Living out in the country has its cons! Trash pickup being one. We've been with this company since November of 2021. I have lost count of how many times I have called to report that my trash had not been picked up! What's worse is that I've been told a couple times "yes they did it's been time stamped!" As if they can't lie about going. It's been absolutely infuriating! I have auto draft for payment. It's funny how they have no problem taking payment immediately but I have to miss weeks of trash pick up! They try and screw people over with long contracts as well! By far the worst experience I've ever had!
Waste Connections bought out our original company, but we continued with them for convenience. Rates went up rather quickly. We got one quarter at senior rates. Their customer service is terrible. When we called for anything, we were on hold for 45 minutes. I discontinued auto pay when I finally terminated their service and they still charged me $23 to discontinue. They threw away two of my planters that were near (but not with) the trash. Terrible company!
Multiple missed pick ups over several weeks. Complaint calls taken by a receptionist that can't do anything. Numerous emails and calls have gone unanswered over that several weeks as well. Business plan tip, don't ignore your customers and expect them to hang around. Even the employees are frustrated and doing their best to help customers but can only do so much. Another business tip, don't buy other companies unless you know you can service all customers, new and old.
After missed pick ups we decided to cancel services and could not get anyone on the phone and apparently our attempts to cancel on the website didnt work either. The next thing we know we are getting a bill for $140.58! They havent picked up trash from our house in 2 month and are still charging us as if they have been servicing our address. After finally reaching someone on the phone I was told they would have to investigate if they had been to our house to pick up trash before issuing any credits. Fingers crossed but I dont have any hopes of a credit after speaking to a lady named Randy. Terrible experience over all!
Don't trust that they value your business or that they won't take advantage of you if given the opportunity.
$12 admin fee charged monthly for paper billing that I don't receive. But they are under no obligation to discount it so there is no refund once they realize that you shouldn't be getting that charge.
10 years of business and not once did I get a notification prior to my bill increasing. No communication that there was any way to discount my bill by signing a service agreement.
I paid for my bins to be delivered as a new homeowner and was told I would be refunded the charges if I stopped the services and returned the bins. But they don't remember that now, 10 years later.
Holiday notifications that my trash will be on a delayed pick up, it's out fail, are always received the day after pick up.
Save yourself 50% and go with waste management.
Disgusting workers doing disgusting gestures while in front of residents and children. Not once but twice. When calling to make complaints nobody calls you back in a timely matter. You have to constantly call and when you finally talk to someone they are no help and give you the run around. Supervisor Chris Miller was no help at all and refused to let me talk to anyone else and then hung up on me. When calling back to ask to talk to his higher ups they say " they can't patch me through to anyone cause Chris put in our file and told them the matter was handle and that they are only operators and can only do what one supervisor says cause that's his department… then said oh no your phone is breaking up! And hangs up. It was like talking to children! So highly unprofessional! I honestly can't believe a business can operate like this! So insane!
They do not follow their own scheduled pick up days, billing practices are questionable at best (but the billing is always on time as scheduled!), and customer service is practically impossible to contact and are of no help.
They are happy to get your money, but are the worst for customer service. They will miss and refuse to pickup your garbage for weeks. When you try to contact them, they will not respond. Stay away from this company as all cost. Any other option is better!
I have had nothing but trouble with this company since it took over my trash services. Their billing was messed up from the beginning and have called every month waiting on hold for at 30 min each time to talk to someone. When I thought it was resolved I would call again the next month because of missed trash or whatever. I paid through April and they have closed my account and claimed that I paid a past due balance. They won't refund my money and won't reinstate my account.
I have had four seperate instances when only half my trash was emptied and two different occasions that my trash wasn't picked up at all. (The second time they picked it up the next day after I called but acted like it was my fault.) This has all happened in just the last few months. I have had pretty much the exact same trash load for the last 10 years, Three bags of trash every week but only in the last few months have I had this problem. When I reported it to the company They told me to put the bag that was left in the container on the top of the pile to make sure it doesn't get stuck next week. I explained that it's not jammed in there, I can with no effort easily pick the bag up. I am NOT jam packing my trash, it's the exact same amount every week. At this point I have paid for a total of two and a half weeks of service worth of trash that has been left behind or not picked up.( That is not counting the load they picked up next day)
The customer service woman said I can put an extra bag of trash out next week and they'll pick it up for free, which doesn't help me now, but is unable to refund me for all the trash they've left behind.
So the point is, I pay full price for half the service.
Answer: It's a legit company, but they have horrible business practices. No refund for 3 weeks of non service.
