I enrolled in auto refill because of a discount offer of $5.00 per month. After signing up, I did not receive the discount. I added my credit card information and the offer "magically" disappeared. I called customer service and no less than 3 people hung up on me when I tried to get the issue resolved. Now, I am trying to get a refund for my entire service and disconnect my service. Please be careful with this company. They are extremely unprofessional. UPDATE: The problem has been solved. I was given what was previously promised and 2 months free service for the inconveniences. I purchased a $29 phone and intended to use it mostly one WI FI as a locater phone or to use if my other phone is on the fritz or need to phones at once. It never uses the WIFI even though that is what I set it for and I haven't left my house. I can't call because it used up all my minutes when it was supposed to be on WIFI. The customer service rep. Just keeps saying I am out of minutes even though I told her I realized that but the minutes were not supposed to be used. And that is either the fault of the phone they sold me for their service or something is wrong with the service. She insisted I needed to purchase more minutes. After going round and round I asked to speak to her supervisor. She says there is no need because she is trained to help and has used all her resources and I will just have to purchase more minutes. She never would get me to someone else.

I had been having to call tech support about once a month. My cell phone service was not working more than it was. I had spent more time talking to customer service on someone else's phone than I spoke to people on my phone. Then they screwed up my account even worse: lost my minutes, days, even my phone number. They kept telling me they could not recover the information and do not give refunds. After four or five phone calls totaling four or five hours, and being told to call back again tomorrow- I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. It took nearly two months to get a response. The minutes they could not recover in five hours suddenly became possible in less than five minutes. However, being two months after the fact, I had already changed carriers. I received a refund for the unused time.

I was with Tracfone for three days before I had enough. Customer service is the absolute worst. Getting my phone activated was a complete nightmare. After three days I just lost service. I spoke to four people though chat because I couldn't make calls. The first guy told me I had to wait for my number to port. My number ported three days prior. When I pointed this out and asked questions he blew me off and kept saying, "Thank you. Is there anything else I can assist you with?" The last person I talked to gave me a number to call. When I tried explaining to her that I don't have service and don't have access to another phone she said, "Well, you will just have to wait until do you do." I don't think so, sister! I immediately went back to my old servicer. I'm willing to pay a bit more to a company that will treat their customers with respect.

I was on the phone with 3 different reps, the last one was the most frustrating phone call I've ever had in my life, and I'm 73 years old. She asked me the same questions at least 5 time each. Turn off the phone off, on 5 different time. She said stand by a window to get a good reception, I stood out on my porch, she wanted to know how many bars I got, I said nothing. I told her I was not going to stand on my front porch every time I wanted to make a phone. That's not the worst part, she said Wi-Fi has nothing to do with it, I had an excellent Wi-Fi connection. I finally told her if she ask me one mor time to shut off the phone, I would hang up, that's what I did. She promised if I pay for a plan in advance, she promised she would activate the phone for me, after two hours that never happened, now I have to dispute the charge on my credit card. At one point she said I went over my minutes, Duh, the phone was never activated so that would be impossible, LOL
Last year I had a tracfone that worked while I was visiting the US for the summer. I had no issues with this phone. This summer, I returned to the US tried to get my existing tracfone re-activated and spent countless hours on the phone with customer service and they could not activate it.
I purchased a new tracfone for $39.99 as they said this should solve the problem. IT DID NOT. I spent more hours on the phone with customer support to try and get it activated. Finally after all attempts failed, and getting disconnected SEVERAL times while I was being transferred to their refunds department, I was told to mail the defective phone to INGRAM Micro in Indiana. I was promised I would receive a refund for the cost of the phone plus the airtime I had purchased.
I waited 2 weeks for the credit to my account. It NEVER arrived. I just spent 3 hours this morning (1.20 hours on hold) and 1 disconnect to finally reach the refund manager. And she refused to issue me a refund.

This company appears to be a scam! In 2017 I bought THREE one year plans which would keep me covered until 2020. This end date of 2020 was ALWAYS on my account. There was no problem--until I recently switched to a new Tracfone! Suddenly a NEW end date appeared on my account as 2019. These " customer service reps " INSISTED that the date of 2020 was NEVER on my account. I am now in the process of filing a Better Business Bureau claim against them. Watch out when doing business with these common thieves!
These idiots are nothing but garbage. They are like trash that have been stomped on trillions of times over and over again. Read the other reviews... That should tell you something. Stay away from these liers, thieves, corrupted scamers who have been dropped on their heads a billion times too many. Take your money and especially your time else where. These thieves are a huge waste of time. I guarantee you that they will lie to you and keep lying to you. They treat you like a dispensary. Perchased new tracfone with 1.5 g 1500 min 1500 text. Tried to switch old number to new phone. They messed up activaded new phone with new number. When a tried to get old number switched to new phone they said since new phone was activaded I would loose my 1.5 gig 1500 min 1500 text and one year service. Can't live with that If I am loosing all that I am sending phone back and going to another service. Hope your experience is better than mine.
Tracfone outsources their call centers to foreign countries where you can barely understand the agents speaking to you. One day Tracfone randomly discontinued the phone I bought from them, and they said I can no longer use it with their service. They offered to send me a new phone, but the process of them "verifying" my account was so shoddy and inefficient that they couldn't successfully send a simple text to me to verify it, and they have no alternative way to verify it, so I never got the new phone. Do yourself a favor and go to U.S. Mobile instead. You will have a functional, headache-free experience..

