Uber has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,521 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Uber most frequently mention customer service, credit card, and phone number problems. Uber ranks 39th among Car Sharing sites.
Uber is a great way to get around the city. They have a convenient app, fast cars, and polite drivers. Sometimes prices can be high during peak demand
Unfortunately there is a zero star to rate this company. I was charged $110.00 for a "membership" that was never requested as I very rarely use this stupid service (it was used once since last year). After countless hours of messaging, as they do not dignify a mortal customer with a phone call in order to be as anonymous and detached as possible to keep on offering no customer service, I was informed that nice Uber would reimburse a whole amount of $30.00. What a scam! NEVER again will I deal with this "mafia" like so called company. Horrible!
An uber was called to bring my friends home. He heard them argue the entire way home it's a friend that she was trying leave. He then proceeded to pick the same girl up and take her to the airport. As several of us told him not to take her because she was drunk.
Most of my Uber experiences have been good except... driver cancels and then there is a price surge. Yesterday I was quoted 23 dollars and then the driver took his own crazy route and the bill is 38 dollars. I also got ripped off when a driver went the wrong way. Is this normal?
I started driving for uber. They take so much out of my far. I figured it out that after gas, I make less then minimum wage, and none of this includes wear and tear on my truck. I would not recommend it at all.
F*ck Uber. They have horrible business ethics and refuse to take any accountability for their actions. They are on par with rapists because they surge prices at peak times when people are the most drunk and most likely to misunderstand something and they take advantage of people's drunkenness to rob them of their money. Not only that, they refuse to accept the fact that they made a mistake and they refuse to fix it. They charged me a surge price and I never accepted it. Nothing ever appeared on my phone screen giving me the option to accept or deny the surge. No matter how drunk I am, I would have denied the surge and walked home or gotten another taxi service.
Tip for consumers:
DO NOT USE UBER. USE LYFT OR A LOCAL CAB COMPANY WITH GOOD BUSINESS ETHICS.
Uber is pretty good for riders - a real scam for drivers, wear out your car for less than minimum wage in most cities - - the amount they "claim" one can earn is a lie and a few drunk riders will bring your rating with Uber so low they will fire you - - thank you Uber for firing me
If you add funds to your cash balance, they still charge your card for the full amount. If they can't charge your card, you can't use your cash balance. I had them refund my cash balance. If you use PayPal, you only get charged once, unlike with debit/credit cards, where you get charged twice and it's above the amount for your order/ride.
Tip for consumers:
Make sure you have funds on your card cause even if you have added funds to your balance, you won't be able to use that if they can't charge your card first. If you use PayPal, they charge the correct amount once. Other cards they charge twice and for more than what you were supposed to pay.

First time using uber, uber charged me three times for same trip at the same time monthly. I emailed them to no avail. They response was we have to locate and speak to the driver, it is the driver thats billing you. Eventually I had to cancel my credit card to stop billing. I was never refunded. Uber is a thief and unethical business.
If you think you're going to make money with uber / think again this is the new form of a slave labor. As a taxi driver you will receive half of what you used to make with the other company if you currently drive for uber you better stop now. They don't care about you. I did it for a year and its not getting any better the price was reduced and the search pricing is a scam goodbye over
UBER does not pay their drivers enough. Driving somebody 2025 minutes for five dollars does not even pay for gas. And not to mention they advertise except the rides you want. So when we except rides that makes sense so we can make money it counts against us if we don't except all of them. For example, why would we except a ride, it takes 20 minutes to get to one person and they're only going 11 minutes. We don't make money on rides like that but yet it accounts against us if we don't accept it.
My account has been suspended by Uber (I don't know why), there drivers are always late, poor quality cars and a costumer support which never replies to your emails.
A big no to Uber,
Your days in India are counted.
May your company get dumped, Uber.
Uber gives men a chance to cheat on there girlfriends or wife's. I've had it happen to me and know other women it's happened to. The guy would say I'm doing uber but really he's going to meet another women. So be care other women out that you boyfriend or husband is really doing uber and not out cheating on you. I think uber is ruining lives and destroying relationships. I think uber should be a schedule hours and should be online so many hours before getting paid or something to ensure men won't cheat.
I stupidly hired Uber.
I was asked by the driver if I had gotten a vaccine, and when I got online to complain there was just preset options that didn't allow me to state my complaint in my own words.
One option was actually if the driver himself wearing a MASK, with no option to complain about ME, the customer being required to wear one of those filthy, disease spreading things at the risque of my own family getting sick from the coronavirus!
More over, what if I had got robbed or raped? How would I file a complaint besides hiring an expensive lawyer I can't afford?
Uber is a recipe for robbery and rape.

