I enrolled in auto refill because of a discount offer of $5.00 per month. After signing up, I did not receive the discount. I added my credit card information and the offer "magically" disappeared. I called customer service and no less than 3 people hung up on me when I tried to get the issue resolved. Now, I am trying to get a refund for my entire service and disconnect my service. Please be careful with this company. They are extremely unprofessional. UPDATE: The problem has been solved. I was given what was previously promised and 2 months free service for the inconveniences. All is well. Thank you!
I do not appreciate your bad cell service. Multiple times I have had to reset my kids phone just so it gets service. This last time was the last straw. Thank you for terrible service. I will be giving a bad reference every time someone asks. Hanna Nash - 1
When I renewed my service plan online, I noticed that they tax me at a rate of 8%. I reside in Delaware County, Pa. The tax rate is 6%. I attempted to call customer service but that was a waste of time. I then went online to chat with a rep named Marjorie, she was as rude as can be, when I informed her what happened. It may seem like a small amount to one customer, but if they do this to everyone, a Class Action lawsuit should be considered. When you checkout please check the tax amount on your purchases.

Renewed yearly service plan online.
I've been using tracfone.com since 2008. I am very happy with them. They have great customer service. One of the phones on my account quit working within the warranty period and they sent me a new one asap. Since then I bought 2 more phones for my family and haven't had any other problems.
Never had a problem before but ordered a refurbished phone on line and when it showed up 8 days later, the screen when I turned it on started flashing like a strobe light. It is going on 5 weeks now and am still trying to find out where my replacement phone is, all I seem to get for answers is a big run around on there chat link seeing how I can not call with no phone.
3rd time I've had to activate a prepaid card by calling in instead of being able to load online. Yes it's a good deal price wise but this time I've lost $100.00. Called in, took the number from the back of the prepaid card, said it was activated and to close and restart my cell phone and my account was active and even gave me an end date! 9/28/2028. Just saw on this site that Verizon controls tracfone now. Had thought about going to Verizon... NOT NOW!
Was connected with a person earlier today who didn't listen to a word I said and instead of trying to do anything that resembled help, just hung up on me. I immediately called back and spoke with someone else who did help me with the problem, but oddly placed me on hold a bunch without telling me so I ended up talking to myself a few times. And then, instead of connecting me with anything I could lodge a formal complaint through, also just ended up hanging up on me. I've been avoiding switching phone planes for so long, but I'm 100% considering it after this. Unreal how bad the customer service is.
TracFone sucks big time! Nothing but problems with this phone! Can't use ******* and talked to 5 different techs that couldn't fix problem! Also can't understand people you talk to! This is America, learn how to speak English before you come here!
Tip for consumers:
Don't use TracFone ,their customer service really sucks
I used Tracfone's automated service to change my phone number because I was getting a lot of spam calls. When I did, I somehow lost all my minutes/messages/data. I called Tracfone. I had just purchased an annual plan two weeks before. I spent more than 2 hours on chat getting passed from rep to rep. Finally one of them partially restored my balance (about half). I was told to call the 800 # to get the rest restored. I spent another 2 hours again getting passed from rep to rep. I was also told that they could not see how many minutes I previously had because the number had changed. Two hours later, I was finally told that they would NOT restore any additional minutes. Every rep I spoke with was kind and understanding, but seemed unable to anything. I am now done with Tracfone.
Tip for consumers:
I'd keep looking. Tracfone is garbage.

I'll finish using my tracfone minutes and then find a better company
On the new phones the WEB is available, which is fine. BUT the company puts the access button in the upper right hand corner because they know people will inadvertently press the button WITHOUT intent. For every minute this goes undetected we lose money and the company makes money. So every time 1,000,000 users make that mistake, the company takes in $10,000, and customers lose $10,000. Doesn't it sound like a syndicate con job, considering the company is not going to pay us back for lost minutes due to their 'trick', nor are they going to fix this intentional 'trick' until they raked in enough? I hope I'm wrong because i can't afford a phone with a built in rip-off tool..
First, the coverage is abysmal. Dropped calls every day, whether at home or out. Literally no internet service for over two weeks on vacation. I specifically chose Tracfone for their supposed coverage based on the map that included our vacation destination. No luck getting any refunds for terrible cell/internet service. Also, for this "low cost service", I was charged over $40 for a SIM card for the privilege of keeping my own phone and phone number and switching from Verizon to Tracfone. In total for the one month that I used this horrible "discount" service, I ended up being charged $95…had i just stayed with Verizon, at least I'd have had coverage, service and my hotspot when I really needed it. Tracfone charges a premium for using your own phone as a hotspot; it's just a total nickel and dime operation. I'm switching to Mint Mobile and hope to have a better experience there.
I lost my cell phone on vacation and bought a temporary Tracfone to use to try to find my phone. A kind soul had found and returned my real cell phone - how kind, how gracious. But Tracfone? It was heinous to try to even activate the stupid thing. 38 minutes dealing with an inept language-barrier phone person - when I asked for a manager? Was disconnected. I only activated by going to a library to get their help (I was on vacation - not my town). Since then, I've gone on chat, telephoned again - always finding that they're inept, you can't understand their accent, they don't know what they're doing - what worthless trash. I will now feel better by putting this crap phone under my car wheel and driving the f**k over it. THEN I will feel better. What a horrible, trash, scum, worthless company. I teach college so I'd give them a 5 x's F-. TRASH.

