Im sooooo glad my friend showed me this website. It gives me such a peace of mind knowing my pups and plants are taken care of when I'm gone, and it's awesome I can apply to stay somewhere when I travel too! HIGHLY recommend if you are a traveler.
I love to travel but don't have the budget to stay in hotels. I love animals but don't have the time to commit to my own pet again full time. This allows me to meet new people, their pets and stay in lovely places! I get to love on pets plus give their families the knowledge that their pets will be safe and well cared for. I feel safe staying in their homes as I know that they have been checked out as much as I have been. I wouldn't do this if I ever felt unsafe or that I had been put in harm's way. It's a wonderful way to meet like-minded people from all over the world!
Trustedhousesitter should include a mandatory declaration of security cameras in the owners premises as part of the listing. As sitters are not paid, sitters should not to be filmed, the trusted aspect of which this community is based on is being violated. Suspension of owners who violates this regulation should be enforced
No protection of sitters from nasty reviews and false accusations, make to live ubder surveillance cameras which I check prior with the house owner to make sure there is no camera. Arrived and can't back out, cameras are installed in places. People coming in and out of house with repairs, installation, cleaning, and the dog are aggressive hence needed constant supervision. Dirty house that requires me as a sitter to constantly clean. I ended up cleaning and washing the house all day long beside taking care of the animals. Owner left a bad review. TrustedHousesitters offer sitters no protection for a good hearted sitter who take on all the extra responsibilities similar to one of the people they hired to work in and on the house. Absolute shambles
Jean and Scott were gracious hosts who made us feel at home and we're also great guides to their city. Their home was well appointed, clean, and close to shopping and great restaurants. Their three cats were independent and easy to care for. I would highly recommend this housesit!
I joined in November 2017 and I have just finished my fourth sit. I have cared for two dogs, two cats, two birds and numerous fish. I have been to Portland and Seattle but have also done two nearby in New Jersey and in Brooklyn. I have enjoyed them all and met really nice people. This is a wonderful way to travel and be a local as well as doing a good deed. It is wonderful to have the company of a cat or dog. I recommend Trusted Hosesitters very highly.

I have done three house-sits from this site, two in Perth and one in Tassie and all have been excellent, both the pets and the pet owners. Good pets to look after and nice thoughtful pet owners whom I felt really appreciated me.
Over the last few years we have had almost a dozen pet sitters... We have four dogs so taking care of them is not something every can do... BUT EVERY PERSON from TrustedHouseSitters were awesome! I mean, really, really awesome. Some have even become wonderful friends who have become more like family! Just this past weekend we had out latest TrustedHouseSitter and we fell in love with them again, prompting us to say, "HOW DOES TrustedHouseSitters get top-notch sitters EVERY time?" It's truly amazing! We wish the whole world were like this! What a wonderful resource, not only for our dogs, but also for us! WIN-WIN! :)
There are plenty of sitters to choose from. As a homeowner, I would like to be able to upload more pictures. The website is a little awkward to navigate. The help desk folks are really nice and helpful. If the website could be improved, I would like it a lot more.

I was skeptical when I heard about this service. But my niece had used them for a couple of years and raved about it. Than I had an unexpected opportunity to go to New Zealand for 2 weeks but really couldn't afford to board my dog. So I decided to check it out and WOW. I had a great gal stay at my house and care for my dog and she was fantastic. I included the use of my car for my sit (most people don't) and she took me to the airport and picked me up and the house was cleaner than I left it. And I think my dog more sad to see her go than happy to see me return. Believe it. It is legit!
We have just done our very 1st housesit with Trusted Housesitters. Wow, it was fantastic!. We expected to go to a small town but it was a beautiful city in New England NSW Australia with lots to see. What a hidden gem. Thank you Trusted Housesitters as without you we would probably never have gone to this divine place. It is also a really fantastic way to meet new friends and learn all about the area and the country in general.

I've been using THS for almost a year, and every sitter has been fantastic. The people that apply to housesit are obviously animal lovers, and I haven't had a bad experience. I have recommended the company to many colleagues.
With an old dog and old cat I didn't know if I could renew my pets when they died as my life takes me abroad a lot. With TrustedHouseSitters I now know I can and that has given me freedom and a huge releif to know that they and the house will be in good hands. It is an excellent system.
While the sits are mostly great and there is high volume, the company is terrible. The site is constantly changed and not for the better. The rating system is complicated and unfair. There is an overall rating and 5 subcategory ratings. Despite having seventeen 5 star ratings and eighty five 5 star sub category ratings I was knocked down to 4 star overall rating because of one 4 star sub category rating. I have completed 30 sits but now because I only have a 4 star rating I am not getting any offers for sits despite having all 5 star overall ratings.
The customer service person I spoke to Josh was rude and condescending and gave me vague conflicting rationales for the drop in my rating with no reference to any policy they have on their rating system. Don't bother. Use house sittings america or another any other site.
We have four well loved dogs and two cats. Because of this, traveling has always been complicated. Trusted Housitters has solved this for us and provides us with great piece of mind while we are away from our Furkids. Whishnwe had found them sooner!

I completely understand your concerns about wanting the star rating system to fully reflect all of your fantastic reviews. You are correct in that as one of the reviews did not have a full five stars in all of the categories it has reduced your overall score to four stars. We do not yet have half stars to more accurately round up your score, however, we are in the process right now of looking into how our review system works and the best way to represent the star system when members have all five-star reviews but one review does not have a full five stars in all categories. As soon as we have this in place we will let you know.
Whilst we are happy for you to express how you felt when you contacted our support center to raise this, as all feedback enables us to improve, I am saddened to hear that you felt the need to mention a Membership Services Agents name on a public review site.
