I titled this Deception on Steroids because there are places where they have a ton of great reviews -- no doubt paid. But other legit reviews from actual buyers, like this one, exposing the fake reviews, in addition to the inferior products.
Vakkerlight.com and Vakkerlighting.com are a couple of those scammy internet interfaces advertising pictures of products from other legit suppliers. Don't fall for it! This company is based in China yet has two URLS and two U.S. physical addresses, which I believe is part of their deception.
Ordered a fixture from this company August 18th; received it 5 weeks and 2 days later. Upon opening the box, it was not exactly what we ordered: different type of part, different colored parts and overall a "cheaper" looking version of what is advertised on their website. Upon contacting seller, they have refused to acknowledge the difference (despite pictures!) nor authorize a return. Instead, they have repeatedly offered to send other parts, so we can disassemble and reconfigure the fixture as we'd like. I don't want to wait who-knows-how-long again for parts from China that still may not be what we expect. According to LinkedIn, Martin Chao is CEO in Houston, though company address is in Baltimore? Martin is also managing mooielight (obviously another company to avoid). There's no way this is not a chinese company.
We don't want to disassemble and create a new fixture! That's why we ordered one online. Besides, this is simply not what we ordered: it is a cheaper looking version. It's obvious they sent a different, inferior version of the fixture they advertise on their website. They make an actual promise on their website that what customers see is exactly what they get! Not true. Despite the no-questions-asked, 100% refund policy also described on their website, Seller continues to refuse to issue a refund for a product that is clearly not the same as shown on their website.
All we are seeking is a refund and a return authorization for the incorrect product, returned at Seller's expense.
Tip for consumers:
We ordered in good faith, reached out with a problem in good faith, and are meeting nothing but resistance despite promises outlined on their website. This, to me, is scammy business practice.
