I was online adding to my cart when my app glitches. I noticed my shopping cart had suddenly been cleared. So I closed app and opened thinking it would reset. Nope. So I added items back into my cart. Then I purchased. I receive 2 emails saying 2 orders were placed. Both were duplicate. So, immediately I texted customer service (within 5 min) to have them cancel 1st order. I explained my situation and was told by 6 different people they couldn't cancel my order. All of them assured me they could help, wasted my time just to tell me their bs system wouldn't allow them to cancel my order that hasn't been shipped. I have been a customer for years and they just lost one due to bs policies and incompetent agents.

I visited the store in February 2017. I don't know ULTA hires so mane people and there is never someone available to try on your foundation. I am sorry but I am not purchasing and choose it myself. So there are 2 problems, the employees never offer assistance and when you start trying on make up, they look at your funny as if you are going to steal something. The thing that bothered me the most was that when I was ready to pay, the cashier didn't ask me if I found everything okay if someone assisted me. Her first question was, can I have your phone #, so asked her that why did she need my #, the cashiers response was that she needed to look me up in the system. So I told her that I wasn't in the system and that I just wanted to pay for my foundation. So she insisted again that she needed my phone #. So just to let it go nd to get out of there, I have her my #. She then asked for me Emial address and my name and address. At that point I was mad and annoyed. Customers should be agitated to give their personal information in order to purchase at a store. If you have sales goals, it doest mean that you need to push the customers, in the other hand, it was make customer no want to come back.

Worst customer service ever. I am a diamond member and an Ulta credit card holder. I as recently sent a new Ulta card because if a tier upgrade. I activated the card and went to make a purchase for an item during their beauty sale event. It was an online only item. I got to use my card which had already activated days before and it says this card is unauthorized to be used. I call Ulta guest service and they say to wait and try again later it probably saved your old credit card information. I also called Commentity who is in charge of the Ulta credit card. They say all the info is correct and it is the Ulta site problem. We then try making the purchase as a member and as a guest both times the card hows as unauthorized. The item I have been wanting is now out of stock. I have been contacting Ulta since Monday I keep being told we are sorry for the inconvenience we dont offer rain checks. I tell them that isnt my question. Ejy cant I use the ulta credit card on the ulta site. I tried it at Amazon and th card went through. They stop responding. I was told upper management woul reply to me and it has been 3 days and nothing. No appeasements and no answers. They keep saying it isn't their fault. Well if he credit card company says the card is good and it works at everywhere else except your site then who's fault is?

So I ordered some conditioners and shampoos that they had a sale on only online so I really don't like ordering things online but the products we're obviously cheaper. So I order online they tell me that my shipment won't be here until the following Wednesday didn't mind it. So the order came in this Wednesday I was happy went to go check for the order that they ship through LaserShip and they said that my package was delivered and it wasn't so I emailed LaserShip and they told me to get in contact with the seller which is Ulta. So I did get in contact with Ulta. They're going to tell me it might not be delivered it might still be in transit so I proceeded to ask why would they put delivered if it's not delivered I never heard of that before I order off Amazon and other sites sometimes and when they put delivered it means it's delivered so she proceeds to tell me that I have to wait one more day to see if they're going to deliver the package I have never heard of that before. I guess I'll just wait until tomorrow. I wish they would get another company to deliver their items because the best sales are online but until they fix this problem I think I won't order from Ulta online anymore I'll just have to wait for in-store sales.

I went in knowing what I was looking for so I grabbed what I wanted and went to the register to check out. The woman helping me did not say good morning or ask how I was doing, she looked miserable. I didn't say a word I just handed all my stuff over she asked if I had a rewards card so I handed my phone over with the card up on the screen I told her I had a coupon and i wanted to use my points because I had a fairly large order. She rang everything up and the total was off I told her the one item was on sale, she asked where I saw the sign so we walked over then she rudely said that I grabbed the wrong palette, I apologized and asked where the correct one was and she looked even more annoyed; she looked around and couldn't find it (because they didn't put them out) one of the other girls went into the back to grab one and brought it up. We went back to finish the transaction and she didn't use the coupon or then rewards points. She was very rude and unprofessional. I've never had a bad experience at Ulta and this completely put me off. You shouldn't get mad at a customer because your staff didn't stock the displays properly. I've worked in many customer service positions for many years and if any of my managers or higher ups would have seen me treat a customer that way I wouldn't have a job. You are a high end cosmetic retailer please have your staff act accordingly. I don't enjoy spending hundreds of my hard earned money to be treated so horribly. If I wanted to be treated badly I would've gone to Sephora

