Unfortunately there is a zero star to rate this company. I was charged $110.00 for a "membership" that was never requested as I very rarely use this stupid service (it was used once since last year). After countless hours of messaging, as they do not dignify a mortal customer with a phone call in order to be as anonymous and detached as possible to keep on offering no customer service, I was informed that nice Uber would reimburse a whole amount of $30.00. What a scam! NEVER again will I deal with this "mafia" like so called company. Horrible!
I wont ever use uber again, they are very unprofessional and high who ever the hell they want. Just recently my friend used an uber to go to her boyfriends when she go in the uber her uber driver asked her if she wanted some water, she said yes. He grabbed some water from the front seat opening it for her. The next thing she knew he turned off the meter and told her it would be free of charge... the end of the night she was in the hospital getting a rape test done that came back positive... this uber driver date rape drugged her water and raped her. DONT USE UBER
Too much words are needed to explain about this big scam, whether you are a driver or a rider. I have experienced both sides. Uner is collecting your information and selling them and ripping off the driver and the rider both! Stay away from this evil at any cost!
My account has been deactivated for over a year now due to some background check issue. Had an issue with DMV but it's been sorted out but I still got deactivated. Their customer service will not even respond to my complaints so I had to leave for a while. Recently I came across a group of programmers named cyberianx on telegram and they helped me reactivate my account after I explained my situation to them. Anyone encountering this same issue should report the case to them. I can't thank them enough for their assistance.
I just signed up for Uber Eats as a delivery driver today and I got an email from Uber saying I was approved. So, just out of curiosity, I clicked on the link that the background check company sent me, and when I entered my info on their site they said that my background check wasn't going to be ready until Sept. 1st! Today is August 30th. So how could Uber approve me when the background check hasn't even come back yet? Doesn't sound the least bit bogus.
Tip for consumers:
Everyone be careful when using Uber. I am not so sure that their background check procedures are too rigorous.

Uber tempt you with a cheap fare when you request the ride only to find they charged you double to the same destination and no tolls. Also the driver cancelled the job and they still charged me. When I complained they said they refunded me but it's not true and never received any refund
I was waiting for an Uber ride for an appointment and the ride never came. Then it showed the Uber driver was 45 minutes away - which would make me miss appointment (which cost me $200.00). There is no direct phone number for an Uber customer to contact customer service. Very disappointed!
Never use this platform, run a mile, they are just thieves. They always charge you and never make compensation, I have never come across such a 'big' company with such terrible customer service.

I've drove Uber for several months last year. I haven't drove for them since I found a good paying job but as of now could use the extra money for holidays. I've been trying to log back into my active account but had no luck retrieving a varification code since I no longer have the same phone/number. I've tried numerous times to contact them about this but with no luck. Every message I send are returned saying I cant reply to that email. & when I go to the website for Uber help I stil get no results back.
It is unfair to hold people's money when some people are living by the dime. Do away with the authorization holds. Presently I have roughly $65 on hold because of Ubers authorization hold which I won't get back until 3 to 5 business days. That is a bad practice and it is a bad practice for any business.
My friend spent her 21st birthday clubbing and by the end of the night she was puking. Our Uber driver came to pick us up knowing we had a night of partying and a sick friend. On our drive home he stopped to let her puke. However she did puke on the outside and made a small mess in the car. After our trip I cleaned up everything inside it car as quick as I could. Then a week later we were charged with $150 for cleaning along with the charge of the trip for a very very minimal amount of puke on the seat belt and the outside of the car. We gladly would have paid 50 dollars for clean up however no matter what way we spun it definitely didnt cost 150 dollars to clean a car. He knew when he responded to our Uber need that we would be drunk. If he didnt want drunk people he did not need to respond. We will be sticking with lyft from now on.
Uber website needs improvements. Fare quote doesn't work and doesn't tell you what it will take to work (e.g. What type of info). I simply chose New Orleans and then said airport or MSY airport and Westin Hotel Canal street. It should be able to figure that out. When you clear results to try again, you can't edit the start location - you have to reload the page which takes you back to choosing a city. Found it completely in effective.
