I went to visionworks in Taylors,SC, to see if they could repair my son's glasses which the puppy took outside and mangled. They were friendly and acknowledged my entrance; my glasses were given to the manager, Kevin, who examined them and said he would try his best to repair them. He worked on them with different tools for a long time and did a fantastic job! I was so pleased! And did not even charge me--amazing! This is The Best shop for glasses I have ever found or used. Great job, Kevin!

I took my mother in September of '23 for new glasses and they were running a buy one, get one free special so we opted for that. Well, the first pair came within a few weeks but no sign of the second pair. I've lost track of the number of times I have called (both the store and now the customer service line) and have gone to the store in person at least twice. The customer reps have been pleasant and are trying to help. The "territory director" has not bothered to call me back even after me calling to escalate three times now. It has now been 5 months and I do not have what I ordered.
It was a very disappointing experience working with Dr. Chang and Dr. Lee at Vision Works Garden City. They don't care about you or have any patience at all, they just want your money.
Dr.chang did not check my eyes for contacts and used the same prescription as my glasses which was also taken from my previous prescription. During the follow up visit, I mentioned that I was not able to see with contacts at all. Dr. Lee replied that contact lenses are not as good as eyeglasses, and you would not be able to see letters, and you can leave because I have another patient to see. If this is the case, then what is the point of getting new contacts in the first place?
It is only Shelly who is good in that office, she is very experienced and polite, and she is very good at her job. As a matter of fact, Shelly asked Dr. Chang a question: "Are you going to change the prescription?".
Obviously, this is not my first experience with Vision works, but it is clear that they do not care about clients at all. All of their locations have employees who are unprofessional, and they never fix the problem.

I bought a pair of prescription glasses. When the Salesperson asked me wether I wanted a lenses that would scratch or not? I told her that I wanted the lense that would not scratch! She took it upon herself to write down the total opposite of my preferred choice! In less than 3 months, I have a pair of glasses that are unfit to wear and they say that I did not pay for lenses that would not scratch?!?! They are liars! Do not mess with these idiots!

Eyeglasses!
Recently purchased a pair of classes from Visionworks at a really great price which I was excited about! Had a decent eye exam, ordered the glasses, then left the store after being told the glasses would be ready in two weeks. So 2 weeks later, I check my order status, and I see that my order has jumped from the "inspect" phase (the last phase before being ready) all the way back to "start" and is now "pending." Haven't gotten any email updates or explanations from Visionworks, and I would like to know why my glasses are now late with no new completion date in sight. So I try to call my store, but nobody picks up the phone. It eventually routes me to the main customer service line, where I've now been on hold for around a half hour. Going to give up soon. Tried the online chat option, but no real people respond to messages there. I should NOT have to DRIVE to my store just to get answers for a question about glasses that are already paid for and nowhere to be found! Super frustrated.
$700 purchase with insurance. The frames rusted out and lenses scratched so bad it hurt my eyes. I asked if I could upgrade the glasses and was denied. I could replace the original but not upgrade. I received a new pair that did exactly the same thing within 2 months time! The quality of visionworks products is terrible! I will never purchase glasses there again!

Absolutely no personal effort made by the receptionist to make eye contact, speak clearly, be clear about what I was to expect, what charges would not be covered by my insurance, and then, accept responsibility for her shortcomings in all of the above when there was clearly a misunderstanding upon checkout. Optometrist was great. Too bad one of her team members out front was so impersonal it tainted the experience to the point I won't come back!
I had an appointment to get my contacts checked for fit. I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment. Waited 45 minutes and decided to leave when I noticed that other people (walk-ins too) were being served while I was left to wait. This review is for the Arlington Heights, IL location on Palatine Road. The doctor there is competent and polite. The clerks who work at the front desk are rude and petty people. Very unprofessional. I will not be returning. I'll be going back to LensCrafters, who are a good deal more expensive but much less headache than dealing with Visionworks' poor customer service.
Tip for consumers:
Don’t think you’re saving money because the poor customer service really makes it not worth the savings.

Staff doesn't always wear their name tag. I got a denial notice because if this, but I was able to correct it. Due to the staffs inappropriate knowledge of measuring, when I went to pick up my glasses he guessed where the bifocal line should be. No measuring of my eyes, so he said oh well we will send it back to do it over, so now I must wait another 14 days.
Thank you,

Not sure what is going on at VisionWorks, but they are not responsive to issues. I went to pick up my 2 pairs of glasses on 9 Jul 22 (Store #10 in Frisco TX) and only one was ready. No idea when the 2nd pair would be available.
Upon examining them, they were unsatisfactory because the lens protruded beyond the frame and could not be adjusted. Looked awful and requested a refund and to my surprise, would not refund me for 2 weeks and by check because they had transferred to a new computer system.
Upon contacting the Customer service department at the main office on 11 Jul 22, after a 40 minute wait, was told that it is a 30 day wait for a refund and would NOT connect me to a manager and then promptly hung up on me.
The online chat is a joke as well. You never actually chat with a person.
Stay away from these clowns!
This is the last time myself or anyone in my family will ever go there again. The doctors write the wrong prescriptions, they are impossible to get a hold of,, they are always taking off. After 4 return visits, my prescription was still wrong. In addition, you can be on hold for 30 minutes before a message comes on to have you leave your telephone number for them to call you back. Which of course never happens. The are incompetent and unprofessional.

