Uber is a great way to get around the city. They have a convenient app, fast cars, and polite drivers. Sometimes prices can be high during peak demand
Unfortunately there is a zero star to rate this company. I was charged $110.00 for a "membership" that was never requested as I very rarely use this stupid service (it was used once since last year). After countless hours of messaging, as they do not dignify a mortal customer with a phone call in order to be as anonymous and detached as possible to keep on offering no customer service, I was informed that nice Uber would reimburse a whole amount of $30.00. What a scam! NEVER again will I deal with this "mafia" like so called company. Horrible!
I am in Texas. This company illegally obtained my cc info and charged my bank account. Stopped em' cold. Sure, I shut down my card. Bank issued new one, credited my money back. Uber ain't getting $#*!. Anyone who uses this company anywhere without first reviewing them is an idiot and deserves what they get. Too many idiots being taken advantage of because, they LET it happen. Always review a company first. With as many negative reviews and, clearly, criminal actions made by this company, you're stupid to use them. Or, work for them! An app? You agreed to work for someone you never met? MORONS! Stupid is as stupid does.
Crappy company, should be zero stars, treating drivers poorly will get you no where, no wonder your turnover rates are 65 percent and climbing, sooner or later you won't have any drivers come pick up your customers, America needs to wake up smell coffee and learn that i bet is one big Fraud!
You have to be kidding! I was here waiting and the driver's car drove right past us! I am not paying for this cancellation. I literally chased this guy down there street and he said too bad and cancelled my ride. Then uber charged me $5?

This service is highly dependent on the time of day and who you get as a driver. Prices fluctuate tremendously so be careful. If prices are high, wait a few minutes and they might be lower. Ya just never know. I would say mostly better than a cab tho.
I used Uber for the first time while in Italy. Tried two times to find my drivers. They had my hotel name. I was waiting outside for them. One driver never showed up. The other was late. Said he was waiting for me down the street. I Cancelled. Uber then charges me 20 euros for two rides that never happened. It took a " act of congress" to get a refund. They don't have customer service phone support. Just email and a self help system that has pre- chosen choices for you to pick regarding your problem. Then It directs you to a AI type system which is no help. Until this multi million dollar company decides to invest in real phone support with a real C. S agent, I'll never use them.
We travel quite a bit and used Uber always. It was so easy, fast pick up, clean cars, nice drivers, roomy cars, some had amenities like hard candy, and courteous drivers. Right now three of us are crammed in a small car listening to the drivers personal conversation. We waited 10 minutes for him even though the app said three minutes away. Yesterday from the airport we were listening to the drivers music which was load and not appropriate for my son. It was loud and w asked her to shut if off but she just turned it down. Then I would crack my window and she kept shutting it. Is it NYC Uber or is it like this everywhere? One more try maybe but then back to yellow cabs.
I am a Uber Driver and made $850 on Halloween night. Even my self, happy as was thought this is crazy. Worst customer service for both the Drivers and Riders. I am planning to stop because besides Halloween night... not worth killing your car for pennies. Everyone, just beware.
Plenty of good taxi around.
I ordered an Uber from jersey city to midtown Manhattan. Not the first time ordering an Uber. Original payment said $52.5 and because the driver took a poor route it went upto $70. Upon complaining how bad the overall service was, driver refusing to take the shortest route, not picking up from the original pickup location, taking 60 mins longer to reach the destination than usual and more…. UBER writes we are sorry… really! Is that why we complaint to hear them apologize…. And they keep writing the same thing over and over again. Horrible services… no concern about the customers. Just here to mint money.
The app does not work correctly. After 4 tries I was able to enter my from address and destination. When I tried to order a car I kept getting error messages "Uber failed". Finally drove myself. Never again.
Driver failed to show for 3:30 am pick up on 12/21/2022. Uber charged ME a $29 cancellation fee. It cost me $300 in airport parking and I almost missed my holiday flight. I have parking receipt and can provide proof. Totally unreliable. BEWARE.
Tip for consumers:
Try using LYFT. I have found them more reliable.

They never provided a ride so I had to drive myself.
Uber support is useless. I lost an expensive medical device 5 days ago and they've been no help in trying to get it back. My driver will not respond to phone calls or email, claiming he "doesn't speak English". Apparently Uber hires drivers (in the US) who don't speak any English. They don't seem to care about their riders or the fact that their company is represented by rude, ignorant and unprofessional drivers.
I had as healed ride for work at 9:40 to be there at 10, because I did not want to just be sitting around because I can't clock in early. So at 9:20 it says my driver is 5 min away. That's gonna make me a whole 20 minutes early, where I have to either sit in the break room where there's no Wi-Fi connection and no data connection, or sit outside in the heat. When getting ahold of customer support and explained the situation all they wanted to offer was a 50¢ refund and cancel my ride. Not only was this sad as hell, but then I was unable to book another ride to work. And my card got charged twice, worst company ever!
