Uber is a great way to get around the city. They have a convenient app, fast cars, and polite drivers. Sometimes prices can be high during peak demand

Top Critical Review

“Scam company”

R M N.

Unfortunately there is a zero star to rate this company. I was charged $110.00 for a "membership" that was never requested as I very rarely use this stupid service (it was used once since last year). After countless hours of messaging, as they do not dignify a mortal customer with a phone call in order to be as anonymous and detached as possible to keep on offering no customer service, I was informed that nice Uber would reimburse a whole amount of $30.00. What a scam! NEVER again will I deal with this "mafia" like so called company. Horrible!

Uber charged me twice for the same ride and then told me one of my friends or my family must have used my charge account to book the second ride to the same place on the same day and they even added a tip for the driver of the ride I did not take.

Uber's advertisement that you can now CALL Uber for customer service is a bald faced lie, there is no phone number and no customer service by phone whatsoever.

Uber's business model is based on lies, dishonesty, and illegal behavior as anyone who follows current news can see.

Tip for consumers:
Use Lyft instead

Very pricey on both uber rides and Uber eats. The worst customer service and support. So dishonest and unprofessional. Unable to reach someone live, it's only via chat. I double tipped an Ubereats driver in error and are denying me a refund of the extra $…

Products used:
I used Uber Eats. They only have a 1 hour window to review charges, otherwise they deny your complaint. I didn’t realize I had double tipped the driver until I was checking bank statements, and noticed the extra charge. Attempted to reach out to an “agent” and ended up “chatting” with 3. All unprofessional all unhelpful and I was denied my refund. The Uber eats drivers got a $10.52 tip for a $20 McDonald’s order

And then these people have charged cancellation fee from paytm account.
They are just good in harassing the customers.

Have Used Uber several time to go to my daughters house, always charged about $25.00, on October 31, after getting and estimate of $21-$25, I was charged almost $50.00 each way! Double what it cost several times. 20 minute ride each way, no traffic. Can't call, all you can do is email! They keep replying they need more information, keep giving a detail description which was emails lasting almost an hour to write and still nothing! If you live in the Ny/Nj area contact ( Better get Verrcaro) channel 4, maybe they could do a story on this problem!

But his devolved into complete garbage. My little cab company is more reliable. If you need to be somewhere like an interview, airport or Drs appointment at a certain time they are NOT RELIABLE. Drivers change their minds at the last minute and decide to cancel when they're two blocks away.
Watch your credit card statement... I've had to do three chargebacks because of these fools.

I could Not reserve one 30 minutes ahead, only up to 90 minutes. So at 4:00 pm I gave up and paid $27
107.93 from St Petersburg airport to Bradenton without tip. I had no choice. Driver said because rush hour, But when I got home 5:15, I checked and same route was $50. We're there very many Ubers available, Yes, I picked the cheapest. Strange how that rate changed. Really? Don't tell me busy time because there were many available, lol seriously at the airport, no shortage. Not seeing rush hour at 4 pm but not 5pm. Unconscionable!
Never again will I Uber.
You owe me $50.00!
Fool me once, shame on you.

One driver in the Dallas area actually had the gall to post a rant on Craigslist about how he feels about his passengers because they don't tip. His own words were, "... you are a cheap a** bas****..." Isn't NOT tipping part of their advertising? Aren't low rates supposed to be part of their attraction? When I contacted him, he was even more vulgar and said he was only driving part time. Thank goodness for small favors, I guess! With drivers like these, why would anyone even bother with these headaches? With attitudes like these, I'm guessing these people just can't get a real job anywhere else...

Calculating in typical expenses of $. 55/mile, Profit 0. Then you have to pay your own self employment "taxes." true income -15%!
Today I kept completely busy for 2 hours. As soon as trip done with one, another came. Rush hour Tuesday 330-530 was the time I actually had my Uber turned on. Took 40 minutes to get home. Milage was 50 miles. Recall that you cannot choose where you will go to. Gross income from Uber: 26 dollars. So before expenses, 13/hr.

At SFO, 1st driver says cannot pick me up. Ok so i summon a 2cnd driver who takes 30 mins to get me and I'm only going 1.5 miles. I could have walked faster. No 800 customer srv number nor does their app let you reach them. I filled out something and hit submit-never sent. And in SF where uber began! Borderline stupid app, terrible service. Cancelling my account.
DON'T USE THEM! Wasted almost 90min to do all this for a 1.5 mile ride. Hot charged cancel fee of 5 bucks too for 1st inept driver. I hope uber sees this. Love the "law" bull$#*! language below. No bull$#*! here. Poor service no doubt.

I tried to schedule a ride with Uber and was given an error message to try again later.
My card was charged three time leaving me stranded in Atlanta. When you go under help on the app, no help, The safety line transfers you to the schedule ride line and they transfer you back to the safety line. Mind you, its darks right now! I literally am in tears.

