I ordered a 3 toed hatchling box turtle which initially arrived cold, lethargic, and eventually passed nearly 3 days later. I'm not exactly sure who I worked with via email, but the individual I did communicate with made me feel like customer service was great to work with. I very much appreciated them listening to my concerns and going above and beyond to fix the problem. Despite it being the holiday weekend, they were prompt to respond and worked with me on the shipping date to be able to be home to sign for the new hatchling. I won't lie, I was very nervous to open the package to see how the new little guy would be, but the packaging was great! It was still very warm, the little guy was alert, active, and started eating as soon as he was placed in his new home. No doubt in my mind that this hatchling is going to be thriving. I'm giving them 4 stars only because of my experience with the initial hatchling, however, customer service is 5/5 and if this was my initial experience I would definitely give a 5/5 star rating for the new hatchling I received. Thank you tortoise town for going above and beyond to rectify the situation.
I purchased a 3 toed hatchling box turtle. Upon arrival the heat pad was not warm, the hatchling was cold and had a paper towel stuck to its face. I warmed the hatchling up and placed it in its new home. I thought the hatchling was stressed due to its trip, but by the next day it was even more lethargic and struggling to open its eyes. 2 days later I have attempted to contact customer service, they denied the hatchling was shipped ill, and after attempting to explain the situation and how the turtle's health had declined, they didn't acknowledge any of my concerns and just stated there was a 7 day health guarantee if it passes within 7 days. I'm upset and disappointed about receiving a sick hatchling for the price that was paid. I've raised turtles my entire life and have raised 7 hatchlings, they are all healthy adults now, with two of them in their 20s. I understand the care and attention a hatchling takes and understand the needs of a box turtle. Don't waste your time or money with this company. The turtle I definitely believe was ill before being shipped, but by the off chance it was not, the poor packaging has definitely contributed to it having goopy eyes and arriving ill. Very disappointed overall with my experience with tortoise town and the quality of the hatchling I received.
The ordering process was simple and the delivery was super quick. My only concern is the hatchling appears to have a slightly deformed shell, but other than that appears healthy and active.
I bought two baby red eared slider turtles from tortoise town and one of them was obviously sick when it showed up. After like 6 days of trying to nurse the sick turtle back to health I reached out to tortoise town and told them the situation but they showed no interest in helping. I kept emailing them about the condition of the turtle as I kept trying to get him healthy. All they did was keep asking me about the turtles food, tank setup, and lights. I explained and sent pictures of the turtles, the setup, food, and treatments that the turtles had and they couldn't find anything wrong. I told them that the sick turtle just sits underneath the heat lamp or on top of the heater and has barely moved or swam since we got it while the other one was super active and healthy. They said that they couldn't do anything and dont give refunds unless the turtle dies within 7 days of arrival. I ended up taking the turtle to a veterinarian hospital to get treatment for the turtle and they gave us antibiotics. We gave the turtle antibiotics for like 8 days but didn't show improvement and then it died. We are upset about our pet dying and hope this review helps other people from having to deal with this terrible company.
I ordered the bearded dragon on Thursday December 28th and it is now January 2nd. Still haven't received my bearded dragon. I received email correspondence from CBreptile "The shipper" on 12/30/23 stating that my bearded dragon would ship soon. I paid 55$ for over night shipping. It would have been nice to not pay for overnight shipping if I wasn't going to receive my bearded dragon overnight. I will update once I have received my bearded dragon
My nosy be panther chameleon is a dream. He's so loving. Was very tame and loved to be held and played with from 1st day. I was very happy with your service. I want an iguana next!
Got my boxie really fast, ordered Sunday and was sent out Monday afternoon, delivered early Tuesday. So far she is doing really good and seems really healthy.
Beware that TortoiseTown purports to sell "baby ivory leopard tortoises", and on their website page for this, they show a photo of a whitish colored baby leopard tortoise being held sideways in the air between someone's thumb and forefinger. This is a fake photo-shopped image. And there is no such species as ivory leopard tortoise that breeds true. When regular leopard tortoises start to grow up, then the coloration and designs on their shells start to develop, and a few of them turn lighter. That is what some people loosely refer to offhand as a white leopard tortoise. But zero leopard tortoises look like that as babies, such as on the fake bait photo on TortoiseTown's website. If you order this from them, you will receive a random dark brown baby leopard tortoise from whatever breeder leftovers than can finagle from someone else to fulfill your order (since they are turtle re-sellers, not turtle breeders). If you complain, they will just say "we have a biologist on site who confirmed it's the right tortoise." This is meaningless, and it seems to be their automatic catch-all response for any complaint they don't like. PS - If you really want a light colored leopard tortoise, then buy one that is a little bit older directly from a breeder who will show you the individual picture/video, and who is already showing light colors that you want, so you know ahead what you are buying.
Great site, awesome customer service. I submitted my order Saturday night and my order arrived by Tuesday. I called the number on the site they answered immediately and gave me an update as well.
Our newest family member arrived promptly and was well safe in his shipping, we had a great fast experience and will be recommending tortoise town
Answer: Very difficult, Tortoise Town seldom does not answer the phones or emails
Answer: I choose Tortoisetown, because of their video relating to the care of the turtles. Also, when I called they answered the phone and had great customer service.
