My son religiously pops a bubble each day when he returns home from work. Without your bubble calendar, I would have to fashion one up myself, at great frustration. So Uncommon Goods offers us a compact, fun-filled activity certain to make any household function better. Just wish the price were less!
So I used to buy from this site - used to. Last order, the snuck in a "perks" membership. By the time I see my credit card bill to pay - it's past the 30 days to cancel. This is just fraud. Memberships should be a proactive choice, not a sneaky charge. I'm done with this company.
Everyone loved the items I gave, the party was a success. Fast service and very pleased. Thank you Jeannie R.
Great products and great customer service when an item was delivered slightly damaged! Will most definitely shop there again.
Terrible customer service. I order 2 things, one for a Christmas present and another item that was back-ordered until January, but I ordered it anyways for a January birthday present. I ordered the Christmas present with expedited shipping. Today I was supposed to get the shipment email for the item that was in stock, but instead the back-ordered item is being shipped. I started a chat with a Kelvin C. Who was nothing but rude from the beginning. His first response to me was that the IN STOCK item would be delivered on the 27th, even though I ordered it 10 days before WITH EXPRESS SHIPPING. I told him how I ordered the express shipping because I was guaranteed a delivery date before the 24th. His response was that my item was arriving before Christmas. I corrected him by copying and pasting his very first comment and reminding him that the 27th is AFTER Christmas. He apologized (for probably thinking I was a space-case), but then only offered me a refund on my shipping. Unfortunately, that really does me no good as now I need to get a new Christmas present. It makes no sense to me that items in stock are being shipped out after back-ordered items. We'll see if they even get the refund right. The site has great stuff, but I don't plan to return or recommend to others.
I ordered from this company, 2 cat robot gadgets! No email confirmation, payment processed and to date no product! SCAMMED!
I apologize for any issues you've had with your order. I'm going to message you directly so that I can get your order information and look into the status of your order.
I have had great experiences ordering from Uncommon goods. The products are as described, arrive quickly, and I will order from them again.
Hi ordered a product from US to India on Nov 21st. The product is Bond-touch. Uncommongoods use BorderFree as their delivery partner and this company uses DHL express as their carrier.
Uncommongoods said its going to take 15 days to deliver the item. But its more than that I couldn't get the delivery.
Because the product was bond-touch, I placed the shipping address to a house address of my friend and wanted the delivery there. Which is 1 lane behind our house. But now DHL express is asking for an address exact matching proof of the consignee. Since my address in the documents is different than shipping address, DHL Express asked me to send a confirmation letter of change in address from Borderfree.
When I asked BorderFree, they said we cannot provide that.
When I asked UncommonGoods, they gave me this following response in a mail.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The parcel is rejected at the door and returned by the carrier. On receipt of the parcel, the appropriate refund (as per your returns policy) will be processed.
Or delivered as agreed at which time you may issue a credit return label to the customer. "
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In indian currency, this costs over 14,000 rupees. I am not sure about my product when I will be receiving.
It just takes a minute or so just to send a confirmation mail for change in address and still borderfree (uncommongoods carrier) is not providing and stuck still with the customs.
Saw some reviews getting answered, I am trying to get solution for this without loss of money.
I ordered a birth month flower grow kit but received six packages of some magnetic slime. Very upset!
Hi Willa! Thanks for posting, we're so sorry to hear there was an error with the order. When you can, please email us your order details directly here or at: feedback@uncommongoods.com. We'll be happy to further support you from there.
These bowls are beautiful. Thanks for getting them to my door in tact this time. Appreciate it. Your staff understanding and helpful.
12/22/2020 UPDATE: I have called customer service twice in two days and spoke to very nice people who could do nothing for me. The last person said a manager would call and they haven't. No refund yet and the person I spoke with couldn't even tell me how much I was getting back or send an email to verify the return confirmation with itemized numbers (I received unspecific return confirmations with no items or return prices listed). Total I've spent over 3 hours on hold or with a service person with no luck. I'm beyond upset but I'm just planning on letting them keep my ~$146. Not worth my time.
Have had a few terrible experiences with them this year - professionally and personally. Mid-year tried ordering some client gifts and their corporate team was unable to help facilitate and didn't offer much assistance we ended up contacting the company that manufactured the product directly and even as a mom and pop shop they handled the volume and shipping BETTER that UG. Personally, I ordered many Christmas gifts from them in late November/early December that has still not arrived. Shipping labels have been created and my account charged but no updates to status on UG website OR USPS website associated to tracking number. Nobody reached out to me so I reached out to follow up. No good explanation. They said they'd send replacement items but most everything was sold out. I asked about a refund and they told me to wait until the items showed up...? I ended up pushing back on that and was able to get a refund but now I'm back to square one for ~$150 worth of gifts for my little nieces. Extremely disappointing and final straw for me. I've ordered from them going back to 2015. Never again.
