaid ad category of the vendor page, I had to be wiped from the site as a further penalty for challenging them.
I worked in corporate for nearly 20 years and if I'd inconvenienced a client to this extent, it would have been a no brainer to make sure I accommodated them on this. But nope, not The Knot. Just completely unprofessional and ALL these other 1 star reviews confirm that my experience was in no way an isolated incident.
Keep your money. The Knot is just another website in 2024 with just a little more credibility since they started so early but the wedding market is WAY more saturated with options now and those companies are likely not as full of themselves as this one is... Its just a robotic factory now. Thanks for reading...
While I enjoyed using The Knot to gather inspiration for my wedding and to create our wedding website, I was HIGHLY unimpressed with their customer service. First of all, I was somehow signed up for email blasts and mail blasts from vendors who bought distribution lists from theknot, even though I had specified I did not want to be contacted by any outside vendors. Next, they kept changing the checklists so I was constantly losing what the next steps would be for planning my wedding.
Finally... and most frustatingly, their 'easy' RSVP was not so easy. Yes, the guests could RSVP from the website but 50% of the time, an email would be sent to me saying someone RSVPed while the other 50% had no email. Likewise, 50% of those who RSVPed on the website changed status automatically in our list housed by theknot, then the other 50% of the time they didn't change status which meant I had to meticulously go through my list multiple times in order to make sure I had everyone accounted for... oh this also meant going though their emails and also contacting all our guests again to double check. Oh yea... there were a number of times the guests responses didn't show up. This final issue was so frustrating that I contacted the company about the issue. It's been a month since my wedding and 2 months since I contacted them with no response.
If you don't use them for your guest list, website or checklist and just purely for inspiration, it's great. If you need any support, they are the worst company to use.

As being the Mother of the Bride I wanted everything to be perfect for my daughter's very special day. It was the most unbelievable day. The only way we were able to capture those very special moments we wanted to keep and see forever was from Jack. He was so genuine and kind, I didn't even think of him as our photographer but as a friend. He made sure that everything was just perfect for him to get the pictures exactly how he wanted them. When we first met with Jack he made my daughter feel so comfortable and relaxed that even before we walked away from our appointment our minds were made up that Jack was who we were using and took care of everything right there. Jack was our first photographer we met with and he certainly was the only one we met with. The only problem I had was that once the wedding was over I really was sad that we would be in contact with Jack as much anymore as we were before the actually wedding day. He really was so nice. I know for a fact my next big affair I give, Jack will be the one and only photographer I will use.
I am a vendor and my business offers a unique bachelorette party experience for bridal parties. I approached one of the sales team about advertising on their site. They followed up quickly and urged me to sign up however the catch is that they lock you into a full year contract. I thought that given their visibility I would give it a try.
After signing up as a vendor I was given a internet sales rep to help me set up my on line store front - as they call it. Right at the gate I was told that my "rep" was on maternity leave. I had to contact them several times for them to reach out to me.
I finally (after weeks of waiting) was able to put together a decent site. However never once in 6 months edit any me follow up with me. I was pretty shocked because they certainly hounded me when they pursued my business.
I found that I was not getting any results - and called my sales rep "Gayle" who responded back to me erratically. I was very frustrated as I corned into purchasing a year long iron clad contract to advertise but I had no support whatsoever.
After a horrible six months of absolutely no support from anyone at "The Knot" I was currently promised that they would happily refund the last payment and cancel my contract. I have this in writing. As of this time they say they still need to get authorization.
This has to be absolutely the WORST EXPERIENCE AS A VENDOR THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN.
IF YOU ARE A VENDOR, RUN AWAY! AND FAST!
I had a very poor experience with one of our wedding vendors, Essen Entertainment, and was going to leave a review due to the owner of the company's dishonesty and unprofessionalism, but before I could leave a review the vendor in question emailed me and said he reached out to his personal contacts at the Knot and WeddingWire to make sure my review is deleted; it is an accurate review, and I have emails between us showing the authenticity of the review and his unscrupulous behavior. I forwarded the email from the owner of the company to both the Knot and WeddingWire and WeddingWire actually responded to me and is going to post my review. The Knot is not only deleting my review when I post it, but their review team will also not respond to my inquiries as to why they are deleting my review. Deleting reviews at the behest of a vendor is really damaging to their credibility. Do not trust the Knot or Weddingwire, as they are both part of the same parent company and both of them delete reviews. Be very wary of vendors with no bad reviews since they delete them.

I have dealt with a lot of different wedding companies, but this is the worst. I regret ever contacting them -- and you will too.
Hi Carl,
Thank you for your feedback. If you are willing to share a bit more detail about your experience, please email us at support@weddingpro.com so we can further assist you and learn more about your feedback!
Answer: My honest opinion... do not use theknot.com for your wedding. It crashes often and can be extremely frustrating. Believe me... I used it and was locked into using it because it was on all of my invitations. My best advice: use weddingwire.com. But, if you're not going to listen to my advice or are locked in and stuck as I was, go to your wedding website (not in preview mode) and click on guest list from the dashboard... well... After 9 attempts, TK will not load properly so that I can step you through it (everything else on my computer works great). Sorry, that's all I have for you. I hate theknot.com!
Answer: Tell them the same thing they say to you when you contact them for help in any way! "I don't think it is in our best interest! You are on your own... Good luck with that!"
The Knot has a rating of 1.7 stars from 375 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with The Knot most frequently mention customer service, credit card and wedding wire. The Knot ranks 79th among Wedding Planning sites.
Thank you for the review! We love our Wedding Pros and love seeing rave reviews about them. We encourage you to share about your experience on their Storefront as well!
