I sent in two large kits and four months later they had still not been processed I contacted Threadup but they only responded when I said I'd pay the return fee. I was informed that I'd have the items back in three to four weeks. Two months had gone by and I had not received my items back. I finally had enough and contacted Threadup once again and told them if I did not receive my clothing and accessories back would report it as stolen. The following week I received all the clothing and accessories back. I opened it and was upset to find all the items were heavily damaged. When I had sent them out not a single item had any damage. Shirts and dresses were ruined, jewelry was chipped and a handbag was covered in scuff marks. All the damage is irreversible. When I reached out to Threadup I didn't receive a single response. They are thieves and brats only caring if it benefits them.
This company is unorganized and incompetent. Whoever runs this company shouldn't be running a company unless its goal is to rip off people. I don't even want to give it any stars. I really hate myself for trusting this company. No more and if you are thing of buying or selling to this company, do some research. They do bad business. Also they only reply to good comments and don't have the balls to reply to the bad ones. Research people this company is bad business.
This company asks you to donate your used clothes so that they could price it at retail value and give you a small percentage of it. Not right and not fair at all. Either sell the clothes at a price of a thrift store or don't sell at all. Pricing a pair of used sweatpants for the same price as brand new ones at Walmart is just disgraceful. Get a purpose people, this way or repurposing does not work.
My experience with ThreadUp - is disappointing to say the least. A total rip off. Do not use, try instead Twice they treat customers fairly and appreciate the clothing you send, compare the photos! They ask for designer clothing, almost new top self, but will not compensate you fairly for it. I sent (15 lbs.) filled beg to top, with BeBE, almost new, light worn clothing designer clothing, about $2,500 worth, got $30.00 dollars back! It took them 2 full months to process my bag with disappointing results. Check out who we are on their website, its run by a punch of computer Tech. S considered yourself warned, It's to late for me, I would have done better at a yard sell.
This has become one of my favorite go to places to shop. Very nice items with very nice prices. I have bought everything from jewelry and shoes to purses and clothes.
The only thing I have noticed is that often times, the prices they charge for, lets say a Coach bag or Kenneth Cole shoe, I can get them for practically for the same price new, when these companies send me their sales ads.
Very disgusted regarding payment for clothes sold. Maybe great for shoppers wanted great stuff for next to nothing, but the ones sending in the items makes peanuts. I would have done better at a yard sale.
I had heard of this company and remember in the past it had a good reputation. Not so anymore. I decided to purchase an Adrianna Papell dress. However, a few minutes after placing my order I felt uneasy and wish I had read all the horrible reviews posted on Sitejabber first, then I would never have gotten entangled with battling this 'company' in the first place. In the first place, there is NO customer service number to call when I decided to cancel my order ten minutes later. There are 'chat' assistants who keep repeating the same information: my order could not be cancelled because it had already been shipped. Really in ten minutes? That is illogical and impossible. I ended that chat and began another chat, explaining I wished to cancel my order but instead was given the same story that my order had already been shipped. I asked for a tracking number. I was provided with a tracking number which not surprisingly is a fake one because the item is listed as "tracking information will be updated as soon as item ships." That was ten days ago. There is no hope of a return because their return policy is such that the shipping PLUS the restocking fee is almost the price I paid for the dress. I lost $23.00 on this outrageous, dishonest 'company'. I realize $23.00 is not a huge sum of money, yet it is infuriating to be have my money stolen.
I've left another review. Before... thread up is like that old boyfriend where your curious but deep down you don't want herpes... don't do it people... I'm still mad about there emails telling me to not bother them and selling a $2200 Valentino dress to a youtuber and not buying it from me. These people have A. No fashion sense and B. A smart little operation going. Don't believe any good reviews swear on my favorite dog... do but don't sell list your stuff on eBay for 0$... call me I will list and sell your stuff true story... NO one wants herpes or crabs of the bad kind.
I sent 2 bags filled with clothes that I had outgrown but where still in perfect condition. Designer pants, blouses and a leather West that was like new. After waiting FOREVER to receive any sign that they received my donation, I finally received their payment: $15.51 total for everything! For a hat that I donated, originally worth around $ 45 (crazy, I know), they have me $ 0.75. This hat was hat new and I bad they sold it for a high price.
Long story - frustrating story! I will NEVER use ThreadUp again not will I recommend this to any of my friends. My daughter had the same experience: She donated 4 huge bags full of clothes and they GENEROUSLY gave her $ 30 in total. That is just not right.
Sell or consign your clothes to anyone but these people. I packed up at a minimum $1k with of designer labels (black halo, frye, etc.) and shipped off my box excited to see what they came back with. I initially got a response that they received my shipment - they notified me it would take 2/3 weeks to process. That day came and went with no communication so I emailed them to check in. Over a week later they finally responded to say they were behind and gave me a date two weeks after THAT day as a new processing date. Finally, I get the email notification that my box had been processed. I logged on to find a COMPLETELY different shipment, with some of my clothing mixed in. On top of that, I only received a $63 store credit for the over 30 items they processed under my name. I was so frustrated that I didn't even reach out, took my $63 credit to purchase a purse and gave up. What a joke.
Answer: Same thing happened to me. Now they can't find it and want me to take a 35.00 credit. Just donate to good will. You will have less green.
Answer: Is it worth your time and money? Yes. However, don't spend much the first time. Order the ThreadUp Box. You'll get between 10 to 15 pieces based on your clothing and style options. If you like the pieces sent, keep it, If not, sent it back at no cost to you.
Answer: It may be "legit" but they have terrible business practices towards sellers. They will basically TAKE what you send in an not give you any credit for it, nor give you a good reason why it was not deemed "acceptable." They basically took a nearly new Longchamp purse (used ONCE-not my style) and tried saying it wasn't acceptable. Meanwhile, they have like 6 of them for sale on their site for $60.
