This website was advertising applications for Self employed drivers. I registered and they wrote back to me that I had been successful, however due to the crucial nature of the packages I would be delivering they would need to do a Self employed autonomous check via the agency they use which could be done at www.thereferencegroup.co.uk. I did this via the site and was charged #49.99 and I have not heard anything since. I have tried the phone number on the letter sent to me but it just keeps ringing for ages. I read online yesterday by someone else that had used it that it was a scam and that he had gone through the same experience as me. I would like to warn other people not to use these websites as they are fraudsters. During this bad economic period people are desperate for work and might be tempted to use this avenue. Don't lose your hard earned money!
I, like a few others on hear have been taken for a mug by this bogus company,. Desperatly looking for work i saw this advert on Gumtree asking for drivers, on applying i recieved a letter back saying i was excepted but needed an, Autonomous check to be made!, and recomended - www.thereferencegroup.co.uk to do the check. And gave a reference number for the result to go directly to them, (which seemed a bit strange) so i decided to get a check for myself and have the result sent to me. Found the website ( which all looks legal!) paid £49.98., and a couple of weeks later recieved a flimsy bit of paper/Certificate! Stating i had passed the check. Emailed the result to www.drivingjobcentre.co.uk,,,, Have never recieved a reply from them, no matter how many emails i have sent on there " - dedicated 24hr email assistance "? NOW the penny has dropped!, i have been scammed! And it is obvious these two companies? Or scam sites? Are in Cahootes with each other. And now trying to find ways of getting my money back