Another flaky thing is that I log in and it shows my account then I go to get a fare quote and it takes be back to search city and implies that I need to log in again. Hope they can fix these few simple things. Using IE 11. 0. 96
Well today I paid for an Uber ride, and as I am standing at the barbershop waiting, the Uber driver pulls. He pulled in at the bar in between 2 vehicles, and I was unable to see him. As I was standing outside side the barbershop, I received a message from Uber that my ride was canceled, and then I saw the Uber driver backing out and leaving. Then I see where they still charged me $5.50 after the ride was canceled. Uber is starting to get as bad as Lyft, and I quit using Lyft for these same reasons. Well it is time to find another way to get rides.
I have been using Uber for many years and usually give them a good review. Unfortunately, 2 of the last 3 rides were not pleasant experiences. My issue is that you can't find where you can communicate with Uber when a negative situation occurs. The last experience I had was that the driver (Ahmed) decided to not pick me up, two minutes upon arrival to do so. I had been waiting for 25 minutes and had to wait for another Uber driver. Consequently, I was 15 minutes late to my appointment. When I finally arrived with the 2nd Uber driver, I was not able to go back to the previous driver and let him know how upset I was.
It was a very frustrating experience..
Took Uber from home to BWI airport. Surprised when I saw a charge of $10 for booking fee. Have not paid this before despite having a minimum of 30 trips last year, and three this year. Uber has found a new way to price gouge their customers. The varying rates for trips to & from home & BWI Airport are staggering. They range from anywhere from $72 to $134. I live approximately 28 miles from the airport, which normally is a 40-min ride. Sometimes a taxi from BWI after 9 pm is $99, & Uber is $134. Guess which one I take. Drivers frequently complain as well at how little they get to keep in comparison to what Uber keeps. Keep it up Uber. There are numerous other ways to get to & from locales.
Website sucks- needs to updated. After wasting an entire day just trying to get my account "activated" by them, I was told my VISA Debit card was deemed no good! They claim I have a prepaid card. It is not a prepaid card. It is a VISA DEBIT card from my bank! I wouldn't use UBER even if they fixed all their flaws on the website now. They literally wasted an entire day of my life that I can't get back! I'll stick with the taxi service that has never let me down. Saving a few dollars isn't worth all the nonsense I just went through.
Hired uber to drive to Boston Garden for concert tonight. Driver shows up on time first time driver. Did not have a clue on how to get to Boston Garden. Could get another Uber but not on time. Ended up driving in ourselves. Will use a cab from now on. Can't rely on company that doesn't know what they are doing.
On 3/28/23 I ordered a round trip which cost a total of $47.97 to drop my grandchildren at school. The trip was accepted by driver LaWanda license plate 48DV947. My grandchild left her tablet she uses for school in LaWanda's vehicle. I have been trying to reach out to her through Uber help for five days and she refuses to respond which leads me to believe she has stolen the tablet. Uber does not have anything in place for drivers that keep items left behind by customers nor do they have anything in place that drivers refuse to respond after Uber reaches out to them. I will be using Lyft from now on because it's apparent Uber hires thieves. Uber you need to do better. I rated 1 star only because there is no place for 0

I have been a driver with Uber for 5 years. They owe me money and refuse to pay me. They are saying that I need to prove who I am. I have my phone with my phone number, access to my personal email, my drivers license, my bank cards and checks... none of this proves who I am. This morning they sent me to an office to speak with someone in person. I went to the designated office and they are closed and nobody is there and there is no number I can reach anyone at. I called the Uber phone number and the agent could not comprehend what I was saying and refused to give me to someone who could help.
I have driven for 5 years. I have had no bad incidents or anything for them to be treating me this way. I have wasted my last 6 hours with this company. No more.
Do not choose to use this company. They are a complete rip off and are driving away the good drivers.

