Walgreens has a rating of 2.1 stars from 773 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Walgreens most frequently mention customer service, next day, and store manager problems. Walgreens ranks 3rd among Pharmacy sites.
When im in a hurry I can place an online order and its ready within 30 minutes. Most locations have the drive up area and wait time varies. Thing may cost a little more but there is never a hassle getting to items or in stock or in check out.
If I could give them 0 stars I would. Last month I submitted a new script & told it was early. They'd remind me when it could be filled. For weeks I keep getting reminders saying I have a prescription that needs a refill. They probably discarded the early prescription. Another prescription was out of stock without giving me a hint when it would be restocked. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAD HAPPENED. The right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing.
I typically do not take the time to write a review such as this. However in this case I was so disappointed that I felt compelled to do so. I had a simple prescription I needed refilled My doctor is located about 30 miles away but I live just a few minutes from Walgreens. For some reason this was an issue. After several minutes of discussion the pharmacy staff agreed to process. But no, the insurance card I had was missing some code so no good. That was resolved but now they needed additional information about my medical history- for what reason I was not told after asking. Then the boss said I needed to go to a pharmacy near my doctor. This made no sense to me so I wanted to discuss further but was interrupted by the pharmacist and bluntly told she was NOT going to fill, go elsewhere. I know this seems like something is missing in the story but it is not. I was embarrassed being spoken to like this in front of her staff and other customers. Needless to say I shall never step inside a Walgreens again if my life depended on it

Walgreens will not take your coupon and charge you FULL price. No mercy being disabled
I can't find anything in writing nor will the corporate office confirm

Case in point: a few days ago I went to refill three prescriptions. Just a few of the problems:. Would not let me change credit card info. After entering order, site hung. Checked activity list a few minutes later and no order entered. No email received. Tried to re-enter order. Same result. No way to email them about their problems. For hours and hours, their "24/7" Chat said agents busy. Next day I get email from them saying "insurance problems" with the order. No way to contact expect to phone. No email. No chat. Then a "your order has shipped" email comes in! I borrow a phone and call local store. Takes forever to get a person. They cancel the order, as I request. Hooray. Next day, I get more insurance problem emails and if I don't contact them the order will be cancelled. I don't call again. Next day they ship the orders anyway!
Talk about messing up on the basics. (And yes, I moved my prescriptions to another pharmacy. Too bad because I enjoyed interacting with the local store staff.)
Tip for consumers:
Don't ... walk to the store instead.

I use these guys all of the time. They provide a fast delivery service and have lots of different products. The site is a little slow sometimes, but part from that they are awesome.

Don't pick this pharmacy because you'll have a Difficult time getting your prescription on time and they Won't tell you when they close early. I've had more problems with this pharmacy than any other

Of course I don't know what kind of systems, protocols or assorted head-office-related trash the techs and pharmacists go through. Whenever I call, I try to keep that in mind. However, suburban stores of this chain never get a prescription right.
Want a common, non-controlled drug? On back order. Try again in 14 days--7 days after you've gone through your supply.
Need a controlled substance prescription? They'll run the generic brand on your insurance, then not try anything else if it gets rejected. You call to get it run through properly, under the brand name drug, and it will take them another three days to fill it. Then the following month you can do the same thing all over again, just like you've done for the last year.
Use the app? Best of luck getting anything filled within 48 hours, even post-operative pain medication.
Call to ask why your refill request, with active refills left, has been in limbo for five days? 'There's no refills left'. Yet the doctor and their office says otherwise. Also, 'why didn't you just use the app'?
I get that they're understaffed, underpaid and it's a terrible place to work. IT problems aren't going to get resolved at the counter, they're under inventory constraints like any other business, et cetera. But please, please, PLEASE work with the people who are just trying improve their quality of life by seeking healthcare. I don't want to be a bother, but I also don't want to lose my job because of taking too many sick days between being properly medicated.

Horrible customer service with store #4197 on 8500 West Cheyenne LV NV, I had to call that pharmacy because of an issue alert in their App for my scripts and had a conversation with PHILLIP who was EXTREMELY RUDE AND SNOTTY and unfortunately that isn't the first time I've had problems with Walgreens at that location and also in South Florida. If these ARROGANT RUDE PEOPLE don't like their jobs they need to find another one AND WALGREENS NEEDS TO START ADDRESSING THESE ISSUES BECAUSE APPARENTLY THEY DON'T or they wouldn't have all of the horrible ratings online, this store as low as 2.1 and OBVIOUSLY FOR GOOD REASON. There are still MILLIONS of people out of work so I'm sure they could find employees that would do their job WITHOUT BEING IGNORANT, maybe they need to start with management because it all starts there!
Tip for consumers:
Don't expect any decent customer service, you may or may not get it!

Ever since Walgreens took over Rite Aid in Methuen Mass, the customer service at the pharmacy has tanked. It's almost as if their mission it to make it as difficult as possible to pick up a prescription or drop one off. Today I brought in a new prescription for my dog who is having seizures. I gave all the info requested. I leave and receive a call 10 mins later that I have to go back and give them my license before they will even begin to fill the script. I have been going to this pharmacy for 14 years! They know me. I ask if I can text a copy of my license or email it. No, I have to go in. I go back and all they do is write down a number from my license... where is the customer service here. I should have been able to read the number or send a copy of my license. Oh and now I'm told they don't have enough for the full script so getting one script filled will take 4 visits of waiting in a line. I asked for a flu shot a couple months ago and the pharmacist was frustrated with my request telling me she was busy restocking something. So I said I'd get another time. Next time I ask, they are all out of it. It's as if their goal is to make everyone wait as long as possible. On the off chance you go and there's no line, you can get excited thinking you'll be in and out. But nope, 6 people behind the counter and you STILL stand there for 5 mins before they ask for you. By that time, there are others waiting behind me. I live close to this pharmacy but may be switching to another pharmacy. It's awful.

