“I have designed many church websites with this host”

Brandon B.
4/28/10

I have designed many church websites with this host. They are great, provide 24/7 online chat service and MANY different templates and backgrounds to choose from. Nice thing with this host is that you won't have to be set in stone with a certain template. Your site can be very dynamic with background audio, youtube videos, etc. Really for the price this has everything you could ever want for a web host. 5 stars!

“Terrible waste of money”

David D.
10/18/19

This website is fairly easy to use but the support is non existent, dont run a business from here or you will loose money, webs.com really dont care, I quote"lets hope your problem self heals" also dont get sucked in buying add ons that are free with other sites.

Been with them for a number of years - PREMIUM USER - what a joke. I cannot invite new members to my site. I get a generic response "we are working on the problem" - how and why does a company do something like this? A JOKE

This company has a poor communication system. Email and live chat are it's only communication format and the people behind they scenes are unable to provide anything other than automated responses. Our group is wanting to transfer our domain away from this company and the EPP code does not transfer through Webs.com automated system. They have ignored our requests to contact the hosting company ENOMS who has the ability to manually send it to us, but needs webs.com permission. So in essence, Webs.com is holding our domain hostage and it is scheduled to expire in 4 days. The corporate headquarters in Maryland publishes telephone numbers, but when dialed, both ring as fax numbers. There is no way to speak to a live human being. We have been trying to resolve our issue for over a month and we are sick and tired of trying to deal with this inadequate company.

Is there no authority who can stop these sites from using tick boxes. While using the web for purchasing or information you only have to miss ticking or unticking a box for someone to pass your contact details on. While it is easy to stop unwanted e mail it is harder to stop unwanted postal mail.

Renewed 5 days ago via Paypal. Payment taken and my Webs account recognises the renewal has been made BUT I have a big red notice plastered across my web site that the subscription hasn't been renewed...
You cannot contact them by chat or phone support unless you pay them extra. You can only contact them by email... and then wait for days for an automatic reply ignoring what you told them in the first place. Woeful
Second BAD review I've had to write about these people
I would very strongly recommend to not use them based on my continued BAD EXPERIENCES

Webs.com is horrible and I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy! As someone who is not web savy, their "its easy to create your webpage" is false advertisement. Sure, use their template and you're fine but when you try to add content its all over the place with formatting issues. I as a user wouldn't know that I shouldn't cut and paste from Word to my webpage and only months later do I get an answer to my issue.

Customer service is a joke and they have had on going problems on their end for months with no resolution. I along with other paid out good hard earned money on a company to host our website but Webs doesn't hold up their end of their bargain. I gave them a 1 star rating but truthfully I'd really like to give them a negative 100! I'm sure I am not alone in this assessment of their services.

I am looking for a new company to host my page. If I were you, look elsewhere and don't buy into their lines about how good their company is or you'll regret it!

This was a HUGE waste of money. I have had this site almost a whole year now (only a month more on my contract). The Help Center was extremely UNHELPFUL, and the whole site was hard to use and was not user friendly. I tried to figure out one problem for over two months and contacted the Webs Help Center to help me figure out how to fix the problem. Not only were they very slow in responding, I had a different person respond to me each email, and at the end of it all they couldn't even help me and referred me to contact a different site for help. This was a BIG waste of my money. Definitely NOT a good experience. I can't believe how bad Webs was! I kept thinking it must be my fault that I was having issues, but the same problem that took me over two months to figure out (which I never did figure out) took me all of two hours on a different domain site.

Webs.com have really gone down the pan in the past year. Constant website freeze, websites disappear, and no customer help service. Find a UK or European web provider instead.

I have been with them since 2011 they failed to renew my domain registration even though i had paid for it this caused the google landing page to be accessed by a Chinese gambling company who blanket buy expired domain names to access google
Google banned me for terms and conditions violations, you cannot reason with Google you cannot talk and explain anything to them there an out of control monolith who should be reigned in by government agencies to make it a level playing field for the small operator
All Webs did was slyly refund the domain fee several months later, i lost my major advertising source and substantial income
I went down the legal avenue, the bottom line is if your in Australia use local web companies

I recently purchased a starter pack and domain name for my website using webs.com and now I CAN NOT sign in because webs does not recognize my EMAIL! I have messaged them repeatedly over and over again and they have not responded. I paid for a 1-year domain name, so if they do not FIX this, I'm going to have to take legal action.

I have been a premium member for over 6 years... there has always been issues, but usually get resolved.
In late October, there was a serious issue, and many websites have been rendered useless... and not free sites, the paid ones.
Going on 2 months now, with my site not usable, I have tried every avenue to get a response from Webs---- EMAIL, CHAT, 2 FACEBOOK PAGES AND THEIR SUPPORT PAGE... nothing.
They have gone from a decent company, to a shameful company that has ZERO support for paying customers.