The review for Troy Ulta Beauty Store & Salon | Ulta Troy, MI (560 John R Rd, Troy, MI *******); And they block consumers reviewing them on google on their review website.
The staff, especially the black Daisy, treat immigrants horrible. Horrible place!
I returned a Clinique product because I found out that the sun-protective chemicals harms pregnancy (I didn't open the box). First, Daisy said we needed to talk to their manager, a white female (I first time needed to see a manager for returning products for 9 years in US). And they tried to force me to exchange to other products. I rejected and told myself never going there anymore.
They also tried to scam and did not really return my money to my credit card first time. 2 weeks later, I went back the store with my receipt. The black Daisy served me too. She pretended she didn't recognize me and said that it must exchange, not return (a "exchange" word at very bottom line of the receive, but the return wrote right on the middle---people must care about when you return there). Do you believe that she didn't recognize me with so much problem during the return, do not mention pregnancy reason return and II am an Asian rarely in the store?! She rejected to re-return my money until I got angry, so she knew I did not fear her because I am immigrant. If I did not keep the receipt, they would scam me successfully!
I went there first time because my Chinese friends wanted me to buy some beauty care products of famous brands (too many fake products in China). I took pictures of their products and prices and sent of my friends. They said they were too expensive comparing other places they knew. I asked if I could have their ads without buying anything. They said no (tried to seduce me to buy their products), but I did it from Ulta website without buy anything.
They treat immigrants horribly. Don't go there if you are immigrant. They will scam you because they know that you do not know American culture and laws well.

Ilya beauty is really a nice store, BUT! The salon is So Overpriced, my God! The stylist aren't very experienced, especially if you are African American. The young lady that did my hair was so very nice, but she knew nothing about black hair or how to roll very well. I mean you can the same products and service at JC Penney or Regis or even Smart Style. But I thought I would check them out and I truly regret it. They charged me $61 for a wash and set I could've went to Penney 's Salon and got the same service for $30 or maybe less and it would've looked better than what I got at Ulta Beauty Salon. The lady didn't not only know how to roll she didn't leave me under the dryer long enough it wasn't a good experience for me or my hair I had to redo my hair after I got home to make it look more presentable to go to church. WARNING: Do Not go there if you are African American, I repeat they not experienced with our type of hair. I paid the $61 but the service I got wasn't Worth It. But one thing for sure I will never go back for my hair.

About 3 years ago I purchased a flat Iron on line and it did not work. I took it into my local ulta to do a return and the rude beauty consultant couldn't figure out how to do a return so I suggest she ask someone I waited for over 15 minutes at the front to have a manager come out just so she could give me a hard time saying they do not except online returns which is a totally lie Yes they do so she refused to take my return so I contacted Ulta's customer service and explained my situation and how rude they were that they would not take back the return and they told me to mail it back or drive to another ulta to return. I thought seriously!? So I contacted my bank and told them my situation and they credited my account Next thing I knew when I went to order off of ulta again the company blocked me and sent me a letter saying I was no longer allowed to order or do a pick up order from their website because I contacted my bank for a refund. Apparently Ulta at that point lost a Loyal customer I will take all my business to their competier going forward.

Tip for consumers:
Stay away from this company

Their coupons are a joke, too many exclusions unlike Sephora's coupons. I will never shop here again!

I placed my order last Tuesday and I was told it would take 2-3 business days for it to be shipped off and it hasn't even been shipped off yet, I definitely know to never order from Ulta again.

Ulta.com has customer service tactics that companies usually start using right before they announce store closings and bankruptcies. Anytime a business keeps a customer's money without sending goods, there is a problem.

I ordered $100 worth of products recently. After about a week, I checked the status on my account and there was a message that said UPS had transferred the package to USPS. I decided to wait a little longer before calling.

I finally filed an inquiry about the order through the site and called their customer service number. The customer service rep told me that she knew where my products were and that she was having them returned to the warehouse.

I asked her why she didn't have the package sent to me since a) I ordered the products and b) I still wanted them. She told me there was nothing she could do and their policy states that it could take up to 30 days for me to receive a refund. I really wanted the products and would have reordered them right away if they had returned my money.

After waiting 2 more weeks (almost a month after I placed the order), I disputed the charge with my bank. On the same day the bank was issuing the refund, Ulta magically emailed me to inform me that they were processing my return (that I didn't request).

