Sandra and Colleen went well beyond what we imagined our experience with Trusted House Sitters might be. This was our first-time use of the service, and we could not have been more impressed with the entire process. The website is easy to navigate; the developers seem to that thought of everything - anticipating questions and issues one might have in bringing newcomers into the home and watching the pets.
We asked Sandra and Colleen to join us for dinner the evening before our early-morning departure, and this gave us an opportunity to share info about our house, and for them to meet our pets. Kali the cat is low maintenance, but Figaro the dog can be somewhat reactive. He barked, and wanted to playfully chew and hump when they arrived, but these ladies are both expert dog handlers, and they instantly got Figaro to calm down and accept them as new friends in our home. They also sent us regular updates with photos while we were away. We were so confident that we had left our home and pets in the best of hands. Sandra commented that some of Figaro's puppy-like enthusiasm would be calmed if he were able to be around other pups. So, at some point they got him a furry, stuffed toy companion, which he dearly loves! This was another example of the care and insight they bring to their sitting assignment!
We suggested that they shouldn't, but nonetheless they washed their linens and re-made the bed before they left, also vacuumed and cleaned the kitchen - probably cleaner than when we left. All who consider Sandra and Colleen for a sitting gig should know that they are in for the best of all possible experiences!
Trustedhousesitters.com is an amazing concept, an incredible community, and a pretty good site/app. The concept works, and the pricing is on-point. I love the community and what I can do with it (both find places to stay in other cities and have sitters watch my house & pets when I travel). Honestly it's been a godsend. When I first discovered this site & community, I thought it was too good to be true! But nope, it's real. So glad I discovered Trustedhousesitters.com, and I recommend it to literally every traveler I know.
Their site, however could use some more intuitive user features, and their app needs major development (e.g. Right now you can't edit anything via the app, like your home listing or welcome guide or anything like that. FYI guys, majority of users interact with sites via mobile these days, so your app has to be at least as functional as your site).
Regarding the desktop site: it needs an easier way to manage your past posts, so you can see easily a history of your listings and sits, and who sat for you, etc. Feedback given to you as the homeowner is very buried and hard to find. You cannot set alerts for searches if you're looking for a housesit in a certain city & date range. Also, you don't seem able to edit your Welcome Guide unless there is a live housesit in play... which is ridiculous, I should be able to edit it at any time. If it *is* possible, they make it very hard to find - I'm in web app UX myself so if I can find it, I guarantee others can't either.
I think they would benefit from product feedback surveys or their PMs reaching out to users to see where they can improve to make the process easier, and the community more confident in the team behind the tool. But otherwise, this site/community is great and I highly recommend!
NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS STAY AWAY, THE SITE WON'T LET YOU CANCEL SIT REQUESTS OR SIT CONFIRMATIONS. Boy oh boy what a nightmare trying to use this site has been. I requested a sitter who said they were available, but the sitter didn't confirm the sitter request for a whole week, and then cancelled it a week later. So then I found another person from UK to sit, had sent them a sitter request, and they didn't respond after 2 days so I sent them a message saying to cancel my sit request because we did not connect via whats app like we were supposed to. They confirmed the sit request when I told them I was not comfortable having them sit after all. I then tried to cancel the sitter request because I was worried this person is a fraud, and the site wouldn't let me cancel it anywhere. I ended my membership because that was all I could do, so $100 wasted down the drain and no sit. WILL NEVER RECOMMEND OR EVER USE THIS SITE AGAIN. Also, various emails and calls to customer service, and no response or help! Completely useless and a nightmare has been my experience.
I use this site for finding sits AND hiring sitters and have always had great service.
Good site overall.
I love the opportunity to enjoy living somewhere different and new and taking care and loving someone else's pets.
Liked the speed of processing the order, feedback from the buyer, fast delivery, responsible attitude, satisfied, I recommend it.
Great website, easy to use and very easy to find sits. Good communication with the people looking for sitters.
From the beginning of ordering to delivery everything is just fine - everything is controlled and all changes are warned!

Answer: Fees are an annual membership for both homeowner and pet sitters (approx $120). With thousands of members, I've not had any problem finding a sitter.

We not aware of any issues with this new feature, as you describe in your review, so I was sorry to hear you were having a problem with it. We could have certainly helped you with anything with regards to managing your sits requests, confirmed sitters and accounts given the chance, so I was very sorry to hear you felt you had not choice but to cancel your membership.
We have a large 24 hour Membership Services Team available on the phone, live chat and email to assist with member enquiries, however during our busier periods, we work to a 3 day turnaround for responses, as we respond to enquiries in the order they are received. However live chat is always the quickest way to get in touch with us and is pretty instantaneous. With the information provided on this review, I am unable to check the specifics of your contact to us, my apologies, but if you get in touch directly I can certainly give you a follow up to anything that remains outstanding.
