I went to visionworks in Taylors,SC, to see if they could repair my son's glasses which the puppy took outside and mangled. They were friendly and acknowledged my entrance; my glasses were given to the manager, Kevin, who examined them and said he would try his best to repair them. He worked on them with different tools for a long time and did a fantastic job! I was so pleased! And did not even charge me--amazing! This is The Best shop for glasses I have ever found or used. Great job, Kevin!
Coupon for 50% off. Presented it, was told, prescription was over 1 year old. Coupon denied. Coupon did not state prescription requirement.
My insurance company gave me the green light as far as my coverage with Visionworks. So I go, have exam stating I wanted both a contact & eyeglass prescription. After sitting in a frenzied waiting room, I saw Dr Jin Qian. Could she have gone any faster than the dizzying pace she took with me? I don't think so - very poor exam with absolutely no feedback. Contacts not available, glasses prescription was for readers only, not bifocals as recommended by previous ophthalmologist. She couldn't even tell me if contact prescription would be right for she "bumped up" script and said to wait 2 weeks for samples to come in. The worst part of all was when I was told I did not have coverage but was considered " out of network ". Seems every Visionworks is independently owned and I did have coverage in next town over (20 miles). Folks, please don't think you are saving any money by using their coupon flyers or the fact this business is everywhere. They are pure and simply scammers and the disarray & nastiness of this Murfreesboro, TN location should have been the tip off. Why wasn't I told my benefits were only good at another Visionworks? Why was I given the bum rush when it came to an eye exam? Guess when I left I saw the 2 doctors playing with their cell phones. In all fairness there was one young male employee who attentive but that was because he was the one who took my payment. This location is BAD NEWS. So many more honorable eye doctors in Murfreesboro, TN. Please don't let this place get you too. I usually don't comment on bad experiences, but this location needs serious attention by its owner.
We've been going to the Visionworks in Arlington Hts IL, for many years and receiving excellent care by the staff, especially Alyssa and Dr. Bunchuk.
Very Thankful!