At one time Webs.com was fun, now it's a bloody nightmare. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, IT IS A VISTA PRINT PRODUCT AND IT IS GARBAGE. Over a year now nothing but ongoing problems AND ISSUES and downed wewbsite, and features disappearing, and functions not working, glitches, and site not loading. It has wasted hundreds of hours of my time trying to get help, and getting none. Support is non existent, Chat support can't help with anything. These guys are total bozos, and don't know how to fix a damn thing...

Any company would be better than this one. Sadly I am stuck with it.

I am a high school German teacher. I rely on my webs.com hosted website for my classroom. Instead of being able to keep my students working and motivated in class, I have to tell them flat out that my website is down for the day or longer, and that we need to use paper copies of the work we are completing. (www.cashgerman.com)

I also run a non-profit business called the Pennsylvania Equality Project. I have been unable to update the page to the degree I would like several times over the past few months. Every time I go to either page for updates, I am reminded that webs will be updating their servers on 9/20/17 from about 2 hours. I don't need the constant reminder of what they plan to do for me in several days. I want some answers about why my pages keep getting DNS errors. I am paid up through February on my German site, and through mid-October on my non-profit page. When these agreements each expire, I am moving my business to another website hosting platform. Goodbye Webs. You won't be getting any more money from me.

If I could I would give Webs.com ZERO stars
They have gone from a half decent hoster at reasonable prices (still useless support) many years ago to a hoster that is far more expensive, less features and still woeful support
AVOID AT ALL COSTS - see my review below for more details -

I raised a support ticket 48 hours ago regarding a problem and replied to the email from Webs support 11 hours ago. I have now submitted 6 requests to their support
THE PROBLEM STILL REMAINS...
I still have other web sites with Webs but are now very seriously considering hosting them all elsewhere
Webs support has always been woeful in trying to resolve
Issues both in terms of time and resolution Initially (many years ago) the hosting cost was cheaper and the hosting had more useful build qualities. They are not cheap any more but the chat support you have to now pay for
My experience is based upon having hosted (and still have hosted with them) several web sites with them for longer than 10 years

Tip for consumers:
My tip for people thinking of using Webs is simple - DON'T - unless you want to waste lots of time and more money

Horrible. No customer service. I had to do a research to find their phone number even though they stated on the site that I need to speak to a rep in order to get my refund for THEIR UNAUTHORIZED WITHDRAWAL from my funds. My institution will reverse the payment and refund the money that they stole. Btw, anyone needing to call them, it is *******285 and also sign up for gethuman.com/call-back/Webs-com ti talk to a human being. After getting my refund I am done with them forever. Please find another website hosting company. At least one with a legitimate contact info offered on the site. This one has zero customer service. I just fell upon this url and it explains why Webs.com has no customer service and all of the unauthorized automatic payments made them. The site is owned by Vista Print and Vista Print chooses not to maintain the site. It is simply on auto pilot. NO ONE WORKS THERE ANYMORE accept a few virtual assistants that do not know anything about the product and can not solve any problems because they are not the problem solvers. Vista Print is and they do not want to be bothered with the problems of webs.com, just interested in getting money from the automated unaturhorized/. STOLEN money. Therefore, I will no longer be using Vista Print either. Here''s the site: www.sitebuilderreport.com/webs-review

Hi,
My problems with webs.com continue.
After two years of terrible support and site issues, now I found out that I can not disable the option "auto renew", which automatically takes my money each year.
I want to disable this account and I want my money back. I wrote to their support, but I am not expecting anything.

PS:
Here is their answer:

***************WEBS ANSWER
Welcome to Webs Billing Support.

From your email I gather your payment account was charged for services which are no longer required. I truly apologize for this inconvenience and I will be happy to assist you.

My records indicate that the automatic renewal of your domain name (...) was enabled which resulted in the renewal for one year at the cost of $29.95.

We do try to prevent unwanted renewals by alerting our customers as such notification emails are sent 90, 60, 45, 30, 15, and 1 day before we process the renewal of the domain name.

I really wish I could grant your request for a refund of the domain renewal fee; however, I am unable to as our Webs.com Domain Registration terms of service outlines that domain names and domain related services are non-refundable.

To prevent any further automatic renewals, I have scheduled your domain name to be canceled at the end of the current billing period; January 2,2016. As such, no further charges will be applied to your payment account for this subscription.

I again apologize for any inconvenience caused. Please do not hesitate to respond to this email should you have additional questions or concerns
**********************END OF WEBS ANSWER

As you see, this is not an appropriate behaviour.