When you are told you are eligible for a refund they transfer you to a 'refund department.' The refund assistant then pretends to 'get further information' keeping you on hold for 25 min. While evidently their 1990s era computer picks out your information. At around 25-35 min. They then disconnect you.

They have such bad customer service. They sound Eastern European and communicate poorly. It feels like they just have one mode of communicating and talk in circles. I would guess they are trained to be like this.

Been with tracfone off and on for over 10 years, the service is ok, had worse, their phones on other hand, don't buy the ZTE phone, the only good thing with this phone is it makes a good dust collector, the phone calls people at will, it erased all my numbers, and pictures, the greatest satisfaction is when i get another phone, i will take a hammer to it, the only other thing is i don't text, so i have over 4,000 text i can use and usually no minutes, and when this happens the phone goes crazy

I just discountinued my service
To unlock my phone they wanted me to pay a fee of $150.00. What a rip off! My wife switched to another carrier a year ago and is very happy with her service now.

Tracfone is the worst. They would not transfer my plan to a new phone. First it was activated by straight talk, who owns tracfone. After they realized I was a tracfone customer, they said they would transfer my phone back to tracfone, but then claimed I did not have the correct answers to the security questions. If this was true, how did I activate the phone? They had no answers for me. I filed a complaint with the attorney generals office in Florida. I will also file with small claims if tracfone gives no resolution to the problem. I am now twelve phone calls in to Tracfone! DO NOT BUY THERE SERVICE or PHONES, look for other alternatives!
I recently went on tracfone.com to find a phone i could use for payments. Needing the NFC feature I could not tell from the information which phones supported it, so I hit the chat. I explained to the service rep what I needed, a phone with NFC capabilities, and he asked what it was used for, so I explained it. After waiting for several minutes he gave me info on a refurbished phone for $59, an A10e that was supposed ot have NFC. He assured me it had NFC, but to purchase i also had to buy a plan, so the cost was now over $80. When the phone arrived I found it did not support the NFC i needed. I contacted support through the chat again to return the phone and was told pretty much I could use the phone anyway without that feature. When I insisted I didn't need a phone whiteout NFC he asked if I would like a call back to return it. I arranged a call back to return it for 8:15 that night. No call ever came. I am out $80 and still can't use the pay feature I was looking for.
The latest hack. My current cell number is listed as my outlok.com contact number but after verifying my account. With the Auth App thru the Galaxy Store. The codes appear to be sent via the same Aut App. But installed at
PLAYSTORE...WITH *******860 That Sim card along with the number Tracfone blocked after I changed the default 1111 code last May.

I have used tracfoen for over 20 years, recently they have changed their customer service to poor. In the past you could speak to someone quickly and get your issue solved in one call. Recently I purchased a new iPhone from tracfone with a promotion of 6 months free service ($25 dollar plan unlimited talk/text 2 gb data) I spend countless hours before I got my unlimited talk and text. And then still more hours before I got 9 gb of the 12 gb that I was to get. I have given up on trying to get the 3gb. Seriously believe they know most people will give up. I love the no contract and the price, I buy the year plan so that I dont have to think about it for the year. Works great everywheres I go across the USA (uses Verizon lines) cost me about $200 per year. As long as you dont have to deal with their terrible customer Service your fine.

When my order arrived I was very pleased and anticipated enjoying this phone in the future... when making calls the phonecall cut off With a NO SIGNAL signal alert just after a few min. In the call... I've spent 7 to 8 hour being transferred from one repetitive to another to have a replacement phone sent to me, no one wanted to help me, crazy people to deal with, this is my first time writing a review & of course the first time a bad review I will take down this review once I will receive a new phone, after talking with tracfone for more then 7 hour & they relized that they are simple wrong they just knock down the phone on me what a shame, no words to explain what bad customer service this is,

Bought a sim card fromTarget store. Jumps through hoops to get the pone activated. Can call and receive but no internet. The card say 4gig of data paid 25 dollars but no way to access. Called tracfone customer service. Off shore tech support can barely understand what they say. After an hour of frustrating with them but still no dice. Worthless scam. They would not let me cancel my auto-refill plan. I was charged twice for the plan I had tried to cancel (the message kept saying that they were updating my phone and as such wouldn't let me make any changes to my account)l. I wasn't even able to update my payment information so that the charges wouldn't come out of my account. I tried to contact customer service many times but was unable to talk to a human. When I finally got through to customer service (this is after days of trying different avenues), I was told that they wouldn't refund the money that had come out of my account. I spoke with the manager and she said it was company policy not to refund the money. Very disappointed with the lack of available customer service and lack of integrity.
I had lost my phone and called to cancel and Tracphone said they could not cancel without the phone number of phone and couldn't even look me up with my credit card and name info. They told me the only way they would cancel was if my bank called them and told them to stop charging me as a customer because he doesn't have phone or use your service. Do not use your bank card for this company only a prepaid credit card since it is next to impossible for them to look you up without your phone or sim number. They dont even have the ability to look you up with you credit card # or your name.