I called and made an appointment for an eye exam a week prior to my 4p.m. Appointment today. When I got there, I signed in as asked and waited, I was ten minutes early. People kept getting called for their appointments and I was still waiting to be called in for my scheduled eye exam. At 4:10 p.m. I was wondering why they hadn't called me so I went up to the desk and the lady said sorry she forgot about me. She gave me these papers to fill out. About five more minutes later she told me oh no we don't take this insurance(when I made the appointment I made sure that they took my insurance). Anyway she said I could just pay for it and I agreed. I didn't have enough cash in my wallet so I said I would pay with the debit card. But what a nighmarr that was-for like a half hour I kept sliding in this way that way putting it in and waiting etc etc and three of the ladies behind the desk were trying to get this thing done. A line was buillding up behind me and people giving me dirty looks. Finally one of them said it's not me it's their system went down. So she said she will try it in the "back" and disappeared. Another 5 to 10 minutes went by and I was still waiting. Needless to say it was a huge cluster... and I got nothing accomplished. The lady never came back out from the back trying to accomplish the task. I told the remaining lady I am going to pass on this now and find another place that will take my insurance-or actually accepts my payment for a damn eye exam.
They were excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. The doctor was amazing very thorough. The best Optometrist i have been to in a long time!
I went to the VisionWorks in Frankfort, KY for a standard eye test and new glasses. First, they try to sell you items deceitfully. I was ordered bifocals and they talked me into "digital lenses" which I was told meant the bifocal would go from one side to the other so you aren't missing any text. This was incorrect and when I picked up my glasses and noticed this was not true, the person who sold them to me gave me shrugged shoulders because he didn't have bifocals - he just knew people liked them. Also, I was sold "smudge-proof" and when I went back in, the manager said it wasn't smudge-proof, just dirt resistant. I have to return my glasses 4 times to get the bifocals in the right place so I could see without getting nauseous. These are the worst glasses I have ever had. I couldn't return them because my insurance was already processed and going to a new place would cost more because of the benefits taken at VisionWorks. My son got regular glasses (no bi) and his glasses are fine. I wholeheartedly do not recommend VisionWorks if you have bifocals or anything difficult about your prescription. After my third trip in, they had my vision checked to make sure the prescription was right and the Doctor treated me poorly as if I was questioning his ability.
Co pays not as advertised, OD's charge more and retailers few and far between!. Participate at own risk.
Glasses were purchased through Visionwork because of my cataract surgery and the benefit. The store clerk when I was buying them seemed not to know what to do and kept asking another coworker.
I feel I was given the wrong information on what I truely was responsible. I've been given the run around by billing office since Jan 2022. Billing office has closed 4 tickets, says they emailed me twice. NEVER received an email. Won't honor the Medicare Eob and what I understood from the store clerk what I owed on. I agree I owe the $120.00 from how the store clerk told me. Found out I over paid $200.00 when I received the EOB. I was told by Ramon I'd be getting additional refund. Months later never received. Billing office says it's my job to refile, which it's not. If they don't honor my understanding of what I owe per the Eob, they need to refile with the correct information. HELLO, I don't have that information! So how do I refile? They need to refile and train their staff on not to give wrong information. They DO NOT HONOR WHAT THEY SAY! (Store clerk when getting glasses and billing person, Ramon.)
Had an appointment at the King of Prussia, PA store scheduled for Saturday, 19 Feb 22. On Thursday, they called and said they "overbooked" and would I be willing to change my appointment. I said yes and rescheduled for Monday, 21 Feb 22. When I arrived, I was told that I missed my appointment on Saturday and that they did not know when they could see me. I explained what happened and the person in charge said they were having computer problems. However, she did acknowledge speaking to me. What really grinded my gears was when a family of four walked in behing me and stated they are there for their appointment and were told to have a seat and the doctor will be with them. This was not right. After asking the person in charge, she said there is nothing she could do. My advice, go to a regular eye doctor, not a chain like this place. They will NEVER have my or my familiy's business EVER AGAIN. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Also, the personnel turnover, except for thedoctor is high... that should also tell you something!
I have had a nightmare experience at Visionworks starting in August 2022 until May 2023. I first had an exam for new prescription glasses by Minh-Tam Nguyen, an optician in a N. Virginia store and had progressive lenses fitted in a new frame. The glasses had never felt right and in November 2022, I went back to the store and they determined the measurement of the progressive transition was incorrect and they also recommend I change the frame to one with nose tips. This did not seem to make much difference as I was still struggling to see at a distance clearly. I had a detailed eye exam by an ophthalmologist in April 2023 who revealed that the eye glass prescription was a poor fit, especially my left eye but my eye condition had not worsened significantly since my last in July 2022. I then returned to Visionworks to request a redo of the prescription and to get new lenses. I was told I had to see the same optician Minh-Tam Nguyen who did the original exam for a re-check but she was now at a different location. I went to the new location to see her but she flatly refused to see me for a re-check. Angry and frustrated after I was told by the front desk person that they could not give me a free re-check because it was past 3 months, I would now have to pay for a new exam even though I had purchased the insurance coverage they offered for defects and breakage. At this point, an assistant named Venessa stepped in and offered an evaluation of the eye glass lenses again and determined one needed some different "rotation" and ordered new lenses. Needless to say, this did not solve the problem. I then went to different eye doctor/practice for an independent exam and purchased new glasses which totally solved the problem. His remarks were that the Visionworks prescription was far off from what it should have been. I have concluded that Visionworks is a company with horrible customer service and Minh-Tam Nguyen is the most incompetent optician I have ever encountered. I will not be going back there in the future and would recommend people stay away from this company.
Customer service 0. The employees are not willing to help at all. Visionwork, hire people that want to do their job!
I paid a fortune for cheap $#*! frames and they can't adjust them. The prescription isn't right. I am out a thousand dollars for crap! Beware!
Ordered glasses a month ago called numerous times finally asked for a refund the manager acted like i was the blame.
I went to queens near the queen mall location and all employees care less about customers
I hates the place
I went for my annual eye exam, ordered 2 pairs of glasses, 1 sunglass (Distance only) and 1 progressive (Deluxe). I received a text that my glasses were in. (I went to the Centereach New York store) I went to ick up glasses, the sunglass where fine, the progressives I could not see out of my left eye, only to find out that there was no prescription in that eye. Now I schedule an appointment to redo my eye exam with the doctor.
She retests and sure enough there should have been a prescription for my left eye. So they re-ordered my progressive glasses. I received a test that they were in. I go pick them up, after about 1 hr of them looking for the correct pair. The distance part was now corrected, but the reading part seemed off, but I took them and thought maybe I needed to get used to them. After a few weeks I return to the store, as they just seemed off. So now they check the measurements, and they seem off, they remeasure me and reorder the glasses again. I received a text that they are ready. I go to pick them up and they reordered the glasses with the very 1st prescription that was incorrect. After sitting there another hour with them trying to find the correct prescription in the computer, I had to leave. So Now I have a pair of glasses that I can't use. I would like to be refunded what I paid for them.

