We're into our 3rd year with Trusted Housesitters. It's been amazing. Sitters have come to stay for periods of 1 week to 1 month, totalling close to 4 months. The commitment of the sitters to getting themselves here, caring for our cat, and treating the house with great respect has been way beyond our expectations. It must be the win-win nature of the relationship that inspires both parties to make it work so well. It's given us the ambition to be housesitters, too. Once I needed some kind of support from Trusted Housesitters; the representatives gave stellar service with super communication and friendliness.
Prior to using TH we had engaged a variety of housesitters at the then local going rate of $30/day, with much less satisfactory results at greater cost. TH had saved us a LOT of money plus given us peace of mind when we travel, and the icing on the cake - a couple of lasting friendships with some really wonderful people who came to sit.
Common sense is the prime tool to incorporate into your search for a sitter... TH is only a connector tool which works well only (like the rest of life) when you put in what you get out. Bottom line is don't be lazy. Bottom line is... if you put lot's of time into your profile... you will be rewarded!
I was able to take a two week trip and leave my cats at home with a wonderful sitter from TrustedHouseSitters. The process was very easy and smooth. The sitter and I really connected and she was wonderful with my cats. Everything went great! Thank you, TrustedHouseSitters.

I needed a house sitter so I decided to sign up with Trusted House Sitters. I got to the payment page and after many attempts, I was locked out! I called their phone number - "all our representatives are busy on other calls". I then went to chat and was successful in chatting with a young man who had no idea what I should do or why it happened. He said try again tomorrow. I waited the next day. Again a message that no one was available. I went to chat and typed in a message and waited. No one came. I sent in an email and never received a reply!
I will never use a company that I couldn't trust and I don't trust that Trusted House Setters would find a house sitter that I could trust!

This service is a win for all concerned-pet owners can leave their babies safely at home and sitters get to experience a new place. Their website is very good and easy to navigate and customer service is very responsive and helpful.
Sarah and Mike welcomed us with scones and coffee. Rufus welcomed us with licks. A comfy and feel at home place. We have similar tastes in several things. Rufus is a delight to walk, play with and cuddle.He loved to watch tv with us too. Would definitely go back if able to.
I have been members of Trusted House Sitters for several years and have had overwhelmingly good experiences. I always get many applicants for sits and get to choose among really good people who have lots of previous sit reviews. I have recommended THS to many people both to find sitters and to become sitters. It provides a win win situation for pet sitting and pet owners. Highly recommend.
If you haven't signed up you are crazy! TH has saved me so many times. What a delightful way to meet extraordinary people. The sitters have all been truly amazing and I have complete faith in the process. I am even contemplating becoming a sitter in retirement. Why not?! It really isn't! I came upon an article in MarketWatch several years ago talking about a couple who had retired early and were pursuing their travel dreams by joining THS. In the past 4+ years, I've had the privilege of caring for the most amazing pets. And, THS has also afforded me the opportunity to stay in locations near to my children. My most recent opportunity, was in Denver, CO, and the day I started, my daughter, who lived 2 blocks away, delivered my third grandbaby. Thanks to THS, I have been on location for the births of all my grandchildren.
The absolute assurance that their pets are going to be well cared for and loved as though they are my own, provides immeasurable comfort, too, for folks who are going away.
THS has opened doors and new opportunities for me that I never knew existed! Thank you!
Trusted Housesitters is far and away the better option for finding house and pet sitting gigs vs housecarers.com and Mindmyhouse.com. The website could use some better functionality but I am very happy with the service. As a sitter, I am able to provide my own references outside of Trusted Housesitters (eg previous employers and pet sit references from other sources) and provide my own background check. After my first pet sit through Trusted I was then reviewed by the host, much like on Airbnb, and I could leave a review of them as well. The sign up fee is a bit pricey, but if you are serious about finding a quality sitter, or a quality gig, then the fee is worth it. Certain areas have more sits available (like Canada, California, and England) but that is hardly the company's fault.
This is a very useful website for both house sitters and those who need house sitters. Easy to use. We had fun house sitting and are grateful for those who house sit for us. Gives us the freedom to be retired and see the world! Worth the fee charged.
Have used this service twice. Both times we received 5 star sitters who have left our home in good shape and our cat exhausted for attention. Have booked a 3rd sitter and will continue to use this service.
I've used Trusted HouseSitters multiple times over the years for trips ranging from 2 weeks to a month. My experience has been excellent. I have met friendly, caring, interesting people.
Trusted House Sitters provides great advice and guidelines for managing your postings and supplying the sitters with all the necessary information needed for a successful sit.
I have recommended THS to friends and families who have all been happy with the service.
I've used Trusted Housesitters multiple times since 2016, and recommended it to many people. I've never had a bad experience. It's a community of caring, conscientious people. Of course, you have to vet people carefully. The site does most of the work with i.d. verifications; I complete the process by carefully reviewing profiles and reviews, followed by an in-depth phone call or Skype session. I hope to have the experience of being a sitter, one of these days!
So glad I was introduced to Trustedhousesitters. They have introduced us to lovely, reliable people. I have felt confident in leaving my spoilt fur babies and home in capable hands. Each time we have been away, I have returned and my fur babies have missed my sitters, they must have been happy with them. I have also been very lucky that they have also cleaned my home.
I can't wait for our next holiday.
I enjoyed pet sitting Puck for Katie and Ewen. The house was comfortable and Puck was very easy to look after and take for a walk. All the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I would enjoy sitting Puck again.

I can't speak highly enough of Trusted Housesitters. I'm so grateful to have been able to go away on holiday and leave my much-loved cat and home in safe and trustworthy hands, and then come home to an immaculate house, and a pet that had been so well looked after, loved, and was clearly so happy that I probably wasn't even missed. Honestly, if you have a loved pet and are finding it hard to tear yourself away, then I highly recommend this site.

We found TrustedHousesitters to be very frustrating to use and their management needs a wake up call.
Other house sitting websites allow the visitor to view assignments and click for details. Not so with Trusted House Sitters.
As soon as you click fordetails on a place of interest you have to enter your details and before you know it you are being led through an obligatory sign up subscription process - even though all you wanted to do was read about an assignment
If you return you cant login in with your email and then click to view either - as you end up back on the sales process.
Then if you try to search by dates, same thing.
I have read other -ve reviews here about what happens when you sign up - confirms to me that I will not return

I am sorry you have found this section of the site to be lacking, this is certainly never our intention.
I do hope you can appreciate, that as we operate a member to member only service, and always protect the privacy and security of our members personal information, when browsing as a prospective new customer, there is a limit to the amount of information on listings and profiles and opportunities, that can be visible at this stage. Just like a lot of other community / sharing economy based sites, only fully paid members can have full access to the opportunities.

We do have staff available at all times, however, there are times where there aren't any agents available as they are on other calls.
I can see that you have been in contact with us a number of times over the last few days, and I will get someone to contact you today to attempt to resolve this for you rather than address the issues in this forum.
I sorry that you feel that you wouldn't have been able to find a sitter that you trust through our site. I am confident that once you do join, you'd be able to find the perfect sitter for you.