I suggest you use another ride platform. There is something seriously wrong with this company.
I've had countless issues with uber drivers claiming false cancellations, claiming to have picked me up when they hadn't, etc. Tonight a guy picked me up and immediately started hinting that I lived too far away. Mid way through the ride he finally concluded that I did, in fact, live too far away (he just wasn't familiar with the New York area at ALL- NO, Brooklyn isn't in Manhattan). He kicked me out of the car in the middle of the night in a bad neighborhood and cancelled the ride. I had to walk with my three heavy bags all the way home because of other issues with false cancellations and uber. Lyft isn't much better but fewer terrible experiences for sure.
I decided to take Uber to the Airport instead of hiring a service the day before (savings $25). I know my rating with Uber is 5 stars (I asked every driver I'd ever ran into).
After waiting for 12' to arrive, the first Uber driver that accepted my request came to 3 blocks of my building and cancelled. The second one also cancelled after a few minutes and so did a third one. Now I was out of time so I called a Taxi cab company and hired a regular cab. No more Uber to the Aiport at LAX for me.
I read other postings and what happens seems to be that the driver do not make enough money and they also work for other services like Lift. They accept a fare and if before they pick you up a better fare appears on the other service, they cancel the pick up and there you are, back to square one.
Again, if it is important to be on time, no Uber for me..
Uber is a scam! They steal your money bit by bit. They seem to be con artist they engage you in conversation so you will like them and give them a good rating, when trip is at the destination it will continue to charge you - so if they drive off without completing the trip it's more money for them. More money. Scammers and con artist.
Lesson learned! I end up changing my email and shutting down my bank card. They were literally over charging me and taking it right out of my account. Then I wasn't able to talk to anyone. There is a reason they don't have a contact number.
Twice I have tried to set up an Uber account, most recently 2 days ago.
That took 2+ hours.
When I contacted uber for a ride, the user name and password were not recognized. Clicking the link to reset the password, it took Uber nearly 3 hours to respond and with no link to reset the password.
The company is undependable and not user friendly, especially if one will not use Facebook.
As of more than 12 hours later, there is still no link to reset the password.
Forget even trying to get a live body on the phone.
I have recently been using uber in Panama central America it has turned into a nightmare experience not only with drivers but also with Uber Support personal. One driver charged me 10 dollars for a fare that has been costing me only 3dollars I made a complaint and instead of supporting me they blocked me from something the driver said about me. He was not the person on the profile also and obviously just a friend of the taxi Uber Driver. I found the app malfunctioned so many times that it caused distress to me. The drivers were so rude that they never answered calls or texts. One taxi driver went to wrong place and did not respond to me I waited for an hour for an arrival but he never turned up. The Uber Support personal are also rude and don't listen to your complaint properly I was actually blocked from using uber because of a driver telling lies about me. I have never been treated so awfully by a taxi service in my entire life.
I was standing outside my hotel from 1:34 to 1:57 and this idiot didn't say anything that he was here, no text no call. Turned out he was hiding in the parking lot underneath the hotel but didn't say anything and I didn't bring my eyeglasses. He canceled, drove away and that's how I saw him. I asked why didn't you say you were here the whole time. He said he already canceled like WTF! I was on my feet for half and hour looking for his plate number in every car that passed by me. I have been made late to work twice because of this. The first time, my driver wouldn't take me to my destination because "he didn't have time". I was informed of this immediately after getting in his car. I asked him "Why would you accept the fare without checking where the passenger is going first?" He couldn't speak English well enough to answer me. Another time I had a driver refuse to get on the highway (highway takes 15 minutes for me to get to work, back roads takes 30,35) despite me repeatedly telling him he was going to make me late for work. He didn't just answer me and just kept pointing to the map on his phone. I've taken this same trip literally a couple hundred times, and this was the only time a driver did not take the highway. Uber is a customer service based job, maybe stop hiring people who can't communicate effectively.
