I transfered money to Philippines 3 times with their app didn't have any problems. They gave me a good exchange rate and everything went through smoothly. 2nd time I made a slight mistake with the receivers surname and when I contacted them about it they sorted it out quickly. I don't know why all the negative reviews I found western union excellent
I will never never use Western Union again. I put a stop pay on a money order in June and still have not gotten my money back. Very unworthy company. Every time I call they tell me to wait a couple more days. It has 3 months. I wouldn't pick a star at all if I didn't have to.
I went to the grocery store (HEB) to make an international money transfer. (Money-gram) I forgot my pin to pay for it, so I revoked the money-gram. Or at least I thought it I did. After going to the bank to get my pin, I went to the Base Exchange and made a new money order. I paid 50 cents less. After looking at my records I found that the money-gram from HEB was converted to the one I presumed was annulled by Western Union. If you send a money-gram and it is canceled, ensure that you have your receipt. The people at the grocery store, the Bank and particularly Western Union will be clueless and will not be able to help you. Western Union can and will make the switch without your authority. Keep a close eye on your bank statement to verify Western Union's actions. This will certify that you are not double charged. (Double crossed) This I did, to unravel their poor judgment.
I can t find a place open 5 dollar generals not working? Delta gas station s hasn't used WU in over a year... still listed on the WU APP! Piggley wiggly stopped using WU and still on WU sight and apps!
I try to reset my account, they send email with links that won't work, they have fake customer service, wtf happen to western union, weird. One time i was in a remote location and i couldn't go to the store i couldn't send money to my parents.
Is time to find a new money service i have been using this service for years, well too bad, their lost.
I am a truck driver and I needed funds in Southern New Mexico but in Southern New Mexico their network was down. I had to drive to Tucson to find a Truck Stop where their network was working. But because the pickup location was in New Mexico and not Arizona I still cant pickup my funds. I called customer support and explained the situation to them and they still wouldn't help me. I finally told them if they want to get paid they are going change the pickup location. If not then I will tell the sender to cancel the entire money transfer. Their customer service the worst I've seen and I will never send or receive money with them ever again. They are way to pricey to be such a major inconvenience like this! So screw you Western Union! I wanted to drop an F-Bomb here but I wanted everyone to know just how $#*!ty they really are to their customers and I hope they go business really soon...
Was sent approx $200. After 3 trips, I hadda' give up. This company used alibi's to hang on to the money in transit. See my self-explanatory screen grab. Also, the $7.50 transfer fee was high.

I rate them with one star because it is not possible to rate with 0 stars! They do not explained me what is the reason for what do not give me the money, made me to go to a Western office to take the money ( available status on tracking) and when I tried to get the money they said that there are blocked for verification). The amount was little around 100 EUR and they said to try with a little amount in condition that the expenses to send money are high. I do not recommend!
If you need the money, then I would suggest using Walmart to Walmart. DO NOT try to. Pick it up in person at Dollar General, they aren't trained very well, I had a western union sent on Friday, and didn't get the money until Monday. So. If you don't need the money right away Western Union would be for you.
This is the first time I write a review about a company and service because Western Union has exceeded the limits of unprofessionalism, lack of proactivity and care about its clients. I haven't been able to transfer money since 2 months and I tried all channels possible to transfer to 2 countries in specific yet no action has been taken to solve the problem and worse than that no one knows how to track or how to report. The answer is just wait and no action been taken. I recommend that banks should take action and evaluate the service of their partners which is not acceptable and is affecting their image indirectly.
I tried to transfer money from Australia to New Zealand. The money did not go through to the recipient and I was told there is a "technical issue" and they will refund me in 7 days. I never received the money! I received an email to tell me go and cash out a big amount of money from nearest western union place. Are they serious?!
I live in New Zealand they want me to catch a flight and go cash out the money from Australia? I never asked for the money to be cashed out anyways! They said there is a technical issue and they will refund the money to my bank account they never did! Now they are taking their sweet time to refund the money back to my bank account and no one is replying to me with a response! No one know where my money is! NEVER EVER TRUST THEM WITH YOUR MONEY!

The worst customer service I ever dealt with! I have requested transactions history report for all 2019 and 2020 transactions the one I received not the one I sent, I kept calling every couple of days to ask when I will receive it and how much I really need it coz all my business is frozen because this report and the kept giving me fake promises and tell me that I will receive it in 24 hours which it never happened, eventually I gave up and waited till they sent it to me, guess what! They sent me the wrong report, the one I sent not the one I received as I requested! After 21 days of frustration, lies and fake promises, the just sent me the wrong one and now I'm running out the time frame to solve the issue I have with my business thanks to the worst stupid, ignorant, lier, lazy, customer service ever!
I swear I will spread it everywhere to let the people know about their fu**** service and how they don't give a sh*th for the customers!
Agent doesn't take care entering receivers information which causes delays for the receiver. Took over an hour to sort out and this was the second time this happened
I was sent $500 and was told it would be one business day. Tracked the transfer and my bank doesn't have it. Called WU and was hung up on several times. The last "scammer agent" tells me that it's going to be another 5-7 business days to process.
None of the people I spoke with had a command of the English language. So basically, WU stole the money transfer and the fee. Zero help from these people. DO NOT USE THEM. THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY AND YOU WON'T GET IT BACK!

