My son religiously pops a bubble each day when he returns home from work. Without your bubble calendar, I would have to fashion one up myself, at great frustration. So Uncommon Goods offers us a compact, fun-filled activity certain to make any household function better. Just wish the price were less!
So I used to buy from this site - used to. Last order, the snuck in a "perks" membership. By the time I see my credit card bill to pay - it's past the 30 days to cancel. This is just fraud. Memberships should be a proactive choice, not a sneaky charge. I'm done with this company.
Update 23 December 2019: I reached out directly to the company President - he was VERY apologetic and immediately resolved my issue. I hope this company straightens out their customer service issues as they sell some cool items. I would take a chance ordering again but do it a few months before I needed the item.
Original Review: I read the bad reviews but I really wanted the product so I didn't listen to them - my bad. I ordered the Ultimate Homebrewer's Kit on Cyber Monday. On December 5th I received a Wine Barrel Guitar Rack that was addressed to me in New Hampshire but billed to someone who happened to have the same name as me in North Carolina.
I emailed their customer service who gave me instructions on sending the wrong product back. I have been emailing every day since asking about my order. Every day I got a different answer - it would ship soon, it shipped but they didn't have a tracking number yet, etc. etc. On Sunday, they responded that it arrived on Dec 5th. I again explained I got the wrong item - sent them photos of the item and packing slip. They responded that Fed Ex must have lost my order (but the could not provide a tracking number).
My husband called, spoke to a supervisor who assured him that the order would ship Monday, December 16th. A few hours later I received an email apologizing and saying that I would get a separate email with the tracking email. I emailed Tuesday, no response. Emailed Wednesday, no response. Emailed at 6 AM this morning (Thursday) no response. My husband called again and asked for a supervisor - they told him that "the artist" had not responded to their inquiries. My husband then explained AGAIN that we ordered a Homebrewing Kit. They told him they understood that but "an artist" makes them and since he/she was not responding they had no idea when my product was going to ship but I likely won't have it for Xmas.
So for the past three weeks they outright lied to me saying it shipped, FedEx lost it, etc., etc. - I have wasted so much time dealing with them and now I don't have a gift and there is no time to order something similar elsewhere! I emailed them again asking them to cancel my order and issue a full credit - 8 hours later I still have not heard back.
In general I have always been happy with your products. The match strikers just didnt work which was frustrating because its such a good idea.
A place to shop for someone who has everything. Alot of "green" gifts by re-use/re-cycling. Cool items that you don't find just anywhere.
MY PACKAGE WAS LOST AND THEY REFUSED TO HELP ME BECAUSE I DID NOT PURCHASE INSURANCE ON THE SHIPPING, WHICH I WAS NEVER OFFERED. SCAM SCAM SCAM

I wish I could give 0 Starts! I ordered 6 Christmas gifts on Dec 3. They were supposed to arrive on December 16th. I needed for our family Christmas on the 23rd. They did not arrive on the 16th. I called Customer Service and was told they were on back order until January 25th! I asked for a REFUND and was assured I would receive in 3-5 days. I received an email confirmation of this call. I had to rebuy the 6 gifts from another company. On the 22nd, I received an email that my order was on it's way but would not make it for Christmas. It thanked me for NOT asking for a refund and offered me a $25 gift card for my order. I called once again and asked why they were still sending and why I wasn't getting my refund. I was told that "it was an auto generated" email and that my account showed I was receiving a full refund!
Today, December 26th, part of my order arrived! I once again called and asked why it was now sent after I requested a refund, bought new presents, and was told it was on back order until January 25th!
I was told that since I now have the order, I cannot receive a refund! I am now stuck with gifts I don't need because I already rebought and Christmas is over, and I'm out $200! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! Horrible!

I placed an order 12/14 for items for Christmas. I received 1 item and on 12/20 called to check status of 2nd. Was assured that the item would ship THAT DAY and arrive on/before 12/24. Checked status again 12/21 and was assured once again that it would ship (didn't on 12/20 like i was told) and arrive on/before 12/24. DID THE SAME THING 12/22 AND WAS ASSURED AGAIN arrival on/before 12/24. Well 12/23 called again and first told it shipped, then told they would send a replacement overnight AND then told it was on backorder till January. If I was advised when i placed the order that it wasn't available till january i wouldn't have bought it. If i was told on 12/20 that it was on backorder i would've cancelled order. But for 4 straight days i was told the item was going to arrive 12/24 and then told it was on backorder the day before Christmas eve is outrageous and unbelievable. And was offered nothing but refund and $10 credit, which i declined because i will never purchase another item from this company again.

