“I have designed many church websites with this host”

Brandon B.
4/28/10

I have designed many church websites with this host. They are great, provide 24/7 online chat service and MANY different templates and backgrounds to choose from. Nice thing with this host is that you won't have to be set in stone with a certain template. Your site can be very dynamic with background audio, youtube videos, etc. Really for the price this has everything you could ever want for a web host. 5 stars!

“Terrible waste of money”

This website is fairly easy to use but the support is non existent, dont run a business from here or you will loose money, webs.com really dont care, I quote"lets hope your problem self heals" also dont get sucked in buying add ons that are free with other sites.

Have had 2 free and 1 premium site on webs for years now. Easy to use, good graphics and you don't have to be a programmer or cyber geek to get your site looking great. Competitive pricing on services + human beings on the tech end make them a good hosting experience.

I pay for two websites. Today I sent them a ticket for a problem, and they have not even acknowledged receiving it. I have problem after problem trying to use this website. Today I wanted to change a theme--but the themes won't display. They have gone from okay to bad to deplorable. Every improvement... hasn't been... it has just made everything worse. I am getting out as soon as I decide who to go with next. They will get no more of my $$$$$. They are not even worth even a penny of your money.

We used webs.com for our businesses and our church, it was pretty good at first. Over the last 10 years it has gone rapidly downhill. Repeated announced changes to sitebuilder and features resulted in a lot of downtime. Most of the best features are gone now for no good reason and support is unapologetic and not very useful. It is not easy to migrate sites away if webs.com holds your domain, otherwise we would move. Users tried a major petition drive to restore original features but it was ignored. There are lots of good alternatives now that weren't around when we started, pick one of those!

Site was down yesterday, and still down today. Can't revise existing web pages because the "pages" page won't open up to allow edits. I would move my site to another provider, if the pain of doing it wasn't so high.

We have been using webs for years with a premium account and it used to be a good value for a decent price. Not anymore. It has become impossible to upload files, to edit files, to get anyone from tech support to give you an idea how long they might need to fix the problem - oh yes, they admit to having one, which doesn't help much either. The whole service has become so terrible that I would love to give it MINUS 10 stars.

Our website's credit card changed. We forgot to update it. Instead of an email re the issue, they shut off our website. I discovered it when I tried to access it.
No phone number for cus serv or chat. Only email. That has been taking several days between responses. They are closed on the weekends. They claim the site works, but no one outside their company can access it. The homeless in our city depend on our website, about which I told webs. They still have done nothing to resolve the problem.

Was okay (ish) for most of the time we had the free version, but needing greater storage we 'upgraded' to 'Premium' and now have a worse service!
Calendar will not update the 'Upcoming Events' on the home page properly. We have some events coming through, but not all. Customer service has been useless! Never thought upgrading would lead to a worse service!

They took my money and after few days said I was spamming. I lost all my customers and income as no one could send me mails. They stopped my email service. Without that I cannot run my business. Customer support has scripted responses and available for few hours only. This is just a company having a site builder tool which is ancient. Never expected this from their parent company Vistaprint.

I have been trying to get our website back up for a few weeks now. A few months ago they shut us down saying we didn't pay. They brought us back up only to shut us down one more time. I have spent numerous hours trying to get this resolved. I even had our bank contact a representative and sent them copies of our bank statements to prove we paid. It's pitiful that it takes weeks and nothing gets resolved and no one will call you back or reply to emails.

You will not find a glitchier site editor than this one. Every edit these days just goes back to the same, "Error please refresh the page". It's next to impossible to make a good-looking website with it.

You need to be careful about their billing options; they are not clearly spelled out, and, of course, they err on the side of getting more money from you.

Customer service is only fair; I depend on my site, and it has now taken over a day to resolve a problem that jeopardizes my website. People whom I know are telling me something is wrong. Meanwhile, of course, people who don't know me are probably thinking, "This website is not worth anything."

