Worst experience booking flights with them. At this point I'm almost convinced they are scammers! Immediately after booking our flight, realised the directions were reversed and contacted them straight away if possible to change. They straight up told us "after checking" that THE AIRLINE did not allow it.

However we got in touch with the airlines themselves, and they were helpful- told us it's POSSIBLE TO CHANGE THE FLIGHT at no cost since it's within 24h but we have to go through our travel agency.
Upon hearing that we booked with trip.com, the AIRLINES THEMSELVES told us they experienced many such issues with trip.com including the blatant fact that trip.com's customer service is incapable of handling the smallest of requests. (Screenshots of service chat to prove this)

We called trip.com again (within 6h), and this time they said they will check. Turns out can reverse directions of the flight but they charged us an exorbitant amount!

Our flights were booked at $233 total. To rebook our flights, they sent us an email with a countdown timer charging us a total of $1053 (almost 5x the original!) WHAT?! What if we didn't check?! The timer pressuring you to pay

Worst experience!

The night before my flight they sent an email to update my details. I checked one by one and everything is updated for tomorrow's flight.

I arrived in the airport with my ticket and receipt but my name is not in the list/system.
Such a disappointment and embarrassing experience in the airport!

I'm a patient person so I negotiate that atleast they give me a refund since I didn't take the flight because of that issue.
They can't even give what I requested since trip.com who arranged my flight. What a terrible experience!

To all travellers for business and leisure don't take flights on this website trip.com if you don't want to experience the inconvenience that they have caused me.

I don't recommend trip.com at all.

Horrendous service by Trip.com! I tried to use my flight credit with Fiji Airways, but they kept trying to charge me to use it. My request started with the Trip.com rep telling me I had more than enough credit to cover the flight. Then they came back to me saying Fiji Air wanted to charge me $175/person as a change fee. I refused because Trip.com already told me that Fiji Air will not charge a change fee (I even had to re-share the email stating that). In addition, the Fiji Air website clearly says they will not charge any change fees. Lastly, I had well more than enough credit to cover the cost of the new booking + the change fees they wanted, but they still wanted to charge me that extra fee!

After weeks of back and forth, Trip.com either would not clearly explain why they were charging me or they just completely ignored my emails of concern. Then they replied back again saying they wanted to charge me $375/person to rebook! After speaking again to a Trip.com rep on the phone explaining my situation, he agreed that fees should be waived and couldn't explain why the fee increased. In fact, they even confirmed that Trip.com does not charge a fee. A few days later, I received an email stating they wanted $500/person to rebook! Clearly at this point, they are trying to charge me because my initial booking sold out and the prices have gone up.

I have been trying very hard to be understanding as all travel agencies must be struggling from the pandemic, but Trip.com could never even confirm why they were charging this increasing fee. If they would've been transparent with me in the very beginning, I would have gave in and paid that $175/person. But now my wife and I are out of luck and our desired travel dates are just too expensive for our credit to cover. Absolutely terrible service; and our money is still in their hands. Don't ever use Trip.com!

Scam company

This company is scam, i will till you all my story i booked ticket TKT ref T95AVD out pound flight
Was 7Th March 20, and in pound was 29 March, Because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Airports around the world were closed, all reservations were canceled, and we could not return.
We strat sending emails to refund without any reply from they end!
On july out embassy arrange flights to get us back
As per useless costumer service of MYTRIP company,, the morroco airlines didnot accept to do refund,, however i checked with morroco airline and they informed me they already did refund long time back
When i back again to customer service of my trip company they just promised will return your mony back ASAP
And nothing happens

What A Story…..

