VFS is a worst agent I ever face. I'm not sure why Indian government using these kind of useless agents for their visa services. When I applied for OCI, registered at government site and advice to mail the application and passport to VFS. After 2 weeks I received back my passport without any process. Reason was, I don't attach return envelop (nowhere requested in my whole application process) and my parent passport detail. My parent passed away (father 40 years & mother 30 years) years ago. I'm 50+ years old, blind people also find my birthday from my OCI application. I like to rate them "0". I'm cancelling my OCI application and applying for tourist e-visa. No phone number to contact, no email address to message, worst people. Unable to get an appointment to visit in person. I already book my ticket to India, may be this will be my last trip to India. They made the OCI card process very difficult to all.
The website and humans are both incredibly unhelpful. The website doesn't work and doesn't actually give all the options necessary for someone to apply for certain visas (example for a dependent on an employment visa). They charge you money to talk to customer service. The Chicago office exudes an incredibly cold and unwelcoming atmosphere like you are wasting their time for needing their services. I have wasted so much time and money because of them. If I could avoid using them I would but the country I am moving to is in business with them so I have no choice. If you have the option to avoid them, I would.
The site kicks you out or puts you in a different country without the option to change it to where you actually reside. Just atrocious. It's such a simple site and yet so poorly built. It almost seems like some well-connected rich guy weaseled a deal from these government entities, collecting fees and delivering an awful service in return.
Useless service. VFS are nothing more than a money grabbing post box
VFS provided nil feedback on the progress of my application.
Beware phone calls to VFS are charged at a premium rate. My attempts to get anyone to help me cost £88.0.
Navigating the services of VFS Global feels like stepping back into the colonial era. A lack of clarity regarding application requirements is a persistent issue. For every document, they seem to have an extra requirement, often alluding to a standard operating procedure (SOP) that, curiously, doesn't appear to be documented anywhere. It's baffling to understand why numerous consulates and embassies continue to employ their services. In my experience, VFS Global offers one of the most subpar service levels in the industry.
I would give -5 if I could. All the staff including the manager in VFS Hounslow needs training. We have already been twice just to waste our time. The first appointment we were asked for parents passport despite us applying for OCI via our grand parents and birth certificate of the parent given to check the relationship. On our second appointment we have been requested to give original birth certificate which is not even stated anywhere including High Commission of India. I found filling the tax returns in UK(which is normally very complicated) is easier than trying to get the application checked as at the end of the day that is what they are doing. I feel that may be they get some sort of entertainment by making people wait and request additional information which is not even needed and show authority and let them return again and waste time. High commission of India should be made aware of the poor service people are getting only if they answered their phone and reply to emails.
VFS Global has commission agents near to their office who charges 50 dollars just to submit your documents to the counter which as a customer you cant do... shame on VFS Global for managing comission agents... when i wanted to complain about this there was noone available as usual... well if you want commissions plus your fees please mention that on your website so people know that they have agents available for for services they charge
I wish they had zero star ratting. I wasted whole my day trying book visa appointment. The worst part is inspite of successful login and saving my info, each time I have to enter all the details again and again. I don't understand why any country would consider VFS for any kind of service. I request GOI to blacklist VFS for extremely poor customer services and invite other players in market. I beg you please fire AFS.
Tried to book an appointment for over a month and could not. I had to email.the Embassy and manage to get a manual appointment.
Staff is incompetent, cannot even recognize legitimate documents.
The office in London deals with visa application for 20 countries, go figure why you cannot book an appointment.
If I could give a zero rating I would. If you have alternative choices for any visa needs, use them. Long story, but they represented a need for a Brazil visa; we filed; they took our money. E-visa site was a disaster. VFS customer service was almost non-existent. Brazil gov' quickly reversed announcement and delayed the need for a visa by three months; so we immediately asked for a refund (no longer needed a visa on our early visit dates). VFS kept the money & continued to process visa request that was no longer needed by us. The only time they communicated regularly was when we asked for the refund... to say NO, NO, NO with no reasonable explanation. DO NOT USE THEM and share this with your fellow travelers
