“Webstarts makes web design simple, beautiful, and affordable.”

iRobot R.
6/3/17

I've worked with many website design sites over the last two decades comparing them all. One or the other would not do something important that I needed when it comes to running a radio station website as coding can be very technical. I found webstarts years ago and it was the most complete and easiest web designing website I could find. I even use it to do most my own art and edit my images. I had left for wordpress for about 2 years, which can be very complicated, but webstarts technology and updates now have me going back to webstarts. It's just too easy to use, most tools are common sense. It's as simple as copy and pasting and having fun to see what all I can do. They have really come a long way and I would very highly recommend them.

“Don't worry about the 5 year "locking in before a price...”

Robert A.
7/10/13

Don't worry about the 5 year "locking in before a price increase" - they've been saying that for almost a year and will probably never do it. It's a scare tactic they use to sucker people afraid to lose their website. As for 50% off "special", they've never NOT had that sell and have always charged regular price - feel free to check back everyday to see the sale "has extended." - Don't bother calling support unless you want to be sold something too - their technical support is really nothing more than a way to sell you something else.

A couple years ago I was in need of an easy site builder to not only build my own personal website, but to build sites for a couple of my friends, since I'm the only one thats good with a computer. I ended up sticking with webstarts, their prices were great, customer service was very personable, and they made it easy for me to build numerous sites which now enables me to have customers and maintain their websites for them. At the end of the day, choosing webstarts was a great choice.

I had started a website on webstarts but then started wondering about them... They seemed like they wanted your money. Sent me gobs of emails (that went to my spam). They have sales that they say that will end soon (within that day) if you don't take action but weeks later the sales are still going. Through emails they threatened to delete my website if i didn't upgrade. The upgrade feature does not upgrade much even when you pay. They have a very powerful website builder but it would be way better if they were honest.
These were my thoughts before I read reviews on Site Jabber. After reading the reviews and with my own conclusions I am ready to step away from webstarts and I cannot recommend them as a reliable company. I am not trying to bash them, this is just the truth. Maybe they could make a change for the better with God...

Your site makes it possible for a "average computer dude" to build a reasonable effective beginning website (http://branches-burls.webstarts.com/). Having your WebStarts Knowledge page just a clip away is most helpful. And I felt very "supported" by your personal e-mail etc. Thank you.

Webstarts is a great website builder for beginnners/intermediate. It's growing fast and has a great platform to build on. The drag and drop editor has many features and allows you to place content anywhere on any page, unlike other drag and drop editors that have fixed content locations.

My only negative mark on this site is that they will nickel and dime you to death. They charge extra for most features that others consider basic. When you upgrade, don't bother with the Pro plan. It's completely pointless, takes your money, and gives hardly any extra features than the free plan.

Go with the Pro+ plan that gives you more. You're still going to have to pay more for things like a shopping cart, website statistics (used to be free but they make you pay now), and some other features.

Overall a good editor, but still has room to improve.

I was very hesitant to use this product based on the reviews I had read. But for $7/month I said "what do I have to loose?"... and I'm glad I did.

The Software is Stupid Simple to use, I got through to customer service in literally 30 seconds and Johnny went above and beyond to answer any/all questions I had and was very user friendly. In fact, I had actually purchased $130 in services that I didn't need and he told me same and immediately reversed the charges.

As to email support,,,,,, well, that took 48 hours for a response. However, the response was very thorough and well thought out.

Personally, I am very happy with their product and support.

I just got billed 39.96 by Webstarts.com without any warning or notice. I had forgotten that I signed up with them last year on May 5,2010. On April 6,2011, I received notice that a deduction had been made from my checking account. Not only did I not receive any notice giving me the option of not renewing, they took the money from my account after 11 months - not a full year. These people are parasites, living off of those of us who had forgotten they even existed. This is equivalent to theft. Stay away from these people. I couldn't even tell you the last time I got an email from them, that says their support isn't that great either. If I'm supposed to be a member, you would think they would at least provide some kind of notice or correspondence. I have reported them to the BBB and submitted a complaint to the SCC.

Why is Webstarts not working again?! I can't get on their site or my own! What is going on? I called their # and it is a message saying no one is available to take your call and it hangs up. Is the servers down? Otherwise I love how easy it is to design the site and how creative I can be with designing my own look from scratch. It's just this is not the first time I couldn't get in my site. It's very frustrating I've put so much time in this site and I don't know what is going on or if my site is gone? So my review is the web design great! But is it reliable?

