Took £370 of mine for a graphics card, a week later it hasn't even been dispatched but they won't cancel my order or give me my money back either. Thank God I paid with PayPal, fingers crossed I'll get my money back, at this rate they're going to go out of business.
Very disappointing service. Bought the wrong item by mistake (10 pounds) from central Edinburgh, then went to another store near my house (Leith) to return it and buy the correct one. They said that they cannot accept the original item back as I don't have the receipt (fair enough so far) and that if I go to the original store they will return my money. So I bought what I wanted from Leith (another 30 pounds), went to the original store, only to find out that they can only issue a voucher for the store! And when I contacted the complaints department they tried to prove that at both points of sale they informed me about their "policy", which never happened! Like I am crazy, and even though they explained to me the policy, i decided to go up and down in the city of edinburgh and start making complaints about it! Awful customer service, worst attitude I ve ever faced in the UK, especially from a retailer that size
It's more expensive to buy an old game or anything really from here and the steal money from trade ins. One time I took my camera to trade in and they gave me a really low offer, I didn't want to do it, but then I saw that they had broken the memory card slot, useless pricks. It's a terrible shop and should be boycotted to maybe bring a new better honest version of a trade in place. It used to be, but now it's just a way to take people's money and as much as possible
Rude, dismissive and couldn't give a toss about the customer. They clearly don't want to sell anything as Gloucester shop is always rammed with people trading in. That's fine but how hard is it to have a fast track till for those just wanting to make a quick purchase? Waited over 30 mins only to be snapped at by young man at till. Will never spend my money there again
Warranty not honoured on two separate purchases made by my two teenage sons. Who were stonewalled and bullied by staff at the shop - very poor behaviour.
I can't understand how they are still in business.
I ordered a handful of anime dvds using there online website. 1 out of 7 turned up in acceptable condition... A good majority had replacement cases with fake covers attached which looked like they had been printed on an early 2000's inkjet printer. Disc was authentic, everything else wasn't. One dvd turned up with the disc holder completely broken, disc rattling about inside, severely scratched the front cover plastered in sticker residue from many failed attempts to peel the previous price tags off ASWELL as the dvd cover being inside out for some reason?
I had an old iPad mini 32gb. Brand new condition fully boxed, only used for 2 hours over 5 years, mint condition, no issues. Took it to Cowley CEX to sell after getting offered £35.
Was busy so after coming back to store an hour later they reduced the offer by £5 to £30 having (quite obviously a store policy) deliberately scratched it on the side with a tiny scratch!. I was fuming but having driven there I sold it anyway. Should of walked away with it. Complained to some hopeless Wally at cust services and got into a pathetic loop of we don't damage goods to reduce our offer sir over and over, I told him to F off. Having used this company in Wycombe CEX for many years and hundreds of transactions, with this disgusting tactic to maximise profits, I will never enter a CEX again. Dire way to treat a loyal customer.
Bought a samsung galaxy 4watch £150 has a high battery drain 6/7 hours normal use, thought it was faulty, took back to wythenshawe cex who exhaustively tested it by leaving on a desk and pronouncing no fault found how unsurprising.
Normal stores give more than a 2 day return slot for possible faulty goods so I am presuming the 2day policy is supposed to be a get out of jail card for cex? Doesn't matter I'm not going back in cex again.
Terrible.
Item was sold as A grade. Perfect for gift.
It arrived. I got it out of the box and one if the buttons fell off straight away.
Cex reaction has been poor. I asked to return. They said they need to investigate with store before I can return. After raising PayPal dispute I had a reply asking me to send the item back. As 8ts over £100 value cex want me to pay for return insured postage. Then claim the postage back by cheque. I'm not convinced with their customer service and so don't trust them to send timely cheque. Plus, who uses cheques now?! I'd have to drive into town, park, get mask on, visit bank to pay it in. Ridiculous. I wouldn't buy anything from them again.
Order *******
When to the store to sell my PS4 after waiting ages for them to test it they came back saying the seal was broken and would not buy.after getting home we found that the outer box was missing the power lead. The controller lead missing.they give you nothing for your items £59 for a playstation 4 and the second hand games are more expensive then Amazon brand new.insulting people go somewhere else most of there stuff have faults
I used to like this store, I got most of my consoles and games from there.
But the quality of the items they're selling seems terrible now.
It's like they've given up properly assessing things when buying from people and just sell on any old $#*!e, no matter if it's working or not.
We've tried to buy two really expensive Xbox One controllers from them recently and we've been sent a knackered pad with bits missing and then a pad with a analogue stick fault.
These aren't hard things to spot, anyone with a brain and/or a functioning eye could see that there's problems with the pad, yet they're selling them on at £70 a piece?
It doesn't make any sense.
It sounds a bit like they just don't care any more.
