When our friend told us about Trusted Housesitters we were a bit skeptical. The whole thing sounded too good to be true! But once we looked into it we immediately signed up and have been blessed to find this service! Having someone you can trust watch your fur babies while you're out exploring the world is priceless! The sitter we found on this site watched our babies twice and took very good care of them and became a friend! The fee you pay is nothing compared to the price you pay to leave them at a kennel where they can suffer anxiety attacks because of all the noise and maybe not get the care and attention you think you're paying for. Trusted Housesitters makes finding a good pet sitter a much easier and stress free process! We recommend them to all of our friends!

I have been using Trusted Housesitters for 2 years now - 7 different house-sitters. They have all looked after my 5 cats and house really well. You do need to do your own due diligence of course, when choosing the right cat-sitter for your needs. I do phone or Skype interviews and read their profiles carefully. Trusted Housesitters has saved me a lot of money, but even more importantly, has given me house-sitters who are around the house most of the time, and who love pets / animals, which is different than local, paid, house-sitters who usually have a full-time job to go to during the day.

I further wonder about this because I called the 213 number and it was a British woman speaking. It just sounds like they have all of these options that you can press, typical automated setup, and Not only was recording hard to hear but there wasn't even an option to speak to someone. Usually with these memberships that you can only buy for a whole year will not give you an any refund. A lot of the homeowner and pet owner reviews online about this company are from users in the United Kingdom.

Amazes me how people can trust a complete stranger from another country but they did and it was such a fabulous experience. I think both parties should definitely skype if they can't meet in person and you should both feel comfortable with each circumstance. I've had two wonderful experiences as a house/pet sitter and I've also made some lifelong friends. I highly recommend Trusted Housesitters, if you want to travel and if you love animals. Sometimes it doesn't involve animals and people may prefer that. I for one love the opportunity to have a "pet" when I am on vacation. I hope to do another sit soon. We tried Trusted Housesitters for the first time this year and were impressed by the ease of the process. We had several qualified applicants for our one month house sit. The couple we chose did a wonderful job, and we came back to a clean and tidy home as well as happy and healthy pets (and houseplants!). Their communication was excellent, and their detailed questions helped me assemble a house sitters' manual that they felt was very helpful. We look forward to using this service again! I found this site while frantically searching the Internet after a pet sitter I had hired cancelled on me a few days before I was leaving to go on vacation. When I found Trusted Housesitters I thought it was too good to be true. Its been a life saver. I cant overstate how wonderful its been and how many great people Ive met. I love paying a flat fee per year and knowing I have access to a huge pool of people who truly love animals. Even when Ive posted sits at the last minute Ive always been able to find someone. Cant say enough great things!

I belonged to Trusted House Sitters for almost a year before I had the need to use them. I found the website somewhat difficult when creating my profile. My first and only experience with sitters went very well. They were what they presented themselves to be and we came home(early) to a sparking house, happy doggies, and even some volunteer shopping on their behalf in light of the coronavirus and a self-isolation on our part. I am concerned with the negative reviews of the site. I was under the impression that damage, etc. by sitters was covered by the insurance provided with membership. If the review is reliable, I think to not remove the name of a totally unsatisfactory sitter is unacceptable.

We are a recently retired Canadian couple who joined Trusted last year as a means to spending winters in the south without having to spend our children's inheritance on hotels. We signed up as both homeowners and house-sitters, and we could not be happier. We loved both of our housesitting experiences (one a hobby ranch with 40+ animals and the other a beautiful home with talking parrots), and we were perfectly happy with the couple that cared for our house and dog. Trusted's vetting procedures gave us confidence, and indeed there were no surprises. The sheer number and variety of opportunities that come directly to my inbox every day means that we could be doing this year round... We highly recommend this service.

Yes, it can sometimes be hard to stand out in the crowd of other excellent housesitters, but if you persevere and are friendly, enthusiastic and approachable, this is an excellent experience, backed up by a great service from Trusted Housesitters. I have really enjoyed my assignments, and met some lovely people and their pets. My simple advice is to go into it with your eyes open, do your advance research of where you are going, and ask lots of questions of your host if you are at all unsure. This really is a mutually beneficial service, so enjoy it!

Trusted Housesitters has allowed us the freedom to travel while knowing that our pets are comfortable in their home, not lonely, and being well cared for. We've been using the service for over 2 years, and we have met so many amazing people who love taking care of our animals. Simply post your dates of travel and review all of the applications you receive, picking the sitter you feel most comfortable with. We have continued relationships with several of our pet sitters. I would highly recommend this service to anyone who likes to travel who has pets. You can now travel with peace of mind.

In August we will have been members for two years. We've had sits lasting from just 5 days right up to an 11 week sit. We've had sits looking after just 1 cat right up to a sit with 1 dog, 3 horses, 6 budgies and 10 chickens. Sits with 10 cats, sits with 7 dogs, and various combinations inbetween. We've sat on three different continents. Trusted House Sitters has made this wonderful life possible, and offered support when we've needed it. A great company to be part of and hopefully we will stay active members for many years to come.

I've enjoyed the dog/cat and house sit experiences I've had through Trusted Housesitters. They gather information for the owners to help me make decisions about whether or not a posting is suitable for me and my experience. I think they do a very thorough job - asking the right questions of both the owner and sitter so we can have a good idea about to what we are committing.
