VFS is the worst service provider I have ever used. If you get any chance to avoid transacting with them and use any alternative, I will strongly recommend you doing that.
Useless customer service, buggy website, constant attempts to upsell on you 'premium' services that you wouldn't need if the actually did the job they are meant to do. Somebody outsourced a gov't department to these guys, and they decided to make money by stiffing the customer. If they weren't a monopoly they'd be out of business. GET RID OF VFS.
In spite of booking an appointment, made you wait for more than 3 hours due to staff shortage. Should not be taking appointments if they don't have staff to attend to you. Worst experience ever!
The website is useless. I have tried to login a number of times but it keeps displaying an error message. I even made a fresh account and it still wont let me login. A very poorly managed system.
I have tried many times with many cards but the payment for booking an appointment is not going through. No proper contact number for customer service. Very very bad service

ON THE PHONE WAS ANY BETTER, YOU ARE DEAD WRONG. THE CALLS COST 30P A MIN AND YOU ARE KEPT WAITING DELIBERATELY FOR OVER 20 MINS EVERY TIME TO ACCRUE MORE MONEY FOR THE FIRM. THE STAFF ARE VERY RUDE ESPECIALLY THE RECEPTION MANAGER WHO IS PARTICULARLY DISCOURTEOUS TO YOU IF YOU ARE AN ETHNIC MINORITY. I HAD THE WORST TIME OF MY LIFE HERE. I CANT BELIEVE THAT THIS PLACE REPRESENTS THE GATEWAY TO EUROPE IN 2021. I THOUGHT GOING ONLINE WOULD REMOVE MIDDLEMEN AND BOTTOM FEEDERS LIKE VFS GLOBAL BUT TO MY DISMAY IT IS STILL HERE. RE Schengen visa from Slovenia for August 2022 at the Manchester office.
Had to try hundreds of times to get an appointment. There is no chance of getting an appointment at a location and date of your own choosing. I contacted the embassy to see if I could bypass VFS Global - this did result in VFS giving me an appointment which I couldn't get to. I made several complaints and sent emails - none of which received a reply. Contacting VFS by phone was impossible.
At the centre the queueing and appointment system seemed to be totally random - I had to wait almost an hour beyond my appointment time. The lady who served me was polite and helpful, but other members of staff were quite the opposite e.g. the security staff were quite rude and seemed biased against and to certain groups of people.
No self-respecting country should outsource to VFS - it may save them a bit of work and the need to have fewer people hanging around their embassies, but it is sending a very poor message about what they think of people who wish to visit their countries - i. E. we don't care if you get treated like rubbish, or how much hassle you have to go through and any extra expense.
Also expect some extra costs, for example their courier service (if you can't collect yourself), not cheap and an expensive SMS.
Next year I will go anywhere I can get a visa without having to go through VFS.
It would be a 0 star because the heidous password rule which only purpose is to make your account set up experience as suffering as possible. Such a trash
Like many others, I was having major issues setting my appointment date. The website will crash, basically saying I logged in too many times and I should wait 2 hours. Or, it would not recognise that I had an application ongoing but would not let me start a new application. The customer service was not helpful. Clearing Cookies, cache didnt work. This is what worked:

I know this worked bc I didnt get any errors twice when i tried at my school. So maybe try using a different- or public/company internet service?

They got my older son photo on my younger sons visa ie the wrong way. In the mean time they lost my wife's passport and visa. This is important stuff, you are messing about twitch peoples lives
This is poor customer service from VFS OCI Misc service for minor. I downloaded the forms from their checklist see this link - https://visa.vfsglobal.com/one-pager/india/united-states-of-america/oci-services/pdf/oci-misc-services-minor-checklist.pdf. When I checked the status it says I send the wrong parental authorization form, but I send the form based on the checklist. It was their mistake and they are blaming me, which is unacceptable. Also, they said the photo is not acceptable which I don't understand because it as the same specification mentioned in the application package. Now I have to resend the parental authorization and new photo in order to process the application again. What a waste of time and effort.?
Absolutely no communication (Italy long term study visa). Hidden charge of £90 to send off application that was not mentioned before. Visa application process paused for 10 days to allow for 'missing documents' to be sent - although all required documents had already been sent in and no clarity on which exact documents were 'missing'. Failure to send in these mystery documents before the 10 day deadline results in application being terminated. Email responses take days at a time and none answer any queries you have - 10 days is up before you manage to get a response simply detailing what document to send in. VFS inform you beforehand that accommodation is required to be booked for at least the first 15 days of the stay - it is then later found out via the Italian consulate itself that it is actually required for accommodation to be booked for the entire period of the stay, thus incorrect information was given from VFS and as a consequence caused a lot of hassle making a new accommodation booking for a long period of time with a 10 day deadline. No help whatsoever from VFS agents over the phone when trying to get to the bottom of this mess. Terrible, terrible experience, with absolutely no clarity, communication or assistance. 10 days spent trying to get a very simple answer and zero luck. Visa application will likely be rejected over 'missing documents' that were already present when given to VFS.
Worst company webservices and customer service is very poor. Well believe they are just making money on government funds which is the money of tax payers.
Applied for my mother's visit visa for Uk from Pakistan. Got our passport back with no visa and absolutely no explanation why it has been refused. Total waste of time and money
I have not been able to track my passport renewal application since day one. Went to their office to complain about they same which is 200 miles away from where I live and the gave me fake promises that they will sort it out but it's almost been a month and a half and it's still down. They said they will take it up with their technical team and will sort it out. After two days received an email from their office saying my online tracking is working when checked it was still the same. Emailed back but they didn't bother replying to me. Email again after 7 days but no reply. They don't care about your passport which is one of the most important documents. They charge a lot but their service is zero. Their call center is also same. They charge $10 for your call and the call center executives don't have a clue about your application because they don't have a system in place. I wouldn't want to deal with vfs if Indian embassy would take my application directly but we are forced to go through VFS. May be it's another scam.
I had submitted my Indian passport reissue certificate documents through VFS. First of all the website is not easy to navigate. Secondly the customer service number and help is TERRIBLE and do not give you good direction which is appalling considering you're charged to speak with them. THIRDLY- the incorrectly rejected my application because the additional documents were not submitted within the timeframe specified when in fact THEY WERE. And LASTLY, they have only returned the original documents I submitted and not the additional documents which indicates to me that they DO NOT HAVE A PROCESS TO track your documents. How am I supposed to trust their service?
They get back saying that the passport photo submitted is not clear. Strangely, the exact same photo was submitted to the US Passport services and I got my US Passport with no issues at all! And the Customer Service doesn't know English I suppose. They respond as though they have not understood a simple English complaint! ALL THIS COMPANY WANTS IS TO LOOT PEOPLE'S MONEY!