My granddaughter and I had a "confirmed" booking at the Coutyard by Marriott in Toronto, After a five hour bus ride we walk into the hotel excited to go shopping at the Eaton centre and give them our confirmation and they say "your booking has been cancelled". I have severe ADHD and my granddaughter too and we both started to cry. There we were in the front lobby and we had to go to a different hotel. Not the Marriott, not Trip.com offered us a Uber to the Chelsea so we walked. We had originally had two Queen beds but had to a take a room (they said it was the last one) with double beds. Trip.com paid for our rooms, that's what they said, no they didn't "we paid for our rooms, they paid the difference thereof due yo their mistake, that is not on us. We were two females with disabilities and we stayed two hours in the lobby of the Marriott waiting for a room somewhere, anywhere, on the March break, really not a great start to the vacation. Then after we are in the room Trip.com calls and says for this mix up we are going to give you $50.89, only received $35.89 as the bank holds $15 for a foreign transfer, so $35 bucks for what we just went through, I just said ya whatever, I was really mad. Then tried yo finish out the rest of our vacation, but really you are thinking about it the whole time. Then we went back home and after talking to friends and family I called them back and said you didn't even pay for an Uber and it's right in your service guarantee. They reimbursed the Uber and the $15 foreign transfer fee and gave me 1000 free coins to have another vacation through them. Not right, never again. Always book with the hotel directly, that's what I have learned. This company is not good.

After I wrote this review, Rei, an Escalation Manager talked with me, in length. She really understood what I went through and that meant the world to me. I have been provided more compensation and now I am satisfied things were taken care of.

When booking a recent last minute vacation I found a hotel through Kayak that was being sold by Trip.com. The rate was 50% cheaper than any other seller listed on Kayak which of course made me instantly dubious. A quick Google search showed mixed reviews and I came to the conclusion that the site was legit but seemingly just had bad customer service, so I decided to take the chance and book the room and set my own expectations that something may go wrong.

Upon arriving at the hotel, sure enough, the room the hotel had reserved was not the room I had booked online. The hotel also did not have any of the room types I booked available. The concierge informed me that I had to contact Trip.com directly to resolve the issue and they could not do anything because it was a 3rd party booking, however they were understanding and offered me an upgrade to a better room than I originally booked for a reasonable upgrade fee. Given that I was already expecting an issue, the upgrade fee was reasonable and I got a better room, I felt content with my purchase and since the online reviews about customer service were bad I almost didnt even contact them but I had some downtime when we got to the room so I tried anyway.

I was able to contact customer service within 30 seconds from their chat system linked easily in my confirmation email. Customer service was friendly and helpful and within 15 minutes they had contacted the hotel and verified that the room reserved did not match the room booked. I was asked to provide a copy of the upgrade fees which again was very easy to take a picture on my phone and upload through the chat system. Within a few minutes the agent verified the document and confirmed they would be refunding ALL the upgrade fees AND an additional amount for the inconvenience. They asked if they could send the refund in points but had no objection when I asked for cash instead. I received a secure link to enter my bank information and the money was back in my account by the time I returned from vacation.

Cancelled a flight. Was sent an email stating a confirmed refund amount of 2XXX. Recevied another email to fill up bank details but the refund amount reflected on the form was 2X.

Contacted agent 1. Agent 1 confirms that the refund amount is 2XXX. Issued a case ID A. There was no resolution.

Contacted agent 2. Agent 2 escalated to "higher management" with case ID B. Was to hear back in 24h to 72h. There was no resolution.

Contacted agent 3. Agent 3 wanted to escalate to "higher management" with a new case ID C. I disagree on the solution and asked for a email of guarantee.

Supervisor of agent 3 called me. Supervisor of agent 3 said she was agent 2. Told me over the phone that the issue was brought up to finance and technical team and there was no resolution, hence she will raise the issue to "higher management". But in the previous correspondence, it was mentioned that she brought it up to "higher management". Said that she could send me an email of guarantee in 10 to 15 minutes. The call lasted 30 minutes with no email.

First and last time with trip.com.

UPDATE
Issue resolved in under 2 weeks since bringing it up.
1. Would have been better if the agent didnt make me feel like im being passed around
2. Refund form shows consolidated amount instead of having different amounts for different forms