Webstarts is the best scam I have ever come accross. There is no need making an attempt to try them. They are worth nothing. They promise only what they cannot do and trust me, if you ever make a mistake and you are thinking of re-imbursement of some funds, forget it because it will never happen.
They won't respond to your mails, and they will not attend to your calls. They are just a mere $#*!!

My contract with webstarts was to supposed to end on Dec. 19 2012 one of my customers called and said my site was not up and running. I got an e-mail from webstarts and they agreed that my site was good until Dec. 19,2012 webstarts closed it anyway since I e-mailed them saying I was going to close it out on Dec. 15,2012. This company wanted me to sign up with them for 5-years-that was a red flag with me. Westarts will try and bluff you throgh e-mail to make there case, well they have no case on this one. I would not recommond this company to anyone, period.

We had some hurdles to get over but WE DID IT TOGETHER! That's what makes a great company. There are issues no matter who you are working with, but IT'S THE OUTCOME THAT MATTERS. Now I'm encouraged that no matter what comes up, it can be crossed with confidence that together WE'LL WIN! After all, WHEN BOTH SIDES WIN, WHAT ELSE IS THERE! Thanks Guys

Having used WEBSTARTS to create, edit and maintain a site for our local pool leagues for 7+ years speaks for itself. WEBSTARTS offers free Web pages you can create and for a bigger site and more options you can purchase a package for a very reasonable price. Any time I've ever had a problem with a page I contact them and POOF! It's fixed. I highly recommend WEBSTARTS! Check it out at webstarts.com

I knew nothing about building a website. I thought that I had to know HTML and other associated programs. Lets just say that I'm not a wiz when it comes to computers. I kept seeing ads for this WebStarts.com, and how easy it is to make your own website, without programming knowledge! I was looking for a webmaster to make my site, most were pretty pricey. I wanted to see what this WebStarts.com was all about, and if the webmasters (that were trying to get me as a client) were telling me the truth; about the difficulties of making and managing a webpage. WebStarts.com has simplified webpage making. They give you so much freedom to make the website you want, with simple user-friendly drag-n-drop tools. I don't feel limited or intimidated. I even learned some simple HTML tricks that the "pros" do. Whenever I got stuck doing something I'd contact their Support team, and let me tell you these guys are masters at their craft. The free version sold me, when I purchased a plan (which was very reasonable) I was rewarded with more toys (design tools) to play with! WebStarts.com is the real deal, I'm a real custom/client and I am very pleased with their product and business. I highly recommend you try it, you won't be disappointed.

Webstarts online performance is very sporadic; their customer service is super slow, impersonal and just about nonexistent - they are not easy to get ahold of, and once you get a real person, they are often rude and usually not helpful; the billing function continues w/o your notification and exact knowledge of what it is for, and its very difficult to resolve billing mistakes. Bottom line: STAY AWAY FROM WEBSTARTS --- they want your money, but don't want to hear from you, ever. I also have accounts with GoDaddy and Hostway for other domains - they are easier and better to work with, and you can actually get someone on the phone if you need to. My advice: Go online and check the website builder reviews on google prior to signing up with one.

I'm the owner of WebStarts and we take our reputation seriously. We pride ourselves in being exceptionally personable and knowledgeable. If you had a bad experience with one of our reps you're more than welcome to post their real name here.

Our hold time are typically less than 3 minutes. We could easily outsource a call center in India and cut that hold time down but you wouldn't get help from a real expert or understand what the rep was saying. We work "human" hours. 9am to 7pm Monday through Friday. Maybe you sent an email on a Friday night and didn't get answered until Monday. Sorry --- but we're not going to sacrifice spending time with our wives and kids to have a 24/7 hotline.

As far as billing goes... We auto-bill to keep your site up. If we didn't and your site was failed to be charged you'd be complaining about your site being down. We see it all the time.

If you have a question about WebStarts you're not going to find a more transparent company. You can call 1-800-805-0920. As the owner I sit in the same room as my reps and they're all first class "real" people. Of course we have areas where we can improve and we do make mistakes but nobody cares more or works harder.

