I have used TrustedHouseSitters a number of times, always with success. It has been really a life saver for me as I travel quite often and have a large family of pets who need specialised care and I big old house that needs to be kept an eye on. Bluntly it would cost me a fortune go away if this wonderful concept did not have a platform that serves the purposes House and pet owners and prospective house sitters. On the one occasion that a sitter fell through at the last minute, THS pulled out the stops to help me find a replacement at short notice. - I am really grateful for the personalised support - it made all the difference, I found the perfect sitter and all went really well!

I really love TrustedHouseSitters! I've only been a member for about a month and I've already completed my first house sit and have three more lined up. As a person who travels a lot, I don't have my own pets, so this is not only a great way to see the world but also be around animals, which I love. It helps a lot to read the reviews of past sitters and the website is set up really well so that you can search for house sits based on the type of pets, location, dates, and duration of stay. You pay just one yearly fee, which is less than a stay for one night would cost in most hotels. I highly recommend this site for anyone who loves animals and likes to travel!

I was highly skeptical of this housesitter business... and I was highly doubtful that I would find someone at the very last minute for a month-long sit... but rest assured you can trust this service: I had 2 sitters interested, which surprised me... and although I was nervous to have a complete stranger in the house, I was thoroughly surprised at how caring my sitter was. We came home to a completely clean house and a very calm pet. Can't say enough good things about this service. Use it with confidence! Thank you, TrustedHousesitters!

I've used Trusted House Sitters 8 times now and have had wonderful sitters. I never approach sitters but wait for replies to my advert from people who want to holiday where I live. I always get at least 10 replies (probably because of my location) so I am rejecting 9 others. I do message and have given advice on how they may improve their chances when applying for other sits.

Most sitters are not looking to sit locally as it is meant to be a holiday for them, so probably not worth contacting. I would imagine most sitters don't know when they are available months ahead so don't update their calendars but instead apply when they are available/interested.

I advertised my house site yesterday and have already a sitter lined up.

Sitters struggling to get a sit I would suggest taking a couple less desirable ones in order to get a few references and get the Enhanced Verification..

We have had beautiful experiences in three different countries now, thanks to TrustedHousesitters. We have made friends with hosts and their neighbors, gotten to know interesting places very well, and enjoyed pets and cuddles with horses, cats, rabbits, and fish! Staying in these beautiful, well-appointed homes is a wonderful, very cost-effective way to explore an areas real life - I could never learn an area this way as a tourist!

I've had the same cat and dog minders for over a decade. The family who kept my dog had to take in a parent's dog and with a new standard poodle puppy, they didn't think they could mind Sadie. The wonderful woman who came in to take care of my cat, Maggie, just moved to Toronto to be near her daughter. So in February, I no longer had people to care for my elderly pets. Someone mentioned TH and my first experience was excellent especially since she only got to travel across town and because she handled a worrying 'stumble episode' by calling me immediately and making a video of the event. Vet checkup after trip cleared any worry and used the video to help in the assessment. So... I will use again keeping in mind the cautionary notes in the negative reviews. My trips are usually less than 10 days and I live in an area expensive to get to...

Our experience has been fabulous with this business! The way it works is very clear -- in equal exchange for house/pet sitting, you receive a place to stay (or vice versa). We have viewed hundreds of potential sitting requests all over the world. The ones that interest us and to which we can commit the time, we have applied for. It is a great way to travel, learn how the locals live, and meet some incredible people. We love the flexibility, the possibilities, and most of all the community of people who use this resource.

We just had our first experience with Trusted Pet Sitters and it could not have been better. The family that sat for us was first class, taking excellent care of our animals and our home. We were worried about finding sitters since we are in a rural area but we had responses within a day of posting for 2 different trips.