When I mentioned this to a couple of co-workers, one of them had a very similar experience recently. They kept her money for 6 1/2 weeks with no product and told her there was nothing they could do.

I buy everything except for fresh produce online and run an online store. I'm very familiar with shipping, returns, refunds, policies, etc. and keeping the customer's money until a dispute is filed with the bank is really sketchy. It also doesn't take 30 days to return somebody's money unless it's intentional.

It's best to avoid Ulta online and either buy in-store or order from Sephora.com instead. Sephora treats their customers much better and I highly doubt they would keep customer money for over a month without sending any goods.

They lure you in with discoubts but mostly they inflated the prices already. Buyers beware. I can spend my fortune in this place if not careful.

I'm done wasting my time trying to find the products I need at Ulta. I can go to Macy's or Sephora and the products are always in stock!

Horrible company! Customer service manager is a waste of time in resolution of complaint.
Placed an order during Black Friday Sale, used PayPal at checkout. Checked my credit card after transaction and found two debits for the single transaction, it was the weekend so waited till Monday to see if one of the duplicate charges would drop off, both were gone by Tuesday.
I didn't worry about it from there as PayPal had said they will debit the account on order completion.
Ulta Cosmetics canceled the order and didn't have the common courtesy to contact/email me that they wouldn't be honoring my order because I used PayPal, said they couldn't verify my credit card information, but wait, isn't that why I use PayPal to protect my accounts!?
Furthermore, because they didn't let me know of the cancelation, I wasn't able to shop from competitors during the Black Friday extended sales nor during the Cyber Week sales either.
All I received from Customer Service was excuses and worse, they responded with two different stories about how they ran out of product and it was canceled due to that even though you can't place an item in the cart if out of stock, secondly after I asked for a supervisor, she was the one who said it was because of using PayPal. At that point I asked for the order to be fulfilled and of course she said no.
I am just one unsatisfied customer and Ulta Cosmetics apparently does not value you as a singular purchaser.

If I could give this company 0 stars I would! I have been a loyal customer for years and I'm shocked how they handled my situation. I placed a very large order roughly around $130 online. When I submitted payment I instantly realized that it was being shipped to my old address in California where I no longer live. I called customer service within 1 minute, sat on hold for 28 minutes to make sure I correct the shipping address to match my current billing address. The guy on the phone assured me that it will be corrected because I called within a 2 hour window. Later that night I received an email stating that they have already processed my order and it will be shipped to California vs Texas where I now live. I called them instantly explaining my situation that I don't live in California anymore and all they said to me was that I need to update my address book online. Seriously?! Backstory- 2 weeks earlier I placed over $250 in purchases online for my favorite things party gifts and that was shipped to my correct address. I then had to email them because clearly the guy on the phone that was helping me was reading off a script like a robot and couldn't understand what I was saying to him.
After I emailed Ulta I received no email back. I had to email them 3 more times explaining that my package is going to the wrong house and that my products are going to be stolen. They didn't care. All they replied was that I should have updated my address book.
So because they refused to help me I tracked down the buyer of my home in California and asked her if she got my box from Ulta. Of course she said she didn't receive it. When I explained that the tracking on it said that it was received she then replied with let me look around my house. I told her if it wasn't found to let me know because I have to file a police report that it was stolen and what do you know she found my open box at her house. Not shocked at all! Thief!
She told me that she sent it back to Ulta by post office two weeks ago. I'm still waiting for my refund or anything to be done with my case. Clearly I'm out money but Ulta lost one hell of a loyal customer! I'll be purchasing everything I need from Nordstrom from this point on.

If I could give no stars I would! I have never been treated so poorly in a retail establishment as I was by Ashley Ohara, manager of the New Hartford, NY Ulta. She was extremely rude to me. I went in to that location yesterday with my young children to buy a few things. I purchased them, went to my car, and realized that I had forgotten to use my 20% off coupon. I went back into the store and nicely asked if it was possible to apply it to my order. The employee was unsure and asked the manager Ashley who was standing there on her phone, if I could. With the most disgusting look on her face, Ashley proceeded to say extremely rudely that I needed to get the items if I wanted a discount and that they were closing in ten minutes, acting like my request was the biggest inconvenience. The four other employees were standing with shocked looks on their faces because she was so rude to me, so I went back to my car to grab the items with my two young children even though she clearly could have applied the 20% off to my receipt without making me carry my my children back to the car. After I returned to the store, a very sweet employee helped me and applied the 20 percent off to my order. This employee and the three other employees apologized on behalf of their manager Ashley and said they had never seen anyone be treated like that in the store. I asked to speak to the manager Ashley and she came to the front. I asked her why she thought it was okay to treat me like that, and she said she had no idea what I was talking about in the rudest tone. I will never go to that Ulta again. I'm shocked that Ulta would allow a manager like her to be there and treat consumers so poorly.