Worst experience in my 40+ years of buying/ordering glasses. Insensitive staff and useless. Didn't help me when I was purchasing my frames but just pointed me to the section where to look. My 2 pairs of glassed took close to 2 months to arrive in the store. I had to send emails and get in contact with someone form their corporate office to find out what was taking my order so long. Then when the glasses did arrive in the store I went to pick them up and they pretty much just handed them to me and that's it. They didn't fit them to my face, make sure the prescription was correct and that I could see with them without any problems. I only use my glasses when I'm home since I use contacts all other times. After using my glasses for about a week I noticed the fit was causing me my head to ache and my vision wasn't as sharp as it should be like it is when wearing my older pair of glasses. I attemped to contact the person who reached out to me from their corporate office but when he answered the phone he told me he was to busy to take my call and would call me back, which NEVER HAPPENED!
Again, I have been purchasing glasses all my life and in the past have used companies like lens crafters, pearle vision and even a few independent stores, and I HAVE NEVER HAD a more horrible experience then I had with vision works.
Tip for consumers:
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AT THIS BUSINESS

If you can find another location another eye doctor to get an eye exam and customer service visionworks is not the one to go to find someplace else
Eye exam followed by glasses for me and contacts / glasses for my daughter. Numerous issues lead to us leaving after the eye exam without success.

Their clinicians are unimaginable sloppy and dirty. If you need to order anything from them forget it.
They have a lot of excuses but that is about it. Why doesn't someone answer the phone? We r so busy.
Tip for consumers:
How useless vision works is no one answers the phone, or online chat, even in the store they have a lot of excuses but that is about it. "I don't embrace excuses I embrace solutions" I was there expecting my wife's glasses but instead I got excuses like oh "we are so busy" "we have a new system" "the order it got mixed up" I told them I expect $10 per day money back for each day these glasses aren't here it's already up to $70 and she agreed. The manager will help you with that good where is he?

Went to Waterworks location in Pgh. Got my glasses and kept complaining that I couldn't see out of them. So it was suggested I go w a lighter frame. So I goto the one in Monroeville bcse the original. Didn't have what I wanted. They also retested me. Then I selected the ones I wanted and goto get them and they put the script in the original frame and then couldn't find the one I selected. Then it was some weird thing going on where it showed I returned the cheaper frame, I e. The new frame I had just selected and purchased the original frame I returned. And she had created a 2bd profile for me. But anyways bcse she prcsd it wrong the new ones were sold. I ended up selecting another frame and just paid cash. Then had to go bk to the 1st one to be refunded. I thing goto Walmart to have them do the lenses. Still could not see out the bifocals. Mind you I had also purchased just reg glasses for distance at the same time at VW and they were ok. FF this year bcse of insurance chgs I was able to get tested again and get new glasses. So I goto Pearl. She informs me that my original script for my left eye the info was missing. And that is why I couldn't see. But VW after 2 exams didn't catch this and Walmart didn't either. I feel even though it's been a year that I should be compensated for my co-pay for the new ones.

Anita at the centereach office was very rude and lacks customer service skills. She may benefit from additional patient experience training.