I ordered 4 items on Dec 3,2016. I was told 1 item would not be shipped until 12/16... I order anyway because it would be in time for Christmas, right?... WRONG!
It is the eve of 12/19. I never received a call/ email etc... that this was delayed. I called this early afternoon 12/19 to get some info and spoke to a very ignorant customer service rep Sapphire James. Her immediate attitude was one of disgust and off-put to be dealing with the issue. She quickly rushed me off the phone saying, she would call the company and get back to me with an answer.
Few hours later, no email. So I call again. Waiting over 30 min to talk to someone, then I got transferred back to Sapphire who immediately was aggressive towards me. No appologizes, her answer, I haven't heard anything...
I explained this was a Christmas gift I need for 12/24 and I am nervous it might not come on time. She then put, me, on hold another 10-15 min... and miraculously got and answer it would ship today?! Question, why could she not do that the 11st time arou d?
She said not to worry I, already paid for expedited shipping so it would get to me in 2 days.
This was at 3:45 pm. I asked her for an email with the garentee and/or tracking. NOPE, she couldn't do that, it comes from another dept was the answer, and was extremely unprofessional in her conversation with me. I forced the issue so she just sent me an email stating a tracking would be sent once it is shipped... she also hung up on me. Unbelievable!
9:33pm EST, guess what... no tracking number! So it is now 3 days passed my guarantee. Looks like I will be calling the company again tomorrow.
Love that as a customer it is I who has to do the follow up. It is now looking like AT BEST I will not get this item until 12/23. Again that is assuming it ships tomorrow.
This was my 1st and ONLY time I will use this company. HORRIBLE experience and I intend to share my story on every media outlet I can.

I'm so very sorry for this entire experience. There are many (many) things that we could have done better and I'm so sorry that we dropped the ball repeatedly. I'd like to look into this myself to understand exactly where in our process things started going poorly and look for ways to prevent that from happening again. I'd also like to look into the calls and emails with our representatives - it's pretty clear that we could have done a much better job. Finding gifts for my discerning mother is tough! I saw a necklace on this site and thought it would be a unique gift. I ordered it, and was double charged. Also, I checked the gift box option but it was not mentioned in the confirmation. So I called customer service. They said I didn't opt for it, though they did have the message I wrote out for the card. She said the only way to fix the order was to cancel the order and order it again. So we did and I was charged a third time. I was told the money for the TWO extra charges would be back in my account in about a WEEK. Later that same day I discovered that my mother's address would be different by the time of delivery. I called back hoping I could change the delivery address and they said I could, took the new address and assured me it would be shipped to the new address within the expedited delivery time frame. (I paid extra to make sure it arrived in time for her birthday.) Well a week passed and I realized it was three days after the deliver by date and I had heard nothing so I called again. Again I spoke with a rep who, I hate to say, seemed uneducated at best, much like the two or three other people I spoke with. She told me several attempts had been made to deliver the item. I asked to which address? And she read off the OLD address. I reiterated that I'd called and changed the address and was assured that it would be sent to the new address. She confirmed that the call was in their records, as was the new address. I complained about the double charge, the gift box and now this and she said it was not acceptable and that she'd look into and see what they could do. A few minutes later she called back and told me that the last number on the zip code was wrong. (my fault) I asked so this caused it to be shipped to the old address? She started talking in circles and making no sense. I realized I was being given the run around. She said this would be taken care of in the next two to three days! Meanwhile my mother's birthday gets farther and farther in the past.
I've now started looking up reviews of Uncommon Goods and I can see this is NOT unusual for them and that I have been duped. I don't have a lot of faith anymore, and I fear the necklace will actually be cheap junk. The price certainly wasn't cheap.
Tip for consumers:
JUST DON'T. Shop somewhere else.
