The worst service I have ever used

Imagine sending money to your loved one with the promise of the transaction going through in minutes, only for WorldRemit to sit on your money, mark the transaction as delayed and 24 hours later say it failed.
And then promise to refund 7 days later. But that is of course once you get them on the phone.
I have called them 6 times today, waited 30 minutes each time, and im still not through to them to just cancel my transactions.

This is not a one off failed transaction, this is now 9 transactions that have failed, they will give you excuses like the details of the person sending to, but why did it go through for the other transactions and not this one, and no response from these morons.

If you like a headache and wasting hours on the phone to idiots who may or may not answer the call
Then go ahead and use these idiots. Otherwise save yourself the hassel and avoid them

Im still on hold all just to cancel my transactions, and my account and i will never use them again
Good bye idiots i dont need you in my life

I put in a transfer and the very next day it was canceled without cause, I phoned worldremit to ask why and was told " I don't know", I asked if I could get my refund escalated because they have ALL of my money that was needed to pay a bill and to buy food and I was told MAYBE I will get it sooner then 7 days. My heart literally hurts for taking a risk on this company who now holds every single dime of my money and is now telling me to wait before I can have it back. Please, I'm begging all of you do not go with this company please save yourself the heartache i'm feeling right now.

My money was stolen
February 25, 2019

Sent over 2000 canadian dollars. Order shows as picked up but it was never. Agent says they dont get an aswer from the local agent. Terrible experience. Now I have to call my bank and report fraud.

HORRIBLE - This is to the point of being considered outright fraud. I needed to send over $1000 USD to a contact in West Africa for immediate pickup. Vital timing. We followed online instructions to a T. It has now been 10 days, I have spent HOURS on the phone, exchanged DOZENS of emails, with WorldRemit people, including multiple escalations, and followed precisely every bit of instruction. WORLDREMIT still holds MY money, the recipient is unable to pick-up, they say it'll take ANOTHER WEEK to process a cancellation/refund. THIS IS A SCAM. AVOID IT. USE ANOTHER SERVICE.

A big scam. Delayed my payment processing asked for details and I replied same day (Tuesday); emailed them again on Thursday asking for status and then on Friday, Worldremit guy Xui Qin never replied. Called them on Friday and after hold time of 1 hr call got disconnected. Today called again on Sunday and call was answered and they first said never got a reply then I got angry and they admitted reply is there but that their team never updates status; I told them I asked for update on Thursday and Friday via Email and its illegal to delay payment like this purposely and not replying. He gave a stupid reason that in email reply you havent answered a question that what will be future transaction volume. I said its not imp all necessary information was provided and if thats the case why I was not replied on Wed, Thursday, Fri, Sat or Sunday and requested this information.

Terrible experience and their guy who emailed Xui Qin haven't replied to my emails till date! Pathetic Service; use some other provider or end up like me with thousands of dollar stuck.

Also am someone who was using Worldremit for more then an year and transfer volume was $100k plus an Year. Will take my business else where! Just waiting for a refund now which might take another 7 days. Please avoid this company!

Now they have also blocked my account after me reviewing them...

Worst business practice
January 30, 2021

I am using World Remit since 2016 and have never had any problem, but since January 2021, the company's new policies might hurt customers down the road.

Here is how I was treated as long-time customer. I sent a fee of $65 for my disabled child's online class. In the past, World Remit asked me for recipient ID, and I provided them right away. This time they are holding my $65 transaction for 11 days. When I called, I got an answer it is under security review…. The second time called and spoke with the supervisor, and he lied to me that within 2 hours, your transaction will be released, and I will give you a follow-up call. Of course, no one called. 3rd call waited almost one hour to speak with the supervisor and got an offer if I would like to cancel my transaction? Because the security department didn't receive my recipient ID. Last ten days waiting period, no one called me to inform me that they are missing ID. In the past, I made thousands of dollars transactions with World Remit, but they drop their respect in just one $65 transaction. For sure I will use a different company in the future and not World Remit.

This platform appears to be seriously malfunctioning and/or fraudulent. I spend a week trying to make a transfer using a credit card and kept getting error messages. My credit card company said there was no issue on their end, while when I called World Remit, they assured me that the problem was with my credit card and my account was active and ready to use. I finally asked a family member to borrow money using their debit card and it appeared to go throughthen I got an email notification minutes later saying the transaction was cancelled and my account was permanently closed. The money has already come out of the bank account and may take up to 21 days to be refunded so this leaves me in a very compromised situation, in a foreign country without access to cash (and now also owing my family member for the transaction that was cancelled but not yet refunded.)

