My son religiously pops a bubble each day when he returns home from work. Without your bubble calendar, I would have to fashion one up myself, at great frustration. So Uncommon Goods offers us a compact, fun-filled activity certain to make any household function better. Just wish the price were less!
So I used to buy from this site - used to. Last order, the snuck in a "perks" membership. By the time I see my credit card bill to pay - it's past the 30 days to cancel. This is just fraud. Memberships should be a proactive choice, not a sneaky charge. I'm done with this company.
I order 3 items on March 17. I was trying to buy a gift for a friend's birthday on April 2 and the checkout said the order would arrive by March 31. So today, March 31, I look for the order. Nothing. I contact the site, and they say "oh one of the items is backordered so we aren't shipping the order until April 20." Never mind what the check out told me or the fact that they charged by credit card on March 17. They never even sent me an email to tell me what was going on. I would never shop at this dishonest, incompetent site.
This website is not producing anything. It's like a portal for third-party sellers to sell their custom goods. Like an Etsy. And therefore they have no accountability, nor they can provide information about your order status correctly. Their delivery shipping estimates vary. I ordered an item in December that was supposed to be finished and shipped by mid-January. Beginning of February I started questioning what was with the order as there were literally no updates. They responded that the estimated delivery changed now to the end of February. TWO months since the order, without any progress. The next day, suddenly they prompted the seller to create a shipping label so they can say the item was just shipped. But that's a fake tactic, as the item has never left the warehouse so it was in fact not shipped.
They refuse to accept any cancellations or refunds due to the "custom nature" of the products even though the products were clearly not manufactured yet. I will never order from such an untrustworthy platform again. The sellers can only operate because they don't have any oversight and policies like they would have with amazon, etsy or ebay. Customer service representatives cannot provide accurate information with estimates at least in weeks and are lying about the state of orders.
Tip for consumers:
Avoid the site, if you don;t have months for your item to maybe show up one day.

This Company knew damn well the demand they would have for Christmas. I ordered December 1st with shipping no later than 18th, nothing the 18th so i checked status it said it was in NJ since the 9th. Nobody bothered to email or call to say the package was lost or delayed. I emailed, they told me guaranteed by December 24th. Today is Xmas day and I had nothing to give to my children thanks to their lack of response. I requested a refund and they have the audacity to tell me I can get it re shipped for MAY 2021! Or a refund but someone will contact me. I lost my S. Refund me right now you are stealing money I will report you!

Had the EXACT same thing as many of these people have noted. I ordered my Mom's Christmas gift on 12/16 - for a delivery no later than 12/24 (per their website). If I hadn't called today (the day before Christmas), I wouldn't even have known it wasn't going to arrive. They didn't email me to notify that it didn't ship the day it was supposed to (12/18). If they had, I could have done something for my Mom. (I live in Colorado and can't just pop over with another gift.) But now it's too late. They said the artist didn't ship it - and the artist didn't tell them. Well, I bought from UncommonGoods and expect UG to fulfill their commitments. They offered free shipping when I called - but what good does that do when they can't even confirm when it will ship -- other than 'sometime after Christmas'. Never mind - I cancelled my order and will not order from Uncommon Goods again. They don't stand behind their promises.

Uncommongoods has some great and unique gifts, but they have one huge problem: customer service. I had some questions about my order date and I called and emailed multiple times to get the information. I was told my order would arrive before Christmas, but later, in an email, I was told that my order would be later than Christmas. It seems like there is no commuication there, even though I provided my order number with every call and email. Several times when I called, the representative told me that they did not have the information I was looking for, but that they would have someone get back to me the next day. Not once did someone ever get back to me the next day and I always had to call again to follow up. The customer service aspect was very very frustrating.
So, go ahead and order if you don't have a time contraint and if you think you will have no questions about your order. But good luck if you have to deal with the hell of their customer service department!

I've bought a number of ridiculous items from this website for babies of friends. One of those items included the peepee teepee (http://www.uncommongoods.com/item/item.jsp?itemId=*******; I have yet to find out if it really works). A lot of the products for babies are organic, colorful and/or old school (no flashing lights or buttons to push), and I just love sorting through that kind of stuff. I had absolutely no problems with the purchases, and my friends loved the goods.

As I have just recently discovered the Uncommon Goods site, I have put several things in my cart in an attempt to decide which one I want to get as a gift for someone. I also became a member(free version)and have opted in to receive texts from them. Moments ago I received what just might be one of the absolute coolest things I have ever seen a company do.
There are so many people in this world who either had horrible parents, a horrible mother or a horrible father as well as people who never really had parents and those that have lost them. However, it is that time of year when mother's Day and Father's Day rolls around yet again. In the text that I received from them, I was given the option to opt out of receiving any promotional messaging relating to mother's Day and I am almost positive I will receive a similar one for Father's Day.
Well I personally have wonderful parents. I completely understand the desire to not have to look at something such as a promotional text message involving parents as a whole. It is such a forward way of thinking which should be commonplace actually, but it is extremely impressive and that company has definitely earned my loyalty just from that.
I ordered a custom item for my father-in-law's birthday and the wrong item was sent. I've emailed, called, and have spoken to several CS agents, and while they are apologetic, I'm not getting anywhere. The only answer I get is that they have reached out to the vendor/artist and are not getting a response. I would think Uncommon Goods would offer a refund or resolution but no, they keep passing the buck off to the vendor. I was really looking forward to using this company, as I have many long-distance relatives that I order and mail gifts to but I will not order from them again. Buyer beware.