Hi Aleeza! Thank you for reaching out, we are so sorry to hear that you had this experience. We would be happy to look further into everything and do our best to turn this around. Please email us your order details directly at: feedback@uncommongoods.com. We look forward to hearing from you and assisting. Stay safe and have a good day.
I ordered a birthstone hanging globe in May for my sister's May birthday. I was notified that it would arrive by June 20th. I was willing to wait for it and give her a belated gift, but it is now July 4th, and I am still waiting. Uncommon Goods claims they shipped it via UPS on June 18th. From UPS, it was supposed to go to the post office. It supposedly arrived at the post office on June 25th. I never received it. I have contacted Uncommon Goods and was told it has been lost in transit because they can not find any tracking information on it. They should have the tracking information and be able to track it for me. The post office says they have not received it. I am completely disappointed that I have no gift for my sister, and I have requested a refund since they are out of stock of the item I wanted. What a disaster and an embarrassment for me. I have to find something else for my sister a month after her 45th birthday. I will not trust this company again. I better get my refund soon!
Hi Fran! Thank you so much for reaching out, we are so sorry about all of this. We'll be emailing you privately in order to provide you with additional support. Thank you for being patient and we'll be in touch soon.
I was a seller of my work on Uncommongoods for over three years. Everything was good on the first two years. I added a new product to the one that was already selling and was doing okay. Then I wanted to add more options to that collection and after many attempts to contact the senior buyer I was working with, there was no communication or feedback on the emails I sent. Total communication breakdown. Uncommongoods also will try to squeeze your pricing very low to get into their print catalog (I had to discount 60% from retail to get in there) then when time comes to get paid, (they are very good at) unfortunately again, they will pay you at a 2% discount (to them) on what you already give them as discount on your products. Then for some reason my first product disappeared from their marketplace "product unavailable"... My second product was still there but running low after selling over 100 pieces over the holidays so I had to email them to warn about low inventory as I did several times in the past (that should not have been my job by the way...) again no answers from anyone. I decided to contact via email the junior buyer for my product type and finally got a reply saying my product were not going to be carried anymore because of slow sales... What? I just sold over 100 pieces a couple months ago... Slow sales? And no contacting me to tell me they were going to discontinue my products when I have made inventory just for Uncommongoods!. So you have it... Uncommongoods make themselves sound like a great company to work with (for their employees which might be the case) but they are not taking care of the ones that make the products that pay their bills, the artisans making their products. So as an artisan, I would say, stay away from the deceivingly good company that uncommomngoods is saying they are.
Hi Jean-Luc! Thank you for posting your concern, we'll be happy to further assist you. When you can, please email us at feedback@uncommongoods.com or reply here, and we'll be happy to forward your review to the proper department. We look forward to hearing from you soon, stay safe.
Wonderful and unusual items at fair prices.
Even when I had a small problem the response was immediate and the problem taken care of.
I ordered a customized family print and it came out exactly as I had hoped. And most importantly, the recipients loved the gift!
Purchased a book that I had "customized" with my husbands name on it. The site allowed me to put in all of his name (characters/letters) so with spaces added as well his full name totaled 21 characters, the site took the customization and at no time did it say that I have to many characters/letters and to re-do, so I ordered the book. Well, I get the book in and the name is spelled wrong... well the last 3 characters/letters were left off... I call customer service and speak to a Michael who starts off with not even being able to find my order, even with the order #, I tell him my situation he then puts me on hold and a Jessie (Floor supervisor?) and to make a LONG story short I was told that the company (artist) they order from only allows a certain amount of letters/characters (25) to be put onto the book... then proceeds to tell me after I tell him that the characters/letters and even the spaces between the name is only 21... he then tells me that in the computer world that characters and letters are a mathematical equation and that it is different from what I put in and they will drop off the characters/letters that will not fit? What the heck kind of crap is that! So I guess you have to be a computer and math genius to order a book with characters/letters on them. Still waiting to hear back from uncommon goods to see if the company(artist) that prints the book can do it! I will never order another thing from Uncommon goods ever again. I own a spa in a strip mall that more than 10,000 patrons visit and every one of them will know not to order from your company. You need to do business with better "Artists"!
We're so sorry about the issue with your husband's gift and for the unhelpful response you received when you reached out to us. We'll email you privately so that we can get this resolved for you right away.
Purchased a customized mug for a friend because it seemed to be a funny, unique gift. I read the shipping details for the item and understood that it would take approximately 2.5 weeks to receive the item including the proof, production, and shipment. However, there were additional delays at the outset which were not noted on the website, and correspondingly, a delay in receiving the proof and shipment. I placed the order mid-November, received a proof of the design at the end of November (beyond the stated 1-2 business days from the date of the order), responded with a question, got a response 4 days later, responded that same day approving the proof, and come to find out days later that customer service didn't understand my email and didn't begin the production process (apparently, saying I'll keep the original design in the proof is not enough). Then I get a separate email to apparently approve a proof I already approved. Once I approved again, I checked the order status which stated that it would not ship until January 3rd! Despite ordering well over a month before the holidays, this item will come well after that. This is a heads up for anyone considering purchasing any customized item from this company.