I contacted customer service via live chat - they said some odd things ("sorry for your issue" etc) before I even asked my very generic question; I wasn't having an issue yet. Then they had me verify my identity, again, before answering a generic question. Which I never got answered. But they did continue to read into why I was asking the question about a gift with purchase and explain to me I never added the gift on, and they saw no mention of it even on the site- when I assured them I did add it on, they told me it was out of stock (interesting, because they couldn't find it moments earlier.). No help, and a confusing conversation, 15 + mins I'll never get back.

I email in to tell Ulta about this poor experience. I get an equally dumb email, asking the same questions I'd already answered, etc.
When I respond, telling them THIS is why I'll no longer be shopping here - I get a SLIGHTLY more real/human response, finally telling me they've looked for my gift with purchase and basically it didn't exist. HA!
I send them a screenshot showing it still listed on their site. And that I met the requirements.
They responded telling me that its out of stock - (funny, last email said it didnt exist) to check back on their gift with purchase page and make a new order and that I may be lucky enough to get a gift with purchase then! The audacity.

At this point, its not about the gift with purchase (who cares about it!), but about the fact that they couldn't answer a question without being defensive, and then basically called me a liar, and could never actually HELP me or answer me with a real answer. Sephora is so much better anyway.

I am very upset. There is a stylist by the name Shameka that was highly recommended for hair extensions. This is my first time visiting Ulta and I was excited about getting my hair done by her. When I walked in I was greeted by a young lady named Melissa and she was very pleasant, she greeted me and asked if I would like to book a service, I told her yes and who I was there to see, while talking to her a male stylist who later I was told was the Salon Manager came over and asked can he help me during my conversation with Melissa, so I told him I was looking to get hair extensions and he said in a very rude manner,'We don't offer those services here!" and walked away. Melissa apologized and said I will look to see when Shameka is coming in and I will book a consultation for you with her and she will be in Monday please give her a call. I was very offended by the response from the manager and would like answers! I called my friend who recommended Shameka and she had a similar experience and isn't happy about it. She said she was told the same thing. I have seen extensions done before at this location plenty of times and I would like answers especially because I have seen women with different texture hair get there extension there at that location of a different race, I want answers I feel like its discrimination and racist. Is it ok for one race to get there form of extensions but not another, I will never walk into Ulta again and its sad because Shameka is a wonderful stylist I have seen her work and wanted to be service but I didn't know The Salon at Ulta only choose to service a certain race, ethnicity, or hair type in the Bronx.

On Oct 16th couldn't find a single employee in store at 1:15pm. Finally was able to make apt for perm. Big mistake I paid $117 + $15 tip for a disaster. Went back on 11-7 to show them what I got on Oct 20th. Girl made cl and gave me a bus card for Alicia Tate Genl Mgr and said she wld cont me as she was off that day. Also showed her the t-shirt I wore that day that is stained brown around neck and I can't get it out and my hair is darker & when I questioned hair dresser she went and got a bottle of shampoo for white hair and said I need to buy and use. So I bought it and it has not totally restored my orig color. Also she insisted I wash my hair in 4 days never heard that bef always told 1 week. I said this to her and I have been getting perms for a long time as I am 83 yrs old. But she insisted and kept saying 4 days and tried to make an appt for a haircut. She did nothing that I asked and my hair is all lengths and the only way I can describe it is awful. I am embarrassed to even let anyone see it. So that is it for me and I go to 3 diff sr centers and they can't believe how bad the haircut and perm are. I worked part time at Ultra 3 in late 90's aft retireing. Was a great store than but todays store cant hold a candle for service or anything to the old Ultra 3. Its no wonder you rarely see anyone shopping at your stores and you certainly don't have employees that give a hoot. I wonder how long your stores will last?! Thanks for letting me tell it like it is. MAH P.S. still waiting for Store Mgr Alicia Tate to call! Actually no need now I don't care and don't plan to return.

