“Auto refill troubles...”

I enrolled in auto refill because of a discount offer of $5.00 per month. After signing up, I did not receive the discount. I added my credit card information and the offer "magically" disappeared. I called customer service and no less than 3 people hung up on me when I tried to get the issue resolved. Now, I am trying to get a refund for my entire service and disconnect my service. Please be careful with this company. They are extremely unprofessional. UPDATE: The problem has been solved. I was given what was previously promised and 2 months free service for the inconveniences. All is well. Thank you!

Tracfone has drug my grandpa out now for over 3 months and are now refusing to give a refund. They claim he used a 3rd party to renew his 1 year plan, which HE DID NOT. They don't want to verify his account because he's been without a phone and there's been no activity ( CAN"T ACTIVATE THE PHONE THEY FORCED HIM INTO)in over 90 days. I have spent countless hours trying to get him a WORKING phone and they do nothing for him! DO NOT USE! They take advantage of elderly people and do nothing to assist you other than follow their bogus "SCRIPTED" BS. And if you ask for a manager, more times than not, they will hang up on you after you've been on hold for a half hour.
BIGGEST FRAUD OUT THERE!

This service is absolutely worthless, way to expensive and their customer service don't know anything about TracFone, DON'T EVER GO TO TRACFONE. So my rating of this company is negative 8, the only reason there is a star is because they made me put one there

Title - Unlimited Talk Text Is NOT UNLIMITED
I paid $200 upfront for Unlimited Talk & Tex & during an important phone call my phone went dead, TracFone deactivated my phone for good, after 5 calls to them to find out what happened I was told I used my phone too much as some calls were over 3 hrs they said it breached their terms & conditions, even though they advertise UNLIMITED... So Beware Unlimited is not Unlimited & I was only 12 weeks into my 52 week pre paid phone, also they refused to hand my phone number over to a new carrier. As far as I am concerned they broke the contract and stole my money... Never again.

When I refused to upgrade my still working phone to TracFone's newer phone, TracFone cut off my service and refused to refund me the unused data plane. A very mean company! Be Aware!

I ordered a reconditioned tracfone samsung t301g sim 5 + 60 minute double minutes for life service pin card on 7/18/11. This order was suppose to be shipped 3 day fedex.

Well to make a long story short I had to call tracfone 3-4 times and speak to people in foreign countries that I could not understand to get the tracking info. The phone finally arrived, but it couldn't be activated for some reason?

I spent hours on the phone with tracfone and finally found out that they sent me a straight talk phone with a tracfone service card; of course it could not be activated.

On 7/28/11 I was given case #'s for the wrong phone to be picked up by fedex and the correct phone to be shipped out; plus a complimentary additional service minutes card.

As of 8/7/11 I have yet to receive anything from tracfone; except for some emails stating that they forwarded all the problems with my online order to upper management at tracfone and of course I haven't heard anything from them!,

I contacted my mastercard company and disputed the charges; minimal as the cost was; the aggravation and countless hours spent on the phone were not worth just letting the charge stay on my credit card

Stay away from tracfone. I did have the opportunity to speak with a rep at straight talk and she sounded like she knew what was going on, but couldn't help me because my problems were with tracfone; even though these two companies are closely related. I really don't know how these types of so called merchants stay in business!?.

They absolutely do not know what they are doing. They do not speak or understand English very well at all. They do not let you finish your explanation, they interrupt and assume they know what the issue is. They always have to transfer or "escalate" the issue, and 80% of the time, disconnect you, and you have to start the process all over again. I have 2 phones that use this service with 2 deferent plans, and they mix them up. Both are on auto renew every month, and one just lost service for no reason, even though they are both linked to same payment method. They tried to tell me it was my payment method. I lost all minutes and data that had been rolling over from month to month. I asked them to reinstate the same plan that I previously had, asked them to confirm the plan, which they said they could not do, and they signed me up for the most expensive plan. Every time you call, it takes at minimum an hour before they half way understand your issue. I got a new unlocked iPhone and new SIM card and had no issues for a month. Then all of a sudden it stopped working. They told me it was an Apple issue. After receiving the run around and spending hours on the phone with them and having no service for 2 days, I finally went to a Verizon store and an employee there called Tracfone for me. He gave them the EXACT same information that I had been giving them, and it was fixed immediately. I have used Tracfone for many, many years because of its affordability, but these past few years it has not been worth it. They do not care about customer satisfaction AT ALL.

Terrible service - almost impossible to talk to anyone at Tracfone. Always put on hold while my minutes get used up.

Now, they interrupt my calls with WORTHLESS MESSAGES that I cannot bypass!

I am trying to call my doctor, and they block my call, and PUT ME ON HOLD!

