We sent 1000 euros (1700 SGD) to our landlord in Singapore.

After 1 week of not receiving his money, our landlord got really angry at us.
But it turned out that he had made a mistake in the bank account number that he provided us.

So we accidentally gave the wrong bank account number to Worldremit. (there was one too many zero at the end - tiny mistake)

We asked them if they could replace the account number with the correct one to finally make the transaction to our landlord.

Here is what they replied:
"Unfortunately, a recall won't be possible for this transaction. Which means, we won't be able to get your money back or transfer these to the correct bank account number."? What?

To which we replied:
"So what will happen with this money? Are you going to steal it?
What does that mean? This is 1000 euros that we are talking about. "

To which they replied with a lie saying that the money went to the person with the wrong bank account instead of going to our landlord. This is a lie because the bank account number that we gave Worldremit had one too many number in it. It was not the wrong bank account number. It was a bank account number with too many numbers in it. So it did not match with anybody else in the bank.

Please be aware. Worldremit is a SOMALIAN company that pretends to be from the UK. After a quick search in Google, we discovered that the company is owned by a "gentleman" called Ismail Ahmed. They will just find any excuse to steal your money.

WorldRemit I try to make it short. If you have any issue, dont try to write, they will not answer. So you need to call to get things done sometimes and they will hold you for at least 20 min. In the waiting line and most of the time is 30min. Plus (please just try it and they will tell you the approximate waiting time right at the beginning).

Unfortunately Ive sent money to a scammer and ask for the money back. Because it was not paid out yet they refund me, but sent me no email no message at all and additionally they blogged and deleted my account at the same time.
The cost of WorldRemit is higher than most of the services, but the customer service and work they supposed to do for you is just unacceptable.

Ones I had a similar problem with a transaction over Western Union and what a difference no waiting time to get someone on the customer service hotline, the fees are less, instant transfer of your money order. The huge difference for example between WorldRemit and Western Union is, that Western Union cares about their customers and you feel appreciated and if something goes wrong, they take very good care of you.

Final conclusion: Stay away from WorldRemit whenever possible.

I sent money via World remit and there was a problem with the transfer. They asked me to send my ID or a selfie to confirm my identity. I sent both and the money transfer was not completed. Then when I tried to contact customer service all their recommended service points didn't work. No emails were available for contact and after I was forced to use Instagram to reach out to them, they kept sending me automated messages. I finally got an email from their completely flawed customer service abut it didn't address the problem. Then I asked them to cancel my transaction and refund my money so that I can use another service to send the money and believe it or not, this is my 7th day of waiting for a resolution and still I do not have a resolve. To say that I am totally disappointed with the service will be an understatement. It is hands down the worst service I have ever experienced. For a business to run so poorly is beyond my comprehension. I hope I will receive my money back because at this point I haven't. I strongly recommend against using such a service where the customer service is non existent.

The first time I used WorldRemit was a few months ago sending money to be picked up by my friend in Dubai. My friend waited for 5 hours to no avail (no sms received for notification and the exchange had no record on the recipient) so after a few calls to WorldRemit here doing the coordination I had to change the recipient's name. After about 10 hours since I placed my transaction, it finally settled.
Thinking it was just a coincidence that it happened. I placed another transaction recently on 27th Dec 2021 early in the morning, and the same thing happened! My friend went to the pick-up exchange and after waiting for 5 hours, was being refused pickup. Taken advice from the consultant after I rang up 5 times, I changed the recipient's name, but the same thing happened again despite having changed the name! Worldremit consultant over the phone kept giving me a robotic kind of reply that 'they had sent an email to the exchange to tell them to release the money and asked them for a reason for the holdup but do not know why received no response' and then suggested to change recipient's name again for the third time! All in all, it took two whole days and my recipient still could not pick up the money! In frustration, I canceled the transaction. Never thought WorldRemit had no control or communication over these overseas exchanges. When I demanded to speak to a manager or someone higher in rank, I was told I had to wait a day or two because the manager "is very busy"! So useless and hopeless, wasting my time!

I sent money and still the receiver has not gotten the money. There is no way of contacting WR. The customer service number for my country does not work. The only way to contact WR is by leaving a negative review here or on other review sites, then at least they rush to call you. Whenever they call, I've reported that the phone number doesn't work multiple times but nothing is done. This has to be the most frustrating company on earth with one sided communication so that you cannot reach them when they delay or withhold transactions.

UPDATE: Following my review on Trust Pilot I received an email from the company saying quote: "We tried reaching out to you today but you were not available. We are sorry to know that your transaction was not processed... We're constantly working to improve our service so your feedback is important to us. We would appreciate speaking with you to discuss this further with you. We will be in contact within the next 2 days."
They don't even care to try and work on processing the transaction or to explain the reason for the delay of two transactions amounting to almost $1900 - Transaction #******* and Transaction #*******. Their only issue is that I left negative feedback that might scare away potential customers from giving them more money to hold and not send out. That's the only reason they reached out.
I have gone through enough terrible experiences with WR and I've finally had enough. Yes, their rates may be lower to send money within and to Africa. But it's not worth the stress. I'd rather deal with a company that understands how sensitive MONEY is and actually has a way for their clients to contact them when there are issues. Be careful with this company.

Worldremit deserves a zero-star rating. But I'm choosing one-star since the system does not allow you to give ratings lower than one-star.

Money wired to an international account is not delivered and was not promised a refund not until day #15 after I sent it. I doubt I will be refunded based on their poor business practices I experienced.

Read my Workdremit predicaments: On July 7, I sent money to an international account through Worldremit. Worldremit claimed that the money will be delivered on the same day.

Day #1 passed, and nothing was delivered. Day #2 passed, and nothing was delivered. Day #3 passed, and nothing was delivered. Day #4 passed, and nothing was delivered. On day #5, I received an email from Workdremit asking me to upload my Identification document to a link in the email. Unfortunately, 1-hour after I received the instructions to upload the document I noticed that my account was blocked.

I called Worldremit and it took me over 1 hour and a half to speak with someone. The person (Janine) asked me to send my driver's license via email, which I did. After a hold, the person told me that the money will be released to the recipient on, the same business day, today. The person also told me that my account will be reactivated within 1 hour.

In my further predicament, only 30 minutes passed when I received an email indicating that my transaction was "canceled" and I will not be refunded until another 10 days, which is day #14 after I sent the money.

This extreme delay and business mishandling is not only an inconvenience to customers but also creates trouble.

I read some of the reviews that said that this company is going downhill, but I always approach those reviews with an element of a "trust but verify" attitude. I wish that I could say that they were wrong, but I cannot. I am not sure how they were as a company before my one and only try. I tried to send funds to my fiancée in Ghana, and I promptly had my account disabled with no explanation as to why, and I could not get that information. I had enough money in account, and the bank I was using was a reputable bank. The money I tried to transfer to my fiancée was refunded. All of this happened about a month ago. Fast forward to today (11/03/2022), I checked my account, and this company debited my account the money that they refused to transfer a month ago. Of course they do not have any way to talk to customer service personnel. They have effectively stopped any communications with the company. My advice is to steer clear of this company. To get money to my fiancée, I have her get a bitcoin wallet, and I buy bitcoins and send them to her wallet. She is able to sell them where she is and get the funds then. It costs a little bit, but I have had 100% success with that method.