Will hopefully be refunded in a few weeks time but we'll see.
I think I'll be avoiding them from now on. Hopefully a business that cares about customers will soon take their place.
Stay away from this company. I have tried to buy a camera, after entering my cards detail the payment was declined, and they suggest to use a different payment method. Before using another card, I have checked my bank statement and I found a PAYMENT taken from Cex.
I have tried to contact them through their horrible website, but after 2,5 days I haven't heard anything back. The payment is still on my bank statement without any order made. I think I am going to lose 180£!
Ive sent two consignments to CEX both delivered on 21st April, its now 27th May and no change in the order status. It still read 'they're awaiting my goods'. I have twice emailed them and received generic unhelpful responses. I can't find a complaints phone number. I'm stuck with £550 of goods missing and I can't find out what's happening. I, like everyone else am fully aware of the current situation, however even today they're still accepting goods to buy from you. In their 'help' section it still states your money will be with you in a week!
I ordered 10 DVD movies from the CEX website last month. 2 DVDs were completely incorrect. 1 DVD had a cover that had been unevenly cut at the sides with scissors. 1 DVD was scratched and wouldn't play. 1 DVD was not sent at all because CEX had (illegally) photocopied its cover and would only sell it in store even though it was listed for sale online.
Their customer service is virtually non-existent. They have no phone number that connects to anything besides a recording directing you to their website. You can send them a message and you might get a robotic reply a few days later.
A company this bad does not deserve to exist.
So I went pick up my surface pro 5 from Bromley branch. There are numerous scratches! (some scratch are 10cm long and deep) near the volume rocker is chipped, the touch screen isn't even working properly, there's dead zone on the screen where the touch doesn't work. The camera is partially covered by wire, speaker mesh is frayed/damaged, there's glue on the edge of the screen and there's some unknown dirt on the fold which looks like weed. They didn't just not fix my screen but managed to damage it even more, I am really disappointed and angry with the service!
Sent me the wrong game, refused to offer any means of replacement and then said that in order to get a full refund, I have to send back their wrong game(which is sold by them at £1)
It should be their job to fix this, not mine to send back their £1 wrong order, await a refund and then order again.
Well, we bought a Samsung galaxy fold 3, it came without the protective inside screen cover and had a small damaged area on the fold
They insisted 'we' had removed the cover and refused the return. Pretty disgraceful really and will not use again.
The store we took it to said it should never have been sold in the first place as there was a damaged area near the fold, so it will probably fail at some point
They agreed price. Said phone was B grade. No problem. To then after check say the mute button was faulty. Put a sim from my work phone in it at counter & called it. Hey guess what it works fine. Mute on off multiple times no issue. Took to another store to be given same price to then after test be told the jack plug was intermittent? Not the mute button then? Reply no just the jack plug. So again I got out a sealed pair of unused earbuds from box & plugged in. No surprise that the system worked fine. Staff not happy to be told they had been filmed throughout from top pocket with own phone & that two stores had different imagery faults with the same phone. Total scam stay away from these awful crooks.
Bought 5 expensive games on line at cex costing £487
I receive the games in a thin jiffy bag.
Cases were smashed. Games were loose in the bag. Missing manuals.
If a cex say a game is boxed then you expect it to be complete.
So I take them back to my local cex. There I show them how I receive these items show them the bag. They then blame me for the damaged cases saying I was trying to pull a fast one. What a joke I will never by from cex again.
They have just lost a serious customer.
My partner purchased a phone for me from CEX with a 2 year guarantee. 3 months later the front was coming away from the main baby. I took it back and was told it would be sent of for repair. I was told 7 days, 3 weeks later and still waiting I was told they were waiting for a part. Then after 1 month I was returned my phone being told they were not repairing it as it was water damaged! My phone hasn't even been I my steamy bathroom. The guarantee means nothing, they tell a load of gob $#*!e when they can't repair a phone or maybe it was too e pensive to repair, DONT buy phones from here, your chancing your luck,
Answer: Go to resolver.co.uk and make a complaint against CeX, they will take it more seriously
Answer: B grade should mean operational but will have visible signs of use, I would avoid and buy on ebay probably get a nearly new one that hasn't been through the hands of muppits
Answer: Unlocked simply tells you whether or not a product is open to all networks or locked to a specific one. For example, if a product states EE/Virgin/3 then it will be locked to that specific network, if however it says unlocked or any network you are able to put any service provider into that product. The A and B seen in the product description is a way pf grading the phone and stating what condition it is considered to be in. A grade is the best grade possible for a phone/table/laptop/camera. This means that it should be immaculate and have all of its original accessories. B grade is considered used and may have some general wear and tear marks, which will not affect the usage pf the product. It may not have its original accessories but will come with anything that is required to allow use the product properly.