I had tracfone for many years with no problems. Not anymore. They are now owned by Verizon. I had autofill so I would not have to worry about making monthly payments. Also a discount was given with autofill. They discontinued my autofill 3 times without my request or knowledge. They wanted me to go to monthly payments. I called tracfone and asked for the autofill plan I was viewing on their website. Service told me the plan was not available. I told her I am looking at the plan right now on your website. She told me to call back in an hour and it might be available then. I decide to switch to a different cell phone service provider. Tracfone made the transfer as difficult as possible. In order to keep your old number with the new provider you are required to have a porting number from tracfone. Tracfone repeatedly gave me an incorrect porting number. I tried at least 4 times and was given a different porting number every time and none of the numbers were correct. It seemed very obvious they were not going to give me a porting number that worked. I now have a new cell phone service with a new telephone number that gives very good service. The actually want my business.

Terrible service. The worst. They want to to request cancelling payment on the same day the charge you, but they do not inform you and they made the charges 33 days before due!

Bought a one year plan Cell phone will not work in most of Vermont asks for a CC number or pin # I am from Vermont Data will not work spent over ten hours on the phone with them trying to get it fixed they couldn't so I asked for a refund and they refused paid for service and did not get any. I would not use them terrible service and they hardly speak English they are from the Philippines and do not know what they are doing

I had a Tracfone cell phone for quite awhile, but they could never keep my voice mail settings in place. I would set up voice mail and make a test call, which verified it was working. Then the next day, someone would call me and hear a recording that said they couldn't leave a message because my voice mail had not been set up yet. This happened over and over, despite my spending an hour and a half on the phone with tech support.

Dissatisfied, I let the account expire, but then I found out that Tracfone was legally required to unlock your phone for use on another network. I called them and they said that if I reactivated the phone, they would be happy to unlock it.

I really liked the phone and wanted to avoid the cost and hassle of getting a new phone, so I paid for 30 days of service to reactivate Tracfone.

When I called to have them unlock the phone, they said that while my phone now qualified to be unlocked, they were incapable of doing that because of some sort of "technical problem." However, if I mailed the phone back to them, they would be happy to credit me $5 toward a new Tracfone.

Seriously? Are all companies this manipulative and dishonest, or is it just Tracfone?

Lessons learned: Buy only unlocked phones. Do not trust a company to ever unlock a phone for you. And most importantly, NEVER TRUST TRACFONE.

I would give it 0 rating if I could. The tracfone never worked. I paid $20 for 30 day service which included unlimited talk & text plus 2GB data. I was never able to use the data and after spending over 10 hours with the Tracfone human robots who all insisted that I had already used the mobile data (when I hadn't) just kept telling me to buy more. I refused as I didn't understand how I lost 2GB data in one day without using it. So I was left with no mobile data for one month. Then when a second phone card was activated and recorded in my account for an additional 30 days, there was nothing. Eventually after long hours on the phone with the Tracfone human robots I got 1.95 GB data added. But then no phone or text. I was told I had already used the "unlimited talk & text" so this time I somehow used all of the "unlimited" talk & text in 2 days! They wanted me to buy more. Tracfone are a total SCAM. They take your data and the only response I ever got was to buy more as I had clearly used it! Their service is non-existent. The whole Tracfone experience has ruined my holiday in the States. I will NEVER EVER use this service again. Run as far away from this mob as you can.

I ordered a new phone to be sent out in 2 days on a Wednesday morning. By Saturday I had not received my phone and I called customer service. I was told that my phone was out for delivery. On sunday I called customer service again in this time I was told that my phone had not been sent out yet as it takes 3 days to process an order before sending it out.
Monday morning I called customer service and was told I would not be receiving my phone until Tuesday or Wednesday. All together I had spent about 6 hours with customer service. At this point I decided to go to the store and purchase a different track phone as I am a single mother and I need to be in contact with my children. That being said when I finally received my new phone a week later., I already had a new phone and did not switch my phone number over immediately. When I did try to switch my phone over, the new phone that I ordered from TracFone was not compatible with TracFone... Today was the last straw recently my phone has been showing a notification sign when I make a phone call that I cannot connect to a Network. I have followed every instruction on their website to try to get the network to work. After trying to chat with customer service on their website for an hour I was told they sent an email with an opt code that I needed to confirm. After waiting about 20 minutes for this email (that still hasn't been sent hours later) I have signed up for visible wireless and you should too.

I am a Canadian who has used this "service" for several years when traveling to Florida. This year I arrived in Florida for a cruise and had no service. After contacting the company and about an hour on the phone I learned a new Verison compatible Sim card was required. I asked why I hadn' t been advised but received no reasonable explanation. Using their site I was told my phone was incompatible. Knowing my phone has worldwide 4g capability I did not accept this information.

I visited a nearby Verison store and after pleading with a rep., who also believed my phone was incompatible, after inserting a Verison Sim it worked.