I recommend avoiding this service at all costs. Xoom doesn't offer as good of an exchange rate, but at least they are trustworthy and efficient. I'll be using them from now on.

I have been using WorldRemit for near one year now for regular transfers (principally to friends in the Philippines). After an initial difficulty with the web site and sincere efforts by World Remit staff to assist me, I can now indicate that this company is head and shoulders above any other in the ease and consistency of their service at a competitive price.

No, I am not a company "plant of stooge", I am just a very satisfied customer that believes in recognising the efforts of a company to be the very best in their field.

It is fact that I was initially publicly critical of aspects of the way World Remit conducted its' business and in particular some of WR staff who were overzealous in contacting me (one in the very early hours of the morning!) in an attempt to bully me into upgrading my online reviews to a 5 star rating.

I have waited now over six months to re-review World Remit's performance and having used the longest running international money transfer company (with very poor results and many problems in recent times), can now recommend without hesitation; World Remit!

World Remit is the most unprofessional and pathetic way of money transfer. Have used it just for a week and already have seen so many wired things happening to my money. YOUR MONEY IS NOT SAFE WITH WORLDREMIT. If you want to waste your money, use WorldRemit only then.

Beware robbers

Made transaction for sending 500 Euros. 2 weeks later no fund transfer. Sent numerous complains. Worldremit never replied. Finally closed our account and never reimbursed our 500 Euros.

Scamming

I DID NOT SIGN up to world remit and for the past 6 months i been getting money taken out from world remit. These People ARE SCAMMING. Ive contacted my bank and multiple times in the past "world remit" tried to take out money 6 times in one day without accomplishment. But now they've successfully taken out over 100 dollars, This app AND/ OR website is not TRUSTWORTHY nor is it safe like they claim.

Transaction went through on September 15. Got a message on September 18 that ID verification is required before the transaction can be finalized. 3 days later! My aunt has a medical emergency, hence the money transfer. Tried verifying ID through the app: SOMETHING WENT WRONG -> BUG in APP. Tried through browser but log in was required but password has to be reset. Requested a reset, entered my email address and it says link has been sent, but even after a couple of hours and retries, NO SINGLE MAIL IN INBOX NOR SPAM. Then I tried to cancel the transfer to get the money back (THE ONLY AMOUNT THAT WAS LEFT IN MY SAVINGS) so I could send it through a different site, but the app also showed a TECHNICAL ISSUE. Called for HOURS on the Belgian line, got 1 single call back but without anyone answering on the other side, only background noise for 30 minutes! 4 different problems, no single solution.

I send money to India. It's showing receive money but money not still transfer in account. Continusly more than 1week calling customer service, send email but not response properly. If we call 1hour waiting. If send email after 24hour they give response. I send all the details but they send I didn't send any thing.

I am pissed off with WorldRemit service! I have followed the instructions on the FAQ page and prepared the bank documents for the colleagues of the WorldRemit to investigate my case and hopefully would like to get my refund back. However, it took almost 1 month to just investigate my case and their colleagues, always changing the person who contacts me about the case, always asking me to provide the same thing again and again. Since their colleagues contacting me always change and they specify that their company would not keep customers' bank record so I was like providing my bank statement to their colleagues, who called themselves 'experts', every time when contacting through email nearly every day and just like a loophole that never ends. Few weeks before, the 'experts' said the refund was successfully processed, however, the refund had never been made to my account. They are just deceiving people! So if any of you using their service, please continue, but be careful not to get a refund because they are trying their best by using their colleagues to let you get annoyed and give up on the refund!

Rip-off
July 3, 2018

I sent money to someone I trust overseas $1124. 00 to be exact. I used my debit card for the transaction early in the morning. By 7:15 am I received a email saying they cant help me, then I called customer care. It took 45 minutes to reach someone and the lady was real apologetic about the situation. After a while of talking she put me on hold. Another 35 minutes and my call was dropped. She did call me back and told me she would send email or fax to my bank. I waited all day and nothing. My bank stopped my account. I got a email from WorldRemit saying they couldnt help me and shut down my account. I have no idea why. No explanation whatsoever. My bank is trying to retrieve my money now.
This type of stuff shouldnt happen to us! Why is this place still in business? Oh and my bank told me that WorldRemit had checked out my account in April. I never heard or the company until today 07/03/2018. Why was WorldRemit checking out my account in April? My bank said they will put the money into my new account but said it would be best not to spend it Incase they cant retrieve my money. I am madder than a hornet about this rip-off company. Do yourself a favor and dont use this company. You will only receive regrets for using this bogus company.