The Webstarts DNS configuration tool is broken, dropping subdomains off of it's DNS servers.

I pointed this out to customer support, with incontrovertible proof. They were unable or unwilling to research the problem. They claimed they don't provide support for DNS configuration EVEN THOUGH THE CONFIGURATION WAS FOR THEIR OWN SYSTEM USING THEIR OWN TOOL!

Eventually they brushed me off. I was forced to create a workaround using a different service after investing so much time and energy on Webstarts.

Just terrible, from the moment we started with them, it was awful. Whenever calling with a problem, it was guaranteed that we were second guessed. I understand "recreating" the problem but this was not the case - it was the attitude when dealing with them. Most recently we tried to cancel our service and despite sending several emails notifying of the cancellation and what needs to be done, they never responded. Then finally about a month later, I received a TEXT MESSAGE saying that my website was down and needed to contact them immediately. What a terrible marketing ploy! Fortunately I knew better but still called to finally end this whole "relationship" - sat on hold for 12 minutes - good thing I wasn't really experiencing an issue. Finally when I spoke with someone, the gentleman was rude when I mentioned that I had sent emails regarding our account. Just kept telling me that "we always respond quickly." Then when he finally did see the emails, one arrived on 09/25 (today is 10/23) and the other he found in spam - he accused me of spamming people because their system is flawless. What a joke. Bunch of narcissists. Happy to be out of their clutches!

Let me say first that Webstarts wasn't always awful. I don't know what happened to them but I take back all my good reviews and write about the last six months. Webstarts is a web hosting company. They offer user friendly templates and I was happy with them, until...

They billed me for a year after 11 months. They billed four times for one year. They wouldn't refund the three extra charges. One of their customer service people stole my credit card number and made several attempts to charge things in Florida. Thankfully my credit card company knows I'm not in Florida, so they prevented the fraudulent charges.

After months of emails back and forth & not getting through to them, I spoke to them directly and they were verbally and emotionally manipulative/abusive. So I charged back the over charges.

My domain names are mine but as administrators they've refused to release the URLs to my new web host. I've started over with new everything. I love my new company. They've been very helpful

AS I PROMISED WEBSTARTS... HERE IS MY REVIEW: A once good company has lost their way, avoid http://webstarts.com. They're awful to deal with and will try steal from you a little bit or a lot. Don't let them.

I tried Shopify first. Everyone said it was the best. But I got bogged down. I liked Shopify at first because it would integrate with my eBay store, and with AliExpress.
But I found it really hard to use. I could set up the store OK, but I couldn't control my eBay inventory. I could NEVER get Kit to sync with my Facebook, and several of the apps were glitchy and hard to use. And support was non-existent. No sales, or almost no sales, and couldn't figure out how to drive any traffic to my site. For $29 a month, I thought I could do better.
Then I found WebStarts. It was WAY easier to design my web page, I started getting a TON of traffic right away, as they did the SEO for me, and the support is fantastic. And it is cheaper. So far, for me as a person not very good with websites, this has been a very good experience. VERY good! It has even driven more traffic to my eBay store with a link I use on the front page. So it gives me a web presence with my own store, and drives traffic to my eBay store, for less cost. I can't say enough or recommend this service enough. Great expereience!

This is the best FTP Client & has every tool under the sun, and so easy a 3 yr old can go into business making the best web sites for others.
The problem was cost per domain. A few pushy emails at first. But even that has changed for the better, I am more impressed as time goes on. The only others that can compare are full service ftp's http://www.maxasite.com AKA MaxSites.com AND http://nwww.nicster.com a FULL VIP SERVICE that offers self editing, both new start up companies.
We will see how well they come along later this year.

All three of them have Great tech's. And support
Webstarts and MaxASite self creating web site premium packages, for your premium domains are the best, easiest, fastest, simplest, most versatile, FTP Clients I have found for the do it your self layman, with the best web site building tools giving up, and allowing total control of any and all pages, and text, TEXT box size, font, color, back ground and more including any where you want to put it. Also includes, unlimited every thing, width of the pages, direction color and more of menu, text hyperlinks, photo and flash, or logo hyperlinks, with a great range of colors, insert logo links, or any kind imaginable insert able objects and make them hyperlinks. So on and so on and so on. Every tool you can think of are there.