Every month, there's some glitch somewhere that cancels my account or resets my data to zero no matter what my balance. Phone call after phone call after phone call and even then, their system doesn't update until the "new" info is "system generated." They're trying to run their data on weak processors and it shows. I'm shopping for anyone else.
Tip for consumers:
Look elsewhere. The Motorola phones are great, but Tracfone is horrible.

Terrible customer service. Ordered new phone online that burnt-out first time charged. Spoke to 5 Different agents (kept getting disconnected). When they sent cerification code no code was there and NO returns without a code (imagine that). I am stuck with a dead phone! Discontinued their services. At least I hope my service is discontinued. Don't trust them.
I bought a Tracfone plan and have tried about 10 times to add international calling... but it seems impossible. As well everytime you click onto one of their links it says that website does not exist. They must have 12 year olds designing their site (not to dis 12 year olds)

I will never use or recommend again.
After many attempts with customers service to help or fix issue with my phone and the continue need to repeat the same thing with everyone they transfer me to with same incompetence unprofessional attitude and conduct as normal. And that this time cost me to lose a 5 figure contract. This service is ran by people who are not bright to light a LED bulb
I have never in my life experienced such poor quality customer service. The first problem I had with them was when they erased approximately $70 dollars worth of data and minutes from my account. I kept asking to speak with the manager. When I finally got her she told me there was no record of my account and that I must have been mistaken. She talked down to me told me I was wrong and hung up. More recently I signed up for auto-renew for a $5 dollar discount in the first 2 months. I only got it the first month. I've only stayed with them since the phone can't be transferred to another carrier. Avoid this company at all costs!

I purchased a year service with 1500 minutes talk and text. With 1.5gb data for $120. Great deal right? WRONG. The ad is meant to deceive you into believing you get talk text and data every month. The service is 12 months, but once you use your 1.5 gigabytes of data whether that's over one day or one year you have to buy more. I called to cancel my service, they told me sorry, this is non-refundable. Don't waste your money, this company is a scam.
I've been a happy TracFone customer for many years now. Until recently that is. For a few months now I've been losing Internet connection, (that has never, or rarely been an issue before). Now I have to call customer service and I cannot understand them. By the end of a half hour plus I end up yelling at a poor customer support rep who obviously have very poor troubleshooting instructions! I know the person I'm talking to is a hard working employee who is trying to support their family and I'm getting upset with them! The trouble lies with the execs who are cost cutting to the extreme.
Anyway up until Verizon took over I didn't have a problem, now I have multiple problems weekly and I end up yelling at a rep who is poorly led and I feel pretty bad about that. This is my last month with h TracFone and hopefully my new carrier service won't be as poorly managed.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 stopped working. TracFone people required we send it in. We never received a replacement, called and they said they are waiting on a shipment...over three months and still nothing.
I asked if I could get refunded for the one year service remaining on the phone and they (a manager) said, "we don't give refunds." I don't expect to hear from them ever again.
Tip for consumers:
Read the fine print, ask questions about what f the phone (likely)stops working (likely).

Over a period of three days and eleven calls, 8.1 hours wasted time problem solved. The CSR folks simply ignore the root of the problem. Number 11 rep said ok, wait a moment, problem fixed in mere moments. The reps read from a book of standard responses that mean NOTHING. You get what you pay for is a thought of mine. Sad!

Wasted hours on phone calls to get new phone switched over from old phone. Still not working, and now, neither phone is working!
No chat available with customer service, and several attempted phone calls to company were dropped after a few seconds. I wished, I would have read all the negative reviews on tracfone before waiting time and my nerves on trying to fix this tracfone mess!
Sister got a defective phone in the mail. Had to pay $26 to return it. She now can't get a replacement. She keeps trying to call on my phone, and to stop her calling, they disabled my phone! I just refilled minutes 3 days ago. These dirty sobs should be in jail!

4+ hours on the phone to fix the data. But the phone still self drains the data I can't use. **** Me, **** TracFone. If I can convince just 1 person not to buy TracFone before they do, I have saved them 3 years of their life. Stress over one customer service call. If you have a TracFone follow my simple steps on how to fix it. Use a hammer, smash it to little bits. There you go problem solved. Also if your reading this and work for TracFone, don't apologize really do me a favor and go **** your self. All in love, hugs and kisses, phones suck anyways.
Tip for consumers:
Avoid TracFone like drug addicts you don't look in the eyes so they won't talk to you looking for more money.

Phone service from TracFone and they are literally the worst.
The phone service is okay and seems to work as expected. However the customer support is a joke. Representatives do not read your messages in the chat, they just copy/paste pre-made sentences and do not show any interest in your issue. The pretend the info you are asking is not something they can share to evade having to answer anything. When was my bill last paid? Sorry can't share that. What's my monthly charge? Sorry can't share that. When you start to be insistent, they just drop off the conversation and leave you hanging. This is unacceptable and i have switched my two lines to another carrier.
I bought a trac phone but couldn't activate it. After two wasted hours, they said it was the sim card and they would send me another in 3 to 5 business days.
I've been with them for years and recently i had to get a new phone. After the upgrade I lost my data connection. The phone would show 4 to 5 bars but data mode showed disconnected. Customer service chat just gave me the runaround. Kept doing the same thing over and over. Don't sign up with these people. Service is poor and customer service is horrible.