Thank you for your feedback Eliot. Sorry you feel that way. Do you have any suggestions on how to improve our billing options?

Horrible. Haven't been able to edit my site in three years without three computers. Now I can't at all. Staff help is non existent. Call here, email there no one knows anything. Then they tell you to email here and you get a blanket email back how they are looking into it, nothing, you call, they tell you they have it and they are waiting for your response. Response to what? An email that says don't email back? So I do, several times. Still nothing. Then try to tell me it went to spam. No I'm looking at it. Then want me to make a new email? Seriously? And then ask me to take a survey on their service!? I've done many through the years. I've learned that is to passifying us into thinking they care. Do NOT use this company. Nothing but a headache
And yeah when you can't get on your site all you get is contact live chat LOL

Webs.com sudden I could not be opened. It was very disappointing to use. webs.com. Never - time spent just create a website in webs.com, look for the others because there are many.

Webs.com should be shut down. This is an untrustworthly company that will at a moment when you least expect it take your web content on what you think is your site and do what I am not sure. They give you no notice and then put something damaging about your site in place of when someone searches for your site. I encourage you to use another site and keep a copy of your content and remember that at any time they could keep your content and when people search for you they may find damaging or be mislead at the min about you when infact you have done nothing wrong. I am not saying they took a bribe from one of my competitors to remove my site. There are better options is all I am saying just my opinion.

I had several websites with them and they shut down one which was the one that allowed me access into all of them. Now I cannot get into any of my sites. They won't answer emails either. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone.

I have used webs in the past when they were freewebs, and loved them. I recently created a new site that was immediately frozen for a violation of terms. I sent e-mails to the abuse address, and have only gotten a canned answer. I am just looking to find out what terms I supposedly violated so that I can fix it. I literally created the site and a quick landing page, and it was frozen. Just looking for real help, and haven't been able to get it

I've had a website with Webs.com for many years-before they were Webs.com when they were Freewebs. I never ever had any problems before they switched over. Since becoming Webs.com I've had so many issues.
Right now I don't even have an active website and can't get ahold of anyone to assist me. I renewed my domain name but Web.com won't accept it anymore-after having the same one all of this time.
I tried to get in contact with support via email, chat or phone- and the website will not give you the contact information unless you pay to be a premium member. This is the single most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of.

Tip for consumers:
Don't do it

The site never work, the reps always blame you instead of themselves, and when you provide them screenshots, they ignore you and lock the topic you're trying to talk to them in. Oh, and to speak to a live agent, you must be a paying person. If not, get ignored.

I've been using webs since the freewebs days and was always happy with it. Recently, I lost the editing ability on my photos (unable to resize) so figured it was because I needed to upgrade. Since upgrading, in order to publish, I need to go through the "i am not a robot" thing. However, when the box comes up, it resizes itself to a thin strip so there is no way to see the content in the box. This happens in Firefox, Chrome, Edge and on my phone.

Basically, I can no longer publish pages and there is absolutely no tech support.

Time to build another website elsewhere!

They renewed my website without authorization. They state I was sent emails asking if I wanted to cancel the site and that is completely not true. Tried to contact customer service... almost impossible. There was no where on my site settings to cancel my service.

Renewed my service, then a month later i find out my domain name expired and my website disappeared for good. Webs claim they sent notices telling me the domain was separate from their services and expiring. Not true. Didnt receive anything. I wondered what I was paying them for since without the domain i built for 2 years I had nothing. Thanks to them my whole site and following was wiped out. Told them to cancel services. They just automatically took 99 dollars from Pay Pal again a year later. Unauthorized stealing is what it is. No customer service line. Pure scamming.

I forgot to update my new credit card so when it supposed to be renewal for my domain they just took it. So when I realize my website doesnt work after 3 weeks I was told to pay $1500 for each domain and they can let me have it back. Real crooks! Stay away. Unless you looking to be out of business.