I've been driving with Uber for just 3 days and made over $250 already... no lie! I maybe put in a total of 15 hours... that's like $17.86/hour! It's awesome pocket money! It's also a plus if you have a vehicle that can seat more than 4 people... means more money for you! I encourage anyone to try it out... you make your own schedule... it's a win win! Uber's customer service department is absolute GARBAGE! All i needed was help changing my password because someone had hacked my account. They wanted information like my social security #, which I was not going to provide. There is no # to call them unless you pay for a premium membership - so i went to their chat support. 7 representatives came into the chat and left immediately without resolving my simple request! Or giving instructions on how to change my DA*N password! Lyfe will have my business from here forward.

Visiting Canada but drivers can't speak English so theres an immediate communication barrier which is not good in a foreign country.

The driver never looked for me; 2 minutes are up. I tried to cancel, then found him. He didn't take me but was billed anyway.

2 minutes is never enough time to identify a drivver. No signage on their cars... terrible service.

Beware. Bad business model. Take a taxi instead.

I worked for Uber and Lyft for 2.5 years and all they did was take take take from the drivers who ate mostly foreign laborers here illegally and are afraid to fight back against corporate crime. Wage theft. Like you wouldn't believe. Don't do any Gig Economy job. The government needs labor regulations. The state of California is setting the example by fighting them!

I'm a soon to be ex-driver for Uber. I know exactly how it works, and I can honestly say this is the worst company that I've ever encountered in over a half-century on the planet. The CEO recently stated in an interview (video available online) that the AVERAGE driver salary is $100,000/year! I probably couldn't GROSS that in (4) years and working ~70 hours/week, and it would take nearly twice that to bring that kind of money home. They're about lies, greed, and not taking any responsibility. You should know - if you ever have any problems with Uber, and you most likely will, there is no customer service to call (and they have your credit card information). They don't list any phone numbers for the riders or drivers. They hide behind the shield of the Internet. You will, eventually, get some kind of reply, but it is often in the form of a cut-and-paste/canned response. If I went into detail about how bad they exploit their drivers you'd think I was making it up!

You've been warned!

I can't normally be bothered writing reviews whinning about the world like every 'it's my right, I deserve and I should be given Millennial $#*! head...
However Uber are quite possibly the worst cab service on the planet. Ordered a cab 2 hours ago and bumped god knows how many times, Where's the management and quality control, any other business would fold with this kind of incompetent application of business and 'who gives a $#*!' attitude. Where's the competition, someone one out there will kill it against these clowns!

Uber is complicit in nationwide drug, human and weapon trafficking. They knowingly allow bad actors to misuse their platform.

Uber underpays drivers, who have to pay for everything: gas, tolls, insurance and vehicle maintenance.

Picture from the advice section of the UberPeople forum shows a new movement and possible driver exodus.

We had 5 people for a ride and ordered an Uber xl. Regular Uber arrived and could only take 3 of us. So incredibly frustrating. Uber, like all companies after Covid has relied on excuses for poor service. Not the drivers fault. Get it right!

I see a lot of dumb as riders here who are talking out of their asses.

Goddamn idiots, the driver has no control over the fare. It is your dad Uber that sets rates. Read the frigging terms and conditions before bringing your lazy entitled lard asses into the car.

Those looking for cheap or free rides and complaining about $0.95, take the friggin bus. You don't deserve a car ride.

Frigging losers!

I have been driving for uber for a month now. Nothing but incredibly awesome experiences. Both with the uber staff and the riders. Yes there are surges at times when their are more people needing us then drivers available. I find the social aspect very rewarding Im satisfied just be smart about it and its a win win situation. Remember don't get crazy with your income from it. Take into consideration you have to pay taxes and car maintainence. I absolutely love it...

Called for uber to take us to union station from American university section of DC. Initial proposed charge was for $21 then just before pick up got message surge pricing in effect. Without proposed charge. Agreed since too late to reschedule with other company. Pick up was at 9:47 am and there was little traffic. Charge was $55.82. Fee for larger vehicle to accommodate handicap from Regan airport on return was $34 without tip. A longer trip. Contacted uber which was difficult and no remorse whatsoever. Will never use uber again as no trtust factor at all. Car was mediocre at best. Not a accompany to be trusted under any circumstances.

While on a trip tried to use uber without success. There were 5 of us so we needed (according to the website XL or SUV would work) so I selected one in our area and it gave me their phone number. I called to make sure they would be able to accomodate all of us and the driver said no so i ended up calling the local cab company. Wasted time researching and frustration due to the fact i cant remove my credit card information now! Once its entered you can add more however there is no way to remove it and apparently no customer service!?!

Write your review to help others learn about this online businessI was charged $104 for less than a 30 minute drive home from the airport when no surcharge was in effect. When I requested to speak to someone I learned it's because the cars are priced differently even though the app failed to provide this information at any point of time. The representative said they could do nothing so I requested to speak to her manger several times via email with no response. Situation was handled very poorly and I've still received no response. Shady.