I was run off the road yesterday by a car with the Uber sign in the window. Make sure this guy isn't your ride Licenses number 7JXD538. It happened at Powell st. And 580 at 10:37 in the morning. He then even gave me the finger! The guy in the back seat looked quite nervous.
Now ive got you! Recently I was billed £27 for a £14 quote and you told me I agreed to the price surge even though I was sure I didn't! Tonight I booked a cab in Manchester with a £12-14 quote and he was 8 minutes away, when he was 2 minutes away the quite suddenly became subject to a x 1.7 surge price and had I not seen it and got in the cab I would have been charged accordingly! There is NO WAY this is legal altering a quote last minute as you did last time to tell me I was wrong! I have 2 witnesses before you dare argue! This is a con it will be posted on Facebook and I WILL be contacting trading standards! If a price surge is in effect it has to be applied at the time of booking not surreptitiously afterwards! Disgusting practice!
Stone cold fast food is on a parr with eating dog food and I don't feel humans should pay for the dilemma of cold food... either the courier or the provider of the food at fault and yet Uber will not compensate or refund patrons for cold food, so be warned given their service is a diabolical shambles and needs scraping in favour of a superior service.
I just completed my first Uber ride and it was great. The service was excellent and I ended up paying nothing for an airport ride that would normally charge me $50+. If you haven't done so, do try it out and you can get first one on Uber with promotion code jeffh3906ue
We ordered Uber XL for our party of five. A Toyota 4Runner was assigned. It did not have seating for five plus a driver. We had to cram four in the backseat. Several emails between Uber and myself resulted in a "too bad, it's what you ordered." So we paid premium rate for a service we did not get. Uber XL says parties of 1-6, but beware. You are responsible for knowing if the vehicle assigned will seat the number in your party.
There is no recourse say your in a city and get the address wrong,an Uber driver will leave you on the side of the highway, and you will have to call another Uber, rain or shine. That's been my experience twice. Traveling with Uber, there was a repeat of addresses in same city, but considering I know nothing about this, and I was taken to the place, upon realizing it not the place of destination. There was no recourse, I was let out at the side of the road to call another Uber. There was no recourse, and to me how safe can that be. Especially went Uber claims that they are safe
When I wanted to use Uber to check rates, I was forced to sign in (I've used them several times in the past). Then when they sent me texts to get signed in, the computer didn't recognize the password their computer had just texted me...so I couldn't access their computer to even estimate the rates. So I went to Lyft and had a great time. Ditch Uber. I don't know how they've maintained such a high rating. AND...Their rates change by the minute. I was at the airport needing a ride home. Their site told me it was a $54 charge for a $15 ride. Not acceptable. And no number to call to straighten it out.
I strongly encourage any Uber customer to take a screenshot of each part of your transaction as you order and ride. It may be a little tedious but I'm sick of arriving at my destination and seeing an upcharge on both the ride and the tip. If I type in that I want to authorize a tip of $10, I don't want to see $10.25 on my receipt. If Uber chooses to be greedy by giving the driver $9.75 and keeping the $0.25 for whatever reason, that's a choice Uber makes. Screenshot each part of your transaction.
They took $100 from me for a ride that was said to only cost $28. When I brought up this problem they only gave me $25 back, meaning that they unfairly took $47 away. I guess it's safe to say that I'm never using Uber again.
Tip for consumers:
Do not use they like to steal money from you.

Site says 24/7 service. Tried numerous times yesterday to get a ride for a death in the family. Kept getting No driver available. Thank goodness Lyft was available also at a cheaper price. At that time price was not an issue and Uber was not 24/7
Tip for consumers:
That Uber is not 24/7

When I saw an ad online for the soon to be Uber delivery service, I was intrigued enough to sign up. What I did not know is it would take TWO DAYS to sign up! I started at home taking pictures of the documents they wanted and sending them. Four hours later pulling in for coffee, the first text started for me to resend the pictures. Then hours later at my volunteer job, I was doing it again. Even when I got home, this continued into the night, with emails as well. Just how many times do you need to send the requested pictures until your account goes from pending to activated? It's not that I don't have patience, it's just multiple communication can become irritating and annoying. It took THREE DAYS (after angry communication from me to them to please STOP!) to find out it was multiple computer generated messages. Have patience if you want to try and sign up with Uber. And don't have a temper like I do!
Iam really disappointed with uber charges! For the last 2 months have been calling uber in different routes but unfortunately when I agree with charges uber declares for a journey in the end I get a higher charge of $3-$5 without any explanation! Only todays trip where I had limited funds on the account my charges had no issue! This is cheating!
My daughter used uber for the first time today. She was very happy with the lady that assisted her. Sweet as can be her name was Gail. I was initially worried about her using the service at first. Gail picked her up from a school activity and it was a pleasant experience fir my daughter.