I would not purchase any customized item if you're closing in on the holidays. If you're set on purchasing a customized item, expect delays and purchase months in advance.
Additional notes: If you visit the Uncommon Goods website, you'll notice a "reviews" section with very little to no reviews or nothing but high reviews. This is because the company reviews the reviews before publishing. They skew the feedback. They can reject a review if they don't like it. Not sure how they expect to build consumer trust and loyalty, as well as select quality items to sell, if customers can't publish reviews or read honest feedback from other customers. This company lacks serious transparency. Some items you can also find elsewhere including Amazon or Etsy. The items aren't as "uncommon" as the company would like you to think.
Hello, Sorry to hear you are having a hard time with your order. Please email your order details to us at: help@unommongoods.com so that we can look into this delay further. We're here to help.
These guys have overcharged me, charged for items not shipped, shipped defective products and lied about giving me credit for shipping.
We're sorry to hear that you've had such a frustrating experience, Harmon! We'll send you a private message to get this resolved ASAP.
I have ordered several items as gifts and the shipping is always fast and the items are unique and of good quality and appreciated.
Very very very slow shipping, it was super expensive shipping yet it arrived 6 days after the estimated date of delivery
I'm so sorry about this. I'll message you directly to get more information about your order so that I can look into the issue further.
I love this company! Always a great selection of unusual gift items and the customer service is outstanding. HIGHLY recommend!
They are very slippery with their shipping. $9 for UPS which turns into the cheapest USPS service. 2 weeks to get a item. Greedy practice.
Hi Don -- We are so sorry to hear that you had such a poor experience. We've emailed you privately in order to gather some additional details, in order to assist you. Thank you for being so patient, stay safe and have a wonderful day!
Always delighted to give and receive the unique items from uncommon goods. Great customer Service. Prompt shipping
Love the breadth of product this site offers. Always something unique to give as a gift for others or myself! Thank you!
Received quality products. They messed up one of the orders and after a lengthy discussion we came to an acceptable resolution. (Product appeared already opened, poor packaging, missing part) After which they sent me this to confirm.TWO DAYS later they tell me yeah sorry, we aren't sending a replacement. This is after diending almost $500 with them. There are many companies to choose from - choose an honest one.
EDIT/ADD
The company responded to this review. They stated I requested a replacement which wasn't even the case… The customer service rep is the one who suggested they send a replacement and I agreed. I also went back-and-forth with them all day long, and was repeatedly told they would not stand by that. I let them know My only recourse was to post a review warning others, and they seemed to be fine with that. But then I did post the review, and finally received the appropriate resolution, and even more than I was seeking as they not only refunded the price, but did send me a replacement. That is a more than generous and appropriate response to my issue. Apparently the people who see the reviews are different from the people you deal with When emailing customer service. The initial person I dealt with was also extremely nice and helpful and professional. It was so weird and unexpected to get another message. Two days later that they weren't going to follow through with the outcome from that initial phone call. In any event, I'm really glad they made things right because I have since received other products from that order and everything really is very nice and high-quality. Now, I would do business with this company again.

They stated sending replacement then refused.
Hi Debbie.
Sorry you're having such a hard time with this order and we apologize for any confusion. We just reviewed your issue and see you initially requested a replacement, to which we provided a replacement code instead of a replacement order, in error. We've gone ahead and issued a full refund for the item, which will post in 3-5 days or sooner. We'll also make sure to get that replacement Reel viewer out to you asap! You'll receive a separate email with your new order information soon, if anything else comes up please feel free to give us a call or reply to this email. Here is our # +1-718-210-1200. Have a wonderful day!
On December 2nd, I ordered the personalized hobby tumblers by designer Shelly Klein from the Uncommon Goods website. I ordered with expedited service for delivery on December 18th. As soon as the proofs arrived in my inbox, I reviewed and sent word back as to not hold up the process. On December 16th, the Uncommon Goods website indicated my order had shipped and would arrive by December 18th. The date passed. I phoned numerous times after the 18th and received the same message. We are working on it. On December 22nd I received an email from customer service that there had been a "production snafu", but I was assured I would receive by December 24th. I received on December 26th. All events had passed that I had ordered these for. I opened the box on the 26th and the tumblers are awful. You can barely see the design on each glass. The website lists these may be lighter in person, but these are truly bad. The color is so faint it looks like a mistake. These look nothing like the photos on the website. I had thought that maybe I could ship to my guests after the fact, but I cannot. These are embarrassing. I am currently following up again with customer service.
Hi Cheryl. First of all, thank you for doing your part to provide us with the proofs timely. We appreciate your patience on this. I will email you privately to gather additional details on the purchase and check in with you on where you are with the customer service team. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