Update 11/2/22: Well, they finally made it right after I had written a few bad reviews, along with several phone calls and emails to the company. So the bottom line is, if you don't mind fighting with a company to get your order right... you'll be fine. However, if you value customer service and appreciate when a company values you as a customer then I would find another place to order from. I personally will not ever order from this company again nor can I recommend it to anyone.

I have ordered from uncommon goods and havoc had an absolute nightmare. They stated that the order would be delivered on the 27th of November. By the 29th we tried to contact them to find out why was going on. Their autonomy system was blatantly false, ineffectual and not intended to solve any issues. After an inexplicable number of autonomy responses we finally got hold of a US customer service number. I wish we hadn't. They told us we had received the order. I don't have a US accent so the customer service assumed that I couldn't understand what receiving an order was. I am just waiting for the hoods I paid for. Still nothing. Please don't ever use these people as it is a scam

When I needed an item sent immediately that LOOKED as though I had searched forever for that perfect match, I stumbled upon Uncommon Goods and it was a beautifully orchestrated transaction. I will be a customer for life. This company is NOT inexpensive, but its items are well made by human minds and hands... sometime in your life, you will notice quality and craftsmanship aren't cheap. If you can't find a special gift from this company, you're not honing in on THE GIFT Turn the page in the catalog; it IS in there. Find it. Buy it. Make someone SPECIAL smile.
I ordered one small puzzle at first to test it out because the reviews were so bad but I got it within two days! So i then made a bigger order and loved everything! Their items are so cool
I placed an order for 7 items. I placed the orders over a week before Christmas. When I checked out nothing was on back order. Appartently after I checked out they placed the items on back order and didn't notify me. Now its the night before Christmas Eve and I have found out that my items will not be ready. One of the items shows a shipping time of 3/31/16. Why would anyone order something that cost 40 dollars and wait 4 months on this? This company is horrible. I will stick with Amazon as they deliver as promised. In response to Uncommon goods. I did not miss this and decide to wait on backorder. It never appeared on your website. The note for back order is in Red Lettering and stands out on your page. I order hundreds of items each year offline. You are the only company that failed to deliver 5 out of 7 items on time. Obvisiouly if I am ordering for Christmas I am not waiting on back order.
While we do notify customers that an item is on backorder before it can even be added to the shopping basket and we ask customers if they prefer to have the in-stock items ship right away or if they'd prefer to wait until the backordered item is able to ship, we can see that if a customer were in a hurry that these messages could be missed. I wish I had looked up whether this company was legit or not. I am ordering this item in April 2021 and I have not gotten it. It was projected for April 13th, and it is currently April 22nd with no update on my order. The last update was on the 14th, that just says "in transit to next location". I am pretty sure this company is a scam. Customer service sucks as well!

I see that many people have had a bad experience, but in my case, I ordered a "Sarcastic 9 Ball" (which is very funny and well made). It came quickly in perfect condition. No problems.
I ordered a gift on 30th Dec 2021, expected to receive by 18th Jan 2022, and now is 2nd Feb 2022 and still no update from them. Emailed them countless of times just to get response "We have reached out to our international shipping partner to contact the carrier and we are currently awaiting a response." STILL NO UPDATE! SCAM! This is the most frustrating e-commerce purchase so don't ever buy anything from here again!

I used them last year and all was good. This year, however, nothing but bad.
I ordered my items on Dec 11 (all items listed as "in stock"). As of Dec 19, they had not shipped. I did get one item well over a week late. The second has yet to ship (today is the 21st). I was issued a tracking number for this item, yet mysteriously, it did not work. Only to find out that it in fact had not shipped, contrary to the shipping notification. I have gotten two different stories from the customer service reps, and am told I will have it by Friday (which I highly doubt). I will not be using this company again.
Also, Jennifer G. [uncommon goods rep], please do me the favor of not insulting me with the same "I'm sorry for this mix up. I would like to follow up and investigate this further" crap. You have spewed this on every bad review, and if you have not been able to figure out the problem after all this time and bad reviews, then you need a new occupation. Might I suggest something other than detective. If you are really interested in solving the problem... then try closing the business. That should do it.

As I have seen there is more than one review here about their shipping times and systems.
I ordered express delivery (4 - 7 days).
I ordered on the 12th, and now on the 18th there is no tracking number, and the goods have not been shipped.
When I spoke to them they said I can expect anytime between 24th and 30th. Which is now between 14 and 18 days. I expect they do not ship express, but rather keep for themselves as extra profit.
The customer service is not actually customer service. Its more telling them telling you that "sorry its not our problem now." And "there is no way for us to help you" The customer has to now deal with shippers.