In the 2 years I've been going. Never a good experience. Had and exam and found out thru another eye doctor the glasses were to strong. Wore my old ones for an additional year. Time for new ones I have been saving. Put them on and I constantly feel dizzy when wearing them. Arm breaks off the frame and I can't even make an appointment to get them fixed. The only appointments they are excepting is for New Eye Exams or Pick up of New Glasses. No other options and they don't answer the phone. Call and your referred to Website. I will find another Eye Doctor before I give this Company another dime of my money or my insurance companys money. If I could give zero stars I would.
Had my eye exam thru vision works. After glasses were made, could not see correctly. They had a different doctor do another exam and his numbers were slightly different. Had Glasses made. Could not see well at all with them. Went back a couple times for modifications and still could not see correctly. Spent over $720.00 for glasses and sunglasses.
They gave me mu money back.
Had another eye exam done somewhere else. Then took that prescription to COSTCO, paid slightly less that $400.00 for both eyeglasses and prescription sunglasses. COSTCO got it right on the 1st try! I will never go to VISION WORKS again. Their glasses were twice the price of COSTCO!
Yesterday I had the honor of dealing with the store manager, Darissa Cunat.
She was the best person I have ever had the pleasure of speaking with, and because of her l will make Visionwoks my 'go to' store for all things related to my eyesight. She had the patience of a saint and made several phone calls to make sure that my insurance company was doing all it was supposed to do on my behalf.

Calling customer service is a wast of time. If you don't get satisfaction from the store manger you are out of luck. Will never buy glasses from them again. Their rules keep changing most associates don't know these rules you can not count on what you are told. Terrible experience manger was rude I give them one star out five
I have been to the store in Grapevine, Texas. I will never shop here again. I've been given bad information regarding promotions about rebate programs from manufacturers on contacts.
The sales people at visionworks did not know the conditions/terms that had to be met to get your rebate from the manufacturer and ended up costing me a couple of hundred dollars. I would not have purchased the contacts from visionworks if the sales clerk had been honest and told me she had no idea what she was talking about.
This is the worst Vision Works store you can go to. The doctor updated my prescription and they shipped the old one. I called them every week for 2 Months someone I always saying we will order them and call me back when the contacts are here.
Never got a call back, always the same story.
Everyone is saying: "I don't know who you spoke to.
I speak for myself."
I am calling the store not you personally.
Never going back there after I get my correct prescription.
There was a problem of their contacts to try on. I came in at 2 pm. No one was there. I asked a staff nearby. I was told the person working at the eye exam office was on lunch break and should be back in 45 minutes. Such a great benefit for staff. BTW, it was Thursday afternoon.

This company is a joke, i have spent a week trying to get my prescription faxed. Store has a local number but they dont answer it, you get dumped into a call center with an average 1 hour hold time and they cant do anything but try to call the store. I have wasted so much time and energy and will never spend another dime
If I could give a zero star I would. They are the worst; the frames do not fit but I am forced to use them due to insurance; next time I would prefer to pay out of pocket elsewhere. I wish the union would look into this and give us choices
None of lenses the the doctor tried were out of focus, plus he stopped trying after a couple lenses. He gave up and used my 5 year-old eye glasses and figure out the right lenses, but numbers of new prescription were different from those old glasses. I really think I need to do find another eye doctor.
I spent $1200+ on Nov 16 for 3 pairs of glasses. On Dec 8 I went in to pick up my 3 sets to find only 1 had arrived, with no clue where the other 2 were. They reordered both missing pairs. 1 1/2 weeks later I received a text that 3 sets of glasses were being shipped to me. I received 2 sets, one that was originally missing, and a duplicate of the set I had originally picked up in the store. I have yet to receive my sunglasses as of Dec 30th. What an inept lab and company. How they are still in business is a complete puzzle…
Tip for consumers:
Do not use Visionworks
2 months ago I made an order for pair glasses in Princeton division of Visionworks, charge $325.98 was instantly posted on my credit card, however glasses were not delivered and explanation was: they were lost in a process. Refund still is a problem, dispite credit card dispute process.
They are most untrusting dishonest people in the eye care business - glasses didn't fit right - tried to adjust them 3 times - said they guarantee the fit - waste of time and money - I would rather go blind then deal with these crooks!