I was filling my prescriptions at Walgreens on North Avenue in Grand Junction Colorado until one of the pharmacists decided he knew more than my doctor and was going to refill my necessary pain medication when he wanted to.
I told him my doctor said this was the course that was best for me, but this jackass proceeded to inform me he was a doctor as well and knew more about my health than an actual medical doctor.
He doesn't even know why I need the pain medication and just argued with me instead of listening to me. I am going to report this pharmacist to whoever I need to and work on getting him fired no matter what it takes.
I believe I'm going to contact an attorney as well to find out if I can file a lawsuit against him for interfering in my medical care.
Maybe if more of these idiots got sued, they would stop interfering.
He told me if I canceled my prescription there, I would never be able to fill another prescription with any Walgreens.
I wonder if Walgreens likes pharmacists driving their customers that make them money to different pharmacies.
I did change pharmacies because I don't take kindly to threats who think they are actual doctors.
What is he a doctor of? Did he get a medical degree from McDonald's Clown College?

Walgreens mail service received my refill order for six meds on dec. 5. They claim they filled the order on December. 6 for delivery by dec. 13.on December. 27 I called and told them I had run out of meds and the rep said they would overnite deliver. First lie. Three days pass with no meds. I call again on December. 29 and rep in effect claims they never promised overnite delivery and they would call me back in four days. Second and third lies. No call on Tuesday so I call them on Wednesday and they claim they can't fill prescription on my plan since the meds were so recently filled. I explain that I called delivery service and they say I didn't get delivery because Walgreens never placed the meds with them. Walgreens however keeps looking at their computer and seeing a pending note. I explain to them that if they would call their delivery service they would find prescriptions never reached their hands. So, they call my Dr. and get half of my prescriptions reordered and call me telling me my insurer won't cover cost since per their records I just had these meds refilled on December 5. Apparently Walgreens wants to treat an order for vital meds as having been delivered since they are too lazy to call the delivery company and too cheap to send the medications and to sort out where they screwed up in the first place. I am meanwhile at risk of heart and stroke problems and am suffering, insomnia, headaches and nausea while they continue their grossly negligent inaction and continue to lie.

Walgreens quoted me a price of $272.00 for my prescription for Risperidone. I called a locally owned pharmacy (Granite Pharmacy) and they quoted me a price of $21.00 for the exact same prescription! Walgreens is definitely commiting Medicare FRAUD by charging the government 13 times more for my medication. UNBELIEVABLE!

When I don't feel like going to a big grocery store I go to Walgreens. Walgreens stores are always supplied with basic necessary items. ALWAYS NICELY STOCKED. Representatives are always helpful online as in person. Love Walgreens.

I've ordered from drugstore.com for years and have always been happy. Their email reminders are helpful so that I can remember what I ordered and order it again.
Tip for consumers:
If your order is over the minimum for free shipping, you can split it up and possibly get a coupon for your 'next' order, but place it right away. There are always good discount coupons.

Stopped ordering from them two years ago when my order arrived literally 'frozen'. Frozen shampoo, frozen skin cleaners.
I contacted them, and they basically told me 'it's winter'.

After many delays in filling my prescription, I asked that your pharmacy department simply return my script as I would get it filled elsewhere. I took this action after being told the prescription would be ready in an hour--it was not. I was asked to be patient as it would take another 40 minutes-it wasn't ready then either; so, i waited another 30 minutes. During all of this time, no one from the pharmacy staff was at either the pick up or consultation station. They were in "the back" laughing and talking on the telephone while I wondered about the hold up. When I had enough of their inattention, I asked for my prescription to be returned as I reference in my first sentence above (It took nearly 30 minutes to get somebody with whom I could make the request.) At that time, I was inexplicably told that "Oh--it's ready." Then it took another 30 minutes for someone to come to the pick up counter to give me my order and charge me for the medication? I had to fairly yell at one of the pharmacists in "the back" to get anyone to notice me even then. During this entire experience, it was as if I was invisible. The staff at the pharmacy desk could have cared less about providing service. The person at the desk was a pharmacy technician trainee. It was apparent he had received no training.
You can write this review off as the asinine comments of a jackass. You do so at your own risk. I am trying to assist and I can't help but feeling that my experience was not an isolated one.
This blatant lapse in your customer service occurred in Portland, OR, at the Walgreens store on Caesar Chavez Blvd.

VisionDirect.com seems to have two major problems. Firstly, there is no system of inventory control on their website. When you order a product, you have no idea if they have it in stock, thus you might get your contacts in three days or two weeks. Even something simple, like - "In Stock" / "In Stock in 3 Days", etc - would go a long way to assisting customers in their buying decisions.
The next main problem, is that when you call the customer service reps (who incidentally, are readily available 24 hours a day), they have no access to inventory levels. Seriously, they are the voice of the company, and they have no access to useful information. I can only assume that's why wait times to speak to them are so short - as once you get hold of them, they have nothing useful to say.
Luckily, if you are on your last pair of contacts, leaving in a pair of Contact Lenses for a couple of weeks more is no big problem, so there is no urgent reason for VisionDirect to fix this.
Then, once VisionDirect has your order, they then like to keep shipping delays a secret. They have no system in place to pro-actively inform customers; and why should they, Customers will only bother then with tiresome questions, such as "Why do my eyes sting", and "What are these red spot appearing near my nose?'
Overall there are many better Contact Lens providers to choose from. If your eyes are important to you. You should probably shop elsewhere.