I wanted to simply cancel my order, because honestly when you don't give options for shipping and after I submit my order tell me that it will take 4-10 days AFTER my order process anywhere from 1-3 days I just couldn't wait. I didn't realize and it was my mistake so I made the phone call to customer service to cancel. The photos you see is how long I waited for someone to finally answer, I tried to get a photo of the time we hung up which was at 1 hr and 7mins. In that 5 minutes I got of their precious time I was told that if I wanted to cancel they would submit a request(mind you they haven't even emailed me to tell me my order is shipped yet), and they would "choose" to cancel my order or not? If I say cancel, CANCEL. I asked her if they choose not to cancel I have to send it back and pay for shipping? She says yes. I asked if I could take it all back to the store for a full refund, she said yes(I'm really hoping is true but not sure). So, I politely get off the phone with her, with just her word that a request was put in (no confirmation #, but she said I would receive and email. Never did) BUT I did get an email saying my order is shipped now(a day after I tried to cancel) So I have to wait until around the 25th to receive and take back the $#*! I told you I didn't want!

I'm officially done with Ulta, your customer service sucks! I waited patiently with customer service, I should have received a cancelation on the spot. Because I was misinformed when it came to ordering (not giving any shipping information until AFTER you submit the order) or else I would have moved on from the start! I put a cancelation request in with you roughly 20 hours before you sent me an email saying you shipped my order. Which I feel that was plenty of time to stop it. If it were an hour or so before I would be more understanding, but I emailed you right away never received a response, called the next morning to put a request in, than a day later you respond "yay we shipped your order"!

I'm really not impressed by my first online shopping experience/customer service, clearly. And that alone makes me not want to support your stores any further.

The courier service said they showed proof of delivery for an item i never received. I spent $700 for a product I don't have. I am being punished by Ulta and the horrible courier service (which is not even a reputable company, all you have to do is stop being lazy and do your research and you will see this is a common theme with them). I don't understand why Ulta would ship a $700 package through an unknown source it should have been FedEx or UPS. I am now having Ulta and that courier service investigated which started yesterday. Your company has made me the criminal when I have done absolutely nothing wrong, within an hour after the delivery (I was at work 40mins away, and didn't get off until 6pm and make it home until nearly 7pm), I had my friend go down to my door within an hour of "delivery" and she said nothing was there! So how in the world did my package disappear? It was placed at my frontdoor, And why wasn't it placed in the mailroom in the locker so that I could get a code to retrieve it, the courier service was lazy and actually never came to my property! Ulta says the courier has proof of delivery but has refused to show this proof and a picture of the delivery. On top of that, the person delivering for the company is independent, which means they're hired by them to drop packages off and if they marked delivered, they are paid around $2 to $3 per delivered item. So where is my package Ulta? Do you truly think that everyone is a liar and that there are no honest people? $700 for an item I don't have but now have paid for. You should have never used LSO (Lonestar Overnight Shipping). On top of that I called them 3 times and was on hold for nearly an hour each time and no one ever picked up, I left my name for a callback and they never tried to reach me. This is a shady company and cannot believe a reputable company like Ulta is okay with this service.

Tip for consumers:
Be wary of who is shipping because they'll steal it and not deliver and Ulta sides with the courier no matter how honest and truthful you are.

My very first time ordering from this company was online, due to COVID. I ordered on 11/12. I hot a confirmation email 2 days later that it had shipped. Almost a month later I still hadn't received my shipment and checked the status with UPS, which showed it was still waiting for carrier pick up. I called in to see the status and was told it was still on their dock and it was getting escalated to tier 2 and someone would call me within 24 hours (this was on a Sunday) I asked why it couldn't be handled now and he said that it was over $100 so he couldn't help me, that a supervisor would have to. 3 days later nobody had called me back, so I called back in. Only to be told that it was being reviewed. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold for 20 min, before being hung up on. I called back in and demanded to speak to a manager about my order immediately. After holding for another 20 min, I was offered a "reshipment" or a refund. I took the reshipment since it's a Christmas gift for my daughter. Then I was informed that some items on my order are no longer in stock! She offered me comparable, smaller items for the same price. I just wanted it to be over so I said fine. She told me that I'd have to submit another order for the replacement item, that she couldn't do that. WTF!? Fuming by this point. So the status on my reshipment? Same thing. Got an email stating it shipped and expected delivery date was dec 12th... but it shows on ups that it's waiting carrier pick up. I spent over $300 on the only thing my daughter asked for for Christmas and now I have no gift for her and I'm out $300. BUYER BE WARE!