I purchased Tracfone Sim package from Target and attempted to activate it. No luck after being shuffled to at least three agents, numerous account verifications and finally being told the Sim card was not in the system and that they would start a "ticket". We were now on a cruise and I had ordered a Sim from Tracfone.

On again arriving I Florida I inserted the new card and tried to activate. Again over an hour on the phone, three agents including a supervisor, multiple account verifications, read backs of Sim card number only to be told the phone is not compatible. Tried to explain phone worked with Verison card and was reading the Tracfone card. Agent refused to even try to activate it. Pleaded with her it send a signal and it would either work or not. Absolute refusal.

Agents very polite, and continuous apologizing for delays and asking for patience but absolutely useless. STAY AWAY.

I bought an unlimited talk and text with 4g crossover card when I bought the brand new A03. Activated and put the card on it. Can't call or text. Went to the dashboard and it says 5g crossover with unlimited talk and ZERO text left. Contacted them three times. They asked for another call back number 3 times. No call backs ever. Nothing working. At this point, I JUST WANT MY MONEY BACK SO I CAN GO TO STRAIGHT TALK!

I bought my phone off of HSN. The phone would not Port my old number, then the phone call part did not work, then chat keeps telling me that I need to make a phone call but I can't make a phone call because my old phone number was cancelled with my old phone and the new phone doesn't have a number because it won't port. So this phone is no use to me big pain in the $#*! because I need a new phone to receive calls for the job I was applying 4 I have just moved to new location, TracFone has really pissed me off it made things very difficult at a time when I needed my phone the most so so I had to contact HSN through their chat because I can't call them to tell them what the problem is and ask for a replacement phone what a pain in the $#*! all together this has taken 15 days and no phone at a time when I need my phone the most what the hell is going on with TracFone I've had a phone through TracFone once before and didn't have all this grief

When you sign up for any plan with TracFone, they cannot activate your device. Forget about getting the refund without going through hoops and loops. After 4 hrs spending time resolving the issue/s, they still cannot activate the device. You have to talk to soooooooo many dept. from the customer service dept. to tech support dept. and to refund dept, to the point that you will get beyond frustration and high blood pressure no less, and they still have a hard time just processing the simple $10. Back to your card. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS PROVIDER IF YOU CAN. THEIDF CHEAP PLAN/S WILL NOT BE WORTH YOUR TIME

Please read the review from this company before signing up for your service. they are not worth it. Especially the customer service, tech support dept. Please don't spend 4hr like me, I was a SUCKER when dealing w/ any depts. Ask to speak with the supervisor ASAP

ITS a TracFone device that I had to toss out in the dumpster. I got a new iPhone and joined T mobile instead. I SAY NO REFUND BEC. THEY WERE GIVING THE RUNAROUND JUST FOR $10.

They lie, unlimited data is BS. You have to turn off mobile data anytime your in wifi reach. Then you cannot upload anything, pic or nothing. Unlimited is BS. Never ever use thier services.

TracFone is cheap. I bought a TracFone at Walmart for under $30 on August 9 2022. Monthly service costs me either $15 or $20 plus tax depending on whether I refill data. Service is reliable but Lord help you if you need to call their horrific customer service. Even the process of adding monthly minutes is dreadful. I have had to repeat everything multiple times and spell everything multiple times then repeat the entire process when transferred for no reason or hung up on. I have had an ignorant illiterate rep use the foulest of language and lie repeatedly. One rep told me my request couldn't be processed due to scheduled maintenance then the next rep told me there was no maintenance but rather an outage. After reading notes the second one changed his story to match the first liar. And some months I add my minutes on reserve then the minutes hit the account on midnight after plan expires, but several times the lying incompetent morons processed incorrectly and added minutes immediately, contrary to my request. This has resulted in losing days if service, so my service end date, which should be the 8th of each month, has migrated to now the 31st of the month, essentially losing 9 days of service that I paid for. These criminally incompetent outsourced reps are the worst I have ever dealt with. The best of them barely speaks English and refuse to put a manager on the line and lie to protect each other. Time for a new carrier.

Tracfone is cheating you out of your data. They are not carrying data over. I purchased an 8 GB data card that is to carryover and it hasn't for the past 3 months. DON'T BUY AN 8 GB CARD FROM THEM! I've called them about this before and of course they deny it, but I just caught them not rolling it over!

Spent 10HOURS trying to transfer my #to a new phone with ESIM not one of the 12+ people I dealt with could accomplish this kept telling me I could only do it on the app which I tried 52TIMES with error saying to contact customer service even their so called specialists are worthless and they are all liars. They also need interpreters. Well I cancelled my service altogether they are hands down the most incompetent employees around.DO NOT USE TRACFONE