Needed to send a transfer. My phone has autocorrected spelling of a street address by adding one more letter in it.
I do understand that it was my fault not to check the spelling, but it us ridiculous that I couldn't fix the spelling later! Like it's possible to correct receiver's name, but NO WAY to fix ONE LETTER in receiver's address?
Had to cancel my transfer. But instead of sending it through WU again used moneygram who's fees are 50% less, and delivery is made in minutes instead of 4 business days.

I got a notification from my bank that my account was changed with a large amount then i found out it was done through Western Union, Unfortunately Western Union had the information that someone try to use my personal account and they allowed my account to be hacked and did not do anything to stop it or help a customer in any way. For sure i will never ever use Western Union ever a gain i do not trust them to help in any way although its their fault from the beginning to the end, please everyone be careful.
The worst transfer money company! I had to receive money and i traveled 2 hours to find a city where was an agency that had cash. It cost me time and extra money. I wouldnt recommend it, bc it is very difficult to find an agency that gives u cash, they just eant to get.
I had money transferred from Florida to Indiana to purchase a tractor for my parents in Florida Western Union said the money would go through in minutes it took almost 30 hours of phone calls and arguing back and forth to finally get the money released Western Union threatened to confiscate the money because they thought it was fraud or theft never again will I use their service or recommend it to anyone terrible terrible business practices by these people terrible shameful they should be put out of business for threatening to confiscate in 80 year old woman's money disgusting terrible business practices go somewhere else if you want to transfer money do not use this service if it's any substantial amount of money they will do everything they can to rip you off this review requires I give them at least one star but they don't deserve that.

I have asked my client to 0ay through western union on 26th. After the transfer western union sloppy routine thing to do is make the sender and receiver wait for 2 hrs, then after several hrs silently ask for customers id via email from sender.
Their online method is sloppy, their customer service is pathetic, their system gets shutdown every now and then and you cannot view details via MTCN. When you call them and give MTCN their agent are so stupid say this LTCN number is wrong and contact your sender. In fact they dont know that i am their father in digital world and anybody can check things online, the reason to call wu du, b agent is to confirm whether it can be picked up and the place is open.

Never use the online WESTERN UNION SERVICES. WHEN GI TO AN AGENT MAKE SURE YOU KEEP A CLOSE EYE TO THEIR THEFT AGENT. Horrible experience I sent money to my sister on the 3rd and today is the 9th and she still hasn't received it. Every time I ring customer service am told different stories. Mind you this wasn't a bank transfer and they say they can't refund either. Either refund me or give my sister the money! She has gone to pick up the money several times and they told her they can't recognise the mtcn. Close up or sell the company to someone who can do better.
Customers Service didn't even care about my issues. They only answered with standard phrases. Even a complaint was not processed, but ignored. Promised callbacks were not made. NEVER AGAIN WESTERN UNION. Unbelivable.

I've been using WU monthly for over 10 years now and they have progressively gotten worse over the years, the last money transfer is taking more than twice the designated number of days according to the website (0-4 business days) to complete although I've not changed the way I send the money and pay for it, what used to take seconds to get to the philippines is now supposedly taking 9 days and I have not gotten 1 email to the effect of when the money will be due to my wife although WU took the money out of my bank account 2 days after making the transaction, I've never not received an email for my transactions until this time, customer service reps are rude and will hang up on you when you ask for a supervisor. WU needs some decent competitors to do away with the monopoly they seem to have on sending international money transfers

I've sent money to Bryan Tx twice and both times the people couldn't receive there move. They had all documentation. I will NEVER USE THEM again and I have been using them over 15 years This company is horrible now.

Futile efforts to use Western Union to transfer funds to a friend in another country, vis-a-vis bank account to bank account. 3 transfers; 1 finally succeeded (after an hour long talk with someone on the phone, who promised that all 3 would go through); 1 mysteriously to be "refunded" after 7 business days; 1 perennially "in progress"---and I am given no opportunity to stop it. The many people I've talked with on the phone are sweet and kind but seem not to have access to any more information than I get on the web-site, which is uninformative and in some instances simply wrong. I WILL NEVER USE WESTERN UNION AGAIN!