While I understand all of the cab-hating, the one point I worry about is insurance with Uber et al. This article talks about major injuries people experienced. Do these new startups have the same level of insurance coverage as traditional cabs are required to have? What will happen when the news starts reporting catastrophic injuries passengers receive in an Uber subscribed vehicle, but having to be on Medicaid because there was no insurance in place?
I used Uber last year and loved the service. I again "attempted" to utilize Uber last night (Halloween) for my 16 yr old daughter. Guess what? She ended up stranded miles from home due to YOUR inept incompetence. Needless to say, our Uber days are over. We will be utilizing Lyft from this point forward. Choose your merchants wisely!
Uber charged me about a total of 30 dollars because their drivers could not find the Uber pick up lot at the ft lauderdale airport. One driver made it there and did not speak English. Two others went to departure lanes. I complained and got back 6,00. Several people have told me they have the same problems with Uber.
Worked well for me most of the time, but a couple times the driver took forever and looked like they got lost (watching the little map). During that time, I let several cabs go by. It's great when it works well, just wish it was more consistent.
Uber drivers are not held to the same standards as cab drivers. They often cancel your ride and the company will put the charge onto your credit card. I have been trying to get 2 of those charges off of my card now for months with no resolution, having sent at least 8 emails to numerous individuals. It seems like you can never connect with the same person to solve your problem and there is absolutely no way to make contact by phone. I also tried to get an Uber out of the country and the guy just never showed. Another driver had no idea how to get to the airport that was 15 minutes away and took a route that took over an hour and I was almost late for my flight. Be wary travelers!
Uber makes riders aware of high rates on Days with demands. It doesn't have flat rates like some taxis and most drivers know what they're doing. If a normal fare of $20 is suddenly $160, it's because of demand to use the service. Taxis gouge rates on New Years Eve and other major holidays too.
I will not use Uber again. When we left our concert on July 4, the only available rides were at 5 times the rate. There was no indication in the app window of what our total fare would be and I NEVER would have approved $111 dollars for a twenty minute ride. There needs to be more transparency in how fares are being shown before and during a trip. If you are booking a ride on this service, check the fine print and be sure you find out what the fare will be before you get in the car. Beware of ¨dynamic pricing¨ or ¨surge pricing. ¨ Nuff said, I will call a local cab from now on.
I was late for my work and appointment because driver's cancelled it for no reason, my place is easy to find so I wondered why they kept cancelling my trip. I had cancelled many times... it's not funny anymore " Uber". I am almost done with you "uber". This company Sucks! I've been nice to all your drivers even if sometimes some of the uber driver's stinks I was still polite towards him. Now I download Lyft and will try it. Thank-you Uber!
Tried Uber X as a Driver in Atlanta. Big major mistake. Passengers were verbally abusive. Pick up location was always wrong. When and after the passenger gives you direction to where they were going they turn around and complain to Uber and they get a great discount at my expense. A 25 buck fare can easily be lowered to 16 bucks and there is nothing you can do. Anything worst would be working for free. Never again. Live and learn.
UBER is big big FRAUD company. As a driver,,, please do not sign for uber. They trying to attract the people by offering cell phones, cars by collecting the monthly payments are three times of actual companies. If anyone has taken vehicle and phone thru uber... their life is going to end so soon.
No contact numbers, uber app mileage is different than actual distance.
No proper management.
My uber driver was on his phone, driving very slow, incompetent of following directions. It was almost as if he didn't care (he most likely doesn't care with these rules of habits) over all I'm never using this service again unless its on someone else's dime!
My daughters card was charged for over $70.00 dollars for a ride she never did or knew about. How does that happen. It put her overdrawn and was charged $35.00 by the bank for overdraft. I would caution about giving your card info to Uber. And when you call there is no number to report or correct these fraudulent charges. Only by email. Beware you have been warned.
I scheduled a ride to the airport and then guy who was supposed to pick me up did not call or notify me he was there. Instead he sent me a cancellation bill. I can't get a hold of an actual person. The help center just gave me a run around. The phone number doesn't take you to an actual person but on a website that leads back to the app. Uber isn't very accommodating in their support and as far has refunds go... no one got back to me regarding how it will work. This is NOT a good product! I don't even want to give it a rating.
Tip for consumers:
There is a risk if the driver does not inform you that they are there. Uber said something about a text being sent to you. I never got a text from Uber or the driver to let me know he was on the way or that he had arrived and there is NO way to get a hold of anyone so you can get a refund. Once the driver sends a cancellation fee there is no way to get refunded or have person to person contact to get the help you need. Uber lacks this accommodation.
